2-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful graphics, boring game
Style over substance. Lots of pretty eye-candy, very dull gameplay. I was really looking forward to this game but what a disappointment it is. You fly around (cockpit view) blasting enemy ships with some very cool weapons, but within 10 minutes you'll want to play something else.

1-0 out of 5 stars It's not a videogame, just a graphics demo.
This has the distinction of being the one and only game out of dozens I've bought this year to be traded the very next day after I bought it.

Very simply, this is a fairly impressive-looking PC-based graphics demo in which you simply fly around, auto-targeting and killing enemy ships with minimal skill. That's it.There is a badly read mission background before starting, which uses the in-game graphics to show the ships you'll momentarily defeat.

The graphics are in general nice as stated, but even this gloss disappears quickly. For instance, it becomes quickly evident that the background which dominates your view appears to be a 256-color bitmap, with easily discernible banding.

This game represents everything that can go wrong with emphasizing graphics over gameplay.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good graphics hard game
i liked the graphics of this game but the game itself is harder than life. i found the controls to be quite disturbing and hard to manuver in. it get's really annoying when you almost beat the level and die and have to restart the whole thing over again. i couldn't even beat the 2nd level!!! the game does have it's good points. it is fun w/ gameshark and the graphics are beyond this world, but the difficulty and controls are bad. ... 102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue is a 3-D adventure in which you play as either Oddball or Domino and rescue puppies from Cruella De Vil. Other characters from Disney's 102 Dalmatians movie include Dipstick, Dottie, LePelt, Waddlesworth, and Fluffy. There are 20 levels and six minigames that are set in environments like Big Ben, Regent's Park, Piccadilly Circus, the Ice Festival, and De Vil Manor. Players will solve puzzles, perform tricks, and lure Cruella's henchmen--Horace and Jasper--into secret traps. The game stars Frankie Muniz as the voice of Domino. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this computer game
I Have this computer game of 102 Dalmations Puppies to the rescue, and I've won all the levels, and beat Cruella De Vil and saved all the puppies. It was so much fun playing all the levels,,, I would always save the level each time I won ,them. This game is truely the best ive ever owned. Please buy it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for kids as young as 4....or as old as 40!
102 Dalmations is a good game.My 3 1/2 year old daughter ("I'm almost 4 Dad", she says) picked up the game in about an hour and was able to complete the 1st level in about 3 days, and this is her 1st Sega game. I mention this -- not to tout my daughter's gaming skills -- but to provide advice to other parents with children of similiar ages ( I think the product literature recommends it for kids of ages 6 and up).

Now that I'm mentioning ages, my wife (age 38) also loves the game, and she's downstairs playing the game now that the kids are asleep. So there is some substance here for older players as well.

The game's theme is to rescue dalmation puppies from Crella DeVille. You move the puppy with either the joystick or rocker-switch over about a dozen scenes rescuing trapped puppies. You can switch between 2 puppies, but there is no real difference between the puppies. The puppy can also dig, jump, bark, and sniff, which help it complete it's task.

As you finish levels, additional "mini-games" become available -- mini-golf, etc -- and stickers become available for printing.

The levels come in groups of 4 it seems. On one of the levels in each group the puppy has an opponent that must be avoided. And every 4 levels there is a special "Cruella" game.

So the game is simple and appealing enough for kids from 4 to 40....thus the 5 stars.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice game, but fairly easy to beat
My 6 and 8 year old daughters liked this game.Unfortunately, they also beat the entire main game in about 10-15 hours of playing time.Graphics are good and play level is good for younger kids. They enjoy the mini-games as well.

Probably a good buy if your kids are into Disney. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars ESPN DISAPPOINTMENT BASKETBALL.
THIS WILL BE SHORT THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS GAME WAS ESPN ANNOUNCER STEWART SCOTT.THAT ALL.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
Man, I luv this game, this and QB Club are my favorite.

1-0 out of 5 stars WARNING READ THIS REVIEW!
This is a horrible basketball game, the graphics aren't something to be proud of nor something to puke at, but this is just horrible. Almost every aspect of it I hate. The person who said this was FANTASTIC! has obviously never played any other basketball games or knows alot about video games. This is one of the slowest basketball games I have ever played, and he said it was fast! Is that person serious or anyone else who agrees with his review! Shooting in this game is out of control as in, when you are shooting the ball the player isn't facing the basket, then a few second into the air his body turns and releases the ball, it seems as if your having a seizure in the air and snap out of it when your releasing the ball. It is extremely easy to get the ball stolen and the crossovers are weak. You have to be very careful when passing the ball because if the defender is anywhere near it he will steal it. This overall is the worst basketball game I have ever played in my entire life. If you want a good basketball game get NBA2K1 or NBA2K2, they are much much better, and if you are going to buy this game don't expect anything from it, nothing at all! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars FUR FIGHTERS:THE REAL SCOOP
this game is pure genious. it is totally fun.the characters are so unique, so i am sure there will be a character that everyone likes. for example, my favorite character is bungalow, the kangaroo. he's stupid and funny, and he might be the one you like too. the graphics in this game are really cool! they are also very colorful.i am currently up to saving claude, which is where you need a degree in astrophysics to enter the level itself. i have explored everything i could in all that i have played. I only found 1 glitch, which is in the SS meer. Near where the temp. thingy is. I got stuck under one of the lights of the door with not enough power to open. I had to kill myself using bombs and rockets.the controls of thegame are not as cool though. they are harder to learn than many other games. but, once you get the hang of it, they're easy. the conceptof the game is very creative and funny, though. Plus the characters have special powers, so in different situations you need different characters, which can be found throughout whatever level you are in. they are in green circles, with the face of the character on them. this is cool because that way you don't use the same character again and again. eventually, you switch a lot more as the game goes on.this game is SO worth it, if you like:
comedy
action
suspense
shooting and violence

3-0 out of 5 stars Couldn't get pass the controls
I thought the graphics of the characters were kind of weird at first. But I ignored it and tried to get into the game.

I didn't get very far before feeling like the controls were impossible to get down. For instance, there is this stage where you hit these bags of flour. Some are raised above the floor, while other sit on the floor.Trying to jump and hit the bags was difficult. There didn't seem to be a rhythm with which to jump and punch.running, jumping and punching was even more difficult.Sometimes I got it, most times I didn't.I put the game down after an hour of that (c'mon, how hard should it really be just to jump and punch a bag?).

Seeing the high ratings of others puts the idea of playing back in my head.Perhaps, I'll get back to it.

I gave it three stars because of the aforementioned reasons but the game did show some promise.Maybe I just stink at video games in my old age. =)

4-0 out of 5 stars Great game
I have to say that fur fighters is one of the best games I have seen for dreamcast. It will certainly keep you going for a long time. The only reason that hinders me from giving five stars is that of the games' difficulty. It is fun, but the puzzles can be mildly frusterating at times. I highly recomend buying it however. ... Sega's Virtua Striker was supposed to be the Dreamcast'sfirst great soccer game, but as it turns out, Striker Pro 2000outplays the opposition with lively on-field action and a wealth ofoptions to boot.

Striker Pro will wow soccer fans with 130 teams from the bestEuropean leagues as well as from all over the world. There are threelevels of competition from national to international cup play, whichcan be unlocked once players prove in their worth in training mode.

Striker Pro scores early with its options, letting playersadjust weather conditions, injury time, and penalty settings as well astoggle between the analog and digital control pads. Speed anddifficulty can also be bumped up to taste. On the field, teams play up,back, or somewhere in the middle, with the score often determining ateam's formation. Animations and graphics are Dreamcast quality, andthe control is intuitive. In fact, we'll go so far as to say thatStriker Pro 2000 is the most perfect soccer video game thatwe've played thus far. --Robb Guido

Pros:

  • 130 teams and three different cup modes
  • Flawless control and a helpful training mode
Cons:

1-0 out of 5 stars Why torture yourself
Someone below wrote that it dosen't get better...but it does UEFA Dream Soccer is WAY better and is a Dreamcast soccer game worth a purchase

5-0 out of 5 stars It can't get better than this.
Striker Pro 2000 is the best soccer game other than Fifa 2002 on Gamecube. Too bad the players aren't real players, though. But you get a whole bunch of international and European club teams. Practiceand training is pretty boring. Passing, kicking, slides, chest traps, and even bicycle kicks are all realistic. You can play in the snow or rain, day or night. Being a goalie is fun once you save and catch the ball. But be careful not to score for yur opponents. The gameplay is very realistic and so is everything else. So, buy it and enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars A great soccer game for the Dreamcast
Ever since my purchase of the Sega Dreamcast I was hoping that Sega Sports would make World Cup Soccer 2K2 or something like that in there great sports series, but they did not make one and I was very disappointed. But then I came across Striker Pro 2000. The game sounded great, had amazing graphics and cost only 15 dollars!

Once I got the game I was amazed by the realistic gameplay, graphics and the little things that make soccer so much fun. When you first get this game there are about 25 or so European teams you can choose from including Manchester, Muchen, Monaco and many others. There are also 72 international teams including Brazil, USA, Germany, France, and Argentina that you have to ulock by completing all of five of the challenging practice stages. You can also create up to eight teams and create players to up-date the teams.

There are a few things that are flawed in this game. The announcers are good but their intro to the game is always the same and they aren't very interesting. Also the goalies are very dumb and you can easily score 3 or 4 goals each game.

Overall this is by far the best soccer game on the Dreamcast. I highly recommend this game for soccer fans around the world. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars same old when will street fighter enter a 3d realm?
This game is pretty kool but its the same thing as every other street fighter. It is better then the original arcade version.
When will capcom decide to make relism graphics and 3d?

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good
Calling Street Fighter III the third game in the Street Fighter series is just plain silly. Let's face it. Between all the Alpha games, all the vs. games, and all the "upgrades" to Street Fighter II, we've seen more games in the past decade bearing the name Street Fighter than we've probably needed to see. The journey to game number three has been on a long hard road. Every time anyone hinted at the possibility of an SF3, it always turned out to be another offshoot of the Street Fighter line. Well, Capcom has finally graced the world with its "third" Street Fighter, as well as two upgrades to the game, Second Impact and Third Strike. The arcade releases of the Street Fighter III games have been met with mixed reactions. Many people were disappointed that only Ryu and Ken made it to the third game (though Akuma was added in Second Impact, and Chun-Li is in Third Strike), and the new characters just didn't seem as interesting as Guile, Dhalsim, and the rest of the SF2 gang. Others couldn't get over the slow game speed - after years of playing games like Super SF2 Turbo and Street Fighter Alpha, many players felt that going back to such a slow speed made the game seem like it was stuck in the mud. The game did add a parry maneuver that, when mastered, really changed the face of the game. Parrying an attack caused the attacker to seize up for a brief moment, leaving plenty of room for a counterattack. But even with this bit of innovation, many people stayed away from the game entirely or simply didn't feel like learning the styles of the new characters. As a result, Street Fighter III Double Impact, which contains both the original Street Fighter 3 and the Second Impact upgrade, may find a larger audience on the Dreamcast. Street Fighter III eschews the more cartoony art style - found in, say, the Alpha series - and strives for a slightly more realistic look. Since the arcade game ran on Capcom's CPS3 hardware (all the other recent Street Fighter games have run on the older CPS2 system), there are many more frames of animation to be seen. Elena is, of course, the best example of this, as she is constantly moving around in all of her stances. Unfortunately, Elena's fluid animation makes the rest of the characters seem a little stiff by comparison. All in all, the game appears to be an excellent port of the arcade version, with absolutely no waiting for things to load between rounds or fights. The arcade version's sound has also been well duplicated. Controlwise, the game plays as you would expect a 2D Capcom fighter to play. So you may not want to use the default Dreamcast controller with the game, as the L and R buttons are definitely less than optimal. There are a couple different controller choices on the market, our favorites being Agetec's joystick and the ASCII Fighter Pad FT, which is only available in Japan. Both of these controllers make playing Street Fighter III a much better, and in the case of the joystick, truer-to-the-arcade experience. While including both the original SF3 and Second Impact is a nice touch, Second Impact is a much more refined game, and you won't really be going back to the original game very much at all. Also, it would have been nice to see this package include Third Strike and become a trilogy of sorts, rather than release Third Strike on its own. There is definitely a lot to Street Fighter III. If you're one of the people who has shunned the game since its release in the arcade, you may want to give this collection a chance. Since you won't be paying per play to learn the game's new characters, it's easier to just jump into the game and start messing around. You just may be surprised. However, you may just want to wait for Third Strike, which is currently available in Japan and is releasing here later this year.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just Awesome
I reviewed this game below and gave it 4 stars. My only gripe was the contrast in res between the background and the sprites.Well i later found out that a vga box enlarges those poor sprites up to 640x480 res, which they are not meant for.The result is blocky sprites. But not on composite video (tv).So I got myself an RF adapter and when I played it on tv, even s-video, it was wonderful.Really cool arcade translation.Thank you capcom! 3-0 out of 5 stars Half decent at best
Anyone who remembers the original series of Namco Museum compilations that first came out for the PS1 years ago remembers one of the best parts was the Museum feature itself in full 3-D where you ran around as Pac-Man selecting what game you wanted to play. All the DC version has is a select menu.Thats it.You'd figure with the space left over on the disc itself that Namco would port over a few other retro games, but no.Not to mention the emulator used to port the games was very poor, and the sound is god awful (much like with the compilation Sega Smash Pack also for the DC) and your only option will be to mute the volume. All in all, if you loved playing these old games and still have a DC this is worth a look, but others should run in the opposite direction.

Bust-A-Move 4 proves that Dreamcast games don't necessarily needflashy graphics to be fun. This puzzle game has been around in one form oranother for years, and still offers enough charm and gameplay to deserve a spoton the shelf of any fan of the genre. This incarnation adds a mixed bag of newfeatures and enough play modes to keep you busy for a few weeks.

Gameplay is simple. The play area contains balls of various colors, and playerscontrol a cannon at the bottom of the screen that shoots one colored ball at atime. The cannon is immobile, but can be aimed left or right, and launched ballsstick to those that are already on the playing field. If three or more balls ofthe same color are touching, they are cleared from the board. These simple rulesoffer more strategic possibilities than you'd think, and the fact that perfectaim is required to place the cannon shots where they're needed adds to thefrantic action that ensues each time a game is started.

Bust-A-Move 4 incorporates a new combo system that makes spectacularboard-clearing shots possible, but also decreases the difficulty of the gamesignificantly because the combos happen far too often. The game is still fun intwo-player mode, but the developers oddly left out the superior four-playerabilities for which this game is famous. Still, with hundreds of puzzles tosolve, arcade-perfect graphics (which isn't saying much), and a decenttwo-player mode, Bust-A-Move 4 serves up plenty of entertainment value.--T. Byrl Baker

  • Crisp, clear graphics
  • Hundreds of puzzles to play through
Cons:
  • No four-player mode
  • New supercombos are lame

5-0 out of 5 stars Lovely and fun puzzle game
With its several variations, and its charming Pokemon-like creatures, this puzzle game will bring hours and hours of entertainment. Think of it as an upside-down Tetris, but with many more ingredients to it: you have to burst bubbles above you by shooting more bubbles of the same color, until you reach three bubbles of the same color side-by-side. If you're good enough, you can rip out entire blocks of bubbles with a few moves. It's already very fun to play solo, but even more fun to bring in friends and do a two-player challenge. I have to say this game and Bomber Man are starting to make me a bit of an addict to puzzle games.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent puzzle game, rivals Tetris
Being a huge puzzle game fan, I remember spending quarter after quarter on this game during my college days. Imagine my surprise when I found this available for the Dreamcast at a price that's a fraction of what I've spent at the arcade! If you're a puzzle game fan, you'll love this. The underlying concept of the game is as simple as the classic Tetris game, with different levels and types of gameplay that allow for varying degrees of challenge. One new feature that's different from the arcade version is the introduction of pulleys in the "puzzle" modes, which operate under a combination of the laws of physics, and color clustering.I found the head-to-head player vs computer gameplay hilarious, being somewhat modeled after the Mortal Combat-type games, which rewards numerous wins with new characters in the game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bust or Move
This game was alot of fun to play, but you might get too addicted to it. It shows that the most simple games made are the most fun, like tetris, dr. mario, pacman, and this game. ... Read more

Sega has had great success with its previous sports titles for theDreamcast, so everyone was waiting for them to hit one out of the park with therelease of World Series Baseball 2K1. In many ways they have, but thegame suffers from enough bugs and has so few options that true baseball fanswill be crying foul.

Stadiums and players are rendered in glorious high-resolution detail, to thepoint where it's easy to recognize a player by looking at his face. Similarly, most of the animations look terrific--especially diving catches and quickacross-the-body throws. We also enjoyed the pitching and batting interface, which is more complex than that found in most baseball games but becomes a lotof fun after a little practice.

Unfortunately, the game is all downhill from there. Once a ball is hit, playersare forced to sit and watch the computer field it. The lack of control isabsolutely infuriating, especially since Sega hyped this game's realism from thebeginning of its development. The crowd sounds are anemic and there is no colorcommentary, which is just as well considering how terrible the play-by-playannouncer is. If you really love baseball, you'll really hate World SeriesBaseball 2K1. For casual fans who prefer flashy graphics and a funpitching/batting contest to thorough stat tracking and the ability to field theball, this game is a home run. --T. Byrl Baker

Pros:

  • Gorgeous stadiums
  • Nice TV-like presentation
Cons:
  • No fielding
  • Stuttering animations

5-0 out of 5 stars It was great if the maker think about the game deeply.
Recently, I am a very deep fan of MLB though I am Japanese. It is for that I have many opportunities that I can watch MLB games on Japan TV because Japanese top baseball player went to MLB. Obviousely, MLB playing style is very wonderful. Mainly the batting is power vs power. The batting form and the flying figure of hit homerun ball is splendid. For instance, B.Bond,A Rod and G.Jiamby is so.

When I played this game at first time, that is, for a few weeks, I was very bore for the game. As wrriten in this game review, when we set in our defense play, the movement almost rely on the computer, and we can not reflect our thinking. After that for a few months, I put the game to my book shelf. As I got to be a hot MLB fan day by day, I remembered about the game of the shelf, and played that again.

Unexpectedly, I enjoyed the game more than the first time. That will be because I got many knowledge about MLB. I knew that there were some players who had many unique batting forms. In the same time, in the game I knew what is expressed many unique batting forms too, for instance G.shephield sharp batting form, N.Garusiapara's nervouse glove touch is so. I think that the maker put the deep consciousness to the detailed graphics of players. Off course for the native american fans as you, such things may be natural, but for foreigner fans that is sufficient thing.

Though the defensive is a little bore certainly, the batting play is fun. We can reflect our thinking for the play to some extent, therefore the more we improve our batting technique, as the batting player will react to our wish. I hit 25 homeruns a game by using all star custom setting.

Thank you for reading my poor English.

1-0 out of 5 stars What was Sega thinking?
I wish that I used to review games as a job because the only way I can play World Series Baseball 2K1 is if I were paid to do it!!

2-0 out of 5 stars What the?
This game to start out, looks great!Aside from looking great it may possibly rival early Nintendo versions for the worst MLB game ever made.First, you are introduced to the pitchers. They give you a small detail about the pitcher but no season statistics, so you do not know what you are up against.Secondly, to bat, you release the right trigger to swing. You are forced to use the analog thumb pad also.

At the end of the game, it tells you the winner, the loser, if there was a save & the homeruns.NO BOXSCORE!!!???I don't know about the majority but I like to base my players starting status on two things.1. Reality (the correct rosters) 2. Game to game statistics. If a player is slacking you have no way of knowing. You can't check in the middle of the game to see what the player is batting on the game. And if you want to change pitchers, you must also call it blind, as they provide no information as to what your players' ERAs might be.Usually games will tell you when a player steps up to bat, how they have faired in that particular game, along with season stats. Here they only provide season stats.I would like a 1-1 today, 2 for 3, etc.

This game is not fun.I gave it 2 stars because it looks good.Don't bother buying this game.It will only frustrate you, unless you care nothing for real game play. ... Read more

Re-Volt is a remote-control car "simulator" that combinesa convincing physics model with arcade elements to create one of thebetter racing games for the Dreamcast.

Control with the analog pad is a little touchy, so we usually ended upsteering with the digital pad. Re-Volt takes full advantage ofthe Dreamcast's analog triggers, allowing for fine control over forwardand reverse speeds. The cars react to the tracks just like theirreal-life remote control counterparts do: flipping off curbs, absorbingsuspension-jarring jumps, and bouncing off competing cars. The tracksare also realistic, letting players race through grocery stores, museums, neighborhoods, and the like. Acclaim even threw in a trackeditor so intrepid racers can design their own courses.

Don't think that you can outrace the competition by simply droningaround the track. Winning requires a combination of driving skill and amastery of the game's myriad weapons, including oil slicks, bombs, bottle rockets, and water balloons. The weapon effects do much toenhance the game's graphical appeal, which is immense to begin with.--T. Byrl Baker

Pros:

  • Realistic physics
  • Slick graphics
  • Track editor
Cons:
  • Controls are hard to get used to

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have for Dreamcast
This is a really great game. Being involved in real RC only makes it even more fun. Some of the cars are a bit strange (Panga, which is a panda bear on wheels) but all handle very close to real life RC cars. It's not too hard of a game once you get a feel for the cars and tracks, but it always has a good amount of challenge to it. The only minor problem I have with the game is with the menus. The only way to exit a race in progress (other than championship) is to return all the way to the title screen. Other than that I think this game is one of the best racers for DC.

5-0 out of 5 stars Re-Volting
Great little game, very addicting.
It's revolting that it's out of stock!

5-0 out of 5 stars RC-Pro Am meets Mario Kart!!!
I can pretty much say that this is one of the best racing games that I've played in a long time. I don't even know where to start, but I'll try.
When I put Re-Volt in my Dreamcast, I wasn't REALLY sure of what to expect. For one, I was not expecting the great music! It was like stepping into a club! This upbeat music kept my head in the game for hours at a time.
Then, when I actually started the game, I noticed that there were many options and MANY RC cars to unlock. You can race in tournaments, single races, and you can even take your car onto a stunt track.
The actual tracks are very original; from racing in a supermarket, to rooftops and through peoples' homes! not only are the tracks very original and lots of fun, but the graphics are very detailed and smooth. RV is definitely not lacking in that department.
The actual control is very good as well. It's about as close as you're going to get to real RC racing without buying one. you have to take into account the actual physics of an environment before you go Super Dave-ing it through puddles of oil, or taking a top-heavy RC around a sharp turn.
Weapons...no truly FUN racing game should be without them. RV has them. Cool items like battery packs to temporarily increase your speed to funny weapons like water balloons (especially when you toss one at a friend and make fun of'em for the rest of the day), and HUGE ball bearings. Oh yeah, this game is great.
If you purchase this game (which you really should), be prepared for a lot of "unlocking secrets" and very little down time. The only downside to RV is the fact that if you do get 3 other people to play with you, that it gets a little confusing because there's a four-way screen split and there's so much happening on the screen. Other than that, I can honestly say that this game was an excellent buy! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Dreamcast Fan
I bought this game for my 6 year old son. But it is really a game for all ages. Once you start you can't stop.

1-0 out of 5 stars Gamer and parent of a budding gamer
Like many Dreamcast ownwers probably are doing, I have been trolling for games to get cheap ones for my dead system.I have found many that both me and my 4 year old son love to play. This was not one.I was excited about this one, as my son loves Toy Story and Buzz Lightyear. After less than half an hour we both decided that this game was way too hard.

The 3-D perspective was poorly handled by the game engine. It is virtually impossible to walk a straight line regardless of the camera style you pick. Just about every jump has to be this ridiculous double wing jump.Precise moves are crucial to complete the tedious missions that even level 1 presented, and as an adult veteran of Tombraider and Spiderman, the controls for this game just made me mad. You spend all your time trying get the right position and failing to land in the right spot. How they could make a game obviously targeted a younger gamers so bloody hard to navigate is a mystery.

Envision your child controlling Buzz on a ceiling beam, trying desparately to make him walk a simple straight line, and slumping in frustration when he falls for the umpteenth time. My son loved Spiderman on the Dreamcast, and I was trying to find something similar but less mature. Toy Story 2 was horrible by comparison.Never bought a more frustrating Dreamcast game )except for maybe Qbert). Very disapointing.DO NOT BUY THIS GAME even for 5 bucks.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good game but not for all ages.
Toy Story 2 is a good game with very good graphics.
It's almost like playing the movie that's how good it looks.
But be warned this game is for kids between (ages of 3 and 8). It's a bit difficult at first but once your kid plays it more then once, they'll get the hang of it and have fun.
If you are looking for a kiddie game than this is the game for you. ... Read more

This is the worst FISHING game I ran into-& I have all 4 fishing games-The best one to this DAY is SEGA MARINA FISHING

3-0 out of 5 stars Better than you think and worth [...]
I'm not going to call this game a must buy but for the price its a pretty entertaining game. If you like catching fish in bunches this is not the game for you. This game is definitely a "simulation" game and is pretty difficult. Natsume should be credited for releasing this game given all the games being cancelled for Dreamcast. The scenary is quite stunning, although the underwater views are lacking. The fish are modeled very well. A total of 14 fishing holes can be attained but it will take you awhile. As I said, this is no arcade game. You will need patience, skill and some luck, just like the real thing. The lures look realistic in the underwater view and perform correctly. The sound is pretty tranquil but I'd turn off the music and stick with the nature sounds. I'm not sure there is much advantage using the fishing controller over the normal DC controller. I have the Sega fishing controller. Some reviews I have read state that is the only one that works properly with the game and that other fishing controller don't. In closing, I think this game is a good value. If you like a true fishing experince this game will fill that need. If you want to catch a fish on every cast you may want to skip this one.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not to reel.
If you have ever played reel fishing on the PSX. This game is just a suped up version of that with new fishing areas. Not a very exciting game. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars It's only THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sure, the game is simple and there may be no two player mode but let me tell you, THIS GAME IS FUN BABY!

Gameplay: Simple controlling Press X to drill and use the D-pad to move....thats all. *****

Freedom: There's not that much freedom in this game at all, but there are many modes of play to make up for that. ***

Modes: There are many modes of play like: Arcade, time attack and survival and more! *****

Music: The music of this game is pretty good, The are good tunes that remind you of the days when gaming was non violant and fun. *****

Graphics: Not the best of looks they're preetty damb good! Rich and colorful! It really makes the what it is! *****

Overall: Simple, packed full of modes, full of pretty tunes and good colorful graphics is what this game is. Very addictive too! A must have for most people for don't mind a break from action and violance for a bit of action-filled puzzles.

My Rating: 10/10

5-0 out of 5 stars This game is very addictive, from the moment you first play.
The first time I popped this game into my Dreamcast, I thought it was just OK.

My wife, who hates video games (but was a huge fan of Dig Dug and Tetris), watched me play one round and said "let me try that." Three games later, *I* finally got the controller back ;-), and after I dialed down the difficulty settings for us newbies, we were *both* hooked.

The game is simple (watching someone play one round is all you need to do to learn how to play the game), yet it is somehow not tedious.

The only downside is that it is a one-player game only -- you can't play head-to-head.

4-0 out of 5 stars The best puzzler for the Dreamcast
I was pleasantly surprised by Mr.Driller. It's got simple but addictive gameplay which is key to a puzzle game. The graphics aren't much and the music is pretty weak, but it's still a solid, and affordable, puzzler. ... Read more

Fans of the old arcade hit Smash TV will most likely enjoy Expendable. The rest of us may want to look elsewhere. While the game boasts impressive graphics and really shows off the lighting and color abilities of the Dreamcast, repetitive single-player gameplay quickly leads to boredom.

You control an expendable clone soldier from a third-person perspective. The game is divided into missions, each mission having roughly the same goal: blow everything up and run to the end as fast as possible. Along the way, you fight hordes of mindless aliens, rescue hostages, and play with your choice of 18 powerful weapons. If you have an additional controller, a friend can join in the mayhem. The game saves your progress with the optional Visual Memory Unit and also makes use of the optional Jump Pack, which vibrates to indicate hits and explosions. While Expendable won't win any awards for creativity, depth, or longevity, sometimes you just want to team up with a buddy and kick alien butt. For those times, Expendable does just fine. --Michael Fehlauer

2-0 out of 5 stars Not worth it, at any price...
The first thing that I noticed about this game was that certain areas are really dark and you cannot really see what is going on. I think that they did this to make some of the awsome lighting effects for the explosions and stuff stand out but I just found the darkness annoying. The "Kiss - Psycho Circus" game for Dreamcast had this same problem with darkness.

The next thing that I noticed was that the controls really sucked badly. Your biggest enemy in this game is the control pad. You have to constantly "straff" in order to kill all the enemys withoy getting yourself killed but straffing in this game is very difficult and awkward. I love co op shootemups like Contra and Ikari Warriors. This game does not even compare to those games. This game is very poor. I threw my copy in the garbage.

2-0 out of 5 stars How expendable is Expendable? Very.
Expendable is a shooter-type game in which you, a muscular commando-type guy (with a big gun that shoots out energy pellets) must attack and defeat the opposing forces of aliens and their robots. It sounds just like a run-of-the-mill shooter, except for one thing - IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, even in the first levels.

Gameplay: 7/10

The game play is actually pretty well-done. You can collect special weapons other than your bazooka-type gun, and some of them help you out a whole lot, considering that there are sometimes SWARMS of enemies. But after the ammo (very few shells) run out (which wouldn't take 2-3 minutes), if you're still stuck with a swarm of enemies, you're dead.

Also, the whole game is extremely difficult (except for maybe the later levels, but that could be your skill improving). Finding this shooter-like game under my computer desk, I thought to give it a try, and, well, I nearly gave up during the middle of the first level.

Controls: 6/10

There are two forms of controls in Expendable - keyboard and using the joystick. On the keyboard, controls are simple - movement is the arrow keys, fire is space, and then you have buttons for strafing. That's great, but when you actually try to use the controls, it'll damper down your opinion about it. I tried to move away from a huge swarm of enemies, but instead I ran around in a circle straight into the enemies. Just trying to use the controls to move hurts you, or at least slows you down.

Story/Plot: 0/10
There IS an intro movie, but it's relatively disgusting. And even if it DID have something to do with the story (if there is one - I can't see any), it doesn't seem to be connected with it.

Graphics: 5/10

The graphics are horrible for a PC game - but it doesn't really matter. Even though your character and the enemies may be blocky and unrealistic, it doesn't distract you and get in your way.

Sound/Music: 9/10
The sound and music are actually one of the best points in the game. Because the graphics are terrible, Rage probably needed something to even it out - and it turns out to be the sounds and music. Not all of the aliens' screams sound the same, and they all seem very realistic. The music is awesome, and the vibes sometimes do send a shudder up your spine.

Replay Value: 3/10
Because this game is extremely difficult in that you can't save and that you have to start all over from the first level, I don't believe anyone would play the game all over again after beating it once.

Overall: 5/10
This game isn't good. If Rage had done something to lower the difficulty by a whole lot, then it would probably be a lot better. But in the meantime, play something else, because Rage's Expendable is truly expendable.

3-0 out of 5 stars Cannon Spike
It appears Capcom enjoys taking their characters and putting them in unusual settings, and this concept works better than similar attempts by other companies (anyone remember Midway's Sub-Zero platform crap?), but I'm sure they could have come up with something better than rocket-skates. Still, fans of action shooters will have some fun with this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars thumbs up
this is a good game when you have nothing better to be doing.who cares if its short, its fun.with so many difficulty levels it doesn't get boring, just dont play it all the time...who doesn't want to chill out by rollerblading around and shooting stuff with lazors.exchange game music with real music and its all good. \m/

1-0 out of 5 stars Stay away from this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't be hooked by the fact that you can play as megaman or the other capcon fighters. The weapons of all the players are basicly the same. You shoot a bullent with your right hand, and you shoot a special large blast with your left hand. Thats all you can do!! Megaman does not have a large inventory of weapons like he does in his other games.

The arenas are very small, and there are only about 8 stages. AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SKILL INVOLVED. Based on how you select the difficulty level, the game will be either too easy, or impossible to beat.

The only reason why people are giving this game a good rating is because they, or their friends, are trying to sell overpriced used copies. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars House of the Dead is better
This game is a bit short. It has a few alternate routes, where you are allowed you to choose to go left or right at certain checkpoints. But these alternate routes are very short, and do not make a big impact on the fun of the game, or the story of the game. So there is not enough replay value for you to go back to choose one of the alternate routes.

House of the Dead is more interesting in that the story moves along differently depending on which rooms you go into.

Confidential Mission may appear like a copycat of Virtual Cop, but I own both Virtual Cop games for Saturn and they are a lot more fun than Confidential Mission.

4-0 out of 5 stars Well worth it!
Others have said this is a rental only title...Rent it? I wouldn't dream of just renting a rare classic when I can buy it at a fair price. I'm an avid light-gunner, so I'm a bit biased, but this is nearly as good as House of the Dead 2, but it is a bit short in length, thus I subtracted a star from my score. Of course you need a light gun to fully enjoy these kinds of games. The ultimate set-up is 2 light guns, either for dual-fisted fun by yourself, or to have a friend over and play side by side. Mad Catz makes the best gun and they're reasonably priced right now. Get 'em while you can folks! These are great games on a great system. Sure to be collectibles someday, if not already. Those of you who've returned your copies of this game and feel triumphant, will someday regret your decision when you feel the urge to play again someday and find you'll have to pay twice as much a year or two down the road. The graphics are very nice, the acting is cheezy as it should be, the light-gun gameplay is fantastic, and the frame-rates are smooth. What more could ya want?

4-0 out of 5 stars Short but sweet
Confidential Mission is a very fun game, though I never got the chance to play it at the arcade, so when I saw it for 20 bucks I bought it.What I got is a really good game, but it is very short (only three missions). It's worth the price and its a good bit of fun, and the extra modes add replay value. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable But Short
When I first played this game, I didn't really like it because of the controls. But after some practice, and after reading the game's manual over and over, things started to be easy and clear for me. Very nice and fun game. I wish it had 20 or 30 levels instead of only 5. Very promising game. Graphics are beautiful, fast and smooth. Weapons and Characters are great. Bosses are cool. Scenes are excellent. I like the replays that you get after blasting each boss. Get the Tremor Pack with it. RECOMMENDED GAME.

3-0 out of 5 stars Didn't get charged up
Wouldn't go so far as to say this was a blast to play. As a casual gamer, this game is worth playing a few times but it hasn't killed my life anywhere near as much as Phantasy Star Online or Soul Caliber (heck, even as much as Evolution). Trying to get a handle on the controls is probably what's really keeping my interest in the game. You use the triggers to dash side-to-side. The X, Y and B buttons charge up one of your 3 weapons, and you fire with the A button. The analog stick moves the cursor. I've not been able to strafe (yet, if possible), nor can I dodge and continue to charge weapons up. You have to charge a weapon up minimally to do any damage. Aiming the cursor with the joystick is pretty challenging, as is gaging where to hit the ground with a missle if you are trying to nail a group of monsters. Actually, reminds me of that old Sega game Alien Storm or something like that (where the players ran around with Ghostbusters-type proton packs).

It's kind of fun to blow up buildings when you miss, which might happen a lot unless you're using weapons that lock onto their targets. The graphics are nice, including having your armor fall off as you take damage. Sound isn't too annoying.

The stages are sort of short (3 screens of underlings prior to the boss), and I've found the controls to be more difficult to handle than the enemies. One of the selectable characters does not have lock-on weapons, and I've not yet used him since my accuracy rate is low still.

This might be more fun with a second player; I'll find out this weekend. Definitely worth playing once or twice, so rent it first if possible. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A little Perspective...
I really don't understand the high star rating this item has.I will say it is a fairly good game with limited appeal. It is not a 5 star, near perfect buy.
Psychic Force is the Anime version of SOul Caliber.Or that may be misleading.Soul Caliber is a classic style of fighting game and Psychic Force is its estranged brother.Instead of walking around the arena, you fly around.Instead of many close in attacks and a few distance attacks, you have at your command a mound of power attacks, beam attacks, and even a mine like ability for some. But this game fails in several key areas. One, it has little true move strategy. Its true that you still have to learn your moves to beat the game but not like Soul Caliber.Instead of hundreds of moves, you run an average of 20+.Also, the combat can become overly static, as when one becomes trapped and cannot easily escape.Being pounded into the wall repeatedly gets pretty old.
So in conclusion to my rushed and badly mispelled review, only buy this game... or your trying to collect the whole set.Otherwise, stick to Soul Caliber of Dead or Alive 2.

5-0 out of 5 stars OMG, so cool!!
this game is so cool, and i luv it! since i am a particually HUGE fan of anime and japanese (language), i had no problem listening/watching to the lil "movies" inbetween the rounds/fights. i luv all the characters and their moves; setsuna's moves are especially cool. if u like anime/fighting/and hard core graphics, you'll luv this game! i recommend u try it first before u buy it though, cause it won't appeal to everyone. the best moves are the hardest to perform, but sometimes u just gotta push any buttons and hope u get a move if you're in doubt/trouble ^-^ keep practicing and you'll become an expert at this game! (there are secret characters, some u get by doing certain things, so look in a code book or on the internet) i hope i helped!

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't Get Enough of UFC
I can't stop playing this game. It is addictive, especially when playing with friends. I don't know what some of these reviewers are talking about.

One of them complains that "the game would be better if the fights lasted longer than thirty seconds..." For anyone who watches UFC they would know that a lot of fights do last only thirty seconds...just yesterday I watched a bout where [this guy] took a guy to the ground and elbowed him in the head six or seven times. That bout was over in about 15 seconds. UFC isn't trying to be Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. It's focus is on realism, and if you drop someone on their head ten seconds into the fight it will knock them out. Besides, if you practice a lot and fight someone of equal skill it won't be over in thirty seconds...not by a long shot.

Anyway, the graphics are spectacular and I liked how Crave didn't skimp on the details. For example, the referee actually stays in the ring and is just as detailed as the fighters.

The control scheme is simple to memorize and the moves aren't impossible to pull off like in many other fighting games. Their are counters and moves aplenty.

I enjoyed the carreer mode as well. It features fighters with tons of fighting styles that you can train and put up against your friends or the Computer. Crave made so that if you want good fighter you have to train train train, and it doesn't happen in a day. Infact, I spent about two months leveling up my best fighter and now I dominate the Octagon. This is also realistic, UFC fighters go through a lot of training and conditioning in order to fight just one time.

This is a spectacular game... There is nothing more satisfying, for example, than beating Tito Ortiz for the gold title with a character that you created and trained...wow.

5-0 out of 5 stars The King Of Fighters
Hey Hey .this to all of you snk and capcom fans.I think this game is hardcore. All this game needs is capcom dudes.

4-0 out of 5 stars A pleasant surprise
King of Fighters: Evolution brings new life to an annual series that was getting more stale with each new edition. While it may look like any other King of Fighters game, Evolution adds some new gameplay elements to shake things up. Most notable is the switch from a 3-person team to a 4-person team (technically 3 plus a striker or helper character which can be changed). This gives your team more flexibility to match up better against other teams.

Evolution adds a few new characters and for the most part, they're not lame. The new characters are yet another welcome relief from the same old characters you're used to seeing year after year.

However, one of the most important things they seemed to have fixed is the controls. Evolution feels far more responsive than Dream Match '99 and moves are easier to pull off. While Evolution doesn't move like Street Fighter III: Third Strike, it's a vast improvement over the stiff as a board control of DM '99.

Overall, a good game that might mark the end of another SNK franchise.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fighting Game
Between this and Last Blade 2, I'm rediscovering how fun SNK fighters can be.I picked up KOF '99 for PSX (the PSX version of this DC KOF Evolution), and quite enjoyed it.So much so, that I traded it in and bought the--hopefully--notably better DC version.

Very much worth it, in fact. The PSX version has a couple of non-gameplay extras, such as a nice art/sketches section that DC does not.But the game itself is far better on DC.Get this, the backgrounds on the DC are FULL 3D and often quite arresting. The PSX version uses static backgrounds based on those 3D backgrounds.BIG difference!

Also, sound samples and music are crystal clear here, muffled on PSX.Control is better. Then there are many Extra support characters to "buy" in this version, and two nice Survival/Time Trial modes.

And I don't have enough time to extrapolate on the great fighting system, numerous endings (ranging from humourous to somewhat serious).

Fighting fans really shouldn't pass this up, and must pass on the bargain PSX version. The difference is surprising. ... Read more
