4-0 out of 5 stars Very lifelike, but not as much entertainment as expected.
I must say, a very well job done with the graphics of the balls, tables, and maybe even the cue sticks. You can set up the ball to go almost precisely where you want it to in 7 different games. You can easily unlock 5 more and get even more. Billiards is fun, the rocket launcher is fun, and the 24 cents game is fun and the graphics are all incredible, but the rest, we need a little more entertainment. But still, it's the only pool game found on Dreamcast and you probably couldn't make it much funner than this, anyway, so, a good bargain it is.

4-0 out of 5 stars Maximum Pool is a great pool game for any system!
Maximum Pool is worth the time and money for all ages. It's very easy to learn. I like the comments of Jim, Amy, Linda, and Buddy, although Brad is a bit rude! This game has 7 games. When you beat each of the characters in the highest level, you unlock 5 more games. Then to unlock 5 new shaped tables for the 5 new games, beat them in the highest level again. My favorite game is the unlockable 24 cents. It's very addictive, and if your being crushed by your opponent, you caneasily comeback by sinking dimes and the quarter. The graphics and the realistic play are unbelievable. You can either use guidelines or not. What cracks me up is when the woman screams sometimes when the ball flies
off the table. I really don't know why I didn't give this 5 stars. Maybe it's just not perfect, but extremely fun indeed!

2-0 out of 5 stars 10 minutes of fun
I have recently bought this game, and i was really thinking it was going to be fun. I like pool, when I personally play, but the game plays the game for you. It is not a challange, and after 10 minutes you will put it away and move on. My suggestion is to save your money and by something that you know you will enjoy! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible.
The gameplay of this ... game is simply annoying. It's very hard to steer the aircraft and the graphics pretty much[are bad]. There's no fun in shooting and there are no people whatsoever. The missions are basically all the same and no fun at all. Incoming is a horrible game to buy, rent, or even play at a friend's house.

2-0 out of 5 stars Classic Case of Meaningless Variety
Incoming still looks fairly good, and has an occassional interesting mission. However, it never gels as a complete game, but rather as a collection of often tedious and boring missions with no point.

Worse, the many vehicles you command are there only to force "variety", each with unnecessarily differing control schemes to fulfill the SAME purpose as another machine.

Rage had another early shooter on DC that was much more successful from a gameplay standpoint--Expendable.

1-0 out of 5 stars This game sucks
Come, if you read the review, you'll think that the games is fantastic, it isn't. In the beginning everything is Ok, but went you get to level 6, everything going down the toilet, if you lost one of the mision you have to begins again the level, that sucks; think this, you are on mision ten on level six and you die and boom you have to begins again the level. Level 7,8,9,10, one mision that it take to past about 10 minutes and boom, again, you finish the game.

If you who read this review, are tinking to buy this games, look to the other way and buy another one. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars This is a Great Game
This game is a great game. Although it is a little light on role playing elements and a little heavy on non scenic dungeons and towers, and battling against monsters in a turn base enviroment (which im not sayin is bad) it is still a great game. The characters are pretty cool, and at some times funny. The game it self was designed to look like an anime, but without the cel-shading technology that is produced in Jet Grind Radio and Jet Set Radio Future (which you all should also check out), and actually I think it would be a great one at that given a little more depth in story line. I think if you love RPGs you should buy it

2-0 out of 5 stars Repetitive and boring...
This game if fun for a while, but there are definitely some better ones out there to choose from. All the dungeons are randomly generated every time you enter them. They're all just long, thin almost above view hallways with hidden traps that connect larger rooms... with more annoying hidden traps. As you get further in the game they become longer and longer. They end up being about 40 floors of doing the same old fighting, finding randomly generated treasures and searching for the stairs to the next level. You may as well not even take the time to level up your characters unless they have huge gaps between them (ie: mag is level 50 and chain is level 30). The monsters only level up as you do. I think the bosses stay 5 levels ahead of you at all times. I know at least the final boss does. I had to level up to 100 just so he would have to reach his max level of 100 and be even with my characters. There are very few (if any) reasons to keep playing once you finished the game. No hidden characters, super weapons or bosses to search for. The game is basically spoon fed to you as you progress. I'll admit, I did have fun with it. But if you want a decent RPG for the dreamcast, I'd suggest you check out Skies of Arcadia.

All in all, The gameplay is pretty boring and the graphics and sound are mediocre.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pure Brilliance!
My friend got this game one day, and we took turns playing it. While my friend was playing, I got the idea that it was a pretty good game, but probably all looks (those graphics, wow). But then I played it, and my mind just went to a different place. It was just too amazing. I started noticing all the awesome features and attacks, and all of it was just a truley awesome experiance. Needless to say I bought it the next morning! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Sega's Golden Age
All the games in this collection were loved by everyone the day they came out. Although not all of them have withstood the test of time, this collection is still worth it especially when you consider the price. Shining Force is a classic and one of the predecessors to games like Final Fantasy Tactics. Phantasy Star II is a RPG classic that no enthusiast should be without. Streets of Rage 2 is a classic beat em up that can still be enjoyed on a slow day when you have nothing else to do. Sonic is of course Sonic but Sonic 2 would have definitely have been better. Revenge of Shinobi is fun but not as fun as it used to be. Vectorman was one of the games that proved that the Genesis still had some life when the Genesis was close to being retired. Golden Axe is fun but can get frustrating after a while. Altered Beast is fun only for nostaglic kicks since the gameplay is severely dated. Virtua Cop 2 is alright but would be better if you had a gun peripheral. Wrestle War is just boring after five minutes and it will wear your thumbs out. Sega Swirl and Columns are entertaining if you like puzzle games but in my view no one has been able to top tetris. So if you are a fan of "retro" games, this collection will definitely be worth the investment. You'll get hours of entertainments from the jewels hidden in this game. I'm still trying to beat Phantasy Star II.

3-0 out of 5 stars Classic games, but not a classic experience.
No doubt about it, these SEGA games are classics. It will keep you entertained for hours and hours, specially if you're playing with a friend. The only thing I didn't like was the sound. It sounds weird and nothing like the classic games. Other than that... A must have!

4-0 out of 5 stars Streets of Rage 2

Vanishing Point's title suggests the aim of the developers: to achieve a true, endless view without pop-up or fog, so that players can see to the horizon. The game runs at a constant 60 frames per second and features straightforward racing elements; also, it features a stunt mode, in which realistic physics are implemented in unrealistic events, such as slaloms, barrel rolls, and jumping. There are 8 one-player tracks, 4 two-player tracks, and 13 stunt tracks; all of which are available in forward, reverse, and mirrored combinations. Vanishing Point's tune-up shop allows user-friendly but powerful modification of your vehicle's specifications that can be tested on a special tune-up shop track. All of the cars are licensed from top manufacturers like Audi, BMW, and Lotus (to name but a few), and the development team has worked with engineers in the auto industry to ensure that the vehicular physics are both accurate and realistic. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars You may have to purchase a gameshark
If you liked Daytona USA then you will definitely love Vanishing Point. The graphics are perfect and there is a nice selection of cars/vans. The only bad thing is that its very hard to beat, and you have to beat each stage in order to unlock the cars.

Therefore you should buy a cheap gameshark. With it, you can unlock all the cars and tracks. There are over 30 cars and 8 tracks. Daytona USA for Dreamcast is also a great game, but it has only 14 cars.

1-0 out of 5 stars Good Looking
This game looks awesome!!!But when I got it, it didnt work!!!So thats why I gave it 1 star.

5-0 out of 5 stars Much more than a racing game
Vanishing Point for the Sega Dreamcast is much more than a racing game.

In this game you can not only ace against the computer or your friend but you can also play as a stunt driver where you do many tricks and challenges such as long jump, barrell roll, etc. For every stunt you do you do you get points based on completing it and how well you do in it which you use to unlock the next trick or more cars.

The graphics while racing are amazing. The cars look very real and when you crash sparks fly from them. The scenery is very realistic too. The mountains look just like they do in and aroudn Arizona and every now and then you'll see huge airplanes flying overhead. Another neat thing is that when you a riding the sun will glare at you and actually mark it harder to drive.

This is a great racing simulator and it also gives a stiff challenge using the stunt driving mode. ANother plus is that this game has a very low price. If you want a good raicng game and own a Dreamcast this is a must have. ... Read more

Rayman 2: The Great Escape packs more charm and surprisesin a single level than most games can muster in their entire length. This 3-Dplatformer is designed in the same vein as Super Mario 64 for theNintendo 64and the Gex serieson the PlayStation. With the notable exception of SonicAdventure, Dreamcast owners have suffered through a dry spell whenit comes to action jumping games on the 128-bit system. Rayman 2was worth the wait.

The back of the case describes Rayman 2's graphics as "lush," butthat may be an understatement. The game's environments and effects areimpressive. We were awed by the amount of detail that has been designedinto many of the game's environments. Perhaps more amazing is that thegame suffers no slowdown despite the high-resolution visuals.

Pretty graphics aside, Rayman 2 delivers solid gameplay that willsuck in both casual and hardcore gamers. The controls are intuitive andspecial moves are easy to pull off. Rayman has a limited set ofmoves--basically he can run, jump, and shoot energy balls. Analog speed controlis fully implemented, letting users pounce through a field ofbutterflies or tiptoe around a sleeping guard. Several puzzles arescattered throughout the game, but they are so ingeniously designed thatyou'll never feel overwhelmed by their complication.

We were hard-pressed to come up with many drawbacks to this game. Oneslight flaw is the camera angle, which can sometimes interfere with yourability to accurately control the on-screen action. Fortunately, thiscan usually be amended with a few quick presses of the camera controlbuttons. Other than that, Rayman 2 is as good as it gets in thisgenre. Better still, Dreamcast owners get a special bonus: this versioncontains some extra levels you won't find anywhere else. If you havemultiple systems, this is the version to get. --T. Byrl Baker

Pros:

  • Outstanding visuals
  • Tight control
  • Excellent level design

  • Has some 3-D camera problems
  • Sound effects lack punch

4-0 out of 5 stars Definitely a good buy
I bought myself a used Dreamcast last year, and so far Rayman 2 has been one of the best games I have for it.

For fans of the Playstation version, it is a slight disappointment that there aren't actual voices for the cutscenes, which was something that added to the game.

There are some better things about it, though. For one, the frames per second is 60, as oppose to the PS1 version's 30.The graphics are very sharp, and the animation is very well done.

The levels are slightly different than its Playstation counterpart, and involves more maneuvers and features. Also, there is an exclusive multiplayer level found only on the Dreamcast version.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who still has a working Dreamcast.Oh, and it only takes up two blocks of memory space on the VMU, so memory is not an issue.Unless you only have one block.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best Dreamcast games you can buy!
Rayman 2 is a GREAT game! It's graphics are good, and it's gameplay is simply perfect!EVERY Dreamcast owner should get this game! It's challenging, intriguing, and fun. You're supposed to think your way through massive levels (54 to be exact) to get the 4 Masks of Polokus. It's really cool!Get RAYMAN 2: THE GREAT ESCAPE!

4-0 out of 5 stars Much Better then the PlayStation version (except...)
I first played Rayman 2 on the PlayStation. I loved the game, the voice acting most of all. When I bought my Dreamcast, I bought Rayman 2 for it. I love the Dreamcast version even better. The graphics are absolutly fantastic, as is the music. The only problem I have with it is that the Dreamcast version doesn't have the voice acting. Instead it has everybody talking some gibberish language. This was a big let down, and it's the only thing that's preventing me from giving it 5 stars. However, it's not enough to make me suggest not buying it. You'll have a pretty tough time getting everything in the game, so it will make you come back for more. If you're a fan of adventure games, you really should take a look at Rayman 2 (Dreamcast or PlayStation). I can't wait untill Ubi Soft puts Rayman 3 out on GameCube! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Yeowza!
Great game. Mind-boggling superbness. Except one thing. Any and all FR cars (front-engine, rear-wheel drive cars) are nearly impossible to prevent from spinning out in the rain.
So....I'm in the final few chapters, and my best car is a Toyota Celica GT-FOUR cuz it's the most powerful car available to me that isn't FR!!! And for the difficulty? Damn. Frustrating much....but that's what makes a good game....even though I'm not able to skillfully drive an RX-7 like I'd like to!!!
Overall....9 out of 10.

1-0 out of 5 stars Kudos 4 me...kudos 4 you..kudos 4 everyone...except the game
From what I read about Metropolis Street Racer I expected a solid racing game with speed but got neither. The game favors no contact driving instead of fun...uh I mean speed. Imagine a racing gamme with no speed...who on earth could think of such a dumb concept its like a Sonic game without speed or a Doom type game without guns

Really a sad disapointment. The graphics are okay but the game play SUCKS!! Avoid this like SARS

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
I'm probably one of the few people that gave a review that actually beat the game, so I know when its good and when it isnt.

The graphics in this game are good although when youre driving at night its hard to see and apprantly it rains in tunnels. The views are good except they should have had one from the driver's viewpoint. Other good points about the graphics are when u shift gears (auto. or man.) u can see the driver shifting. Also, the tires can and will smoke when they should and the right tires too. If u press start and put the tv camera on it like ur watching someone drive and when u do donuts and fishtails it looks pretty cool. Overall the graphics are really good. 9/10

The music for the most part sucks, however u can turn the volume to 0 and either just here ur engine and the other cars' engines or u can listen to ur own music on something other than ur dreamcast. The engine sounds may seem repetitive, but i noticed between the mustang and the skyline, they sound the same except the mustang has a whistling noise when it gets to around 60mph, thats the only i noticed but im sure there are more small differences like that. The sound changes when ur view changes. With the TV camera u cant here the engine but u can hear everthing else. When have the view from the bumper the engine is loud. when u have the outside view then it sounds just like any of the other cars. As the other cars get closer they sound louder. This definitely helps alot. U will here ur tires squeak when ur burnout or skid and u will here the rain as its falling. Sounds good, 8/10

When i first got this game, i thought that i was ripped off, u start of with 3 really crappy cars. As the game went on i got better cars. The first few chapters are pretty boring, but once u get some better cars the game will get better. Eventually u will end up with cars like the 300zx, supra, rx-7, mustang, and of course the skyline gt-r. And as for the people who think the cars in this game are slow, read the features, 40 licensed SPORTS cars, not supercars or f1 cars. and besides, these arent very accurate versions of these cars, in a good way of course, i have gone 180mph with the skyline, and 185 with the supra. And besides, what other racing game will allow u to drive a lawnmower. (I think i got to 100mph with it) Ive had the game for almost 2 years now and i still play it every once in a while. Once u get into the game u wont be able to get out of it. U will also get better as the game goes on so dont worry about the difficulty. The kudos system is not bad at all and there are ways to easily stack up on them. Fun to play, 9/10

Overall i would have to give this game a 10/10. I dont recommend renting this game though. Buy it and give it a chance, u wont regret it. ... Read more

Editorial Review

The battle that pits the noble Jedi Knights against the nasty TradeFederation continues in Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles in itstriumphant form on the Dreamcast. For fans of very basic arcade beat-'em-ups,this is quite possibly the most improved translation of a bad PlayStation gameever made for the Dreamcast. Saber-swinging action on a console never has lookedbetter.

Yes, the game has bright and shiny graphics that take advantage of theDreamcast's extra processing muscle. The music and sound effects also areexcellent, and probably are the elements that capture the atmosphere of thefilms most effectively. But the game relies heavily on the basicwalk-from-left-to-right-and-chop-up-the-baddies formula. Jedi PowerBattles really hasn't moved this style of gameplay forward from thenow-ancient Double Dragon and Final Fight games of yore.

Fortunately, LucasArts made quite a few wise tweaks for this new version. Inaddition to the original playable characters (Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, andMace Windu), the Dreamcast version adds the speedy Ki-Adi-Mundi. In addition todistinctive speed, strength, and personal style of saber attack, each characterhas special Force powers that get stronger as the game progresses. Of course, using your lightsaber like a Louisville Slugger to hit laser blasts into linedrives is the coolest Jedi trick in the game.

The Dreamcast version runs very quickly and smoothly (supposedly at 60 framesper second), no matter how much action is taking place on the screen. New tothis version are training levels for up-and-coming Jedis and a cool mano amano fighting mode (think Street Fighter with lightsabers) that'sgood for a few laughs.

Without the Star Wars name, this game could've been considered ratherordinary. But Jedi Power Battles delivers the fun for all who ever wanteda chance to go toe-to-toe with Darth Maul and all of his friends from the DarkSide. Neither original nor deep in gameplay, Jedi Power Battles does showthat the Force is still strong in the Dreamcast. --Mark Brooks

Pros:

  • Very good graphics, music, and sound
  • Nice extras like hidden characters, training mode, and one-on-one fight modeadd to its value
Cons:
  • It's basically yet another mindless beat-'em-up with lots of jumping
  • Could've been a bit longer

4-0 out of 5 stars A dazzling experience on the Dreamcast
When I bought this game I already owned the playstation version and believed that this would be a terrible port much like Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation onto the Dreamcast.I was wonderfully surprised when I played this game finally, it was great. The graphics are surprisingly good, better even than some of today's releases on "superior" systems. The game controls well, the sound is well. . . its John Williams, and the replay value is seemingly endless.I have been truly won over to this game after initially being skeptical. One of the best aspects of the game is the two player mode(a seemingly lost art in the video game world). Here you can join forces with a friend or you can wield your lightsaber against one another. This game also serves as a great solution for the lightsaberless ps2 owners since one can now purchase a Dreamcast and this game for around $$$$, that's right the price of a brand new Playstation 2 game. This game is a must for any lover of Star Wars or anyone just looking for a fun 1-2 player action game.

5-0 out of 5 stars the best starwars game ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this game is the best game ever!! the graphics are outstanding. The plot is also easy to understand.the 2 player mode is awesome.I would reccomend this game to anyone and everyone!!! I have got to the 6th level. I still play all the other levels to.

5-0 out of 5 stars awsome game
this game was hard at first to master the controls but when you got the hang of it, it was an awsome game. If you dont buy this game then at least rent it or something. This game doesnt match to Shenmue or Shenmue2 but its a really good game. It's as if the game pulls you in with it and you are the jedi master. Get this game before its to late. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Horrible game big waste of moneySONIC ADVENTURE 2 RULES!
Aerowings has a nice veriety of planes to choose from. The plane graphics are great but the enviromental graphics arn't so good. The first times you play it it can be fun to land and take off the plane, but soon it just gets kinda borin'. You don't get to shoot down other planes and make them crash to the sea or blow up all the buildings, it's just fly'in around like an air show. You don't get to land on any air craft carriers so that makes it no fun! The music can get very annoying, somtimes it makes me feel like smashing my fist into my T.V screen to stop that horrible racket! Even if you like this game in the begening you'll get so bored of it you'll wish you hadn't even bought it!Overall I would give this a thumbs down 2 star failer. Don't waste your money on this other games like Airforce Delta are good. Here are my ratings if you wish to read them.

graphics: Horrible

music: Even Worse

missions; Boring

replay value: All of the Above

overall rating; 2 stars!(PATHETIC)

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game!!
I recieved this game nearly a year ago, and it still has my interest. It is full of different aircraft which are very accurate. Also, this game is a console flight simulator, acutallyit is the first one I've seen. The graphics are fairly good for what the game is. I give Aerowings 5 stars!! *****

5-0 out of 5 stars Very realistic flight simulator and aerobatic trainer
I just got this game for Christmas, and I just can't stop playing it -- I love it!!

The game is the most realistic flight simulator game I have ever played. The realism comes from accurate aerodynamic interpretations of stick movements, flaps, landing gear, etc...If you ever wanted to be a real pilot, then this game is for you.It is such an accurate simulation that it might even help you earn your pilot's license.

The game is organized into 3 sections: training, map missions, and free flight. In most games, the training section is a small demo that you just have to get through to get on with the game --- not here!Training is the bulk of the game, and is itself divided into 2 sections -- basic flight training, and advanced aerodynamics. The basic flight training takes you through maneuvers like landing, taking off, rolls, loops. Each training chapter must be completed before advancing. And completing each chapter is not as easy as you may first expect. You get briefed on the training flight, execute it, and then get feedback and rated on how you performed. You are striving for excellence, because the maneuvers must be executed with extreme precision, because the goal of the game is to join an aerobatic flight team similar to the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds. The aerobatic training includes maneuvers like barrel rolls around your flight leader, loops in formation, etc...very very tricky, and a complete joy to practice.

If you're looking for a "shoot-em-up", then this isn't what you're looking for.But if you're looking for the best flight simulator and aerobatic trainer, then Aero Wings is the game you want. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Magical Racing Tour
This game is tons of fun.We got this after a trip to Disney World and it has all the major rides. This game is so realistic that I got a bit "sea-sick" on Pirates of the Carribean. It is great fun and challenging as well.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad, very realistic Disney scenes
This game is a must buy for Disney fans. There are somewhere between 10-15 seperate races in various Disney World settings -- mainly rides. They even have Test Track. All of the scenery is very close to the real thing.

The racing itself starts off fairly easy (not too easy) and gets progressively harder. You have to win a particular race to "unlock" the next race or 2.A few of the races aren't against other opponents, but against the clock.Test Track for example requires you to find 30 coins in the alloted time. Some of the races are very difficult to master.I'm still working on Haunted Mansion!!

A good game.Worth the money, especially for Disney fans.

2-0 out of 5 stars Unforgiving and mediocre
Looney Tunes Space Race had real potential and after reading many reviews from different sites I bought it. To my suprise I found it to be unforgiving and dull. The tracks need some more variety, the characterss are small in number and there are too many items to use at any point in time. This may not be a bad thing but the items are reharshed and dull. How many things can you drop on someone?

The graphics is the games only high point! The tracks have no barriers so you can FALL OFF ALMOST EVERY ONE. This makes for a steep learning curve and may be a turn-off for some. Back to the items, because there are so many to be used by you and the computer you never really enjoy the racing element. If you win a race its because of pure luck (i.e getting a useful item at the right time) and not due to skill...BIG turn off.

With unforgiving AI opponents, lame items, gameplay based on luck and uninspired tracks you could make this a rental or a borrow from a friend...just don't but!!

Mario Kart annyone?

3-0 out of 5 stars Another mediocre DC cart game . . .
On paper, this game looks outstanding:a good franchise, the "new" (at the time) cel shading techniqe to make the Looney
Tunes look even more in their element, and the willingness to take the LT cartoon cliches to the extreme, creating a living, breathing cartoon race with you in it.

Unfortunately, it falls a little flat in a number of areas.Control is consistent and acceptable, but the hover-scooters just don't do it for me.The tracks play like an extremely easy version of Wipeout. What was wrong with using karts? It's the control, which honestly might be a little TOO precise and TOO fast for its own good that makes the game seem monotonous. The easy tracks are far too easy and the rollercoaster tracks are all fairly similar in how they are played. For those of you who have played Crash Team Racing, you'll miss the variety, the jumps and mud bogs, the tight courses, the ones on ice, and the speedy ones with lots of obstacles.

Second, there are a TON of power ups, and the computer, as in most kart games, cheats like crazy. The power ups always provide the randomness to the gameplay, but in this particular game, the near contstant beatings you'll take make the game unbearable at times, constantly stopping and starting again. That said, winning is a fairly simple matter.Get a bunch of rocket boosts, sit back in the middle or back of the pack where you're somewhat protected, and in the final stretch, blast past the competition.Works most of the time, and is a perfect example of just how talent and skill are devalued by this game.

All this would be at least a little tolerable if the game held up to its promise of being an immersive Looney Tunes environment.True, the tracks will all look familiar to those of you who have watched enough Bugs Bunny cartoons (especially from the Chuck Jones era) to memorize the lines by heart, and true, the Acme powerups (straight out of a Roadrunner cartoon) are as cool and well done as any you'll see in any kart game, and yes, the characters are well animated, BUT, the game loses it's luster when, halfway through the first race, you've already heard all five of Daffy Duck's catch phrases.Woulda been nice if they would have given the characters, I dunno, maybe another twenty or so things to say AND if they wouldn't talk so much that you'll get tired of them and want to turn the sound down.Of course, their talking is usually in direct response to either using a power-up on someone else, or getting blown up yourself, which, as I mentioned earlier, happens about every ten seconds in some races.

I picked this came up ... used, and that's an acceptable price for it.Unfortunately, the DC will die without the cart game that it should have had. It's obvious a lot of work went into this one, and it's a shame that usability testing didn't make this game everything that it could have been.

5-0 out of 5 stars Looney Toons get a little wacky!
This game is so much fun!You race on different tracks and just race on your Looney Toon car and have fun. You get to pick a player from Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, Bugs Bunny, Sylvester, Porky Pig, Marvin the Martian, Wille E. Coyote, and Elmer Fudd! This game can be up to four players at once racing each other on tons of different tracks! This game has little boxes that have "FAKE" weapons to get your opponent to slow down. For EXAMPLE: Falling Elephants, laser guns, instant storms, bombs, and many other wacky things. This game might have a little bit of mild violence, but your kids will love it!There is no blood and guts or anything.I think everyone who has a segadreamcast should have this game! ... Editorial Review

Are you sick of fighting games that require months of practicejust to master the basic moves? Try JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, aside-scrolling 2-D fighting game that puts the focus squarely onkicking butt. And along with the great controls and colorful graphicsthat look like they were ripped straight out of a cartoon, players aretreated to a fairly entertaining story as the game progresses.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure adds a few more twists to the standard2-D fighting genre, and the strangest are the sidekicks called Standsthat each player has. These familiars occasionally enter the fray whenthe action heats up, and combined attacks with the characters and theStands are the most powerful in the game. The onscreen action can get alittle confusing since so many things are happening at once, but thesimplistic controls help keep things manageable. JoJo's BizarreAdventure is not the best 2-D fighting game ever made--in fact, inmany ways it seems downright dated when compared to superior 3-Dfighters such as Soul Calibur and Dead or Alive 2.However, if you are seeking a simple fighting fix, JoJo's BizarreAdventure does make a solid and colorful addition to the Dreamcastlineup. --T. 3-0 out of 5 stars odd game, odd play
Jojo's bizzare adventure is a very strange game. the closest thing I can think of that even remotely is similiar to this is darkstalkers (also made by capcom I believe) the controls are hard to get a hold of, especially on the dreamcast controller, and the graphics are not up to the machines capabilities. (In fact the graphics are very similar to those used on the saturn version of darkstalkers.) the play istelf is quite limited, combos and special moves are difficult to pull off, although they are funny at some times. The horrible quality of the japanese dub (japanese dub is better!) makes the game even more enjoyable and makes you feel like you are playing an import game. all together, the package scores about a 3.3.

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay beginner fighter
This isn't the most complex fighter out there, and its far from the best, but it can still be fun and is also a good game to get someone into fighting games who would normally stay away from them since they always get beaten harshly whenever they attempt to play one against a friend. Unlike the Streetfighter games and SNK fighters, this one is more cartoonish (its based on some anime I believe), it is also different in its attacks. Unlike most fighting games where you have several punch and kick buttons, each character has several attacks totally different from the other characters (one character can throw pots and pans, while another can shoot a gun where you can guide the bullets path for example)

The disc itself has two versions of the game on it, one is Jojos venture, and the other is Jojos Bizarre Adventure. Not much difference between the two except "venture" has a survival mode while "bizarre" has more characters to choose from.

The game overall is not going to blow any hardcore gamers away, but it can be a fun and humorous alternative to more complex fighters.

There are better fighters out there for the same price as this one, so only go for this game if you are a diehard fighting fan and feel the need to have as many as possible or a first time player, otherwise you might feel upset over your purchase if you are used to the likes of Street Fighter and Fatal Fury.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun repetitive game but never loses its touch..
Space Channel 5 is well...Grooooooooovy.Hahah.
The game is pretty much well..Dancing.But the game is solid. You play the game as Ulala, A space reporter, but a very groovy space reporteri a galaxy.Shes got some pretty cool dances and has a grooooovy attitude. You must use your groovy dances and moves to save the planet from an invasion from some sort of aliens called the Morolians. The game is fun.As the other reviewer mention the game does get pretty hard even near the beginning of the game. The game has some really good graphics and some cool colorful retro type enviroment.

Lets get to it...

The graphics in the game are up to par with other hot Dreamcast titles. The graphics were pretty stunning at one point but are still good and not Outdated. But not AMAZING graphics, duhh.I would Have to give the graphics a star for that..

The sound is great. It has a pretty cool soundtrack with cool funky, groovy(yeah thats getting annoying) dance songs and really awesome beats to get to you in the game.

Gameplay is really fun with nothing but DANCE DANCE DANCE.But cool dancing of course..Like I said before this game is funky.And.....groovy.eheh.The gameplay shows off some really cool realistic dance moves that will have you dancing on your mind.HELL MAYBE ON YOUR FEET!Theres alot of cool levels to dance too and some cool hidden levels when you replay the whole game again.

The creators did a great job with this DC title. From great graphics to groovy dance beats to funky levels....and lots of hard repetitive gameplay I give Space Channel five for Dreamcast..

4.0 out 5 stars..

4-0 out of 5 stars Great, but you may need to buy a game shark!!!!
This game is very unique in that you use a sexy female to dance with funny little aliens. This game is a lot of fun, but it can be very hard to achieve the points necessary to go to the next levels.

Therefore you should get a cheap gameshark. There are codes for Infinite Health and for Max Viewer Rating. Those codes allow you to make mistakes, but still move throughout the levels.

As I mentioned that the female star is "sexy". (...)

5-0 out of 5 stars Up down, Up down, shoot-shoot-shoot!
Great game.Ulala is the cutest, sexiest video-game character I've ever seen. However, don't buy this game if you get easily frustrated or you'll end up breaking the CD into little pieces. The controls are difficult to master, and sometimes even if you do it perfectly the computer still says you did it wrong.

And finally, at the end of level 4 when you have to shoot the antenna, you have to HOLD DOWN the last shot.I played level 4 to the end about 8 times before I figured that out, speaking of frustrating.

If you can get past the difficulty, the game is great fun.The music will have you dancing around and the dance moves are spectacular. The voices for Ulala and the other characters fit them perfectly and will make you laugh from time to time.I highly recommend this game for anyone who likes a challenge and doesn't give up easily. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A cute, little RPG.
This game begins where Evolution 1 left off.A funny train scene begins and you're off into the world of Mag Launcher.

The main strength of this game is the characters. All of them are loveable. It's very easy to feel like you're right there with them. They all express emotions very well.Never did they feel like tools to get to the end of the game.

The story is a very simple bad guy vs good guy one.Comments such as "This is no Final Fantasy" are not a very accurate way of decribing this game.Of course this is no FF.What do you expect?Anyways, the story does not go overboard with dark pasts. It's very suitable for children. And While the story itself is somewhat lackluster, the adoreable characters work to keep it from getting too dull.

The gameplay revolves around going into various dungeons, fighting monsters, asending to higher levels, learning new attacks, while progressing through the game.
The dungeons themselves are sometimes quite long.Make sure you have a few hours of time before entering a new one.The good news is there are no random battles.Enemies are clearly visible and you may try and run away from them if you wish.I wish the developers put a little more effort into the scenery(Or lack there of). There is really nothing more to look at than the same ol walls.
The battles are kinda fun for it just being a simple turn based system. There are a lot more skills, magic, techniques, ect to learn than in games such as Grandia 2 or Skies of Arcadia. It makes you want to level up to learn them all.

The only real complaint I have is that this game is far too simple. It could've been a huge sleeper hit if these characters weren't trapped in such a simple world.Everything, but the character designs are simplistic.
I would say that this game is good for anyone who wants an RPG just to fight monsters, learn cool attacks, level up and save the world. If you're looking for a deep storyline and a more complex battle system,go buy Skies of Arcadia or Grandia 2.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fair RPG
Evolution 2 is a fair rpg game for the Sega Dreamcast. It has much difficulty, but pushes you to play more and more. It's a great game for the younger crowd but is also suitable for last minute dreamcast buyers.Though gameplay is fair, magic is awesome with unigue attacks from different characters. In the end, it is a pretty good game, looking at around [amount] for a new game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun!
This review is easily discounted:I am not a huge game player, and this game probably doesn't compare with the likes of Halo or Medal Of Honor.Still...

I am enjoying this game. There is something fun about the characters being plastic army men.It rekindles the fun of playing army as a kid.The weapons are varied, as are the missions. And if you need more challenge, then you can add that with an option.

It's fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars Army Men: Sarge's Heroes
The game is cool it has 16 levels most of wich you have to get someone. The multiplayer is fun but could use some work and it needs more cheats. The graphicsare way inproved from the N64 or the PS1.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good... for a Week
Flag to Flag is an interesting DreamCast racing game based upon the 1998 CART season. It is perhaps ironic that CART's title sponsor in the 1998 season (and thus seen prominently in the game), FedEx, has recently announced (as of the writing of this review) that it will no longer be the title sponsor as of the 2003 CART season... and after this past weekend's fiasco at Surfer's Paradise in Australia, I can certainly understand why :-(

The main note that may scare away potential Flag to Flag players is that car control is available ONLY by using the analog stick above the D-pad >:-( This makes car control for aggressive drivers (such as myself) extremely difficult at best, especially on road courses (such as Road America or Burke Lakefront) or street courses (such as Toronto or Detroit). This issue is not quite as glaring when racing at the oval-style circuits (such as Miami homestead). Therefore, those unfamiliar with analog-stick driving who do not have a good amount of time to spend perfecting this driving skill should probably stay away from Flag to Flag. This game does fortunately support a racing wheel; I do not own one, but I suspect that car control will be MUCH easier for players using a racing wheel.

Flag to Flag contains only two race modes: Arcade and Championship. This means, unfortunately, that only the most diehard of CART racing fans will be keeping this game for any immense length of time. There are no unlockable items, no bonuses to be gained, no goals to attain (other than simply winning races), so it may be best to just borrow this game from a friend, or from a store which permits games to be returned simply for not liking them.

For those who simply want to start racing, this is the place to begin.Arcade Mode races are rather short, however - generally only three or four laps in length - so those looking for longer races should instead turn to Championship Mode (see below).Arcade Mode supports both single-player and two-player capabilities.Since these races are rather short, the player(s) will have very little time to try to maneuver up through the field, which makes the analog-stick car control issue mentioned above all the more crucial to success.Interestingly, players are always kept appraised of the driver of the next car ahead on the circuit (regardless of whether there is a difference in consecutive position and/or laps completed), which will help in learning to recognize which drivers are in which cars (by colors, logos, etc.).

Championship Mode is a single-player mode with the goal of winning the CART Drivers Championship for the 1998 season using all of the nineteen 1998 race venues in the actual calendar order. The Drivers Championship is won by having the most points at the end of the nineteen rounds of the season; at each race, the top twelve drivers receive from 1 to 21 points, with the other fifteen entrants not receiving any points.Obviously, consistency across all nineteen rounds of the (1998) CART season is key to winning the Drivers Championship.Fortunately, there are three difficulty levels for Championship Mode; selecting Easy at the beginning of the Championship Mode season will give the player a far better chance of attaining consistency (and wins) throughout the season. It is important to note that Championship Mode is the only mode in the game which permits car set-up customization.

Overall, Flag to Flag is an interesting game... but only for a while. In less than a week, all but a very few diehard CART fans will likely tire of this game and move on to other games. One must keep this in mind when considering buying Flag to Flag.

3-0 out of 5 stars AI is absolutely horrible
Don't get mewrong. It's a fun game, but the AI is just the worst ever. Each time you play, you can expect all the cars to do pretty much the same thing every time.I think this was a fairly early title, which does explain things. But go with something better like Daytona.

5-0 out of 5 stars CART racing at its best!
I first played this game on my demo cd that came with my Dreamcast. The controls took about a few laps to get proficient with, but afterwards, hurdling through turns at crazy speeds becomes almost second nature. I can't get enough of this game! Basically, this game has two modes: Career & Arcade.

Unlike most other games I've played, this one I can play alone for hours without getting bored. I usually tire of playing single player mode with most games, and only play them with friends. This is Flag to Flag's strength. I can play an entire season and still come back for more. There are a lot of different tracks. From city streets to ovals to airport runways.

I started this game on Easy mode, then eventually switched to the medium difficulty, and now play at the hardest level. Also, the AI for the other racers is excellent.

Before the race, you can adjust almost every feature with the cars. From the tire types, to aerodynamics, to the gear ratio. This is one the most detailed racing game I've ever played.

Worth buying for sure! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars 18 Wheeler = A great game to play
18 Wheeler is a very fun game. It puts you in the mine as a real pro driver. You get to drive all over states. But the only problem with this game its too short. You'll get to earned money. You can get caught up with storms, crash into other trucks and cars. Most of all I think they made this game so that people will have a wonderful time. Play it with 2 players and really have a time with your life. Well enjoy your trip to Cally in a Cadillac.

3-0 out of 5 stars truck man
I love trucks so I thought it was a great game, but I was pretty dissapointed when I beat the game in less than an hour for the first time.I have played the game through many times, but now I'm sick of it.NOW! dont make the same mistake I made, I looked at the game on the internet and the graphics were outstanding, or so I thought, in fact I bought my dreamcast for this game, right when it came out. Rent the game for a couple of nights and I can asure you you'll have mastered this game and be very sick of it in a couple nights.I spent [$$$] on this game and its not worth it, but don't get me wrong this game is still very fun, maybe only at first

4-0 out of 5 stars Good fun, for about half an hour anyway...
18 Wheeler was a good game in the arcade, and now you don't have to blow a dollar a pop to play it.The Dreamcast version is everything the arcade version is, crisp clean graphics, smooth controls, and great gameplay make this one of the last good Dreamcast games, think of it as Crazy Taxi with a big truck.Only problem is, and its a major problem at that, is this game is real short, and there are no extras, something Sega should have incorporated for their home conversion.Other than that, this is a good DC pickup. ... It was just too fun it has a whole bunch of characters. Its so fun it almost left me speechless and I talk too much so you know that game is too fun.It got Micheal Jackon(king of pop)and Shaq(1999 mvp all star player)so you know you can't get bored of this game. Don't believe people who saids "its lame" beause you know what their too lame for this tight game hey its almost too good for me.

1-0 out of 5 stars Boxing minus fun and origionality
This game is tedious and boring. You use the same dumb tricks to beat different characters in lame looking arenas.

Avoid Ready 2 Rumble 2. I love sport games but this just sucked.

Why do I have to give it a star....c'mon Amazon put a minus feature in place for game like this

2-0 out of 5 stars Boring and tedious
The graphics are very good and the game is fun to play for a couple of matches, but after that it gets really boring. It's just the same old button mashing every round, and not that that's necessarily a bad thing but with this game it gets so dull. Also, the game designers tried too hard to make the characters very "wacky" and the result is that most of the characters and humor in this game is just plain stupid (but not even in a funny way). In closing, I'll say this game is overrated, and I don't understand how people can find it so fun. It's worth a rental, but little else. I played my copy only twice before reselling it. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD
Indeed, this game looks like it was put together by a bunch of first graders.Every function of the game-gameplay, sound, graphics-are laughable.Anyone in their right mind would take this godforsaken joke ofa game back within hours after their purchase. Thus garbage makes some old8-bit NES game look magnificent by comparison; this will make you wonder ifAcclaim Sports is just trying to get some laughs out of it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Avoid at all costs
This game has nice graphics and sound. Unfortunately, the gameplay is so horrible, I cannot believe this game was play-tested before its release.

The controls are more complicated than necessary. For example, threeseparate buttons must be pressed to complete a pass, one to fade back, another to select a receiver, and finally another to catch the ball. Youhave very little time to do this even at the easiest level. Even if youkeep backs in to block, you rarely have more than 2 seconds to complete apass. Even bad rushing teams can sack the QB 10 times per game playing 5minute quarters. This is not realistic, which is consistent with the restof the game.

Passing is also blind, since your perspective is from behindthe QB, you rarely see the receivers and have no idea what the coverage is.Your completion success has little to do with these factors, which arecritical in the real game. It's easy to complete passes once you get theknack of pushing the right buttons quickly, but there is little sense ofaccomplishment when your success or throwing has nothing to do withthrowing to the open receiver or exploiting a weakness in the defense.

Infact, the type of defense called seems to have no effect on the outcome ofa given offensive play. You can stack the line against the run, completelyplug the hole, and the computer running back will stay on his feet for 10seconds, then break into the secondary for a long TD. This can happen withmediocre backs and excellent defenses. Conversely, the computer willroutinely complete long passes into triple coverage and score longtouchdown passes against a prevent defense.

Despite the difficult andnon-responsive controls, once you get the hang of passing, you'll throw oneTD pass after another. Interceptions are few and far between. Ridiculouslyhigh scores are common even when playing 5 minute quarters.

I tried toplay a season with my favorite team, and gave up after two games becausethe gameplay was so unrealistic and irritating.

Another annoying featureis if you want to switch players, you can only do so for one play at atime. Playing the Rams, I wanted to use Kurt Warner instead of Terry Green. The game allows you to switch them by formation, so if you haven't decidedon a formation, it won't work if you happen to choose a differentformation. After the play is completed, the game reverts to the defaultplayer setting. Extremely annoying.

I gave it 1 star because that was thelowest rating possible. It deserves 0 stars. Sega's NFL2K is far farbetter.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible, THE WORST DREAMCAST GAME YET
See Jack Buy-See Jack Play-See Jack cry Ok first i gave it a one because there was nothing lower. This game tried to challenge NFL 2K and didn't even get as good as Super Nes Football. Before this game i never thought afootball game could stink so much. Linemen running as fast as DeionSanders. I rented it and returned it 5 minutes later. FOR THE SAKE OF YOURJOY DON'T BUY THIS GAME OR ACCEPT IT AS A GIFT! ... Read more
