Just Like Home - Electronic Cash Register
I guess you get what you pay for.It's very inexpensive and the first thing to go is the hand held scanner, and it goes very quickly.I brought it back to the store for another, but the scanner for that one broke quickly also, and the salesperson said that there were a lot of complaints about that for this item.My daughter accumulated a lot of play money in different denominations so she could learn to count money, but alas, the drawer was too small to accommodate it. (The money that comes with the register is not realistic-looking, so it doesn't promote currency and coin recognition.)Basically, this toy may be fine for young children, but it doesn't grow with them because it won't last and even if it did, it has limitations that prevent its use from being expanded as your child's skills advance.Unless you're not interested in durability, longevity or educational value, you're better off with the Pretend and Play cash register from Learning Resources for three times the price of this one.

Don't waste your money
My Daughter loved this toy, I guess a little too much the second day the microphone stopped working, the Conveyor Scanner stopped beeping and the credit card slider stopped making noise as well. Buy anything else but this one.

Disappointed
Well, had I taken the time to read the other reviews before I bought this toy, I wouldn't have purchased it. I liked the realistic look of this vacuum compared with others I'd seen, but my daughter gave up on it within minutes because, as other people have commented, it won't roll on the carpet. The wheels are really poorly designed and the whole toy is very cheaply made. I am returning it.

flimsy cheap toy
I just bought this toy today and I'm returning it tomorrow.It is the cheapest-made toy I've ever encountered.As soon as I took it out of the box, I could tell right away I would end up regretting this purchase.The one I got came with a dust-buster, which is even worse than the vacuum. Yes, it makes a loud noise and the front lights up, but it scratches the wood floors and is difficult to push across carpet.The front panel has already fallen off, and the panel in front of the "filter" won't stay on.My son loves it, but for the money ($30!!), there has got to be a better made toy vacuum.One last thing....they should NOT advertise that it really works.I wasn't looking for a vacuum that sucks up dirt, but the box says it does, and it doesn't even come close.Unfortunately, at the store, there weren't any other real-looking vacuums to choose from.Does anyone know where I can get a good quality, fun vacuum??

Great for Mommy's little helper....
This toy has been in our house for over 3 1/2 years now and is still a big hit.I don't feel like it is the sturdiest of toys but it does the job.Shortly after we had this, the tiny balls stopped blowing around -- no big deal to my kids though.My little helpers love turning it on and pushing it around the house whenever I pull out my vacuum.My only complaint is that it doesn't really pick anything up!Wouldn't that be a dream!

For the price and the fact that you can interest them in any sort of housework is a plus in my book!My philosopy is: "start 'em early" and this is a great way to begin. ... Read more

Fantastic
My son has three sisters and this is one toy he can call his own.He rides it daily.Although the digger broke after two months, but he still enjoys it.

Love It!!
This is a great ride on plus toy.My nephew got this for his first bday, and LOVES it.He plays on it ALL day long.He even drags it in the house with him.I recommed it 100 percent.

Now your kid can be Super too!
This costume is just as good as the Batman counterpart.Read my review of that for some of the pros and cons.The one thing I liked more about this costume is the sayings that come from the chest piece.They are a bit funnier than the Batman one (one saying is a groan of weakness from exposure to kryptonite; another has a sound effect of heat vision).

More than just a puppet
When my ex-husband, Bobs, left me a few years ago I was sooo lonely. There wasn't anyone to talk to. Sure, I had the kids, but only a couple of them speak English. I've always had a thing for Irish men, so I bought Dan to keep me company. At first I kept him in the closet and just pulled him out to chat occasionally. Once I realized how smart and funny he is, however, we started to spend more and more time together. Now we're inseperable. He's met my family (they just love him) and I'm going to meet his this Christmas. No relationship is perfect, of course. He's extremely difficult to shop for and he doesn't drive; he says it makes him nervous. His sparkling personality and vivacious wit make up for any faults he may have, however. So Adorable!
This has got to be one of the cutest things Hasbro has ever released, especially in the My Little Pony collection! Just like the other so soft baby ponies, Pretty Powder giggles when her front foot is pressed, and will "slirp" from a bottle, hiccup, and yawn. (The sounds are great too--very clear so there's no mistaking what they are!) She's educational since little ones can care for her by feeding her and changing her removable diaper. She's exclusive for her color (a kind of almost neon fuscia with bright magenta, pink, and white hair) and she comes with a fabric head band. This is a fantasic product for any toddler
My friend has one of these and when we go to their house my son and their daughter play in it for hours. I thought it was a great fun for them. They would go in, out and around the tunnel chasing each other for hours on end.

I actually got it for my Jack Russell Terrier
And she loves it.So, I got one for my 2 yr old grandson too and he loves it too.Very sturdy, easy to put away, ok to leave out in the rain.I highly recommend it.

Great physical fun!
My three kids have loved this tunnel since they were two(they are now 5,7 & 9) They still play with it alot. They do a variety of things with it including magic tricks where the child inside will "magically" disappear. It's great exercise too to be on your hands and knees. They also love to play "tornado" with it, where one child gets inside standing up while the others throw stuffed animals into it, meanwhile the child inside throws them back outlike a real tornado does. ... Complete shutdown within a month
Like many other reviewers, we truly loved the idea of this toy - great for learning about money, fun scanning & mic features, acceptable color scheme - but first the mic stopped working (within a couple of weeks after Christmas) then the number screen froze but the register sounds continued.By the end of January everything had completely stopped working (the cash drawer still pops out).We, also, could not find any information about the manufacturer and the gift-giver had long since thrown out receipts.We're quite bummed.Worth noting - the LeapPad register my mom got as a freebie when purchasing a Leapster is still going strong...I hadn't liked it as much because of the fake-looking money, weird 'price tags' and annoyingly perky voice but hey, it WORKS!

My daughter received for xmas last year and it broke about 3 months later. We were very disappointed.

Fun to play with but broke WAY too soon
My 3 year old and her friends and cousins of various ages loved the cash register. (especially the scanning and microphone features) HOWEVER, within a month it had broken.None of the electronic features worked.The toy had only received moderate use in pretty gentle conditions so it must have been very fragile.

We received the item as a gift.Perhaps we received a lemon and if I didn't have a newborn and a job keeping me to busy to follow up, Amazon would have exchanged it.But I didn't have any time to spare.I also couldn't find a website or phone number for Summit to follow up with them.Its really a shame because now that my daughter is 4, I think the toy would be a fun way for her to start learning basic principals of addition and subtraction without even realizing it.

Incidentally, a 2 1/2 year old was over recently and within minutes snapped the microphone off (which didn't matter I guess since it wasn't working for us) so keep this toy away from the younger kids.

Maybe it is worth buying IF you know you can return it if it breaks within the first few months and IF you have time to deal with the hassle of trying to exchange it.If somebody could guaranty me that it would be durable and last a couple years, I'd recommend it in a heartbeat since it is an enjoyable toy. ... great kitchen...for boys too!
these days you can spend upwards of $300 on a toy kitchen for your little one - ridiculous!i personally believe that playing should be about imagination and creativity, not the most expensive toys with the most bells and whistles....that said, i LOVE this kitchen!chicco makes great toys and this one doesn't disappoint.while some might complain that it only makes two "sounds" - the two different stove burners - i think that's one of the best parts of this kitchen.....your child has to use his/her imagination while playing with it instead of having it do everything itself.it's the perfect height for my 2 and 1/2 year old son, he can reach the bits on top and still be comfortable with the stove and refrigerator parts.i have to say, since we got it, he hasn't stopped playingwith it!i can actually get all of the dishes done while he plays with it! (no small feat!)it is also wonderful for those with smaller spaces, and like someone else said, it's in colors that can be either for a boy or girl....boys love to play chef too!i highly recommend the chicco star kitchen.

Very Good...
This was very easy to put together my husband had it snapped together in no time. My toddler (3) loves it and plays with it all the time. Con 1: it falls apart easily in the middle. Con 2: Not for carpeted rooms, my 1 year old keeps pulling on himself easily. Other than that I would recomend this to anyone that wants to have a happy toddler!!

Fantastic pretend play toy, but may have durability issues
I purchased this for my 2 year old daughter, and she absolutely loves it.I purchased an additional set of play food, although she seemed to be perfectly happy with the food that came with the set.There are a couple of things I'd point out.The oven door, does not stay shut and the top comes off every time I try to lift it.Still very happy with it though.I would warn those folks with shorter toddlers that the top is used to store the plates, etc. and it can fall over if pulled (it's very light). ... What a fun toy
I got this for my daughter for Christmas. She was 2 and 3 months.She just loves it.It's a little messy since she has to have H20 but I just put a towel underneath, give her 1/2 a pot of water and let her go.It has taught her to pour without making a huge mess.Of course, she likes to try to drink out of the straw where the water comes out but that's no big deal.Education value is subjective and hard to rate.We have enjoyed it and purchased 2 others for gifts as well.Enjoy!

just so cute and fun too
i bought this for my 2 1/2 yo daughter this christmas. so far her and my 5 year old son love it and it must be a big seller since the price has gone up $10 in 2 months. i would have liked to see a more durable coffee pot as well, i imagine if it hits our tile kitchen floor a couple more times we will be glueing ours back together too. otherwise, even my nephews,4 and 6 yo, who are the ruff and tumble type--they like trucks and trains and anything they can jump on took time out to make coffee in their little cousins kitchen. it is just too cute.

Great toy
My son loves watching us make coffee and really loves this toy, especially when he found out you can really run water through. The sound effects are great. The only problems I've had is that the pot is not very durable and it's made in two pieces. My son dropped it and hit it against something and it split apart. We've glued it back together (several times) and it works fine, but would have been better as one piece. My son loved playing with this outside so he could run as much water through it as possible. However, the button that sounded like the coffee brewing has quit working (less than 6months). The age for this item is 3 or 4 yrs, my son is only 17 months, so I kept that in mind with the two problems. He still plays with it and loves his coffee pot. ... Read more

Missing parts
I sent this theatre to my niece for her birthday.My sister said it arrived without the assembly kit (screws, etc.).Amazon was not able to ship the kit separately.My sister felt it was easier to buy the assembly parts from a hardware store than to pack up and return the theatre for another one.Amazon has offered to refund 20% of the price for the inconvenience, and my sister said that my niece (6 years old) and nephew (8 years old) love the theatre now that it's put together.Maybe the delayed gratification was good for them.

Not as Advertised
I am sort of shocked that this toy is still being described as a theatre with a clock and two puppets.Amazon had assured me that they would change the item's description.

I ordered this item and was surprised that the picture on the box was a different theatre than the one I had ordered, I opened it and found that it is a theatre with no clock and no puppets.I contacted amazon and they said that the description was wrong and that it would be changed immediateley.They sent me a returned merchandise authorization.But it was a day before my Daughter's 5th Birthday and she had been staring at the box for days and decided she wanted it.So we kept it.We found puppets elsewhere.

As for durabillity and fun, it has stayed together with 2 rough and rowdy kids.They rarely use it for puppets though, it's a fort and a lemonade stand and a store and the DMV (LOL)!

My daughter uses the little chalkboard to practice writing a lot and the tear away curtains delight my son.One word of caution, the little star toggles used to keep the curtains pulled back come off with minimal effort and do pose a choking hazard.My son is 2, so I pulled them off and hid them till he's older.

All in all it's a good theatre, and well made as all the Alex toys are, it gets used every day.

Here's a realistic toy chainsaw, made of sturdy orange plasticwith a black handle and a blue knuckle guard. The "blade" is made ofsilver-colored plastic and has a kid-safe plastic chain. The chainsawhas three blue buttons. One press-type button makes an engine-y sort ofnoise that is truly loud and could be very satisfying for the would-belogger. Luckily it stops on its own after about five seconds. So doesthe trigger-type button on the handle that makes the chain on the blademove while making more saw-like sounds. Not ideal for cutting up bodies...
When I got this I was like, REALLY excited, because I could finally hack up all those bodies I was hiding in the garage. Much to my surprise, the thing didn't even work! All it did was make "realistic" chainsaw sounds! What good does THAT do?! None, I say! I'd be better off using the dull pocket knife that one guy used to cut half his arm off with.

Great entertainment for a little boy
We bought the chain saw for a 2 yr old and he loves it! He still plays with it after a year.

Received this as a gag gift.... NOT funny!
My son (3) received this as a gift from my uncle who lives more than 100 miles away so he will never have to hear the racket that this toy makes. When my son opened this toy and started it up my uncle let out an evil laugh and and said "Do you wanna' kill me?!?!" He then told me that he only bought it as a joke to annoy me and gave my son his "real" gift.Anyway, this toy is waaaaaay too loud. I even think that it might exceed the acceptible decible level for a child's toy but that's just my opinion.Would I buy this toy for someone elses child? Well.... yes. Breakfast Set
I bought this for my son, I wanted to get him a playset that will encourage pretending.I found this one at a discount store - must say I spent much less than it is priced here.But, I would spend the extra money to buy it full priced from Amazon because he loves it so much.The biggest initial seller on this toy was the fact that it wasnt a tea set!Its a coffee set and not too gender specific.The toaster is still too hard for him to work (he is only 15 months old), he can push down the toast but cant turn the timer.But, he loves the coffee pot sounds and "drinking" from the cups.This is a great, durable toy!

What are you making us for breakfast?
LOVE this set!Don't know if the brewing coffe sounds or the pop up toaster is my daughters favorite, but both make her smile and giggle.This set is durable enough that I have no question it will last for my 2nd daughter to play with also!

Happiest Child
Batman is my daughter's hero!!When she opened the box and seen this costume she was just overwhelmed.She put the costume on and thought that we all believed that she was in fact the REAL BATMAN.She did not want to take it off.She is three.The small fit her well.Mom and Dad like it so well because the fiber optic Batseal lights up and the utility belt is a reflector.All of which will help her be more visible on Halloween night!

Breakable Special
Within three hours of my daughter playing with the cleaning set, two pieces were broken.The broom casing had cracked and the apron is only being held to the tie by a few pieces of thread.

The broom cracked after she was sweeping her bedroom carpeting.

The apron started to tare when my daughter tried to take off the apron without untying completely.

The brooms and assesories are made for a two to three year old, while the gloves are made for a nine year old.I know because I had a nine year old try them on.

Neither of these actions should have caused a toy to break so easily.In my opinion this product is cheaply made and I don't recommend wasting your money on it.

great pretend play!
My daughter, 4 at the time, bought this with her own money at Toys R Us and really loves it. She still uses it at 5 1/2.My only three complaints are 1) we got 2 left gloves;2) the apron is not a soft plastic, so it doesn't fold well or tie easily; 3) since the mop is made with yarn, you can't really mop with it, so I am constantly catching my daughter as she smears lint all over the floor I have just mopped :-)I suppose we could have exchanged the playset for one with two working gloves, but it was not worth the time...she wouldn't have used them anyway.

It is perfect for kids to "help" you clean up, and they love to immitate you and work alongside you.If the mop were made with cotton instead of synthetic yarn, perhaps it would be nicer.

I think this was a good fun purchase, and it is perfect for pretend play.

Not very durable
I got this for my son who loves to help me clean.He loves it, but just like the other reviews, the handles on the mop and broom broke pretty quickly.It has some serious duct tape on it.My son still uses it, but it's just kind of disappointing that it broke so easily. ... Read more

Slide doesn't stay together
We're on our second one of these toys b/c my daughter absolutely loves Polly Pockets and Water Slides.The slide doesn't stay together for more than 1 minute at a time...definitely not worth your time and money.

Piece of junk!!
My little sister got this for a present, and it broke in a week. The little, thin slots that hold the pieces of the slides together broke off, so water leaks through it. The slide falls off every 2 seconds, too. Also the Pollys can't go down the slide if they have their suits on, because they get stuck. The only good thing about this is the seal-he slides down REALLY fast and is the only thing that didn't break!

SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!
I use this every time I want to play with water pollys. I have the whole set of Wild Waves, so I make them into a Water Park. I have the Pool Party Set, also, so I add that to my water park. This particular part of the Intelli Tikes series is pretty misleading.I bought the MagiCook stove for my 18month old son believing that we were getting an interactive stove as well as oven.The stovetop responds to different food items that you place on it and even makes remarks about unusual food combinations such as cookies and french fries.I was confused when the same did not happen whenever we placed items in the oven.I called Little Tykes believing that this was a product defect, and they explained that there is no sensor in the oven.This was a little baffling seeing as how they sell baked goods as part of the product series.They weren't able to offer any answers when I asked why an "Intelli" baked good would only worked when placed on a stovetop.Fried birthday cake, that's intelligent! If it weren't for the talking stovetop, I wouldhave returned the stove.I would strongly advise against buying any of the baked items that come with this set if you plan using this item to teach your darlings about how to bake. ...
