There are only seven pieces in this puzzle, so it should be easy. Right? Guess again! Sixty puzzle cards show 60 three-dimensional structures for players to replicate using the seven pieces. Each of the pieces, based on three or four connected cubes, is unique. One is an L shape, another a T, and they get more complicated from there. If a player is stumped and can't figure out how to build the Long Wall, the Snake, or the Bad Dog, there are helpful clues on the back of the cards. I played this 30 years ago and loved it.
once you start on this you're hooked! my friends and I worked on those puzzles when we were out at sea and the images and feel of the cubes remains with me to this day.

Wow this is hard!
For the ultimate challenge in spatial relations try out this game.It's like a three dimensional tangram and it is really tough.For a great time bring this to a party and work on the solutions as a group.Personally, Ithink 8 years old is probably a little young for this game.I'd suggest12+ unless the children are teamed up with an adult. ... Previous Reivew Misses the Point
I'm afraid that the previous reviewer misses the point about the maze.It is designed to allow the user to shift the walls as they progress through the maze; it is not intended to be a static maze as if on paper.

There are 16 starting configurations listed on the back of the product, and they increase in difficulty as they progress.Early settings require either no or very limited manipulation of the walls to complete.As you go on to more advanced settings, however, you encounter ever-more-complicated mazes that require you to plan ahead to determine whether moving a given wall will help you or hurt you in the long run.

This is a great toy to teach strategic thinking, and is suitable for a variety of ages (some of the more advanced maze configurations are quite challenging).

not really "16" ways
I was very disappointed to find that only one setting allows you to get all the way to the end of the maze.Yes, you can change the maze path but then you can only get part of the way to the finish.My kid LOVES mazes but this toy was a bust! ... Read more

Colorful, fun, educational, and FINALLY magnetic!
This is a great game for the kids, or for you and your kids. It reminds alot of folks of Scrabble in that you have a rack of tiles and have to play them on a board. In Tilez!, you have to pick one of your tiles and place them to match as many color edges as possible on the board. The more edges you match the higher your score. For adults, there's a more restrictive rule - you must match every edge that you play.

This game has 80 tiles, all "L"-shaped, all different, and all magnetic. This is important because when they first published this game a few years back, the tiles were not magnetic and they slid around alot. I'm happy to report that the magnetic tiles work great and they don't slide at all. Even the scoring markers, which also had the sliding problem in the previous edition, are now magnetic. The game also has full-color rules in both English and French.

They also sell a travel edition of this game which is less expensive but the tiles are (obviously) much smaller. The full-size edition is far superior for play at home. ... Read more

Great puzzle.
First of all, the age shown on this site isn't what the box says. It is recommanded for ages 6 and up. I got it for my 4 year old who absolutely loves puzzles and he was very excited to get started. He finished it all by himself and was very proud. So was I. It isn't as hard as it looks because there are many points the child can focus on. For exemple, my son started straight away with the space shuttle and then he put together the sun and the different planets. He was left with a few black and starry pieces but not as many as one might think.

Great family fun! Exceptional detail, yet easy to assemble
My 5-yr-old son received this as a gift while studying the Eiffel Tower in school. We completed the puzzle as a family project and it took less than one hour to complete. The box contains instructions that are printed on blue paper like a blueprint, and wooden puzzle pieces that have to punched out before assembly. The instructions are clear and assembly is easy. No glue is required. The finished product is 3-dimensional, exceptionally detailed and almost 3 feet tall! My sons eyes were sparkling after completing such a cool puzzle. The box has a few historical details about the Eiffel Tower, but it would be a lot of fun to look up interesting facts to talk about while doing the project.
