Good for parents and kids
Jack in the Box is a great toy for older children or for parents and kids to do together.My 18 month old cannot turn the handle in the correct direction and gets easily frustrated that "Jack" doesn't pop out!But when we do it together or my older son does it with her she laughs and loves to play with this toy.

My Son's New Favorite Toy
My son LOVES this toy.He is 2 1/2 and it only took him a time or two to figure out how to get Jack back in the box by himself.He plays with it all the time, and never fails to get excited when Jack jumps out at him.You don't have to completely finish the song to get jack back in, you just have to make sure the song finishes the "pop" note.The music is a very traditional music box sound, and not annoying in the least.We suspected he would love a jack in the box, and had trouble finding one that worked well.This one is fantastic.

Love it and leave it
This is a great toy...for a small amount of time. After a minute or two my son gets bored of it because it only does one thing and only plays one tune. Not great for younger kids because jack is hard to get back into the box and I think the young ones will have a hard time (sometimes I have a hard time...lol). This is a must have for all, hands down...
You haven't lived until Charlie McCarthy has sat in your house and talked. I wanted a dummy since I was about 6, and on my 11th birthday, I finally got it (A 5 year wait. Kinda annoying). I wanted one because of the Goosebumps(tm) series character "Slappy". I was hyperactive when I heard they were going to release a live action series. So I sat with a HUGE bowl of popcorn... and the dummy looked awful. His eyebrows, mouth, face, and hair were all different. I won't go into the details. It takes to long. Anyways, I heard that there was a Slappy eddition doll and I immidiately wanted it. My mom said no way, and I understand why. I was 11, and I was afraid of the dark. I could see him sitting in the closet. His eyes glowing. It would have terrified me. So, my mom suggested a Slappy lookalike, because even so, I wasn't thrilled that I couldn't get Slappy. I saw this one with a monocle and tux, so I asked my mom about it. She was amazed at how easy I got over Slappy and ordered my a Charlie. Then, on my birthday, I got him. I was excited and immidiately searched high and low for books on ventriloquism. I found a few, got some webpages, and now I'm pretty good at it. My baby brother love Charlie a lot. He likes to see him talk, because charlie seems so real to him. A must for anyone, and a NO QUESTIONS ASKED must for Big brothers and sisters with baby siblings. A great product, worth every penny. super soft, an excellent puppet!
I knew Folkmanis would never disappoint but was still thrilled at the high quality of this puppet. Folkmanis puppets are consistently great quality, of beautiful design, and fun to use. This puppet, however, is exceptionally soft, almost velvety in texture. A great toy for little ones to hug and hold as well as a fun puppet. Using your hand, one can move the mouth and swing the trunk a bit.

My children love this puppet! This large puppet is a must-have for puppet lovers and elephant lovers!

Good idea - very poor quality
We were so excited to order this item. Sadly the quality is very poor. We have had it set up for less than a week and the front "counter" has broken off and one of the front panels has had a leg rip off. My kids love the idea of this item but it is extremely flimsy particle type board -it has basically disintergrated berfore our eyes . Even with general play it sways back and forth, a little scary if little ones are playing in it.I am going to call the maker - hopefully we can repair this (...)

Fun, Colorful and Durable!
I bought this last year for Christmas and my girls use it virtually every day.They have put on puppet productions, used it as a lemonade stand, a club house, a shop and a thousand other uses.As you can see, it is extemely colorful and surprizingly durable.This was money well spent.I highly recommend it.

Great imaginations at work!

Cute monkey
My music teacher Had a puppet (a monkey)and the whole class loved it. The name was EGABDF (notes of the staff). Onen day my friend called me and told me were to find EGABDF (here on computer) so I bought it. We both named them after the real EGABDF (she got it for her birthday before I orded it). Since they have the same name we decided mine would be girl hers would be boy. So for short mine is Ega and hers is Egg. I love this puppet and I am 11 years old.

Best Puppet Maker I've found
We have several Folkmanis puppets including this monkey.My kids (both preschoolers) have been playing with this toy off and on for over a year and a half. It shows very little wear. Their favorite game is "pull the monkey's tail" which should tell you how durable it is.The fur is wonderfully soft, it's easy to make it come off as expressive.It is a little large for small hands to work....I have been so pleased with the quality of this company's product that I don't mind spending a little bit more or searching for them. ... I Love Snowy Owls!
She is one of the cutest toys that I ever got in my whole life!She looks real, and she looks just like Harry Potter's owl, Hedwig.

Fun puppet... actually quite awesome
I bought this one and the Emperor Penguin puppet for my baby... she loves them both.

The owl is awesome, soft... the head rotates all the way around via a stick inside.I can maneuver the wings and head at the same time with one hand, which really entertains my daughter.

Cuddly and interactive
This snowy owl is a part of my plush/puppet collection, and I don't regret the addition. The head can be turned and the wings flapped with your hand, and patches of velcro allow the wings to be folded back realisticly when not spread. The material is very soft, and the beak and talons are leather, not plastic. My only nitpick is that the feet have only three claws, when they should have four. More than just a puppet
When my ex-husband, Bobs, left me a few years ago I was sooo lonely. There wasn't anyone to talk to. Sure, I had the kids, but only a couple of them speak English. I've always had a thing for Irish men, so I bought Dan to keep me company. At first I kept him in the closet and just pulled him out to chat occasionally. Once I realized how smart and funny he is, however, we started to spend more and more time together. Now we're inseperable. He's met my family (they just love him) and I'm going to meet his this Christmas. No relationship is perfect, of course. He's extremely difficult to shop for and he doesn't drive; he says it makes him nervous. His sparkling personality and vivacious wit make up for any faults he may have, however. Folkmanis Inc. puppets are the best
My son and I are very lucky because we have almost all of the Folkmanis puppet collection. They are all great, and we really like Penguin. We make up stories or we do stories from my son's library or school books. The kids love to put on shows for us. I put up one of those security cameras with the monitor so they can see themseves and they have a ball. Of course I had to get a puppet house/stage that they use to give shows or even play other games in. It is fun and imaginative for parents and kids.These puppets are VERY well made also. And they are plush and soft, just like stuffed animals, in fact, you have to look hard to find the puppet pocket! Highly recommended for LOTS of fun! Missing parts
I sent this theatre to my niece for her birthday.My sister said it arrived without the assembly kit (screws, etc.).Amazon was not able to ship the kit separately.My sister felt it was easier to buy the assembly parts from a hardware store than to pack up and return the theatre for another one.Amazon has offered to refund 20% of the price for the inconvenience, and my sister said that my niece (6 years old) and nephew (8 years old) love the theatre now that it's put together.Maybe the delayed gratification was good for them.

Not as Advertised
I am sort of shocked that this toy is still being described as a theatre with a clock and two puppets.Amazon had assured me that they would change the item's description.

I ordered this item and was surprised that the picture on the box was a different theatre than the one I had ordered, I opened it and found that it is a theatre with no clock and no puppets.I contacted amazon and they said that the description was wrong and that it would be changed immediateley.They sent me a returned merchandise authorization.But it was a day before my Daughter's 5th Birthday and she had been staring at the box for days and decided she wanted it.So we kept it.We found puppets elsewhere.

As for durabillity and fun, it has stayed together with 2 rough and rowdy kids.They rarely use it for puppets though, it's a fort and a lemonade stand and a store and the DMV (LOL)!

My daughter uses the little chalkboard to practice writing a lot and the tear away curtains delight my son.One word of caution, the little star toggles used to keep the curtains pulled back come off with minimal effort and do pose a choking hazard.My son is 2, so I pulled them off and hid them till he's older.

All in all it's a good theatre, and well made as all the Alex toys are, it gets used every day.

Ages 3-9... eh... and adults too.
This was an excellent present for my friend's 3 year old daughter. She fell in love with this puppet immediately! First off, as the picture shows, this thing is HUGE for a child. While 2-3 year olds might have some trouble with the opperation, it's great a great toy for parents to use while playing with their children (kids particularly love it when the serpent turns on you and attacks your other hand and/or throat).

Unlike other hand puppets, not only do you control the mouth, but also the eyes. With a little practice you can manipulate the eyes while controlling the mouth. This is a great gift for any child, and is a great medium for parents to spend time with their children having fun. ... Read more

Good toy for the price.
I tried to find regular colorforms and couldn't.This is a good game for the money, but the clothes don't stick on very well.Although the pieces are colorful, cute and durable.

The love of my daughter's life
