Editorial Review Rock out with this innovative sequel to the hip-hop rhythm game Parappa the Rapper. This time the action centers around Lammy, a grunge guitar-playing lamb with her own rock band. Lammy is late for her latest performance with Milkcan, the band she fronts with kooky sidekicks Katy Kat and Masan. To get to the gig, Lammy must successfully strum her guitar through seven cartoon levels. Each level contains a unique music video that requires superior guitar-playing skills. Lammy must master multiple styles of music, including heavy metal, pop, and punk. Superior musicians will be rewarded with a special remix mode, which adds a special rap by well-known game character Parappa. With unique animation from acclaimed cartoonist Rodney Alan Greenblatt and catchy tunes from Masaya Matsuura, Um Jammer Lammy is one of the most innovative games to ever appear on the PlayStation. --Brett Atwood Pros:

Editorial Review Demolition Racer is the perfect antidote for "civilized"racing games. If shaving seconds off your lap times in games likeGran Turismo 2 is just too darn frustrating, then DemolitionRacer serves up a heaping helping of catharsis. The object of thisgame is not only to win the race, but to destroy the other racecars onthe way to victory. Unlike the weapons-oriented auto combat games, such as Vigilante8 and Twisted Metal, your only weapon here is that physicsformula you learned in high school: force equals mass timesacceleration. And what a wonderfully practical application of thatformula Demolition Racer provides. Being the first at the finishline doesn't guarantee a win, because the final score comes from aformula that multiplies your race ranking with damage points that areinflicted on other cars. And the crashes don't seem canned: cars twist, roll, and spin, catching fire here and losing panels there. The sheer irresponsibility of the game makes it exciting at first. After more play, players will appreciate the track design, the carphysics, the paint shop, and the seemingly endless variety of gameplaymodes. If you've grown tired of racing games, Demolition Raceris just what the doctor ordered. --Jeff Young Pros:

Each car handles differently but seems tocontrol near perfectly when using Dual Shock Analog Controller.Youroverall objectives in the league modes is to finish first and to score themost points. What can be better than slamming into the car in front of youand taking them out of the race? You will find yourself trying to scoremore and more points by wiping out the competion. This is a very funaspect of this game. There are a nice variety of tracks and cars to chosefrom and the different modes of play breaks up any repetition. The Arenamode in this game is nearly identical to the Bowl levels in DestructionDerby 1 and 2, however instead of getting to visit the Bowl at the end ofeach level, the entire levels of play have you moving from one bowl to thenext (if you survive.) It is a really great mode of play, trying to surviveand destroy the competition in a rounded bowl arena. Its basically kill orbe killed. Overall, Demolition Racer is a blast to play and the replayvalue will have you coming back for more. Its a fun game, and at 20 bucks, its a steal!

Editorial Review Based on the classic 1980s arcade game, Galaga will have players once again blasting wave after wave of aliens as a lone starfighter pilot. The alien invaders have already destroyed the rest of the fleet, and it is now up to you to stop their advance towards Earth. While the game is set in a 3-D universe, players can still choose the classic top-down view, as well as behind-the-ship and side-scrolling views. There are 10 levels, each containing different challenges and bonus rounds. During the course of the game, players can collect new weapons to add to their arsenal, including aliens. ... Editorial Review While Star Trek: Invasion never quite reaches the lofty heightsof the Colony Wars games, it's still worth a look even if you're not a green-blooded trekker. Set in the time line of the Next Generation TV and film series, Invasion has you cast in the role of a fighter pilot destined for a big part in the upcoming war against the Earth-bound Borg. The Borg is not the only Trek race to show up in here; the Cardassians, Klingons, and Bajorans are all along, too. Speaking of the Trek gang, actors Michael Dorn as Worf and Patrick Stewart as Captain Picard contribute good voice acting to an all-around solid production. The visuals in Invasion are uniformly sharp and show an attention to detail that almost makes the old PlayStation beg for mercy. The planets, the ships, the explosions (especially the explosions!) are topnotch. The music, however, is painfully repetitive. Disturbingly, the controls in Invasion are way too sensitive for all but the most die-hard space jockeys. The Valkyrie space fighters often make too wide a turn, resulting in constant misfires and untimely deaths. Perhaps because it is set in the more politically correct universe of Star Trek, Invasion does lack the Colony Wars games' level of intense, gritty combat, and its story isn't nearly as engaging. Yet, for a laser blast-filled journey into the final frontier, it's still a fun ride. --Mark Brooks Pros:

The difference is in the details.Tony Hawk lets youstring together hundreds of moves to make wicked combos.Street Skaterseems to have about three moves per character.TH requires real skill tobe land tricks, SS lets you land flat on your face and still pull off atrick.TH's control configurations are more intuitive -- maybe it'sbecause I learned them first, but it seems like SS is harder to control. Street Skater's levels are massive, like TH's, but since each level istimed and has a linear progression you have to make from start to finish,it's not easy to explore. The only plus on SS' side is that it has askate park editor, which is fun to play around with. But I found myselfwishing I could create a park and skate it with Tony instead of SS fourcharacters, and TH2 is coming soon and features a better editor. Like Isaid, SS is a temporary fix. You'll only go through its three levels somany times before you'll crave more levels, more space, more goals, morecharacters, and better play control, and you'll find yourself getting TonyHawk for whatever price you can.

Editorial Review Ever want to try your hand at making games? Now Agetec has delivered atimeless masterpiece that will help many gamers fulfill their dream ofconstructing a video game--albeit a role-playing game--from scratch. With RPG Maker for the PlayStation, would-be game designers can finallycreate their own digital world. All you need is a PlayStation, a littleimagination, a lot of time, and you can create your own Final Fantasy,Ogre Battle, or Dragon Warrior adventure--sort of. It takes teamsof 50 to 100 people two to three years to design and create the RPGs that weplay today. If you think you've got the patience to do it on your own, then thisgame (or should we say set of tools) has a lot to offer. Write, design, and control everything from the story line to dungeon designs, toorganizing and constructing the towns in your game. You can even choose itemlocations, weapons, and enemy hit-point totals. Such standard, modern-day RPGelements are all at your disposal here. For those who really want to go for allthe gusto, you can design and animate your own characters from scratch! Theanimation quality doesn't approach a Disney level, but at least the option isthere. This isn't a plug-and-play type of title; it will take you quite some time justto figure out where you want to start. If you don't have the patience to play atraditional RPG to the finish, then you might want to pass on RPG Maker. For everyone else, there's no better place to start! --Todd Mowatt Pros:

Editorial Review Many of the games in the budget-priced Greatest Hitsseries are showing their age, but Rayman's old-school 2-Dtechnology ironically gives it an edge in terms of longevity. This stillis one of the most beautiful, fun, and imaginative side-scrollingplatform jumping games ever released. You control the now-famous Rayman, a strange character with no arms orlegs (although he has feet and hands) and a propeller on his head. Somemay look at this as just another game where players run around and jumpall the time, but the charming graphics and incredibly tight controlselevate Rayman into special territory. The difficulty level isjust right at the beginning, letting players get a feel for Rayman'sbasic moves. Later levels require more advanced tricks and precisejumps, but the game is never unfair--something few 2-D side-scrollinggames can claim. If you can get past the too-cute graphics and see themfor the lush, imaginative visuals they are, the gameplay should keep youhooked for days. --T. Byrl Baker Pros:

Editorial Review Though 3-D action games abound on the PlayStation, none so far have starred everyone's favorite funny bunny--Bugs--until now. Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time features not only the same colorful animations and voices that made Looney Tunes famous, but plenty of gameplay variety as well. The Lost in Time theme puts Bugs in control of a time machine, and he'll need to collect carrots to open up levels set in the Stone Age, the 1930s, on a pirate ship, and in a creepy mansion. All of Bugs' biggest rivals make cameos in this addictive game. There's Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Witch Hazel, and everyone's favorite Martian, Marvin. Bugs can grab things, throw objects, roll, and give foes a swift kick in the rump. He can even dive into holes and travel underground. Hard-core gamers may hop past this one, but arcade-action lovers won't tire of this game quickly. With puzzles, fun boss battles, and lots of humor, Lost in Time is worth a look. --Robb Guido Pros:

Gameplay:6/10: Fairly fun for a while but then you win 100 times. Man, this game gets boring quickly, so win the Grand Prix and then quit the game FOREVER! Graphics:4/10: Cartoonish graphics just like the gameplay. The characters look like their animated self while the background seems mushy and not good. Sound:3/10: It gets old after hearing Boop, bop, beep, boop, bop, beep over and over again. Control:7/10: The cars are easy to control but they do go crazy at times like when you crash, you get in last usually. Overall:20/40: I think that equals 2 and a half stars! But, since I can't seem to do halves, it rounds up to a 3! That's better than my Gadget Racers review!!!!! Maybe, soon, you'll see me again in one of my review things. See ya later!

Now, onto the RACING ELEMENTS of the game! The big (and only) problem I have is that if you fall off your bike AT ALL, you will lose the race no matter how skilled you are because the computer-controled opponents hardly ever fall or even slow down. FREESTYLE. Ah,yes! This is where I spend most of my time playing the game. No worrying about losing a race here. Just have fun and pull off cool tricks. Unfortunataly, you run into that horrible problem with the game's physics alot in this mode. But, once you master the landings, Freestyle is pretty much flawless. Ahem...now we head to the SOUND catagory. Well, I'll tell you the only things you'll ever hear any of the riders say: Ooh!, Aaagh!, Umph. And the music? It's average rock. Nothing spectacular. FINAL THOUGHTS. If you want a good racing game, do not buy (or even rent) this game. If you're looking for a game with a pretty good Freestyle mode where you can pull off wild tricks and stunts, you may want to check this game out.
