1-0 out of 5 stars Tony Hawk Stinks!
This game really stinks because it has no point to it. You would be better off having Tony Hawk 2, 3, or 4 for other sytems. It is a better use of money.

1-0 out of 5 stars I should have got something else...
Well this game was ok, when I first got it but it got really boring. I just played the 2 player mode at first and that's probably the best part of this game. The music is really bad. I don't pay money to hear some one cussin'.The gameplay is kind of disapointing, all's you really do is jump, hit a bunch of buttons... jump, hit a bunch of buttons...jump, hit a bunch of buttons...But if I were you I'd look for a better game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Must buy 4 Dreamcast Owners
I heard some people say this game stinks but thatz cuz they don't respect it as the original. They've just been spoiled by THPS3 which is obviously the best game yet, but for the first shot at a THPS game this 1 was a sucess! The Dreamcast version also has improved graphics & sound quality with the same good gameplay as PlayStation. ... Read more

Editorial Review

In Slave Zero, players control a gigantic mechanized man whotrounces through hyperurban landscapes, destroying everything in sight. Notches on Mr.Zero's belt include motorists, helicopters, tanks, pedestrians, and an assortment of robotshis own size.

Slave Zero does a great job of communicating the difference in scale between themain character and the comparatively tiny people, vehicles, and buildings that populatethe city. However, the controls are very complicated, utilizing every button on theDreamcast controller (including the stick and D-pad separately), as well as combinationsof buttons for additional control, such as picking up and hurling cars. Screams andexclamations from innocent bystanders seem unusually loud, and the complete absence ofin-game music exacerbates the already slow pace of the game. Still, some scenes arestellar, and worth wading through the mediocre spots in between. --JeffYoung

Pros:

  • Sci-fi noir-style graphics
  • Highly interactive environments
  • Exciting main character
Cons:
  • Slow pace
  • Choppy animation

4-0 out of 5 stars I was almost a Slave
... Slave Zero is a very nice game, emphasis on the very. The storyline is simple but original, you are controling a pilot who has just stolen a large mecha/android far superior to any Gundam around. Using a variety of weapons, you must ascend the miles high city defeating other slaves as you go. There is no wandering around, you are going up or you're dying. I thought it distracting (fun) that you could pick up cars and throw them. They will explode on contact with anything. Humans are also available for throwing, but they are harder to grab and often end up under foot.

The graphics are fine, they aren't choppy but they aren't jaw dropping either. The controls are annoying, for instance, to pick up something, you have to hit two or three buttons at once. Once you get used to them though, it isn't that bad. The game itself isn't too hard, especially in the easy mode. Sniping is recommended and is all too easy, the enemy makes constant noise. The bosses are easy to beat, but I don't believe it's just me when I say that the last one is invincible. That is why I give Slave Zero 4 points, the last guy is infuriating, I still loathe him. He's about five times bigger than you, has about ten times your health points and a huge weapon that practically kills you in one blow. With that in mind you have to be constantly circling him trying to get him in your sights without getting hit. So it would have been nice if you could end the game, but otherwise it's a fine game. I suggest sticking to two player gaming, it's much more fun and the levels are very intricate. I got lost a couple of times on one level, but that is trivial. At least you can beat the other player... maybe.

One more thing, it was very nice of them to include third and first person views, though personally I thought third person perferable. The city is close set, making it hard to play around when you have a limited view of things. When playing two player games, third person is especially better considering the levels you must play are often small, intricate but small, and the quick pace doesn't allow for looking around for a place to jump to.

4-0 out of 5 stars Slave
Hey, love the action, great weapons, and bots, but is it just me.. or is the ultra slave unbeatable? Zero has lovely gameplay, and I like the game, but it seems to me that I gather alot of weapons, and I know the plot line, have enormous health, and still I cannot beat the last man. Am I to resort to codes or what?

4-0 out of 5 stars Slave Zero, decent mech shooter
Slave Zero while fun with explosive action, giant robots, and many destructive weapons and things to blow up has some flaws as far as graphics and sound. The gaphics are somewhat choppy and sometimes the sound efects sound cruddy even worse there is no in game music, but these are easily overlooked there's enough explosions to make you forget about the game music and great graphics aren't always needed to make a goog game. ... Editorial Review

Gauntlet Legends could've been a fun, mindless, fantasy-themed"hack-'n'-slash" game if Midway had done anything to take advantage of theDreamcast's hardware. Instead, they've created a game that relies a bit tooheavily on the arcade version--that is to say, it looks mediocre, soundsterrible, and ultimately isn't very fun to play in solo mode.

Gauntlet Legends is a 3-D update of the classic Gauntlet arcadeseries. Gauntlet was famous for its hordes of enemies and the fact thatup to four players could play cooperatively. The move to 3-D means there are farfewer enemies to fight (they take up too much processing horsepower), althoughthe visuals have taken a turn for the better. If you've seen this game in thearcade, you'll know exactly what to expect when it loads on your Dreamcast; thetranslation is practically perfect. Unfortunately, the game didn't containcutting-edge graphics in its arcade incarnation--so, don't expect too much inthis home translation. The sound also deserves special mention, because it'sawful. Everything sounds like it was recorded underwater with a cheapmicrophone--some actions aren't accompanied by sound effects at all.

Gauntlet Legends' gameplay is all action, but the lack of special movesmakes it extremely repetitive. Solo players will be bored almost immediately, but the fun factor increases considerably when other players join the game. Fourplayers blasting everything on the screen at once and fighting over power-upsmake for some intense moments. If you're looking for a fun single-player gamewith a fantasy setting, you'd be better off with something like Draconus:Cult of the Wyrm--for dorm-room fun and parties, however, GauntletLegends is a sure bet. --T. 3-0 out of 5 stars Great multi player game...disturbing story line
Gauntlet Legends is a great multi player game if you have the friends. It does get boring as a single player, fast. The graphics are less than spectacular (as with ALL Midway Dreamcast games), but the sound is passable. The game has a disturbing story line which is kind of a turn off and if not for that it would be a great game.

Worth getting if you play it as a multi player, if not then you can let it slip under the radar

4-0 out of 5 stars Only Complant
The only complaint i have for this game is that it uses 1 whole memory card, no other room to save a game on it. But it's as fun to play with as the arcade version.

Editorial Review

Select from more than 30 different fighters as you take to the skies to defend a newly independent republic from its many enemies--for fame, for glory, and most of all: for a price.

Konami's Air Force Delta features simplistic controls with an emphasis on supersonic fighter plane action rather than the mechanics of flight. Those who worry about flap positions and realistic spin modeling won't find either here, but armchair top guns will enjoy the game's shoot-'em-up feel and ultrarealistic graphics.

You assume the role of a mercenary pilot flying missions with very specific goals, such as destroying a convoy of ships or knocking reconnaissance planes out of the sky. Taken one by one, these missions are enjoyable and engaging, but they are all pretty similar and quickly become bland. Succeeding in a mission earns credits to buy new planes--more than 30 beautifully modeled real-world aircraft are available. Unfortunately, the differences between the fighters are mostly cosmetic. While you may find a plane that performs better in a certain mission than others, they all pretty much fly the same way.

The graphics are impressive--but things tend to move too fast to afford much sightseeing. In particular, the fighters are extremely detailed and authentic. The first time you see vapor trails form on your wingtips as you pull a high-g maneuver, your jaw will drop and you'll begin to insist that your friends call you "Maverick."

Air Force Delta is a good "show-off-your-Dreamcast" game that could probably have benefited from a little more time in development. However, it's the perfect game for a quick flying fix. --Aaron Karp

Pros:

  • Lots of fighter aircraft
  • Impressive graphics at close range
  • Very cool, cinematic "mission reply" option
Cons:
  • Bland campaign
  • Not enough variety among planes

5-0 out of 5 stars A truly GREAT flight experience
Air Force Delta is one of the sweetest games on the Dreamcast! The graphics are not great but they are cool and more than get the job done. The varing missions keep the game refreshing and exciting and add a lot of replay value. The music is not worthy of a seperate cd soundtrack but it is good for the game. There are TONS of planes to buy which add some depth to the game because you have to choose a good plane for the various missions.

Is you want a great flying experience for the Dreamcast look no further.

This game is really cool.I never get tired of it.It is so realistic. Its fun to play it.... you have to beat missions and you get money. The money is used to buy more planes.the most expensive one is about 6,000,000 you get about 65,000 or so for every mission. But the planes are very fun to use.this game is better than ....Much better. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Best Game I've ever played!!!!!!!!!
when I got this I thought all the aliens were alive but you're in a vehicle. You can be on either the army or alien team(My best is the aliens). On the army you can ether be a markava,an abrams or I dont know what its called but it's heavy artiliry. On aliens you can be a hover craft,a 2 legged walker,or a spider walker.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not for adults!
Expect to be killed every 30 seconds because the tanks are very slow. This game is only for the kids. An adult will find it to be very frustrating.

There is no real strategy involved. You either blow the enemy up, or get yourself blown up. The cumpter controled characters are pretty good at finding you, so trying to hid is futile!

Don't fall in love with the fact that you can fight as an alien. There are only 3 alien vechiles, and their weaponry is basicly the same. The only differenes is how fast the vechicles are able to drive.

If you want a sega game that is like a PC shooter, then get Spawn instead.

4-0 out of 5 stars Rock and a hard place
This is a great little game, nice graphics, good sound and nice simple addictive gameplay. A warning though, when playing this game single player you wwill be confronted with the toughest game you will ever experience, some of the later missions are nigh on impossible and if you somehow manage to complete it your a better man than me. ... Editorial Review

TrickStyle is one of the most stylishly pleasing games. And theDreamcast version really pumps out the pixels with fluid animation that effortlesslyfollows the hoverboard riders along the tracks. One of the game's designers recentlyexplained that the concept behind the game was for riders to find the path of leastresistance, taking one graceful path down the track like "a drop of mercury." Greatconcept. But this drop met many a brick wall on its way to uncertain victory. The tracksin TrickStyle are not player-friendly, and neither are the computer-controlledopponents that act more like flawless robots than flesh-and-blood competitors.

Still, this game looks so darn cool, you can't resist playing it. The requisite tricks fromsnowboarding games are here, but this time they actually add important power-ups toyour repertoire, favoring function over, dare we say, style. To save yourself thefrustration of trying to consistently win races, you should enjoy this game by watchingthe screen while other more nimble or less leisure-time-deficient friends play. --JeffYoung

  • Jaw-dropping graphics and animation
  • Functional board tricks
  • Contemporary styling

1-0 out of 5 stars Futuristic Racing it is, Fun its not!
A title such as Trickstyle has great potential but suffers for designers with little vision! When playiing this game you WILL get the feeling that it needs more. You will go away feeling short changed. The graphics are cool but the control is not. this game is basically flat with little replay value, the tracks are TOO SHORT and there is no real element in the game that makes it a worthy purchase.

PLAY BEFORE YOU BUY!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Secret Codes makes it easier
A few people don't like the game because its difficult to beat. But if you go to any of the popular game websites, you can get free codes which alow you to win ever race, select every hover board, and every stage.

The graphics are great and you get to do a lot of outrageous moves.

4-0 out of 5 stars I would love to see a sequel!
This is still one of my fave DC racing games. There's a futuristic design style that... isn't poorly created, like most games, this is very cool, it feels like a future world. Also, as you're riding, when you fall from a high height or low height, this gives a sense of reality, like you are actually living the opening scene from the original 'Rollerball' film or a hoverboard version of 'Bullit's car chase. I hated having to do Tricks, so maybe a sequel could change the name to "____Style". Thankfully, I didn't have to do tricks much at all. There aren't too many tracks, some feel the same, but they all have worthwhile, unique elements. Racing against a friend may not be easy, as they should learn the course beforehand. I didn't feel the computer was cheating me out of a win I deserved, I feel this game has a fairly normal difficulty level -- it suited me right. I wished I could play tracks as difficult as the last one! Online play for a sequel would be great, can you imagine going against a capable human player on Japan #5 or so? During it I felt as though I was actually playing this game, instead of just driving past scenery with other character models. There are some dodgy control issues, but how should a hoverboard control? The control has equally beneficial abilities too. I enjoyed the Challenges a fair amount too, the VMU game is to be ignored... I disliked the obnoxious characters, and didn't find them 'cool', they are one-note stereotypes and pretty much just dress in a GAP/popstar/jock/foreign-superman way, I wanted to see futuristic punk clothes or something! You may not like this game, but I love it. The music could be better, but it could be worse too, it does what it needs to do, it can be somewhat ambient in it's own techno way, it could've been as unique as the game itself. I wish I could save cheat options like no time limit. This would be an ideal Xbox racer, but it's gorgeous on DC. At least rent to see if it's for you. ... Read more

Players who thought that NBA 2K was good are in for an evenbetter game of hoops this time around with NBA 2K1. Almost every area ofthe franchise has improved, and now players can hop online and challenge someonein Sioux City, Iowa--or anywhere else--if they please.

Player faces are much more recognizable, and the resolution and detail of thecourt is higher than it was before. The coaches, too, are more animated--raisingtheir hands in the air as a three-pointer goes up and in--and the crowd is morethree-dimensional and lively.

During the game, players will encounter better defense against lay-ups; also, they'll have to break down defenses with quick passing, and post up and backtheir way to the basket. On defense, the computer always looks for easy buckets, which forces players to double-team opponents and keep scorers to theoutside.

Franchise mode is the icing on the cake, as players can draft a team, and signtheir own players and free agents by making offers and orchestrating trades. Afew more special offensive moves would have been nice; but, as is, this is amust-have title for fanatic and casual b-ball fans alike. --Robb Guido

4-0 out of 5 stars It's good but it has bad graphics.
This is a good video game, but the problem is the graphics, man it's bad, and the superstar teams the San Rafael Sega Sports Team and the San Rafael Seganet are good but really racist, because they hardly have black guys on their teams, but I do like the San Rafael Mocap. My favorite players are Sadiki Fuller and Roy Byrd, and the name of their colleges are really funny: Dunk University Very Much, and University Read My Ankle, but is their such college as Light It Up University, and Redman is featured from Def Jam University, and Larry Peacock from Hard Knox College, and Charles Outlaw and Brian Grant. But when the players were made with giant heads, that was freaky, and I didn't like that over camera, but my favorite camera is swivel. I give it a ***** (5 out of 5).

4-0 out of 5 stars best fighter game around
i just have to say this game was great. i rented it around 11 o'clock a.m. i stopped playing it at 12 at night. i was so drawn into it i didnt realize how long i had been playin. it is so real and being in a F-14 Tomcat was a dream it was just like a real HUD display. the only problem was there should be more American fighters, it was all focused around the jap jets, but i can understand it because it was made in japan. lol. so i give it a 4.5 out of 5 . great game but the price is still to high for me to buy .

5-0 out of 5 stars Great flying game
This is a great flying game. Makes you feel like a real pilot with great controls. No, you don't get to blow up a whole lot of things, but it is pretty challenging. Good selection of planes to choose from and a fantastic training mode. It could use a little more variety of modes but the graphics and flight simulation are extremely good. Overall, a great game.

2-0 out of 5 stars Nice to look at for the first 10 minutes or so
but it gets old pretty quickly after that. The terrain looks good and the controls are very easy to operate. But there aren't any combat missions; your entire selection of combat options are dogfighting against either one or two enemy planes. Most of the game consists of target shooting, flying around courses and shooting at baloons. This might be a good choice for a younger child who just wants to fly around some nice scenery and maybe learn to land the plane on the runway. I played it a total of about 2 hours and lost interest. ... Read more

Editorial Review

"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls... Let's Get Ready to Rumble!" calls renowned ring announcer Michael Buffer to start one of the most impressive boxing video games on the market. Ready 2 Rumble takes full advantage of the Dreamcast's advanced technology, and it shows. Each boxer, be it a gorgeous female pugilist or a towering wall of muscle, is beautifully animated in 3-D: watch Tank Thrasher's enormous gut jiggle and bounce as he's knocked to the mat, or see fighters wince when hit or smugly grin when they land a hard punch. Or feel the action with the optional Jump Pack as your controller shakes with each punch and knockdown. The Dreamcast smoothly integrates all of these enhancements while maintaining a high frame rate. The result: Ready 2 Rumble is an incredibly fun game that delivers a knockout punch.

By far, the best feature of the game is the variety of boxers--20 in all--representing a range of personalities and abilities. Afro Thunder, for example, is a trash-talking, Chris Rock-sounding fighter with a repertoire of ring speed, quick jabs, and over-the-top hooks, while Butcher Brown is a heavy-handed thug built like a dump truck. There's something for everyone, with many nationalities, genders, and fighting styles represented. Since each fighter has different speed, reach, and moves, there is a pleasant amount of depth to the game.

Ready 2 Rumble offers two different game modes: Arcade and Championship. Arcade mode is for one or two players, and is simply a series of boxing matches. The single-player option pits you against a computer-controlled opponent, while the two-player format lets you and a buddy hammer it out. Championship mode puts you in charge of your own boxing gym. You start the game with three rookie fighters, facing off in second-rate gyms, and it's your job to train them in hopes of reaching the championship bout.

Championship mode also lets you access Ready 2 Rumble's most innovative feature: the ability to pit your prized fighters against boxers from a friend's gym through the Visual Memory Unit. Just save your stable of boxers onto the VMU and then use it in a buddy's Dreamcast, where you can fight an exhibition match against one of his or her boxers, or arrange a trade. The VMU also lets you save your progress. Without it, all your boxers (and all the secret characters you've managed to unlock) are erased when you turn off the console. But then again, if you've got Ready 2 Rumble, it's unlikely that you'll turn off the console anytime soon. --Mike Fehlauer

Pros:

  • Impressive graphics and boxer animations
  • Variety of personable, quirky, fun boxers
  • Easy-to-learn controls
  • Great use of peripherals (VMU and Jump Pack)
Cons:
  • Punch combinations can be slow

Ready 2 Rumble also has Championship mode which is fun.
You can name your gym and buy equipment to train yourself. And title shots are cool to...But the Prize fights are for the money...

Overall The game is pretty entertaining...It's my favorite Boxing game for the Sega Dreamcast.

Get this game if you have a sega Dreamcast....It's just pure fun!

4-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining Game
My preference is games that have a simple learning curve and have lasting entertainment value. This game has both. You can play well minutes after opening the box and with something like 20 characters, there are always challenges to master each character. My only criticism is of the Championship mode where you train boxers and take them through title fights. The mini-games to train the boxers are pretty weak and the whole process is somewhat tedious.Otherwise, it's a solid game.

5-0 out of 5 stars "Lets get ready to rumble!!"
Now THIS is a cool game. The graphics are very impressive on the Dreamcast. The boxers rule! A cool example is Afro Thunder, who sounds like a combination of Chris Rock and James Brown. My absolute favorite boxer, and one of my favorie video game characters has got to be Damien Black. First, the guy is 7,3", and is {get this} 500 years old. He is huge, his skin is that zombie-grey type of color, and has quite alot of horns on his head {8 to be exact}. What I'm trying to say is: He's the devil, folks. Also, there is this old british guy from the 1800s. Hes actually quite amusing. There is also this Mike Tyson clone, an ancient Indian {one of the only ones who put up a fight against Damien}, and the Russian guy from Rocky 4. Anyway, this game is really cool, especially on the Dreamcast. My rating: Get it! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars 2K1 is very good, but is it better than Madden's series?
I like this game and have not played Madden much at all.
How to control defensive linemen:
off the snap:
press A and hold with heel of thumb
-press trigger L or R for club
-hold A and a trigger, then lightly tap B for spin
-hold A and a trigger, then tap Y for swim maneuver
-hold A and a trigger, then tap X for rip(I think)

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW...football on the Dreamcast peaked here
NFl 2K1 is the best NFL game around! It has great graphics, lots of replay value and great commentary that is not annoyingly repetative. The backround graphics could have been touched up but the games still ROCKS. If you own a Dreamcast (the best system that never made it) then get this

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than 2K2.
This is probably the most complete NFL game there is. Certainly the best one I've ever played. So it's 2002 and the rosters are out of date and the graphics are a little dated. That shouldn't bother you. The passing, running, and catching are all top notch in my opinion. If you get the hang of it on Rookie, bump up the difficulty to Pro. You'll have to be pretty good to do well on Pro. The A.I. doesn't learn your patterns very well, and you can usually win games by running the same plays over and over (I have about 8 plays I run all the time and I won the Super Bowl last season on Pro setting). I can't say how tough it is on All-Pro, but I will find out some day. If you don't mind if your football is a little old, you really should get this one. You can get it for real cheap usually. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars What can I say?
Brings back some good memories of my childhood. I remember fighting over the atari w/ my siblings =).... Trust me, its a must buy, and I would like to thank DC for commin' out with it.

3-0 out of 5 stars So So Fun for Classic Enthusiasts
What do you get when you take great Atari arcade games from the late 70s and early 80s and bring them into the year 2000?You shall know when you play Atari Anniversary Edition. The only games that are really playable are Crystal Castles, Missle Command and Battle Zone.Other than that, everything else plays so horribly with the standard DC control pad that you'll wonder why these games had such an impact on a young game industry. The archive is really cool, but like every other classic collection, it feels pretty sparse. In the end, AAE is a neat little collection of games for people who wondered what it was like before Mario and the likes; just don't expect to spend a lot of time with it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Atari Anniversary Edition
This game is very boring. Maybe it's too old. Objects are so tiny that it's very hard to play. Very disappointed after trying all the games. waste money. If you want to get old games, get the Smash pack. It's much much more fun & all games are great. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars This is a Great Game
This game is a great game. Although it is a little light on role playing elements and a little heavy on non scenic dungeons and towers, and battling against monsters in a turn base enviroment (which im not sayin is bad) it is still a great game. The characters are pretty cool, and at some times funny. The game it self was designed to look like an anime, but without the cel-shading technology that is produced in Jet Grind Radio and Jet Set Radio Future (which you all should also check out), and actually I think it would be a great one at that given a little more depth in story line. I think if you love RPGs you should buy it

2-0 out of 5 stars Repetitive and boring...
This game if fun for a while, but there are definitely some better ones out there to choose from. All the dungeons are randomly generated every time you enter them. They're all just long, thin almost above view hallways with hidden traps that connect larger rooms... with more annoying hidden traps. As you get further in the game they become longer and longer. They end up being about 40 floors of doing the same old fighting, finding randomly generated treasures and searching for the stairs to the next level. You may as well not even take the time to level up your characters unless they have huge gaps between them (ie: mag is level 50 and chain is level 30). The monsters only level up as you do. I think the bosses stay 5 levels ahead of you at all times. I know at least the final boss does. I had to level up to 100 just so he would have to reach his max level of 100 and be even with my characters. There are very few (if any) reasons to keep playing once you finished the game. No hidden characters, super weapons or bosses to search for. The game is basically spoon fed to you as you progress. I'll admit, I did have fun with it. But if you want a decent RPG for the dreamcast, I'd suggest you check out Skies of Arcadia.

All in all, The gameplay is pretty boring and the graphics and sound are mediocre.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pure Brilliance!
My friend got this game one day, and we took turns playing it. While my friend was playing, I got the idea that it was a pretty good game, but probably all looks (those graphics, wow). But then I played it, and my mind just went to a different place. It was just too amazing. I started noticing all the awesome features and attacks, and all of it was just a truley awesome experiance. Needless to say I bought it the next morning! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
This game is an amazing soccer game because you are in total control of the players i.e. instead of automatically receiving the ball when you touch it to the next player, the next layer has to go get( which is you controling it.)

1-0 out of 5 stars Games like this NEED a minus star feature!!!
Virtual Striker is possibly the worst soccer game of all time and it is a shame that the Dreamcast has to lay claim to it. There is no redeeming quality for fellow soccer fans and nothing to make it even worth a rental.

Go get UEFA DREAM SOCCER it is way cool and 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 times better than this excuse for a sports game. My thats a lot of zeros.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Game
Based on some of the reviews for this game, I was a little leary about purchasing it.But my kids like soccer, so we bought it.

I'm not a big soccer fan, but I love this game and so do my kids.I think I like this game even more than NFL 2K2 and NBA 2K1 (Sacrilege, I know). The graphics are excellent and the gameplay is fast (although a speed burst button would be nice). Some reviewers have criticized the button configuration, but we haven't had any problems (of course my 7, 8, and 10 year olds catch on fairly fast).Others said the game wasn't realistic, but it's like watching a game on TV and the scores reflect this.So far, I haven't been able to beat the COM, even on easy mode, and I think that's another reason for some of the negative reviews (some egos have been bruised). There is very little commentary, but the incredible crowd cheers makes up for that.

Buy this game! It's great! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars saturday morning buzz
I bought this game for my nephew to play, but it turned out to be a little more chalenging than i thought. He had some trouble navigating buzz in the right direction and shoot at tragets at the same time. If you stay too long in one place more robots come back to attack you even after destroying them. Also, the time limit makes it hard for a slow player to finish each level. Throughout the game, graphics or film clips from the saturday morning program are shown. The presentation is almost seamless- almost, since you can tell some clips don't fit a certain game scene exactly.
Don't be confused with the Toy story 2 game. This game has no connection to the the movie with Woody and other toys. As an action game, it is not bad, ( all the worlds are 3D, eventhough the film clips are 2D). Although this game claims to have 7 worlds, it actually goes back to three previous worlds (a harder level the second time I assume).

this game would be good for someone over six who loves the tv series.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best than Disney Movies
If you want a Buzz Lightyear for you, now you can have it with this incredible game. The graphics are cool and so is the gameplay. You can interact with all the caracter of the movie (like Mr. Potato Head). This game is cool and its very charged of fun. Go and get it. ... Read more

Editorial Review

If you think it's hard to flag down a cab in a big city, try driving one in Sega's zany straight-from-the-arcade port of Crazy Taxi. If you're one of the teeming fans who eagerly played CrazyTaxi in the arcade at a buck a pop, then this game is a must-buy, if only from a purely economicstandpoint. Even those who don't know the difference between Crazy Taxi and the long-runningTV series Taxi will immediately recognize the appeal of this game. In fact, this game is soimpressive and addictive that it should easily convince a whole new wave of buyers to purchase a SegaDreamcast.

What's so hot about Crazy Taxi? For starters, the graphics sport the most impressive re-creation ofa living city ever seen in a video game. The level of detail is astounding and never ceases to surprise theplayer as block after unique block speeds by. The city is a distilled version of San Francisco with somelandmarks and neighborhoods left intact. Making it seem all the more real are apparent product placementsof real-world retail locations such as KFC, Tower Records, and Pizza Hut. And just about everything yousee on the screen is interactive: boxes, phone booths, and mailboxes topple when bumped or smashed, pedestrians leap and tumble out of your path, and the myriad of traffic attempts to avoid your erratichigh-speed antics. While some driving games brag about a lack of boundaries, this one delivers--playersdrive on the ocean floor, off the second floor of a parking garage, through parks, and down stairs. A helpfulhovering arrow points drivers in the correct direction, but you can truly drive wherever you want at anytime, making for tons of replay value.

While the game is a direct port from the arcade game of the same name, there's plenty more depth in thehome version. In addition to the city that appears in the coin-op version, the Dreamcast version alsoincludes an entirely new city. Crazy Taxi includes a trunk-load of mini-games that help to teachdrivers how to perform the special speed boosts and maneuvers in the game.

Though this game would be plenty exciting without any sounds at all, it has an adrenaline-pumpingsoundtrack supplied by punk crossover bands the Offspring and Bad Religion, as well as some good, ifsometimes monotonous, dialogue between the driver and the passengers. --Jeff Young

Pros:

  • Wonderful, realistic graphics
  • Easy to get into, and full of many long hours of addictive play
  • Even more to offer than the fantastic arcade game upon which this is based
Cons:
  • On very few occasions players will encounter some graphic slowdown

4-0 out of 5 stars A good game to come back to from time to time
This game is a lot of fun to play. There are very different pretty large cities that can be fun to explore some time if you get tired of driving people around. The only real problem with this game is that after a while you can get pretty bored, especially after you find the handful of awesome places to get stunt points, and you end up going no where else.Outside of this the game is great, and if you get bored try playing the arcade mode where you get little time, but gain more as you drop people off. Also I if you get bored just drive around and see what you can find. Finally when you have done all that you can set the game aside for a little while, and come back to it and enjoy again!!

4-0 out of 5 stars good game-i suggest it
first off this game is amazing. the graphics are not great but are OK.the only reason i gave this game four stars was that it would have been better if there was a MAIN GAME with missions. but other than that the game is sick.

4-0 out of 5 stars A fun game for a change of pace
You're either going to get into the spirit of this game or you're going to think it's a piece of juvenile ... and hate it.I liked the game, but then, it reminded me a lot of the old Mario Brothers game for the original Nintendo gaming system.Of course, the graphics are much higher in this game, but the game play is sort of similar and very straightforward, with the game always pushing you in just one direction.

You control Donald Duck, who has only two moves he can use in the game, jumping and a punch. So, using just these two moves, you move from level to level, trying to find your nephews toys and locate the boss piece in each area so you can fight the boss on each level to progress to the next level.

Once you get the basics of the game down, it's not very difficult, mostly learning the patterns of the game, like the aforementioned Mario Brothers.Still though, the game is light and fun and the learning curve takes you from easy to slightly difficult.Children will probably enjoy this more than adults will, but adults can enjoy it too.I should know, I'm one and I enjoyed it.

So, if you're in the mood for a game with the feel of one of the classic games from the Nintendo era, I'd recommend that you check this game out. There are worse ways to spend a couple of hours, after all.Hope you like it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Really Quacky Game!
This game is a really neat 1 player game. Donald Duck is on a journy to save Daisy by finding his nephews toys, beat a record time on each fun-filled level, and gather pieces of the Boss Warp Pad-he must find 4 to generate the teleporter to defeat the boss. This game is not only fun, but fun-ny! I highly recomend this game. If you don't like to take chances, rent it first and see for yourself. ... Read more

Get past the broadly sketched X and O graphics of past football simulation games with the finely detailed NFL Quarterback Club 2001. Precision artificial intelligence (AI) brings out the chess aspects of the game without taking away any of the sport's brute power. The team-management functions let you draft rookies and sign, trade, and release players, all while managing your salary cap. There are 31 team-specific playbooks to work from, or you can create your own playbook--heck, you can even create your own players and team! You can also settle those "what if" questions by replaying key moments from historical Super Bowl games using authentic game stats. This installment of the series brings incredibly detailed player models--including injury tape, eye black, and breathe strips--motion-captured animation, and the all-new shoulder charge for breaking through defenders. And for you third-string players, there are E-Z Pass and E-Z Catch functions. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars The Crazy Floigan Brothers
Floigan Bros. is a pretty cool game for Dreamcast, but it was very very short. It can be beaten in a day or less. There's alot of camera problems too. It's still a good game though. The voice overs are great, and the characters are funny. The game will remind you of an old Saturday morning cartoon. It's a good game to play when you bored or just wanna have fun.
