Editorial Review

This little wheelbarrow is the tool of choice for hauling flowers, grass clippings, toys, and other treasures. Not only does it look like a real wheelbarrow, it is a real wheelbarrow, with a red steel tray, a black triangular steel undercarriage, and finished hardwood handles. The tray has no-scratch edges and is 20 inches long, 16 inches wide, and 4 inches deep. The black plastic molded wheel is 7 inches in diameter and 1.25 inches wide. The wheelbarrow stands 11 inches from the floor and is 32 inches from the front of the tray to the ends of handles. The whole thing weighs a little more than 7 pounds. --Louise Carter ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful wheelbarrow
This is a sturdy, usable wheelbarrow scaled for a child. My son has loved to help his dad in the yard for years with this, hauling dirt, branches and leaves.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Buy
This is so much better than the plastic wheelbarrows. My son has it all - toy blowers, weadeaters, mowers, etc. and this is his favorite because it actually looks just like daddy's!He hauls dirt, flowers, and of course, toys everywhere. We have had this since Christmas and it has lasted well.

4-0 out of 5 stars good hard to find toy
When I gave this to my 4 1/2 year old nephew the first thing he did was pile his toys in it and give them a ride.I don't agree with the reviewers who think this is small. It looks like my nephew has alot of growing to do before anyone could suggest it was too small for him.My only problem was putting it together which is surprisingly difficult. That is more of a two person job. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Are you sane?
WEll you wont be if you buy this grill!!! My MIL bought this toy for my 21 month old twin boys to play with while daddy grills outside... is this toy a nightmare!!!

First of all educational value... NONE... who wants their TODDLERS (who are in the copying stage by the way) repeating the same rude and innapropriate gas jokes that this grill says? I have heard them making fart sounds with their tounges, and than saying something resembling "that wasnt me!"... TOTALLY INNAPROPRIATE... and my sons thought it was hysterical to grill eachothers faces, and I found them doing the same thing on the real grill (IT WAS OFF... DONT WORRY GUYS), though with the NON TALKING grills they have never had a problem... gee??

DURABLITY... again this toy is broken with wind... who designed a lid for toddlers that falls off if a speck of lint falls onto it... The toy is not made well at all...

ABNORMALITIES (although it cant be abnormal for THIS toy because it happened to all of the reviewers) The food wont stay on the spatula, NEVER so its just soo fustrating, even for me, let alone two toddlers!!! The grill doesnt know what he's talking about because if you put the ketchup in his hand he says it mustard and vise versa, same thing with the fork and spatula... UHG!!! This toy also turned on if anyone walked by it, I mean seriously!!! It would turn on if no one was there... talk about lonely!!! And we DID turn it off and it did say "see ya later" when you pushed the red button, but it still talked!!! But when it got a little soda (and I mean about an ounce) on it... forget it!! I took out the batteries because I thought it was broken but it still talked, and now constantly... AHHH!!! We put it in the closet, and it was getting louder!! SERIOUSLY... we ended up breaking it with a sledge hammer, I am sorry for all of you who wind up with the same problems we faced... We now use our Deluxe kitchen inside, and a cuter grill (that you ca actually grill on it when standing!!) for outside... NO MORE TALKING APLIANCES FOR US

Maybe its just our grill, but this drove us off the wall to the point that we viciously broke this toy... I mean come on.. and I am NOT EVEN EXAGERATING!!!! and the worse thing... OUR SONS WERE PETRIFIED!!! They would scream if it talked to them, they would cry when it would start talking in the night, they thought a ghost was turning it on... So now that this grill is "dead" there is a restored peace in our house... It SHOULD be ILLEGAL to sell such an annoying toy to toddlers... please dont buy this grill

4-0 out of 5 stars Grillin' Fun
My son received this toy for his 2nd birthday. He couldn't wait to get it out of the box!Once the grill was out of the box, he actually sat for more than 30 minutes and played with it.It's the first time I have ever seen him sit longer than 2 minutes! He loves it! My 6 & 8 year old enjoy playing with the grill with their little brother.Great gift!

For a parent - the two improvements that I would have Playskool make would be something to hold the plastic food in and a on/off switch.Mine does not go off at all until my son activates it but I'm afraid when the batteries start going low it might start going off. The lid on ours does not come off.

3-0 out of 5 stars Tip Toe by this Toy
We thought this was cute, and both my 2 yr old and 4 yr old enjoy playing with it albeit for very short periods of time. However, the lid comes off more often than it should and it's easy to lose your burgers & buns in the toy box. My biggest complaint about this toy is that it is sound activated, so even at 3am a bump in the night sets this toy off. Take care when walking by as it will loudly say, "FIRE ME UP!", usually just after you get the baby to sleep or some other time you would like quiet. The kids like it, but this toy's cuteness rubs off quickly and it becomes annoying. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars I love this
I love this toy.We gave my son the Little Tykes discovery sounds work shop for Christmas and this tool belt for his birthday. He uses one with the other which makes it even better. The only thing I was disappointed with was the actual belt part.It fell apart within about two weeks. We don't use the belt any more just the tools. He still loves it.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!
I have two sets of twins, B/G who turned 3 in Feburary and B/B who will be one in august. With that said they ALL love to watch daddy work. My older twins really enjoy playing with "daddies fix it kit" (what they call his tool chest). I do allow them to play for a little while, (veryy carefully supervised I might add!)but I felt they needed their own tools that I wouldnt have to worry about them hurting eachother with. I did recieve a wooden tool set, which works great and is very cute but I needed atleast one more. We do have a "Hand-me-down" tool center but sadly the previous owners lost the tools. I saw this set and LOVED it. The little belt was fabulous, (now they fight over that) and I love the little beeper, although my kids dont seem to understand what its for, they really only know about cell phones LOL. I do have a bob the builder hard hat which is also adorable. But to the reviewers who wanted a tool chest, well I know my children wanted tools by seeing us use the real ones. So if you are inclined to using tools just make one! My husband actually made two. This set is absolutely adorable and I do not need to worry about my children hurting eachother with "daddies tools". Sure they dont look to realistic, (Im sure my kids know they arent real) but they are made for toddelers. I know that eventually my kids will grow up and want "realistic looking tools" (like the home depot sets which are ADORABLE by the way, just my kids arent quite "ready" for that). All in all my two little "baby builders" have fixed everything in sight! They hammer tables, they drill in the couches, they twist all their toys (with that wrench I think it is LOL) and they page all of their clients! I am definatly sure that I made the right choice in buying this tool set for my second one. I am even thinking about storing away the wooden set I got as a gift (my children seem to be forever in the "throwing" stage and I dont exactly enjoy the little marks I find on the walls) until they are old enough to understand that these toys are for the tool center only. I hope I have this tool set for years to come and plan on passing it down to my younger twins, that is if their brother and sister will let me!

5-0 out of 5 stars My Little builder loves it!
My 20 month old son loves to hammer everything, including things that he just shouldn't, but it's all in good fun. Up til now he has been using legos and pop-onzs to build a hammer. After finding this set I knew it was a winner! It is chunky for little fingers so he can use the tools easily and he loves the pager. (that was a nice touch) He thinks he is big like his daddy with tools like his. Eric is not to sure about the belt itself, maybe he will get the point when he gets bigger. But overall we are very pleased with this toy. Now all we need is a hard hat and a tool box!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Educational and Fun - The Perfect Choice
My daughter is almost 3 years old and "Santa" gave her this present for Christmas. At first, she wasn't that interested, but when she came to me to pretend that one of her toys was "broken" (it wasn't really), I told her to get her tools. As an industrial craftsman, I explained (as best I could) what the purposes of the various tools were. After she pretended to fix her toy, I showed her how to change the bit on the cordless drill motor so that it could be used as a cordless screwdriver. Then, I showed her how the cordless screwdriver could be used on the plastic bolt and plastic nut. After a few minutes, she picked up the concept and was able to do it herself. The reversing switch on the drill is a nice touch that allows it to either drive the bolts into the nuts, or remove the bolts from the nuts. The box wrench comes in handy here as well. This is a fantastic product that I hope does not get permanently discontinued.

4-0 out of 5 stars Loads of fun for your little builder
Even though this is recommended for ages 3+ because of the small parts, my son has had this since about 20 months. He LOVES playing with all the "power" tools and screwing things together. My only complaint is that these tools don't have enough "wood" and "screw" bits to make it fun to play with for more than 20-30 minutes. (Battat makes toy trucks and planes that screw together using similar tools.) Other than that, he gets a big kick out of helping Daddy and having his own set of tools. I would recommend this for girls as well as boys. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool..indoors and out
These playskool 'working toys' are the greatest. we own the mower and the vacuum for my 2 yr old..he LOVES them both. Very durable and not too loud that it drives the parents crazy but makes cute talking sounds and working sounds. Definitely a great gift for a 2 yr old and up.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy
My 2 year old son got this as a gift for his birthday in September, so he's been using it in the house all winter and just loves it.Thankfully he doesn't mind that I turned off the sound effects when he races around the house with it.I know he's going to enjoy using it outside!!VERY STURDY!We got a bubble blower mower last summer and it was hard to push on grass and was very flimsy...plus the bubbles only worked for a few minutes. This one is a keeper, however!!

2-0 out of 5 stars This toys needs a manners lesson!
The durability is fine, it moves on grass well and the mowing sound is cute...BUT the faces can be a little scary for younger or more timid children. The MOST IMPORTANT part...the phrases this mower has and the fact that it burps...it is just rude and unecessary! These are things I want to teach my children not to do.We returned it and purchased the Little Tykes mower for now and we are considering a John Deer. ... Busy little hands will discover plenty of projects to completewith this sturdy, pintsize workhorse. Less than 2 feet tall, it standseasily on the floor or on a table. The tan pounding bench has five holesinto which young carpenters can pound two chunky plastic nails or securetwo colorful screws hidden under the bench's flip top. Easy-grip plasticscrewdriver, hammer, and wrench also store under the pounding bench, oryou can hang them on pegs. Three interlocking gears give youngsters aglimpse at the mechanics of cause-and-effect actions. 4-0 out of 5 stars awesome size and durabilty-- great for a young one
It really is very durable, all you have to do is push enough to lock legs in place- we have had NO problems with them staying in place. My child got it when he was 1 1/2 and is now 3 and still plays with it in his own imaginative way. It is also perfect if you don't want the big/huge workshops

5-0 out of 5 stars Little Tool Men
My son has had this toy for a long time, about 3 years. He loved it when he was a toddler, about 18 months and his sister enjoys it now as well. She is 17 months.
It has stood up to allot of play. Great toy! Defenately recomment this as a gift!

1-0 out of 5 stars A Big Disappointment
My daughter received this as a birthday present when she turned two.Unfortuantely, the directions for assembly were unclear, pictures only, and almost impossible to figure out. This toy was not at all what I thought it would be.My daughter loves to pretend to "fix" things and adores any kind of tools, but this toy was flimsy, hard to use (the gears are very tight), and very small for a two year old.We wanted something she could stand at to "work" on, but this is much too short. We returned it within a day of receiving it. ... We bought this leaf blower for my 2-and-a-half-year-old son who loves to watch people blow leaves. It was a huge hit. After he opened it he didn't want to open any other gifts. My only complaint about this toy is that it is SO loud and there is no volume adjustment! We have many toys that make sounds, but this is crazy. While I appreciate the "reality" of the sounds, they need to be toned down a bit so the adults can still hear themselves talk. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars My son loves it, but it's WAY too loud
My son loves this toy, and we haven't had any durability problems (and we've had it for about 6 months). My only complaint is that the toy is extremely loud.

1-0 out of 5 stars This is a horrible present
I bought this as gift for my nephew, who loves to act like he is weedeating.Well the toy only lasted for about an hour before it broke. The shaft broke and I plan on returning it.I can't believe a toy that is broken so easily is still being sold.I won't be buying anymore toys made by this company again. He was so upset that it broke, so now he has to pretend with sticks again. If I could have rated this toy any lower I would have given it less than one star.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing!!!
My son also had this toy for about 3 days before it broke. The shaft broke in half, but because he loved it so much I decided to buy another one. This one lasted longer, maybe 2 weeks before it broke also.I continued to let him play with it because he loved it so.Soon though the round bottom part began to crack and all the little beads would come out whenever he turned it on.Will not buy another one.Very cheap manufacturing, especially for a toy geared towards little ones. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Cute toolbox, but it could use some changes
I bought this for my 2 year old Bob the Builder fan. It is difficult to use the toolbox to hammer into, but if you turn it on it's side your builder can hammer all day long. It's a little tight at first, but after you hammer a couple of nails and pull them out it gets easier. I like this toolbox because its a little more difficult for little hands. My son has to really think about hitting the nails and turning the wrench and screwdriver, but he can do it. This set looks real and my son loves that. If he sees his daddy using tools he will go get his tools so he can help. Some kids might get frustrated with it, but I think that it's teaching fine motor skills.
We love it

2-0 out of 5 stars Dangerous and Difficult Toy
Although it is a neat concept, we don't let our son(s) play with this anymore (and haven't since a week after we purchased it). The screwdriver is a hard, sharp wooden tool that could really be dangerous if he slips or falls on it. Also, we hammered in one of the "nails" and even my husband couldn't get it back out again. There are lots of other "tool kits" out on the market and for safety's sake, I would suggest choosing something else.

2-0 out of 5 stars very limited
My son LOVES most construction toys and barely touches this one. While there are "nails" and "washers and screws", they are awkward to use on the toolkit - mainly for lack of space. Very cute, though, just not terribly practical.

Editorial Review

Here's a realistic toy chainsaw, made of sturdy orange plasticwith a black handle and a blue knuckle guard. The "blade" is made ofsilver-colored plastic and has a kid-safe plastic chain. The chainsawhas three blue buttons. One press-type button makes an engine-y sort ofnoise that is truly loud and could be very satisfying for the would-belogger. Luckily it stops on its own after about five seconds. So doesthe trigger-type button on the handle that makes the chain on the blademove while making more saw-like sounds. This is where the realaction of the toy is, and it sounds very much like a real chainsaw. Thistoy has some nice heft, but it isn't too heavy for a preschooler. Itrequires two AA batteries (included). --M. Sullivan ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not ideal for cutting up bodies...
When I got this I was like, REALLY excited, because I could finally hack up all those bodies I was hiding in the garage. Much to my surprise, the thing didn't even work! All it did was make "realistic" chainsaw sounds! What good does THAT do?! None, I say! I'd be better off using the dull pocket knife that one guy used to cut half his arm off with.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great entertainment for a little boy
We bought the chain saw for a 2 yr old and he loves it! He still plays with it after a year.

1-0 out of 5 stars Received this as a gag gift.... NOT funny!
My son (3) received this as a gift from my uncle who lives more than 100 miles away so he will never have to hear the racket that this toy makes. When my son opened this toy and started it up my uncle let out an evil laugh and and said "Do you wanna' kill me?!?!" He then told me that he only bought it as a joke to annoy me and gave my son his "real" gift.Anyway, this toy is waaaaaay too loud. I even think that it might exceed the acceptible decible level for a child's toy but that's just my opinion.Would I buy this toy for someone elses child? Well.... yes. Only if I was trying to pay back the parents for some type of wrong-doing, lol! Oh.... I made the batteries disappear out of this toy right after he received it. He plays make-believe and is very content with that. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Quality and Finish
My wife mistakenly thought this was a normal sized workbench and bought it for me. At first I wanted to return it, but then I changed my mind. The workbench is a sturdy and well-made miniature replica for children who like woodworking.I started using it for a stool and it works perfectly, except remember to remove the two screwdrivers or you'll hurt your foot like I did!The two bonus vehicles make an excellent addition to my wife's knick-knack shelf.

My 6 and 7 year old boys each received this item for Christmas and immediately set to putting it together with great enthusiasm. The 7 year old managed to put his together completely on his own, the 6 year old probably could have, but he managed to convince his Dad and his sister to help him. Both boys loved all the extra stuff that is with the table top tool bench as well, and have put together one of the vehicle projects already.I'm sure this present will see lots of use!
