Editorial Review

This pink and purple girl's trike is equipped with everything a beginning rider would want or anticipate from Radio Flyer. Besides being for first-time riders--excitement enough--it comes with a list of confidence-inspiring features, besides having three large, sturdy wheels on a lightweight metal frame to prevent toppling. There's also a large bucket seat for maximum comfort; easy to reach pedals with foot brakes; easy-grip handle bars with wind-lovin' tassels; a rear-end basket for all kinds of toddler "stuff; and a kitschy finger bell kids will love to ring as they turn blind corners in the house. New riders will take pride in every pedal with a trike so well-equipped. --Diane Beall ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Dangerous Trike
We just got this trike at toysrus for our 24 month old daughter. It looked so adorable online and in the store, and looked fairly similar to the Kettler that my older daughter had.The price was a plus, as well. However, once we got it home and tried it out, it did not take long to figure out how dangerous this trike is.The first try at a turn and WHAM!the trike tipped and fell over.I thought this might have been a fluke and that perhaps my daughter was not sitting on the trike correctly, so I got her back on and away she went again.About the 3rd or 4th try at a turn and WHAM! Again, the trike tipped and fell over, and this time she got a slightly bloody nose from hitting the pavement hard, face first.Needless to say, I put the bike away immediately and I am returning it ASAP.This trike is definitely a hazard.

We have NEVER had a problem with our older daughter's Kettler Blossom trike. It has NEVER tipped. So, this incident took me by surprise and afterward, I compared the trikes. Although I am not an engineer, it seems fairly clear to me why the Kettler is infinitely more stable.First, the distance between the two back wheels on the Radio Flyer is only 11 inches. On the Kettler, the distance is 14 inches, a full 3 inches wider. Also, the distance front to back on the Kettler is longer. Finally, the wheels on the Kettler are bigger.

Another plus for the Kettler is that the frame is adjustable and as your child grows, you can lengthen the frame to accomodate longer legs. The Radio Flyer is not adjustable. This wasn't a concern for me, because I figured that when my younger daughter outgrew her trike, she would start riding my older daughter's adjustable Kettler, while my older daughter would get a regular bike.

In any event, you don't need to take just my word for it.Please, please, please take a look at the reviews for the Radio Flyer Fold-2-Go trike, which is the EXACT SAME TRIKE as this one, but it is red and blue instead of pink and purple. There are several reviewers of that trike that have had the same experience with tipping. This is an important safety issue and should be of great concern to all parents of young toddlers who are shopping for trikes.

Now, the Kettler is much more expensive, but they make the SAME tricycle as the Blossom, but with a different name and much less expensive. It's called the Kiddi-o Simba. I've just contaced Kettler and verified that it is basically the same trike with the same dimensions and safety features.(you can go to www.kiddi-o.com and call the toll free number yourself.)Plus, it's only 29.99 right now at Toysrus (the same price as this Radio Flyer.)Personally, I'm going to go out and exchange this one for the Simba immediately.Sure, the Radio Flyer is very cute, and the little basket, the bell and the fringe on the handles are adorable. But don't be taken in by how cute it is.It is unsafe.

5-0 out of 5 stars love it!!
Very durable, folds up easily to go in the car or for storage (when they grow out of it)my daughter is 22 months old and she just loves her bike!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Super cute and my 16 month old daughter loves it!

We got it for her for Christmas and she just adores it!!! Great price too. Check it out in the store and see if your little one loves it as much as ours! Enjoy! :) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Choo Choo
I bought this toy for my daughter when she was six months old and it's a great value. For the money I couldn't ask for anything better. She loves the train still three months later. It is very durable and has been dropped several times and keeps on choo chooing, it still has the original batteries in it from when we bought the toy.She always gets excited when the train starts rolling and screams with delight then tries to crawl after it and get it.She loves to watch the blocks go up and down and round and round. It is one of her favirote toys and she is almost nine months old.She likes to take the blocks off and pound them together to make noise. She also loves the little blue boxcar at the end she picks it up and plays with the red flap. And tries to turn the wheels with her hand.It is just a great toy and I highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars still using it a year later....
My son got this toy on his 1st bday and his 2nd just passed and he still loves it.He puts it in other toys and the train pushed them too.The peek a boo blocks are cute at first but now he likes just the train. It is very cute and keeps his busy and trust me he is a very active boy.He thinks of different ways of using the train.Very highly recommended here.I still have not changed the batteries either.

5-0 out of 5 stars Neat toy

Want to give your new baby the sun and the moon? Celeste has athree-dimensional, yellow velour sun face with black embroidery on oneside, and an embroidered satin moon face on the other. Trimmed inbrightly colored, boldly patterned cotton prints, this is one visuallystimulating toy. Dangling from Celeste's round body are four stretchyblack-and-white polka dot ribbons with a different toy suspended ateach end. There's a yellow star teether, a square of purple velour withan embroidered butterfly that rattles when shaken, a green velourcircle with embroidered ladybug that squeaks when pressed, and atriangular plastic link. 5-0 out of 5 stars Daughter's first favorite
We got this as a gift for Maya before she was born and hung it on the toy bar of her pack & play. She loves it!It was the first thing she swatted at and grabbed. Now that she's sitting on her own, she loves to grab it and put it in her mouth. She seems to love the bright, smiling sun.And the stretchy arms are great to grab.

5-0 out of 5 stars She still loves it!
At 4 months old my daughter "picked" Celeste out of the other Lamaze hanging toys. She immediately smiled and giggled when she saw it.We have always used it in the car primarily and to this day, even though she's 2 years old, if it's not hanging up in the car she asks for it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Definitely recomend this
This is such a cute toy. When my son was younger we did not have this one but we had another toy that we hung form his carseat and he loved batting at it or just watching it . It was great for long car rides. I saw this on here and I plan on buying it for my next baby. ... Read more

Editorial Review

When the sun beats down over the long haul, this jaunty, adjustable red polyester umbrellatransforms a little red wagon into a shady Conestoga. And it will serve you well should you be surprised byrain showers on your journey. You could also clamp it on a lawn chair, a cooler handle, a park railing, or abackpack strap. The neoprene-padded jaws of the sturdy plastic, 6.5-inch spring clamp move smoothly on180-degree hinges, so the umbrella gets a flat, slip-proof grip on objects that are from an eighth of an inchto 2 inches thick--even on wet wood or slick metal. Made especially to sit pretty on a classic Radio Flyerwagon, the versatile, heavy-duty clamp also accommodates non-planar surfaces, such as a wide-lippedwall. Unfasten the Velcro closure and slide open a taut 26.5-inch diameter circle of shade made of chunky,top-quality materials. A 4-inch-long, .375-inch-diameter metal-spiraled neck above the clamp allows you toadjust the shade to any angle in any direction. This beauty is made to last as long as a Radio Flyer wagon! The umbrella is 30.75 inches long, and comes with instructions. Ava Natov ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great accessory to wagon
We have this for our radioflyer woodsided wagon and it works very well. It's a bit on the small side, same size a regular childs umbrella, but it works. Also, the small size is about the same width as the wagon, so it's easy to fit thru any doorways, gates, etc...while in the open position that the wagon can.
I rated it 4 stars for fun since my 2 year old loves to play with it (a lot). I think it's great to have and advise anyone with this type of wagon to get it too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Wagon Umbrella
It's strong but very, very small. Unless you only have one child in the wagon or ride-on, you'll need to buy two. I did and it was worth it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great Concept but Not Durable
The umbrella is a great idea and works well with the radio flyer wagon. The problem is ours broke after limited use.The umbrella did not bend easily in the coil area.We found that when people adjusted the umbrella they always bent it where the button is to put the umbrella up and down.In the end that is where the umbrella snapped in two.So just take your time when trying to bend the umbrella to block the sun! ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Not Impressed
We bought this keyboard for our daughter at Christmas, when she was 6-7 months. She didn't care for it then, even when I was showing her how to use it, and she's a year now and still only hits the top buttons to get it to play by itself.I think it's great that it can play animal sounds or keyboard sounds, but remarkably, one of my biggest complaints is that even on the loud setting it's too quiet! The keyboard sounds are really muted and dull, and I can see why it doesn't hold her interest for more than a few seconds. She's an active kid, and this just isn't for her.I think she's be better off with an old fashioned xylophone to bang on!That will give her results!

5-0 out of 5 stars so far so good....
Now that our tiwns just turned 6 months old we are staring to get more of their bigger toys out. We got thi one out, i think a month and a half ago. We used the music mode a lot then. Now at 6 months old we started to use the animal sounds. And they just love it. They smile and laugh! The music and lights are wonderful and can keep their attention for long periods of time. Most of all our Baby Einstein prodcuts are wonderful and the kids love them! They keys are easy to push and dont stick like some other toys we have. It is a great interactive toy that the kids will be able to use for months.

5-0 out of 5 stars A hit with everyone
I bought this for my toddler who loves music and is delayed in fine motor skills.I feel that the keys are small enough to encourage her to use one finger at a time as opposed to just pounding at it, and the added benefit is that they switch to animal sounds, which she also loves, so it will encourage her more to hit one individual key at a time. She loves the music and flashing lights.I love the fact that the sounds are more muted. It seems so many toys today with sounds blare the noise, this is actually pleasant to listen to and has volume control to boot. The only problem I have is that my 4 yr old keeps stealing it from her little sister to play with it! ... Editorial Review

This is probably the first toy that (no pun intended) pops into your mind when you hear the name Fisher-Price. Maybe this will jar your memory: the Push Toy Corn Popper has a long, blue handle (well, "long" if you're 3 years old), and rolls along on two brightly colored red/orange wheels while making great popping sounds as it bounces brightly colored balls inside a clear plastic bubble that's mounted above the wheels. So much for the technical specifications. There must be some unwritten law that every toddler has to have one of these. And with good reason. They're still fun!--Chris Livesay ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Still playing with it!!!
Our son is almost 3 and is still getting this popper out to make some noise. He just loves it at times. Now he uses it as a vacuum even though he has a play vacuum. This toy has been around forever and I believe it will always be around.

5-0 out of 5 stars GOOD BUT NOISY
We got this for our son about 1 1/2 year ago. When I vacuum, he brings this out and pretends to vacuum with me. It is very noisy so if there are parents out there that don't like toys that are too noisy, don't buy it!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A NOISY oldie but a goodie!
We all like to make some noise every now and then don't we?Plus love has it's selective hearing advantages too.I don't know what it is, but kids love these: my daughter, her cousins, parents, etc.(I also like that it stores standing up; just tip it forward a little until the front rests on the floor.) There isn't much to say except that its a simply fun and well liked toy. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Appears fun to kids at first but is also dangerous
Our one-year-old nephew received the ball popper as a birthday gift this past weekend, and all of the 3 and 4-year-old kids at the party were quickly excited and interested in helping keep the balls moving and flowing. It's looks like a great toy to play with, but it was surprising how many times the balls kept shooting out all over the place. It seems sort of "out-of-control" for a 9-month-old (min. age indicated on the box) to play with.At first we considered getting this toy for a friend's child, since it seemed to be such a hit with all of the kids. However, the most horrifying aspect of this toy is that a child's arm can get caught inside the hard, plastic hose where the balls are supposed to be dropped. The suction from the motor keeps the child's arm trapped inside the hose until the toy is shut off.We witnessed this happen to two of the kids who were playing with the toy. Also, sometimes when the toy was turned on, the air motion reversed for no reason so that the balls didn't pop out like they were supposed to.This didn't really seem to present a problem with the toy; it was just puzzling.I won't be buying the toy for our friend's child because of the suction issue.

4-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun
My one year old daughter and everyone who ever saw this toy thought it was lots of fun.The ball popping produced many days of laughter. The only problem I found is that sometimes the toy came apart.

5-0 out of 5 stars my kids love this toy!

we got this as a christmas gift for my 2 kids who where 4 months and 17 months at the time . even at 4 months the second i turned it on he was smiling and cooing he loves it. and my daughter loves to play with all the time its her most favorite toy she plays with all the time. also the handle is very easy for her to push down by herself and after a month of me showing her she can do it all by her self.now hes 8 months and she 21 they really love it he plays with it all the time. the only problem is i need to getv another one because they are fighting over it and she takes it fom him all the time! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars This phone is a great toy!
I don't understrand everyones comments on not being able to hear the phone once the plastic thing in the back is removed.I really wanted this toy to go with my daughters laugh and learn home so I went to the store to look at it anyway to see what all the fuss was about. So at the store I reached behind the phone and ripped out the plastic thing and it sounds fine to me. It is plenty loud enough. So I bought it and my 9 month old daughter loves it.I don't know maybe fisher price has improved the product or something but mine is plenty loud enough.

5-0 out of 5 stars How I solved the volume issue.
I liked this toy for my 8 month old because it relates the pushed buttons (number or alphabet depending on the play mode) by visually showing them on the screen and audio ably saying them as there are shown; I thought what a great teaching tool. When I got it home and opened I noticed the volume was not as loud as it was in the store, I thought it was broken. I was considering returning it, until I realized a manufacture's pull tab (located in the back beside the screw to open the battery door) had been automatically removed and decreased the volume. I simply reinserted the tab, cut off the excess and taped up the opening. If you've already thrown away the tab anything you can make a 1½" to 2" long thin plastic strip from will work. Since I bought this for its visual effects I don't consider it a hold to her ear toy and I won't encourage her to use it that way, if as she gets older it becomes a problem, I'll re-adjust the volume. But for now my solution works for us.

2-0 out of 5 stars Definetly not loud enough!
I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old. They both like the phone but lose interest pretty quickly. Because they can't hear anything the phone is saying. I think they would play with it more if the volume was louder. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars My Son Loves Most of This Toy
My son, who is 17 months old now, has owned this since he was 10 months, he picked it out at the store. He has played with it at least every other day for the last 7 months. But he doesn't play with the "rings" he plays with the base and the balls. He loves to put the balls in the top and hear the music, then they roll out of the front where he can pull open the door and they roll out. He has never liked the "rings", except to wear them on his feet and arms.

5-0 out of 5 stars Instant hit with my daughter!
I heard about this toy from a parenting magazine review... and to tell you the truth was a bit sceptical about all the raving. But, when I saw it in a store, I was sold. It soft and colorful. The music is not too loud. The balls and rings are a perfect size for little hands to grab.

My 7 month daughter loved it the moment she saw it. There are so many ways she can play with it. And the toy will definitely grow with her. I thought it was so good, I am going to uy another one for my friend's baby.

5-0 out of 5 stars Therapists love it!
My son gets weekly developmental and occupational therapy to help with his delayed motor skills, and his occupational therapist brought this toy to his last appointment.

He absolutely LOVED it, and I think it is really cool since there are so many different things he can do, and it is really a long term toy! ... When my daughter was five months she learned to sit up cause she wanted this noisy toy soooo bad.Now she's 8 months and she can put the balls in the front of the tree and still loves to play with it.She does like to mke the discs stop which broke the toy but fisher price told me to mail it in and they sent me a new one!She loves it!Everybaby who comes over loves it too!

3-0 out of 5 stars Excellent fun - limited durability!
My son who just turned a year, loves the toy.Again, yes it is noisy but that is what catches the attention of the little ones.HOWEVER, I am exchanging mine as well because the disks stopped turning. Not because of the battery but because my son likes to hold the disks still and now they don't turn.He loves the toy though and we will be exchanging it for another one, exactly the same.He would miss it too much!

5-0 out of 5 stars Baby Loves It!
I picked this book up in a desperate attempt to entertain my 10 month old baby on long road trips. He is a big paper eater, so even board books can't withstand his gnawing. This book definately did the trick. He can bite on it all he wants and it looks as good as new. After five months, my 15 mo old still loves this book and it's a big hit at playgroup.

5-0 out of 5 stars A fun book for a musical child
My 9-month-old daughter was entranced with this book when we showed it to her in the store, and so we had to buy it.It has kept her entertained in the car on many road trips and even at home.It was her favorite toy for a long time. She would rock and bob her head to the nursury rhyme songs. She loved pushing the buttons to make things go.She learned "star" from this book, and to "moo" like the cow.She points at the pictures of dogs and cats. She is now 15 months old and though it is no longer the favorite toy, she still enjoys playing with it.

The book is educational in that it rewards pushing buttons, sliding switches, and turning pages with noises and songs. If your child likes musical toys, she or he would like this toy.As a parent, I did not find this to be very annoying. The music was catchy and the little voice of the person singing was cute. The book asks questions ("where is the cow?") to prompt baby to point or push buttons or say the answer. It takes AA batteries, and ours have lasted a long time (only being replaced once in 6 months), despite a lot of play time.

Your baby will love it!

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute and durable
My son got this as a gift for his 1st birthday and he loves the way the book lights up and reads to him.The interaction is great because he can play with the peices in the story.I love that the plastic is so durable. He has other baby books that just don't pass the test.

My only gripe is that there is no "off" switch and that can be annoying. It automatically shuts off after a while but if the button on the front cover gets pressed or the book wasn't closed, you can accidently start it up.Happens all the time in the baby bag. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Daughter loved this toy for months!
My daughter loved this toy, starting at one month and right up to nine months.First she loved the auditory stimulation, then the tactile differences, then of course chewing! Now she moves the fabric around.Use it in the car, shopping, in her jumper!! EVERYWHERE!

3-0 out of 5 stars better toys available from Lamaze
I was given this toy fairly early on and my twins are now about a year old.In the early days, the boys enjoyed batting the bell-ball around if the major bulk of the toy was held for them. However, overall this toy has been a disappointment. It does not hold their attention much.I think it is too bulky to be a good shaking toy for a young infant, and they don't yet seem interested in pulling on the various toy give-and-take attachments.Perhaps a lighter version would be more successful with them. My guys are big fans of Pupsqueak and Freddy the Firefly from Lamaze, though. Those toys I would give 5 stars absolutely.

5-0 out of 5 stars Must have for your 5 month old
My mother bought this toy for my 5 month old son, he absolutly loves it.Cried when I took it away to wash it.Great for hand cordination and skills.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dino-mite
The activity Dino made my newborn smile and helped him to learn to sit up.Even now that he is older, he will see it laying on the back of the couch and will crawl to it and crinkle some of the fabric or will just smile at the colors or when I squeeze the nose to make a roaring sound.I highly recommend it, especially for the 0-4 month age group.

5-0 out of 5 stars Makes a great gift
I think this is a great product. It supports my son when he is sitting up and he loves to play with it. I have noticed older children like to curl up with it while watching television. I think this would make a nice gift because it is unique. Unlike most baby toys and products, we will get years of use out of the Activity Dino.

1-0 out of 5 stars Expensive rubbish - waste of money !
We recently ordered Dino for our 6 month old son, thinking we could use it initially to help him sit up and then later as a fun rough-and-tumble toy. What arrived was a small overstuffed sock with a few "crinkly" spines. The quality of the material was cheap and nasty and the construction is appauling. As for the "roar" of the nose - we could barely hear a squeak. Needless to say, we returned this "toy" immediately. Don't waste your money - a pillow with a decorative face would be just as good and at least the cover would be washable ! AWFUL !!!!! ... Read more

Editorial Review

With its fully retro design, faithfully reproduced down to thesmallest detail, this cherry-red, rubber-wheeled tricycle is anundisputed classic. Apparently they do still make them like theyused to. The rugged trike features a chrome front fender; a double-deck,step-in back (so kids can climb onto the smooth metal seat in a snap);red-and-white tassels on the rubber-coated handlebars; a 12-inch-high,steel-spoked wheel; and even an old-fashioned bell. --Paul Hughes ... 2-0 out of 5 stars HORRIBLE!!!
My 3 year old can't reach the petals (she is considered tall for her age). She is also terrified to ride this horrible tricycle because it tips over!Nostaglia is about all it is good for!

5-0 out of 5 stars Give this trike a chance!
We bought this tricycle for my 16 month old son and we couldn't be happier. It is a little big for him right now so we put blocks on the pedals so he could put his feet flat, not tippy-toed. But immediately after we put it together (which only took about 30 minutes from opening the box to completion)he jumped on and started "walking" the trike with his feet on the ground. We were amazed since he has only SEEN bicycles, not ever ridden them. I love the retro look of this trike! It reminds me of the old days and my first trike that I have seen in pictures. I'm sure we'll get plenty of use out of this bike, we love it so far!

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Trike
This was a birthday present for my two year old. She was a little short to push the peddles all the way at first, but quickly grew into it. She is now almost three and has gotten a lot of use of this. It is sturdy (a bit heavy if tipped over-which it's hard to do), but does rust easily in humid weather, even when kept in a carport. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars We love Lotty
Lotty was a gift from Santa to our 3 month old baby girl. She loves her.The antennae are absolutely mesmerizing. If we can't find a toy to make her smile then Lotty always does the trick. She is almost 5 months old and is still her favorite. One of the best toys we have received.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lil LOVES Lotty!
Santa brought our (then) 5 month old Lotty for Christmas. She absolutely LOVES Lotty! The antennae must be magical because that's the first thing she reached for and of course put in her mouth. Even when she's fussy, you can put Lotty on her tummy and give her kisses and she smiles and grabs the antennae and starts to play. She also likes to look at herself in the mirror on Lotty's tummy. I would definitely recommend Lotty to anyone looking for a lovable and entertaining toy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't leave the house without Lotty!!
My five month old daughter loves Lotty!! We lay Lotty on my daughters tummy and she can sit and play for a long period of time. She loves to play with the antenna and put them in her mouth. The front leg plays "You are my Sunshine" and the other legs have rattles or squeakers in them. It is the cutest toy. I highly recommend it. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Excellent as a first bike, the Ready-to-Ride comes in bright, friendly primary colors and the classic Radio Flyer stylings that remind parents of the little red tricycles of their youths. As with all Radio Flyer trikes, the Ready-to-Ride is built to last with a durable steel frame and heavy-duty treaded tires. Plastic bucket seats provide a comfortable ride and rubber handles offer a secure grip. Kids can tow a doll or load toys into the yellow storage bin on back and announce that they're coming through with the loud bell on the handlebar. Parents will appreciate the trike's low center of gravity and controlled turning radius that prevents it from tipping during speedy turns. The lightweight and portable Ready-to-Ride also easily folds up for storage and has a handy grip in the back of the seat for carrying or hanging. A reliable safety latch ensures that the trike won't begin to fold up midway through a ride. The Ready-to-Ride trike comes fully assembled and is covered by a one-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute Bike But High Seat A Problem
Looking for a 2nd Tricycle for my 2 yr. old daughter's daycare, we went to TRU last evening to take a look. She absolutely loved the look of this one, but unfortunately could not swing her leg over the seat to get on and off easily. We have a 10" Radio Flyer Classic at home that she has no problem with and rides all over the place (we love it). Also, while riding in the store the handlebar bumped against something and tipped right over (as almost all do).I was also concerned with the plastic compartment on the back as my crazy girl would be standing on it (I'm sure)and could break it or hurt herself.

After checking all of them out I decided to go with the Kiddi-o Simba ST1 for only $29.99, didn't want to spend to much since this will be an extra bike.Just called the store, they had one left and it's assembled and waiting for me.Hopefully it will be worth all the research.

2-0 out of 5 stars great trike, when working
My daughter got this tricycle as a gift.It was great- even though the handle doesn't help turn the bike, my 2 year old was really enjoying it.After less than 6 months of use however, the wheel fell off the bike.I've heard it's nearly impossible to find this part and essentially IT is non-existent.

I don't have the owners manual and I haven't been able to use the bike since. It just sits in our garage gathering up dust.I'll probably donate it just to get it out of our garage.maybe a mechanic can make a part for it.

1-0 out of 5 stars It Does Tip Easily.
My husband and I went to the local Toysrus store to see which side of the mixed reviews is right. This is a cute tricycle for sure. When we were looking at it in the store, an employee aproached us and said, "I wouldn't recommend you that.Unfortunately, it tips easily." I pushed one side of the handle down, and it did tip SO easily. The employee went on and said, "I'm a mother, too.I can't recommend something I wouldn't buy for my own children."She showed us another trike, which was around $60, if I remember right. This was MUCH stabler than the Fold-2-Go, and didn't move a bit even when I pushed one side hard enough in the attempt to make it tip.We didn't make any purchase that day after all, but we sure appreciated the honesty and kindness of the store clerk. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Love this bike - don't worry about brakes
We found that the pedals on most trikes are too far from the seat, and other little bikes have pedals on the front wheel which are hard to reach and which turn the wheel left and right when the child pedals. My daughter used this bike at 2 1/2 but we still had to push her a little bit.Although the bike *is* heavy, I think the problem was more in her coordination because early in the second summer she used it, one week it "clicked" and she just took off on it.She rode it everywhere the summer that she was 3 1/2.We have a fairly sloped driveway and by pushing the pedals backwards she could stop the bike at the bottom.(Also enjoyed making it go backwards.)She has a little brother and I love that he will be able to use this bike next, because it is gender neutral.

Also worth noting: we ran over one training wheel with the car and the company replaced it for just $3.50 including shipping.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWSOME 1ST bike for 2 year old!
We got this 10" bike for our son for Christmas when he was 20 months old.It only took a couple days of practice and he was whizzing all over the place in it.We chose this over the tricycle because when we tested them out in the store, the 10" with training wheels was much easier for him to control. All the bikes with the pedals attached to the wheel seemed to be more difficult to pedal. We also love the fact that instead of brakes, the bike pedals backward. Our son quickly learned how to manouver out of tight spots buy pedaling backward then forward again without ever having to get off the bike. When he is a bit older we will probably buy him a bike with brakes, but for a little guy who isn't out riding in the street alone, this bike is perfect.

We had to leave off the red plastic piece under the seat for him to be able to reach the pedals at first. That made the height just perfect. He is now almost 3 years old and still LOVES this bike.We have adjusted the height a couple times since he got it and lifted the training wheels a bit so he can start learning to balance without them.

The only thing on this bike that has broken in the 15 months we've had it is the bell.It broke after about 8 months of hard play. That's okay though. We didn't buy the bike for the bell.

All in all, this is THE BEST CHOICE when buying a child their first bike. It's not only a beautiful bike, but it is very durable and SUPER-EASY for little ones to ride.I recommend this for any little BOY or GIRL as their first bike.

2-0 out of 5 stars Adorable but way too heavy (and, no, there are no breaks....
We bought this bike for our son a year ago, for his third birthday.I liked that it was a nice small size and the look was gender neutral and gorgeous. However, we have been very disappointed with the bike's performance. It is just so HEAVY.My son has a really hard time getting going on it and going uphill just doesn't seem to work for him on this bike. One mistake that I won't make again is trying to surprise him with the bike and not trying it out ahead of time in the store. We will soon buy him a new bike and this time will take him to a real bike shop to be fitted and to try out the bike. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining and Educational
My daughter got this for her 12 month old birthday and she loves it.She loves the song Old McDonald and wants to play it over and over again as she dances to it.The animals are great for her to learn the noises but mostly to identify the animal.I'll tell her to go get the horse and she'll come back with it!It also goes great with the Baby Einstein video Baby McDonald because they use that toy in it and she recognizes it and will go push the button to make the song. Our daughter loves it and has had it for 2 months now and has not gotten bored with it.

1-0 out of 5 stars dangerous choking hazard
My son loved this toy also.HOWEVER, this morning as he was playing he started coughing.I looked over to find the small hand piece missing off the farmer. When initially examining the toy upon purchase all the pieces appeared safe for a toddler as the package indicated.Obviously that is not the case as one hand piece had come off completely.I plan to contact the manufactor, however I strongly caution anyone who chooses to purchase this toy.As fun as it may seem it is obviously a choking hazard.

5-0 out of 5 stars Get this toy!
Not only did my 1 year old love this toy when he got it, (as did his big sister) but he has been riding around the house on it for over a year and it is still in good shape! He thinks the trailer is great for sitting on and pushes himself around on it. (And he weighs 25 pounds!)The mechanism for moving itself forward automatically finally gave out recently due to his misuse, but he doesn't seem to mind. The animals are all included.(One person seems to have gotten an open package.) ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars disapointed!
steering mechanism is faulty. It tips over very easily. Don't forget your protective gear when riding. The push bar is okay. I expected more from radio flyer.

1-0 out of 5 stars dangerous trike!
My son loves the trike. It is cute, stylish, and the push bar is great when he "lets" use it.But when he rides it himself it falls over with every turn.He has benn scratched and bruised from this fatal flaw. I reccomend it be recalled.

1-0 out of 5 stars Great idea - poor execution for Radio Flyer
We received the trike as a gift and it seemed so perfect for our toddler.Assembly was a little difficult and we had to improvise. After 3 weeks of occasional use, the plastic steering parts began to crack.Radio Flyer was quick to send out new parts stating there has been a problem with the plastic parts.Reassembled with new parts and it worked again for another 4 weeks. We took off the steering bar and hoped to use the trike that way.Unfortunately that didn't work either. We just set it out with the garbage which possessed me to write a review. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Not a winner in our house
We were very displeased with this product. The pieces come off way too easy and the worst part about it is that when baby starts to tumble backwards the toy comes with!My daughter also cannot use the toy to pull up on either. We got a much better playskool one for $5 at a yard sale.Sorry I wasted my money on the other one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Doors come off!
My son loves this toy.He got it for Xmas, and is still playing with it even though he is an excellent walker. The problem is that the "doors" come off very easily, leaving a groove perfect for my little one to climb onto! The cart is also so lighweight that even before he could walk on his own, he was able to pick it up and fall when putting it down sideways.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it!
I absolutley love this walker (and so does my son)!My son is now 10 months old and loves to walk.We received the FP Brilliant Basics Walker as a gift, but we soon found out that it wasn't for us.It was lightweight and flimsy.Everytime my son tried to use it, it would push ahead of him and he would end up on his knees or on his face...not exactly the right way to help a baby learn to walk.

My MIL bought our son this walker and he just loves it!The speed/traction control feature is a must!Gone are the days of him falling on his face or to his knees. He can actually walk across the room with this and it doesn't fly out from under him.

Yes, the mailbox doors come off very easily, but so what?!My son likes to take them off and play with them. When the doors are off, you can put a favorite toy there instead. My son loves to push around his stuffed animals.

Overall....great, sturdy walker for the price.Very pleased! ... Read more
