Which of the three said, "I'd beat yourbrains out if you had any brains"? (Moe.) If you're a Three Stoogesfanatic, this game is for you. You'll whiz around the path to homeanswering true-false, multiple-choice and specific-answer questions.Just don't bop anyone on the head along the way to a win. --TrilbyCohen ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What game show has spawned yet another home version?
People who play "Jeopardy" fall into two catagories... Those who play to prove how smart they are. And, those who play and fail to show how smart they are. Pressman, in re-releasing this game yet again, has done a good job of putting together a decent home version of the classic. The board is well done and the questions give a good range of general knowledge so everyone can play without feeling too intimidated.

Although it takes only two to tango, it takes at least four people to play Proverbial Wisdom (ofcourse, the more the merrier). Teams try to make heads or tails of sketches drawn by the presiding WisdomMaster (every picture tells a story!). They must also identify common sayings drawn on game cards, andchoose the meaning of proverbs from three given options. The first team to get all the way around the boardand solve the final sketch clue wins. After a few rounds, you and your friends and family will be spoutingbits of conventional wisdom and age-old sayings everywhere you go. This great game isn't easy, but as theysay... practice makes perfect! --Rachel Radway ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Game!
I have spent countless hours playing this game. You'd be amazed at some of the answers. It's challenging, yet you don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. I give it five stars in all categories.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great gift and Teacher's tool, Proverbial Wisdom -the Game
Proverbial Wisdom is the game ourfamilystays sharp with. Proverbial wisdom makes youthink and workfast . Not only do we remember a Proverb.... or act it out, we draw it - depending on the instruction card.
It is good for the tactile ones in our family because you get todraw usingfine muscle coordination. Sometimes the drawings are a good laugh, sometimes they leave us all stumped! The game uses some Proverbs we already know so itkeeps us positive whilewe learn the many Proverbs we don't know.Learning the Proverbial Wisdom way puts Proverbs in long term memory. Our family loves this game because it makes us think, learn, and laugh. As a teacher, I can get fast lesson plans off the net. The lesson plans are readyto print instantly. In teaching and home play, I give it stars as follows:
5 Stars for fun
5 Star for learning
5 Stars for educational value
This is a board game of quality.
When I purchased Proverbial Wisdom forChristmas gifts, I learned Liberty Fund receives monies from every game sold through Dec 31st.

Our TV time is less because we play Proverbial Wisdom at our house on game night!Try it.You will get your money's worth a hundred times AND memories of playing with family and friends to treasure.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game Everyone Can Play!
Proverbial Wisdom has something for everyone. There is always someone artistic who loves to sketch, someone who enjoys viewing the illustrated Picture Cards to solve the proverb, and someone who loves language and discovering the meaning and origin of hundreds of familiar proverbs and sayings.Game play is enjoyable and full of laughs.A fun combination game. ... "Was Claude Monet a painter, a jazz musician, or an Italian dictator?" "Name four of the seven colors in the spectrum." Questions like these are sure to get your child's mental gears meshing while playing the Brain Quest Game for grades one to six. The object is to be the first player to finish a race around the game board, designed to mimic a school playground, by correctly answering questions from the Brain Quest cards. Each of the 256 cards contains questions and answers in categories such as math, science, social studies, English, and grab bag (a euphemism for cultural literacy). Brain Quest's folded cards prevent the I-saw-the-answer-on-the-back problem while allowing even the player asking the question to guess the answer.

A great resource for classroom teachers, homeschoolers, and anyone who has enjoyed E.D. Hirsch's books on education (A Dictionary of Cultural Literacy), the Brain Quest Game is a non-threatening yardstick for measuring learning areas that might need attention. It's also the perfect showcase for helping children to display--and feel great about--how much they already know. Younger kids will enjoy the Brain Quest Game for preschool and kindergarten. Brain Quest is for two to four players. --Julie Ubben ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A SMART BUY
We bought this game for our two kids which are in 2nd and 4th grade.
This game blew away our expectation. Our 2nd grader could answer 2nd grade questions and our 4th grader, could answer 4th grade questions, so they were playin on equal levels. The bonus feature was great, because if it is a subject they are good at, the would take the next grade up's question and move one extra space if they answered it correctly. The "peek and see" cards are a clever addition because our 2nd grader had a hard time reading some of the words in the 4th grade questions. When this happened, he could hand the card to his older brother and he could simply read his own question, without seeing the answer. It's great that we can use our other brain quest sets with this game as well. They thought of everything for this game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for different aged kids
How refreshing it is to play a game that is so educational and practical. We played this game with our nieces and nephews, who range in age from Grade 1 to Grade 5.This is the only game we know of that can allow kids that are so far apart in age to play on equal ground---and even win!The best part is, we have several of the Brain Quest card decks, which can be used with the game, in addition to the thousands of questions provided. This is a great value for the price. It is educational, fun and really gives the younger kids confidence when the beat their older sibling.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game is GREAT!
I have a troop of 12 Brownie Girl Scouts who have been playing this game for 2 years now (I got it when they were 6 years old). They like it so much that they argue about who gets to play this game, even after 2 years! It is fun for the kids, and fun for adults.

The best part is the ability to choose which level of question to answer (can choose from 1st to 6th grade). It adds to the strategy of the game, making not only knowledge important, but knowing which categories are easy for you or hard.

For those people who gave it negative reviews, I have to wonder if they either didn't read, or didn't understand, the instructions.Saying that it "only requires rote memorization" and then saying Trivial Pursuit is better, not only isn't true, but doesn't even make sense... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Busy for hours!
From where i live, it is a 16 hour drive down to Disney World, depending on traffic. My children are ten and thirteen. My thirteen year old knows a lot about bible trivia so we made teams. Kids vs. parents. The kids had fun keeping score and "kicking our butts" at this game. The kids were able to answer most of the harder adult questions as well. We didn't get through all the questions, but form what i've seen, it looks like a great product. However we are still checking. As some products change things and say somethine entirely different form the bible. If your kids have been going to sunday school or some other bible learning edvent, I encourage you to quiz them by using this product. ... Read more

The consistent popularity of Friends is a credit to the consistent high quality of the show's writing. Through several seasons, writers have managed to put the six lead characters through numerous plot twists and entertaining situations. The Friends Trivia Game is a testament to the show's variety, offering 1,000 questions about the lives and adventures of Joey, Chandler, Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, and Ross. In the game, players must travel around the board answering questions about each character and checking items off a scorecard for correct answers. The directions were a bit confusing at first, but as often happens, they became clearer as gameplay went on. The game comes stored in a tin case, perfect for taking to parties at a swanky New York loft that you can't possibly afford to live in. --John Moe ... Read more
