5-0 out of 5 stars Robosapien Rocks!
I love this robot, in fact I bought two regular Robosapiens and one mini Robosapien. It has a ton of personality, great sounds, and most importantly, it's funny as hell. There are over 67 different moves it can make.It actually walks and turns quite well, and runs for a long time on one set of batteries, which much longer than other robot toys I have.

In addition, there are tons of modifications out there that you can try, to enhance the Robot.Just search Google or Amazon's A9 for "Robosapien Hacks".There are also great free programs that you can use to greatly extend the "play life" of this little guy.

My personal favorite is a free open source program on SourceForge that let's you control him with your voice, and easily create complex scripts to make him do all sorts of wonderful thing. It's great for impressing your friends or making your own robot movies.Unfortunately you need a Windows computer and an infrared transmitter to run the program, but you can get the transmitter for cheap and most of us already have a Windows computer.

Just go to SourceForge and search for "Robosapien".It's called the Robosapien Dance Machine.

3-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining for a short time
I had higher expectations but this was for my son in the first place, I'm not sure he shares my expectations but the robot isn't getting much use so that may say something in itself.

The fluid motion is actually kind-of cool to watch, atleast for a short time.

He can't grab anything but the cup without a lot of trial and error and the objects have to be at his side in just the right place. I was under a false assumption that you could literally make incremental movements like moving the arm and hand to just the right spot then grab etc. you can't, you have a button for "pick up" and that's one motion targeting the pickup to one particular spot - the ankle area.

he looks like he's going to fall down when he walks, he doesn't it's part of the motion, sort-of an overdramatic swagger which is fun for awhile.

He throws things interestingly, that's providing you can get something picked up.

The controls are complicated but with a little time you can make sense of them.

The programing of multiple tasks aren't saveable. you loose them once you shut him off.

So this device is relegated to crashing through blocks while pretending it's doing more things. For the money I don't believe it's all that it's cracked up to be.

This review is to help with this Adapter if you can't find it. I went to Radio Shack and they sell a 9V/300mA AC-to-DC Power Adapter. It's $14.00. It comes with 1 adaptaplug. Size O and size N will both seem to fit in the V-Smile, but only size N really fits. [...] It is Catalog # 273-1767. It works fine for the V-Smile. Good Luck to all and of course you can use the adapter for other V-tech products.Just bring it to radioshack and you can try all the various plugs to see which one you need.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best flying RC plane yet!
After my nephew saw the Dominator commercial he was dying for a Dominator. So I bought it. Well out of all the RC planes I've tried, this has been the easiest to learn. You can't miss it in the sky since the plane body is huge and the control is reasonable for the price. Compared to the other stealth looking planes in the stores, this by far was the best in price. Overall, my nephew adored the plane, it provided a decent time period of flight. I recommend purchasing this plane for any child who likes RC products and outdoor fun. Great plane!

3-0 out of 5 stars ok..... not really
well i bought this for my friends birthday and the next day i came over and we went to a field and started to fly it. WARNING LANDING SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as u can see the lands is horrible but it can fly for a good amount of time. but if u even try to land it it will twirl in the air and go head first into the ground. I would not buy it

3-0 out of 5 stars All planes a series of compromises, this is no exception
The new Air Hogs Dominator is an interesting RC plane, way off in a corner of the design space.I am a fan of low-aspect ratio designs, and this plane certainly demonstrates the advantages and disadvantages of low-aspect ratio airplanes.

The airframe seems incredibly rugged. While the tails are potentially breakable, the wing is fat and seems quite strong. The low-aspect ratio design leads toa plane with reasonable wing area, but still a very small wingspan -- so that it can fit in a normal-sized box fully assembled. The thickness of the wing allows it to be very strong while just made out of the cheapest, lightest foam.

On the other hand, the plane doesn't glide very well, with a glide ratio of maybe 5.This means that when you shut the engines down, it sinks like a rock. This is maybe not such a bad thing, though -- it's not going to sail away from youlike some RC gliders. The extremely small size (and basically equilateral-triangle shape) makes it somewhat difficult to determine which way the plane is flying. When it's a couple of hundred feet away it becomes quite difficult to see.

The differential throttle control is weak. Now, many RC crashes are due to over-control -- that can't happen with this plane. The plane treats control inputsas suggestions more than commands. This lack of strong control means that you really want to fly this plane in an extremely large field -- and launch it from the center.Don't for a minute think that you can toss this plane off a cliff (say) and get it back to the takeoff spot -- at least not until you have a lot ofexperience with this plane.I've flown a lot of RC, and this is by far the hardest plane I've flown to get to a particular spot.

The plane really wants to spiral.Again, as you don't want to have it get too far away from you, maybe that's not a bad thing. The control is iffy enough, too, that it's very easy for the plane to get downwind of you in any kind of breeze.I wouldn't fly it in more than a five mph wind.

The low L/D of this design means that you run through the batteries pretty quickly, I would say that my longest flight so far has been about 3 minutes.

Still, it's fun. It's so easy to toss in the car, toss into the air, and fly.The props seem reasonably well protected -- although I've only flown the plane in long grass (and would recommend that that be the only place to fly it.)It's cheap, simple, seems rugged, and has a cuteness factor that can't be ignored. As I've said, I'm prejudiced toward low-aspect ratio designs, it's fun to play with one.

    I'll write a long-term review in a few weeks.

4-0 out of 5 stars You _Can_ Master The Drawbacks
After reading other comments on this toy I decided to buy 2 of them (as a gift for friends)--fully expecting a short life span.

When the first one died everything seemed to work fine but it would no longer take-off.

We compared the fully-charged, used (but undamaged) Hover Copter to a brand new, first time charged Hover Copter. The used Copter propellor spun slightly slower than the brand new Copter (we held them up and compared the amount of air current).

I would advise doing everything possible to avoid battery memory build-up.Fully discharge after each session (leave it on after use)!Charge it no longer than recommended right before use.Never charge any longer than recommended. ... Read more

I charged the batteries and started to play with it. I like it alot but then, it wouldn't go on my grass lawn! so then i decided i hated it. i took it apart to see if i could turn a switch or someting to make it go faster. i took it all apart and the put it under my bed. the next day, it was gone.

    Editorial Review

With a remote control that is simple to master, this two-speed airplane is perfect as a first radio-controlled toy. The Resistor takes off from its own computer-operated launch pad with a single press of the Launch button from the remote. A large toggle button moves the plane either left or right as the plane hits scale speeds of up to 400 mph and flies up to 300 feet away. For quick speed, a Thrust button on the remote gives it a 25-percent extra power boost, and for a smooth, even landing, a Land button brings the Resistor down safely. Except for a few hard plastic components that house the engine, this lightweight plane is made almost entirely of Styrofoam, which damages easily if it hits obstacles so it's best to practice flying in open, treeless areas. This toy requires six C batteries for the charger and one 9-volt battery for the plane itself and requires only a three-minute charge in the docking station before it's ready to fly. --Cristina Vaamonde ... 4-0 out of 5 stars must have
this is my third year buying an airhog plane. I went from the small hand held chargeres to this plain. downside - not for young children, my son is 5 and loves the plane but he can not fly it, he loves to watch and chase it. you can not fly this or any other air hog in a strong wind. I recently had one fly away and lost it in the wind. only fly it in the summer with a light breeze but once you get the hang of it, it is alot of fun. they say fly it in a open field, good suggestion but I dont, I fly it in my front yard and between the houses and been doing ok. this is my second resistor, the first finally broke at the end of the summer but got the whole season out of it before it finally broke. I estimate I flew it about 200 times before the wing broke. once you tape it it never flies the same.

1-0 out of 5 stars WORST WASTE OF FIFTY DOLLARS
I got 50 $ for my birthday and I really wanted a R/C plane, so I bought this thing. Big mistake. First time I tried it was too windy, and part of the tail wing broke off. Second time, there was almost 0 breeze and it took off, but then did half a U turn crashing into the ground. Now I have a "plane" if thats what you'd like to call it sitting next to me with part of it's tail wing off and white spots all over from chipped paint. DO NOT BUY THIS THING

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Beginner R/C Airplane
After reading some negative reviews, I was a bit skeptical about purchasing this airplane, but when I found one on sale, I had to find out for myself whether these reviews were accurate or not. This airplane was almost too easy to fly! I did crash it the first time,(no damage)but after that, it was almost flying by itself. As long as you follow the INSTRUCTIONS, you shouldn't have any problems. I took it to the largest grassy field I could find and off it went. Since I had owned another toy R/C airplane before, (which I had destroyed just learning to fly) I started with the #2 setting (advanced). The airplane was almost too responsive, making sharp turns and climbing continuously (I didn't have to touch the thrust button once). I switched to the #1 setting (beginner) and the airplane was much easier to fly. The only thing about this setting is that when the airplane was flying into the wind, it seemed like it was standing still in mid air. The landing button didn't seem to be very effective, as the airplane would not descend until it was runnning out of batteries. But with a flying time of about 3 minutes, I didn't care much anyway. Once I could tell the battery was starting to drain, I was able to maneuver it for a soft landing in front of me. This airplane is indeed a lot of fun, and I played with it for an hour before realizing how long I had been out there. If you're looking for negatives, the flight time is indeed short (3 minutes), but the charge time is short as well (3 minutes also). It's a light airplane, which means it won't perform too well if there's anything more than a light breeze. Even though the box says "Flies at up to 400mph scale speed", don't let this statement fool you. Compared to other R/C airplanes I have seen, the Resistor is SLOW, which is actually a positive for beginners. Be careful with the airplane's antenna! It's a long thin coil sticking out of the tail. I almost thought I had ripped it off when I stepped on it as I was picking up the airplane, but I didn't, which was a blessing since the instructions stated that if the coil is ripped, the airplane won't be able to receive signals from the remote control. The airplane is indeed mostly made of foam, but it's much sturdier than the previous airplane I had owned. There was absolutely zero damage after flying it for an hour (my previous airplane would loose a section every time I crashed it!). Overall, the Resistor is a fun, great airplane! I would recommend it as long as you keep in mind that it is a TOY and not an advanced R/C airplane. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Really fast and very nicely styled car
This R/C Car combines very nice style (the new Mustang looks really cool) as well as a super-fast engine that easily gets ahead of many other R/C vehicles in its category. The speed has a cost though, and it is the loss of sensitivity on making turns -- it's hard to maneuver in situations where you need to be in control (e.g. roads designed for R/C Cars).

The toy's educational value is mostly on helping your kid develop fine movements.

Durability is quite good, despite the fact that the car lacks bumpers in its front and rear ends, something that is common on R/C vehicles designed for speed.

The fact that the car supports either batteries or a rechargeable battery pack is really nice.Buy the Ni-Cd battery pack and you will love not spending as much in batteries.

In summary - a great car for your little kid. ... Read more

Combining all the excitement of a standard radio controlled vehicle with the unique staircase acumen of a Slinky, this Tarantula goes where most other cars could never hope to go. It's equipped with large moving arms covered in rubber treads where other vehicles would place wheels and as such, the Tarantula can climb stairs or simply step over objects that get in its way.A wireless remote guides the bright red Tarantula, which operates on a frequency of 49 MHz. It's powered by one 9-volt and one 9.6-volt nickel-cadmium battery, neither of which, unfortunately, are included in the box. Once we got the hang of working the controls, we were impressed by the Tarantula's capabilities, as it was able to capably perform plenty of challenging tasks as advertised. --Charlie Williams ... This was my son's #1 choice for Christmas. We got it, unpacked it and it worked all of 10 minutes. It's been broken every since.I have never been so disgusted with such an expensive toy. And, like the other parent's comment. The boxes and all had already gone to the trash because this was a gift from Santa.I will NEVER recommend this toy for anyone else.Obviously mine wasn't the only defective one.I've heard several tales from other disappointed parents.Good idea, bad technology or durability.

After searching high and low to find this toy - #1 wish on my son's Christmas list - it was the BIGGEST disappointment ever.Three days after Christmas we were playing with it and it burnt up.Of course the box had already gone out with the trash so we had to ship it back to MGA - they said shipping would be covered and I could get a box big enough at the Fed Ex Store.Well - they paid for the shipping - but not the packaging which cost me $22 since the darn thing broke with the legs extended and it was hard to find a box big and strong enough for it.I will NEVER buy another toy from MGA entertainment again - including their BRATZ dolls

It was a Christmas gift for my 7 1/2 old son. So I contacted the manufacturer, they quickly replaced it with a new one only to have the same thing happen again. For what they want this toy to do, it needs metal gearing, not the cheap plastic ones that are in it now. Sorry it is built so cheaply, it could be a real fun toy. i came to the webside and i saw the boat so i bought it. I still have it and it is great i love racing with my brother. I love the little roster tail it sprays got to buy product

4-0 out of 5 stars Very quick little boat!
My brother bought this for my 43rd birthday (yeah, I still play with toys!)It is a nicely built little plastic boat enclosed in a reusable carboard box lined with foam that cradles the boat and all its components well. My first impression was that it was really tiny! At 9" long it's easy to assume it's just going to putt around like a toy boat. But this little outboard moves! I drove it around in a large pond and it hunkers down like a bigger boat kicking a little rooster tail behind it. Really neat. The outboard prop does tend to attract anything floating in the pond though, so several times I had to beach it to remove a little piece of plant. It would do much better in a clean swimming pool. The 10+/- minute run time would not seem so short if it didn't take so long to recharge it- 4 to 6 hours!! I am an electric R/C plane enthusiast and my biggest lithium polymer packs only take a little over an hour to charge. With the charger technology of today, waiting 4 hours for a tiny battery pack to recharge is unacceptable. If not for the pathetic charger, this boat would easily be worth 5 points even at this price. But as it is, I give it a 4.

4-0 out of 5 stars fas but fun
i purchased this toy for my son, and i found myself trying to play with it more than him. it is not very expensive and for the short time the battery last is very fun(but what do you expect for 20 bucks, to last forever?!)the structure of this toy is made of lightweight foam which makes it a little bit more safe against breaking any windows. you have to be a little cautious of the rotating fan blade that makes it go, but nothing that will break skin. this toy is certainly more fun at night, it has lights on the outer edges that, when you pull the trigger and it starts to spin, is a nice little light show(made the neighbors look twice). overall this is cheap and fun, and yes, im gonna buy one for me now.

1-0 out of 5 stars Cool idea, but the toy is not durable
We used this toy only about 10 times and then the propeller came loose from the motor shaft and the toy became useless. We were not usign the toy in a way otehr than was intended by the mfr.

4-0 out of 5 stars Supercruiser boat
I bought this boat for my son for Christmas. I didn't really expect it to be so much fun. It works pretty good at the pond near my home. I liked it so much when I took my son out to play with it I went back to the store and purchased another one for myself. So now we both can play with them. They come in to frequnecies so no problem. I would definately reccomend this to others. I'm satisfied!

5-0 out of 5 stars Another neat trick by Mattel
Mattel has done it again. This is - just like the Batjet, Batcycles, and Batcopter realeased over the past year, a great addition to any Batman collection. This Batmobile is based on the version used by Batman in the more recent comics.I've always wanted to buy a toy/model based on it, and Mattel has met my need.
Scope and scale aside, this Batmobile is the best one to drive into the Batcave playset.I really like how Mattel has utilized the Batman license, and spread it throughout the company's many brands:Batman, Justice League, Hot Wheels, and Tyco R/C.Mattel has jazzed up Batman in exciting ways that Hasbro failed to do.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Batman Has arrived--and he's in the Batmobile!
This toy is very fun! It is the first remote control vehicle I have had since I was a kid. I love collecting Batman items. And what a great way to also get into R/C's as well. This Batmobile has great handeling & speed, I must say I was very happy with the speed, this wasn't some slow kiddie toy. It really gets up & goes. It also was great going down stairs. My little girls had a wonderful time chasing the Batmoblie. I think anyone who buys this item will be very thrilled. Besides if my gils continue to chase the car every day, then perhaps they'll get to bed earlier at night then I can finaly get some sleep. What a bargin, a fun toy & tired children! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This toy Rocks
This toy blows all the other subs out of the water, when i first got it for my birthday i put the batteries in and bam it already worked. Although it needs to be charged for 2 hours it is real fun to drive around the pool, aquarium, or pond. WARNING (do not user in salt water!)

4-0 out of 5 stars the next ROUV
THis is a very good RC sub. i have used it in my aquarium where it manuevers freely in the small environment. the only problem is that it is hard to manuver it in moving water such as a pool.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is great!
I got this submarine for Christmas and I was so excited about it. I drove it around in the bathtub with the lights in the bathroom off and the little submarine lit up the whole bathtub! This isn't a very fast sub, but it is still really fun! If you have a pool this would be a great toy because of how far down it can go and still be in range of the transmitter. I have had no problems with this sub and it is just so fun to relax and control a little sub around in my fishtank with all the lights off. The submarine is very manuaverable and responsive to the transmitter. You only have to charge the submarine for 2 hours instead of most RC toys having to be charged for 4 hours. Megatech says it only gets 15 minutes of battery life but it really has a battery life of about 25 minutes. The one thing that is less than desirable is that when the submarine gets old and will not hold a charge anymore, you can't just buy a new battery because the battery is inside the Sub. For this reason do not overcharge it. But otherwise this is very fun and I would definitly recommend it. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Breaks too easily!
My three year-old loved this toy, and was very careful with it, but the gear that holds the arm controlling the shovel in position broke after two weeks of use.Very disappointing.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not Great for Manual Play
This toy initially lived up to its reputation, but since my 3-year-old sometimes uses the remote control and sometimes uses his hands to operate the excavator, the excavator's bucket has lost a lot of its remote-controlled movement. Also, the controls were difficult for our son to figure out (he's right at 3 years old), and I don't think he's less intelligent or less dexterous than other kids his age (of course: I'm his mom). He has used other remote control toys with no problem. This is probably a great toy if the child is at least 4, has lots of experience with fairly complex remote controls, and won't be tempted to use his hands to operate it.

5-0 out of 5 stars You HAVE to buy this toy!
Golly, is this thing awesome!Don't even think about it, just buy it.You won't find it anywhere else either - it's toysrus exclusive. My little one just won't stop playing with it.Picking up rocks, racing it across the floor, chasing the cat, you name it!I really love to play with it too - my husband thinks I buy these things more for myself than for my little one but he loves it too so, well...It is very well made, takes a beating and comes back for more without any problems.Pretty neat digging holes in the flower bed. What a great, great toy and it's so realistic too.If you have a truck lover in the house, don't pass this one by. ... Editorial Review

Someone figured out a way to shrink a Lincoln Navigator down to fit into a box then added a real FM radio for you. Nearly everything works on this incredibly detailed radio controlled vehicle. The hood opens to let you check out the engine, front doors work giving you an inside look of all the interior details, headlights shine, brake lights flash, left and right turn signals operate, and even the rear door comes up to reveal a functional FM radio. Even the sounds are realistic. You can hear the engine rev or brakes screech to a sudden stop while playing your favorite FM station the entire time. The controller gives you a full range of motion while also letting you work the horn, turn on the lights, put on the automatic locks, or shift into 3 different speeds (slow to fast). All the batteries you need are included. --Chip Quinn ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Quality Not Good
The quality of this toy is not as good as the Hummer. The radio does not work clear at all. I bought it for my son and i am not satisfied at all.!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Navigator
I like this car.My dad has a pimpin' '05 navigator with flame spinners and he gets so mad when a speck of dirt gets in it.That is basicly me and my navigator remote control car.I hate it when i let one of my friends drive it and they crash it. I't doesn't have digital proportional control like the Hummer remote control car I have. That just says that you can't drive it inside very well w/out hitting anything.I have a '36 ford coupe remote control car w/ hydrolics.I wish the navigator had hydrolics.Overall this car is great if you're looking for some fun!!!!!!!!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars repitch
I bought this for my 13 yr old grandson, but it was slow enough for my 3 yr old grandaughter, so i took the boat and flipped it over did a modification to the pitch on the propeller .... now it zooms across our pond at a reasonable speed. the rudder control is very weak but it works... battery life wasnt affected by pitch change... still a good first R/C boat for learners

4-0 out of 5 stars Good starter boat -- good value
This is our family's second RC boat -- this one is faster and is the kids' favorite. The motor seems pretty powerful and it is a fairly fast boat, yet not too fast that my 7 year old daughter can't control it. It turns responsively and accurately and even looks good as it's cruising along.

It has a water tight battery compartment that is easy to open and close although the re-chargeable battery pack is a tight squeeze in the compartment and a little difficult to remove. It also has two ports to drain any water that may have leaked into the hull -- so far, we haven't taken on any water though.

The only disappointment is that the rechargeable battery pack is not included, which means another purchase is necessary for the battery and charger. However, we had two other 9.6 volt ni-cad batteries from RC Trucks that we use with this so we didn't have to buy any batteries. I chose this boat over the less expensive models that only used regular alkaline batteries since it's more convenient and probably cheaper in the long run to just use the rechargeable battery packs.

I'd recommend this one as a good quality, somewhat inexpensive RC boat --especially if you already have the battery pack.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not for Adults
This remote control boat, which I received for X-Mas this year, goes about 2 inches a second. I was expecting something fun to race around the pond behind my apartment. What I got instead was a sluggish, useless, plastic toddler toy. ... Read more
