These cats and kittens are just like all cats and kittens. MomKatrina is finicky about cleanliness, son Branson loves to play,daughter Amelia is a champ at finding secret hiding places (where,we're sure, she sits purring until discovered), and father Sebastian isa patient sort of pussy who works (where else?) at the local dairyfarm. Super toy!
My 3 year old loves the Calico Critters, and this is her favorite family! These toys are so cute & very detailed. They have tons of accessories, and really help wtih creative play!

3 YR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER LOVES IT!
I purchased the Whiskers cat family and a Birthday Party Set for my 3 yr. old granddaughter for Christmas.She loves to carry around small items either in purses or bags or just in her hands.My son informed me a few days ago that she really loves this item.She sets them up for "tea parties" and talks to them and seems to have them with her constantly.I was surprised at how tiny the accessories were and don't think they would be wise to have around if there are toddlers or small children who might put them in their mouths.Other than that they are very cute and since my granddaughter received many gifts, this tiny cat family must be pretty special for them to be her "chosen" companions.

Calico Critters - AKA The return of Sylvanian Families in US

A special set for a little girl
My 4 year old daughter loves everything we have bought in the Calico Critters sets.This is no exception.She adores the little furniture, with the great details and has spent alot of time playing with these.I do not recommend them for children that will lose small pieces- we pack it back into a box with a tight fitting lid after playing.All of the 3 & 4 year old girls in her playgroup are jealous of this set of toys.

Still worth buying, AFTER you get the other Critter sets!
This is a nice little set, though not too interesting by itself. Recommended only when purchased with critters & house. This set has been in Sylvanian Families (aka Calico Critters in usa), since the begining. The books are really cute, and removable from the book shelf. THere are also pictures & picture frames, chairs, couch, and a lamp. As mentioned before, you would want to have calico critter families & a house before picking this up as it has little play interest when bought as a stand alone. Great toy and a bargain too!
I love this little rabbit! I collected the original Littlest Pet Shop toys and although I don't like some of these new ones as much as the old ones, some of them are so cute! They are affordable too. [...]They're great value and durable for children too. Plus each one comes with its own carry case so the child can carry it around with them. The only problem? The rabbit is supposed to hold the carrots in its mouth via the magnet but they tend to stick in the middle of its face between its eyes...

Great for stocking stuffer or gift exchange
My 6 year old daughter loves small trinkets/toys and these portable pets are no exception. She had a hard time deciding which pet she wanted because they are all so cute and each has an adorable "home" for her to carry. They seem very durable and high quality for the price. I have picked up a few of them to use for gift exchanges and to put in her stocking. I am not familiar with the original littlest pet shop items, so I cannot comment on how these compare. ... My Little Pony
Both these ponies, are two of the cutest you could have. All the MLP's are cute, and their accessories are a lot of fun, with the ponies of course. MLP's make wonderful friends, and teach children good things. Bumblesweet is the orange pony, and Daisy Jo is the purple one. I also recommend getting, Fluttershy, Sew-In-Sew, Forsythia, Merriweather, Strawberry Swirl, Sependity, and I could go on and on. There is another pony I have, called Golden Delicious that I also recommend. Enjoy MLP lovers! :-D

Bumblesweet is not ugly
To the two previous reviewers, you have some growing up to do.You obviously have a problem with the new My Little Pony line. If you don't like them, don't buy them. It's that simple. The new ponies aren't wastes of money either. Bumblesweet is not ugly. She is one of the most beautiful ponies, and I am not ashamed to say it. I am proud to own her, along with the other ponies I have. I love Daisyjo as well. She is incredibly gorgeous.

In addition, the reviewers who see the Dance Studio, Amusement Park, Cafe, Salon, and Castle as pieces of junk are crazy. They just want to rush to get their children playing with them and won't bother to read the instructions on how to operate them properly and get the full benefit of the toys. The same goes for the ones who think the Loop-de-La and Glitter Glide playsets are statues on wheels. Those reviewers have only themselves to blame. I believe all the playsets are wonderful and lovely. I own the Dance Studio, Cafe, and Salon, and they have never fallen apart on me. All this comes from a devoted My Little Pony fan.

Ah, Paris
I just gave this toy to my little girl for Easter.She loves it like no other.We've played with it every minute since she got it.What a great idea!I wish they would make more.I lived in Paris for about two years and it brought back great memories to play this with my daughter.The Eiffel tower opens up with table and chairs and ice cream stand inside.The best part is the elevator to send the dolls up and imagine looking over Paris.For someone like me who has actually done that in Paris over and over again at the top of all the national monuments, it makes playing with my daughters magical.

There are just a couple drawbacks.The little clothes tear easily.Similar perhaps to durability of Polly Pocket.Also, some of the French on the playmat is incorrect.What can one expect though?Overall, It is a magical toy.I wish I could get my hands on the rest of these Madeline Playsets of Paris. ... Consider these an indoor toy, and not really intended for rough, outdoor play, or extended bathtub play.

Calico Critters
Calico critters are really really cute! They are soft and fuzzy and come in many little animals-chipmunks, squirrels, cats, dogs, and lots more. I don't own a house, but I just think that having the critters is enough. I have a whole box of them that I collect.

When we got our baby stella my daughter just flipped. She is just so cute right down to the dimples on her back. CUTE IDEA!Needs a little tweaking to the design.
My daughter got this from "Santa" this past year.I thought it was precious.When we opened it and put the little dolls in, some of them don't even fit in the seats right.The seats were not made properly to accomidate their little legs.2 of the little dolls have to stand, because the seats were not made large enough.Overall, we kept it because my daughter still likes it, even though the little dolls fall out of the merry go round because, the dolls don't fit right.Cute, just needs some tweaking to the design.

Very Sweet
This is the sweetest little toy. 5sies have a very high cute factor. Each doll has a litte picture on the outfit. The blue boy has a train. And the he sits in the train on the merry go round. Plus the high chairs are all coordinated with the same litte detail (train, rattle, bear, heart and bottle). Just adorable.

This is my favorite thing from the 5-Sies line! My 4 year old daughter just loves these little guys and plays with them all the time. Breaks immediately
I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased this item for my 2 year old. As others have discovered, the ramp fell apart IMMEDIATELY!!!! It looks nice, but isn't actually much fun to play with - there is nothing connecting the levels other than the clunky elevator, which makes it difficult to access the vehicles.

Nice idea but needs some fine tuning
At a sale price, this would be a great deal. At full price, I don't think it is worth it. It is a wonderful idea. My son owned this for all of 2 minutes when the string fell off the elevator and the ramp broke. I was able to fix the elevator, but the ramp will need glue of some sort.
Also note that this is NOT one piece. It is actually 3 pcs that just sort of sit together.

I Wish I Had Gotten The Fisher Price Garage

MY 3-YEAR OLD LOVES IT!
We had the regular Polly Pockets and my 3 1/2 year old got so frustrated trying to dress them...then I would get frustrated because I would have todress them, over and over and over again. This new Quik Clik Polly Pocket is great because my daughter can dress and undress the dolls on her own and she loves the autonomy of being able to do it on her own. Yes, the dolls arms and legs do not move as easily but for pretend play at 3-5 years old I thinkt these are fine. The main fun for my daughter and friends her age is the dressing and undressing of the dolls and immediately seeing how different outfit and accessories combinations look. Especially the different hairstyles.
Yes, the pieces can get easily lost but that is true with the traditional Polly Pocket stuff also. At least these clothes are stiff and easier for smaller hands to pick up and play with. My daughter plays with this for hours and loves it and I love seeing her so happy! We cannot wait for more versions of the Quik Clik Polly dolls to come out!

LOVE IT!!!!!!!
My girls got this for Easter (one Lila, one Lea I think) and LOVE THEM!!!!!The regular Polly's were hard for them to dress (they are 3 yrs old), but these are literally a clik!!They adore them, played with them for 12 HOURS the first day, then again alllllllllll day the 2nd day and now day three and they've been playing all morning!For young Polly fans I say thumbs UP!

Adorable
I received Peri Winkle for Christmas without Valenshy.Peri Winkle is pure white with pale blue eyes.Her special marking is what appears to be an aquamarine jewel with blue and purple swirls and dots decorating it.A purple heart can also be found on her left front hoof.Her mane and tail are many different colors of blue, almost like an enchanted waterfall of some sort.I'm not going to brush it with the cute blue brush included until I absolutely have to, because I want her mane and tail to stay just as they are right now.

My Little Pony may be marketed to small children, but I can't resist the wondorously colored and pretty-eyed little ponies with the sugary sweet accessories!I wasn't expecting my mom to buy this for me, but I am happy she did!I have the feeling that there will be more My Little Ponies in my future...

Pretty flimsy and hokey.Poor quality.
The pieces of this toy (the outfits, etc.) all ripped when we pulled them off the starter sheet.Also, the pieces are too little and get easily lost when played with and the outfits are uncolorful and depressing. In general, this toy is hokey and cheap.I recommend Melissa and Doug's Magnetic Dress-Up and/or
Magnetic Princess Dress-Up. All the pieces are wooden and are large enough to keep together.Also, the outfits are colorful and beautiful and they come in nice wooden boxes with lids so that a child can keep things organized.

Durable, Fun, Creative Toy!
My four-year old niece loves this toy! It consists of a castle background (that contains a handsome prince!), two magnetic dolls, and various charming outfits. I had to punch out the outfits from the backing for her, but after that she was off and running. Each outfit (hats, boots, dresses) is that of a type of princess, from a fairy princess to an American Indian princess to a snow princess. Several outfits look like they belong to characters young girls are familiar with: Snow White, Jasmine from Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland. These are wonderful for young girls because they are colorful, durable, and stimulate creative activities like story telling. They are heavy weight, and so resist tearing and can be washed.

Best of all, all the pieces are magnetic so they stay together without getting lost and can be applied either to the supplied background or to any metallic surface.
