5-0 out of 5 stars My Child's Favorite Toy for Months!
My daughter received this as a Christmas gift when she was 5 months old. We waited until she learned to sit up on her own, and it has now been her FAVORITE toy from age 6 months to now (10 months). The shape sorter, the frying pan noises, the music for opening the oven... she can occupy herself with this toy for hours if we let her.

The only downfall is that yes, the refrigerator door will come off. However, it goes back on quite easily. Little Tikes is attempting to market this as a toddler toy, but it really is probably too small to hold much value for toddlers (this kitchen is short, perfectly sized for an infant sitting upright.)

5-0 out of 5 stars Good toy
I bought this for my daughter when she started to crawl at 9mo.She loved it.Now at 14 mo she still squats and plays with it.The noises it makes are not super-annoying-loud and all the little doors for her to open and shut are great. The only problem is that the fridge door is not too durable. She quickly figured out that it is easy to pull off and now it is barely hanging on.However, I frankly don't care what she does to it as long as she is happy and entertained.Overall great toy.

4-0 out of 5 stars great toy

5-0 out of 5 stars 2-year old loves it!
I got this for my daughter's second birthday, and she loves it! The hair dryer sound is her favorite, and she likes to put lipstick and nailpolish on everyone in the house. I love that it tells her to put her comb, hair dryer, and makeup back when she is finished-it has made her keep all the pieces together! I would recommend this toy to anyone with a little girl! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Ideal baby shower gift
As a purchaser of the Money Savvy Pig for the past several years I am delighted with the new larger size and the ease at which the money can be taken out when it comes time to transfer the money to the bank or to spend on the goal that the child determined.I buy several at a time to have on hand for baby showers. Most of the other guests want to buy one for their children too.I also used them for Christmas gifts for my neighbor girls who were saving money for their summer camp. I've even had teens ask where they can get one.The Money Savvy Pig is a great tool to share with children during Teach Children to Save Week (scheduled for April 26, 2005).

5-0 out of 5 stars Time to Pig Out
What a great gift for kids!I have 4 boys ages 1-8.They all love their pigs.In addition to helping teach them about money management and budgeting, it makes it fun to save. With the plastic pigs, you can see the money in the pig.The kids love fattening up the pig. Also, this was unintentional, but my 1 year old did a pretty good job stress testing the pig.Let's just say the pig can withstand a 1 year old pounding him on a hard wood floor. The kids love putting stickers on the pig saying what they are saving up for as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great gift to kids - Cute and Functional!
I recently ordered two Money Savvy pigs for my two young nieces. Besides for being a good tool to teach the kids about the basic family finance, Money Savvy pigs will help them to develop some important values in life, such as appreciation and being responsible. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars fun toy for playdoh lovers
I bought this toy for my 3 year old daughter who loves playdoh and she loved it ...but the stand that connects to the oven always falls off so we just turn it upside down and play with it that way because there are cool shapes on the underside you can smash playdoh into. overall it is a good playdoh toy for playdoh lovers..

5-0 out of 5 stars One Cool Toy!
I gave this Play-Doh set to my son today for his 4th birthday and he loves it!He spent close to 5 hours straight "cooking" and "making dinner" for my husband and I.It is a great toy and I highly recommend it for kids who like to spend time creating different "meals" and putting them together themselves.I think that it teaches to clean up when done or the play-doh dries out, to wash the dishes and it's just a lot of fun. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Educational and Fun - The Perfect Choice
My daughter is almost 3 years old and "Santa" gave her this present for Christmas. At first, she wasn't that interested, but when she came to me to pretend that one of her toys was "broken" (it wasn't really), I told her to get her tools. As an industrial craftsman, I explained (as best I could) what the purposes of the various tools were. After she pretended to fix her toy, I showed her how to change the bit on the cordless drill motor so that it could be used as a cordless screwdriver. Then, I showed her how the cordless screwdriver could be used on the plastic bolt and plastic nut. After a few minutes, she picked up the concept and was able to do it herself. The reversing switch on the drill is a nice touch that allows it to either drive the bolts into the nuts, or remove the bolts from the nuts. The box wrench comes in handy here as well. This is a fantastic product that I hope does not get permanently discontinued.

4-0 out of 5 stars Loads of fun for your little builder
Even though this is recommended for ages 3+ because of the small parts, my son has had this since about 20 months. He LOVES playing with all the "power" tools and screwing things together. My only complaint is that these tools don't have enough "wood" and "screw" bits to make it fun to play with for more than 20-30 minutes. (Battat makes toy trucks and planes that screw together using similar tools.) Other than that, he gets a big kick out of helping Daddy and having his own set of tools. I would recommend this for girls as well as boys. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Polly's practical, and so is her multi-tasking, 9-inch long VW bus. The bus is also cool, because it transforms into a trendy apartment or nightclub below deck, and café deck or smoothie lounge above deck, with just a few adjustments. The luggage rack, in addition, becomes an elevator, and the dance floor plays music and lights up. The bus also accommodates the gang's (Polly, with pals Shani and Drew) myriad interests and outfits; it holds a blinding assortment of tiny clothes, decorations, beauty products, electronics, and equipment, all with storage space. If pretend-play is what your kid is looking for, there's a lot to play with here--including a free, small handheld game for kids to get the set. Choking Hazard: Small parts. 1-0 out of 5 stars what a pain in the hinny -
Do not buy this party bus... it is the worst piece of polly pocket toys. The bus is a maze to put together and take apart. Durability nada... keep shopping..

3-0 out of 5 stars 2princessesmom
I bought each of my daughters one of these-it is a cute idea, but a bit difficult to transform into the deck from a bus for them. They are of the required age of the toy-yet-taking out the floor and popping it out into the deck is a challenge-while you are trying to do this the deck walls usually pop off-forget about the "elevator" -the first time we tried to put it together one of the green pegs to slip into the slot broke off and rendered it useless. The ropes that are connected to the dance floor rarely stay in the up position even when on a table or flat surface. It is also a finger squisher if your kids are not careful-when you attempt to close the bus up by pressing on the back pink button-the fingers usually take a beating in the process.Yes, the pieces are small-but this is Polly Pocket-the name itself says it all. This is a cute toy-but it is not exactly easy for kids under age 6 or less to put it together and it is a bit on the whimpy side as far as durability is concerned. If you buy this toy for your daughter just be prepared for mom or dad to help out quite a bit.

3-0 out of 5 stars Club Groove Deluxe Gift Set
This toy is very fun because you can transform the bus into many things. Also it is fun to mix and match the clothes for the dolls. Some of the bad things are the parts are small and easily lost. Also the clothes can break easily. It is not educational, but fun. ... Read more

We got this for my 18 month old daughter, who has had a constant fascination with our broom. She loved it! She plays with it so much. Abracadabra! Now kids can mystify an audience with MagicRainbows, Rabbit and Rings, Tricky String, Mystery Tube, MagnetizedWand, and more. My First Magic Set holds 12 fun tricks, complete propsand secrets for presenting them, and the carrying case to take the showon the road. All magicians need is the cape and top hat. Actually, the4-to-8-year-olds for whom this set is intended probably also need adulthelp in reading the well-written and illustrated, 16-page "SecretInstruction Booklet." Parents and kids get together doing the lightassembly necessary (such as separating the perforated sheet of cards, folding cardboard to form the magic box, applying a sticker) to four ofthe tricks. Then pore over the step-by-step pictures and instructionsbefore the little magician goes off to perfect the sleight of hand. Forextra help, every trick's instructions are accompanied by a "Secret"that summarizes and explains the key to the trick. (Example: "Thehidden finger hole allows you to secretly reach in and 'untie' thestring.") A sure-fire hit--better start sewing that cape and top hat.--Ava Natov ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun
This is a kit with directions and equipment for ten magic tricks. Some of the items are made of paper and seem a bit flimsy. I agree with the previous reviewer who said the stacking boxes needed some reshaping. However, overall, this is a great kit.

My son worked hard practicing and practicing and showing off his magic tricks. We did one a day for a few days running. It taught him to work at practice and it helped him practice his speaking in public (since he performed for everyone!)He was able to complete most of the magic tricks with little help after one demonstration. Lots of fun.

Enjoy.

4-0 out of 5 stars AbraCadabra!!
A first Magic set for my 5 year old, he loves it!!He and his friends have created magic acts for each other and have laughed all the way.The tricks are easy enough for their age to try, and remember how to do. The directions come with pictures, so they can figure them out if the wording is too comlplicated. The set itself is durable enough fot most tricks to be done over and over. The blocks take some reshaping and the rabbit ring trick does not really fit right, but overall, a good first set.It definately was the hit ofa rainy Sunday!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the beginner magician
This is an easy to understand and simple to set-up magic kit for the first time magician. If your child is a reader, then they are capable of presenting most of the tricks independently. A plus! My seven year old enjoys demonstrating his magic tricks for family. His four year old sister loves to watch, and if allowed, to be an assistant. A great buy! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute but very small
My niece fell in love with the costumes and I agree they are adorable. There is (1) small problem, my niece is an average size 6 and these are very small for her. The ad says 3 and up but the little girl does not look that small. It was very deceiving and disappointing!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Value for imaginative play
These costumes are very cute and the barbie costumes are very much like the little girl costumes, down to the feather boas and other accessories.Comes flat, so if you are purchasing as a gift you may want to build the box and unwrap the costumes so it is ready to play with when opened.

3-0 out of 5 stars Where's the doll???
Bought this for my little girl for X-Mas.The photos make it appear that a doll comes with this... Nope!Just the barbie doll outfits.Thats okay but I think that should be made clear.I was a little surprised to find that there was not at least one barbie doll included...

5-0 out of 5 stars Great quality learning toy that will last generations!
When you find food type items for your child they are either plastic or tiny paper packages that are damaged with mimimal play, not so with Melissa & Dog wooden toys! And it's only through play do our children learn about things they will do when they grow up.

The birthday cake is a huge hit in our home with our 28 month old daughter and I assume will only continue as she grows! Whats nice is that your child can create their very own cake creations. The Happy birthay round piece comes off so you can celebrate any reason to bake a cake and they even thought of adding lite birthday candles as well. There are jelly bean, strawberries and gum drops to decorate their cake creation. The cake is divided into pie shaped wedges and would also be perfect for discussing fractions later on down the road. Everything is held together with a nice sturdy velrco. A red plate and also cake cutter are also included and everything fits nicely into the wooden box and has a platic top that easily slides on and off for older children. This is a toy that will last though out the years and is definately worth every penny!

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun with food
Most of Melissa & Doug toys are durable wooden toys but this set is not as durable as the others. We have had this toy for about three or four months and the red wooden serving platter has a number of marks on it.The other pieces are holding up much better. My girls still have tons of fun, but it is something to consider when buying this item.

5-0 out of 5 stars Favorite Christmas toy - girls ages 2 &4
I picked this out as a Christmas gift for my 2 girls (ages 2&4) after reading the other reviews.Everyday is a birthday around here (teddy, puppy, dolly, etc..), so this toy gets a lot of use.It has been out just about everyday since Christmas, and I'd say it's one of their favorites. It does make nice sounds, the quality is great, and the storage box is a plus. At first there were issues with "sharing" the toy, but lately they have split the cake in half first, then they decorate their own half !Great toy, fair price. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Idea! (but the quality could use some work)
My twin sons got this for christmas when they were 3.They loved it!!!The dog is so cuddly and cute. They loved playing pretend with the accessories. My only complaint is that within a day the latch was falling off, the syringe was coming apart, and the brush had lost a couple of bristles. The boys had not played rough with it, it just wasn't the quality that I had hoped for.It is a real favorite of theirs, I am just afraid that it won't last as long as their imaginations.I think that with a few improvements it will be a fantastic toy.A real winner for young children in the hospital.

A fun learning toy for budding homemakers, this massive multipurpose unit is designed with electronic sensors that recognize the make-believe foods and housewares that accompany the set and respond affirmably with more than 50 different phrases. ("What a great cook!") A two-burner stovetop sits aside a sink and a cordless phone, handy for chatting with a friend. Above rests a shelf with a microwave oven, digital radio, and coffeemaker, while stationed below are a refrigerator, oven, and dishwasher. adjacent to this, swinging out from the kitchen base, is a laundry center complete with an ironing board situated atop a stackable washer and dryer, all equipped with appropriate sound effects. The toy is multilingual, able to speak in English, Spanish, or French. Included are 21 accessories such as a grilled cheese sandwich, a sauté pan, cups, plates, and silverware. 5-0 out of 5 stars Getting better all of the time
What a fun idea for a kitchen. My one year old got this for her birthday and I am sure that it will be a hit for years to come. Both of my girls (1 and 4) gat a kick out of this kitchen.

The baby loves to open and close the doors (which by the way are strong enough to handle her hanging from them)

The phone is so cute.It makes similar sounds to a real phone. What a great idea for kids who love to push the buttons on the real telephone.

The food is great! When you place it on the burner it talks to you about what you're "cooking."My 4 year old loves it and tells me that it is "magic."

The laundry center is a perfect add on because kids love to pretend to help with that too! There is a problem with the iron, though. It has 2 sensors under the handle that must be covered for it to make any noise. That's difficult even for my 4 year old to operate.

Overall this is a great toy.Well worth the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars VERY EDUCATIONAL
My little sister learned how to speak some thing in spanish and some in french boy am I jealous of her and her little toy.But besides it's a great toy.to the other comments the people speak slow too it's just that you don't know the language.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice kitchen, but could have more bells and whistles
I bought this kitchen for my 2 year old son because he loves to help in the kitchen and the laundry room. He has daily chores that he does and gets stickers for, so I thought he would love this kitchen. I looked at all the reviews and decided that this was the best one in the $100 range---still think it is. Seems durable, was easy to assemble (45 min), nice folding for storage, or just to use less space. Nice accessories included, great colors and cute stickers, phone works well, stove sounds are great, but a bit fussy. Love all the appliances that it has--lots to choose from.Colors are unisex---nice for boy helpers as well as girls.
But Little Tikes could have done so much more---maybe I should go into toy design. The iron sound button is very fussy---barely works really. The iron doesn't even fit into the iron holder--who did this?---duh?! The stove is also a bit fussy about recognizing when there is something interactive placed on it, and it is the only interactive part of the whole kitchen. The Spanish is spoken in Catalan dialect and is almost undecipherable and very fast. I can speak some Spanish, and live where it is widely spoken and was hoping my son would pick some of it up from this kitchen--NOT. French is fine, though a bit fast spoken. The sounds from the stove are just a bit garbled sounding overall. The microwave, oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, radio, fridge, water/ice server and overhead fan make no noise whatsoever---what a loss of oportunity. Would have been great if at least a couple of the other appliances were interactive too. I bought all 4 food packs for it and they are great, but I would like more accessories to be available, including pots to match the ones that came with the set...Also some storage cabinets for food and dishes would be great, especially since they could fit on the other side of the kitchen.
Generally very satisfied. Great toy that my son is enjoying. But would like to see more thought go into this interactive vein of toys.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gracie loves it!
my almost 4 year old daughter Gracie, just received the kitchen last week and absolutely loves it.My husband assembled it, he said the instructions were very easy and clear.the only problem is that in the packaging of the item, a small plastic piece was broken off, the piece that makes the oven door click shut. Now that the item is out of stock, we have to wait to have the kitchen replaced with a new one in perfect condition.Gracie is unaffected by this though, she loves it, loves all the accessories. It's really a cute, big-girl kitchen for any Barbie fan.

4-0 out of 5 stars Brittney loves her Barbie kitchen!!!!!!!!!
This was one of my almost 3 daughters christmas gifts. It took awhile to put together, I had a rough time with one screw because it was very difficult to maneuver the screwdrive in that particular part, otherwise it went smoothly. My daughter loves the fact that"Barbie just calls her out of the blue", she plays with it and sits down for a snack or something and all of a sudden it is Barbie on the phone. She just had her birthday and it was fun for her to hear Barbie "telling her how much she likes birthday parties. Santa had his heart set on the disney kitchen, but is was out of stock, but we are pretty satisfied with his choice and most of all so is Brittney.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not the best kitchen
I bought this toy for my almost 4-year old and 2-year old daughters. They wanted it so bad for Christmas, but hasn't been played with very much. It has a lot of screws and took a long time to put together...some of the screws were very difficult to get in, both because of tightness and because you can't manuever your hand and screwdriver around the toy itself. Once it was all together, it looked great, but the refrigerator doesn't exactly close right. Also, the sink comes out because it is not screwed down and doesn't snap in. I'm also just waiting for it to fall over, because it isn't very heavy, and I've seen it tip several times while my girls played with it. The food pieces are very sturdy plastic, but there aren't enough pieces. I think we'll end up using food from other toys that we have, just so there's enough to go around! There are only 2 plates and 2 cups, along with 2 sets of forks and spoons. Once my 3rd daughter grows up, I'm afraid she'll be left out! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Bat Dad 2
I bought the Bat belt for my son again. Now he is four going on five. I have learned that if I put the belt on him and pull it real snug past the last loop then use some duct tape for a few wraps, he can squeeze in and out of it real easy and it stays on him while he is playing. He loves it now. Bat tip. Pick a closet and hang a dark sheet down in the open doorway with a flashlight on in the closet. Then line up a few chairs with a sheet over them connecting to the closet entrance. Then hang a Batman costume with the Bat Belt and mask in the closet. Set some music playing from the first Batman movie. 1990. My son crawls through the chairs like a batcave entrance to find his costume waiting for him in the closet. Then he crawls back out to do battle with me while the music is playing. Sometimes I surprise him, he hears the music and runs to the den cause he knows it's Bat time.

4-0 out of 5 stars Bat Belt
I got this belt for my 4 yr old.Its HUGE!I need to layer him up and put it on the last setting to stay on. Either that or feed him an entire box of hoho's/ring dings a day. That is a bit dissapointing.Other than this belt is 200% nicer than the belt that comes with the mask/cape/talking chest plate. (which is why we needed to buy this belt.)He plays with it maybe 2-3 times a week since recieving it from Santa.Would be nice if the company offered a delux set with all the nice masks, gloves, cape and belts vs needed to buy 3 sets from the same manufacturer just to get the right look.

My suggestion is get the muscle holloween costume and get this belt. That would be the ultimate play costume...but I couldn't find the halloween costume around Christmas... so santa had to improvise and bring this with the other sets. The belt is nicer than the glove set and the talking chest plate set.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Value
I bought this belt for my son's 3rd Christmas and although it was too big for his waist - he still enjoyed 'the gear' that came with the belt.He has played with this belt many times over the years, and so have his friends. He's 5 1/2 now and wore the belt as part of his Halloween costume.Everything still works just like when we bought it.If you use rubber bands to hold the 'gear' down your little caped crusader is ready for anything. He played the button for people giving out candy and everyone, the people giving out candy, the other trick-or-treaters and Robby had a blast! ... Editorial Review

Polly Pocket is slowly building an empire of accessories and alternative homes that may soon rival her more famous colleague Barbie. But unlike Her Pinkness, Polly doesn't seem intent on pursuing a wide variety of challenging careers, preferring instead to just hang out and enjoy all her cool stuff. In this sprawling set, Polly has a bike with which she can haul around a small popcorn cart, enhancing her popularity in the resort setting depicted in the rest of the set. Also included is a four-room hotel setting with bedroom, living room, bathroom, and patio. And capping it all off is a sort of combination Ferris wheel and roller coaster where little cars are spun to the top of a wheel before rolling down a curving ramp to the wheel's base. As with any Polly Pocket set, there are zillions of tiny accessories; this makes pretend play all the more fun but parents should make sure very young kids get nowhere near. --Charlie Williams ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A Great Vacation
I was very pleased when I got this toy. It was a blast, it even has a roller coaster that connects to the hotel. It comes with a good amount of trendy stretchy clothes. The popcorn set with Lea is also fun. This toy would be a great toy for a birthday or other holiday. This toy doesn't really have any educational value, but it is still a great toy. So if you're not sure if you are going to get it or not in my opinion I would recommend this toy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool..indoors and out
These playskool 'working toys' are the greatest. we own the mower and the vacuum for my 2 yr old..he LOVES them both. Very durable and not too loud that it drives the parents crazy but makes cute talking sounds and working sounds. Definitely a great gift for a 2 yr old and up.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy
My 2 year old son got this as a gift for his birthday in September, so he's been using it in the house all winter and just loves it.Thankfully he doesn't mind that I turned off the sound effects when he races around the house with it.I know he's going to enjoy using it outside!!VERY STURDY!We got a bubble blower mower last summer and it was hard to push on grass and was very flimsy...plus the bubbles only worked for a few minutes. This one is a keeper, however!!

2-0 out of 5 stars This toys needs a manners lesson!
The durability is fine, it moves on grass well and the mowing sound is cute...BUT the faces can be a little scary for younger or more timid children. The MOST IMPORTANT part...the phrases this mower has and the fact that it burps...it is just rude and unecessary! These are things I want to teach my children not to do.We returned it and purchased the Little Tykes mower for now and we are considering a John Deer. ...
