Parents looking to teach kids a lesson about safety might want to steer away from this wreck-intensive play set from Hot Wheels. Still, the Zero G track is an awful lot of fun for anyone who enjoys the time-honored tradition of Hot Wheels cars smashing into each other at tremendous speeds. Mixed review from a Dad
Generally I've not been impressed with Hot Wheels track products.The theme seems to be: make it small enough to sell in a compact box for about $20-$30.Make sure they cannot be expanded or connected.Have each unit have some gimmick -- a jump or a crash involving something that pops off.However, I have to give this set a better-than-average rating.If you buy this with your eyes open, knowing what it does ahead of time ... let's face it, we can see the picture on the box, it delivers what it promises.

I am impressed with the contruction of the set.It does all fit together nicely, but not without some thought... I'm an engineer and it took me 30 minutes at a leisurely pace.Once again 2 heavy D-cells anchor the track in place (sort of).They must be in partnership with Eveready or Duracell!The dual-path track action is pretty cool and works amazingly well.The designer deserves a pat on the back.

I agree with most posters that the play value here is short lived, unless your kids like watching things go in circles over and over again.But for $20, buy it, enjoy it, and in a few months sell it or give it to a charity.You get what you pay for here, so it gets 4-stars.

Great hot wheels track if you have lots of cars
This track is really fun if you have lots of cars, and it isn't very hard to assemble. Cars crash against each other and fly off the track all time, and it's fun to send cars as fast as you can. The meteor is very hard to blow up but when you play with it a while it can explode any time. I recommend this track set to anyone who likes hot wheels tracks.

I cant belive theres all of these crappy reveiws. Mine works very fine. I love Mattels play sets. they are very fun. This isnt piece of junk. What the hell is wrong with these people. i bet they dont take their time trying to build the car sets. Im a genius at building stuff. i always take my time reading the instructions. Sometimes i just make i own car set out of it.

MOST HOPLESS TOY
I NEVER FIND THIS MUCH HOPLESS AND BOARING TOY.THIS IS WASTE OF MONEY AND ALSO WASTE OF TIME.IT IS UNBELVIABLE.

flew great first time, then would spiral and nose hit the ground, after 6 hits the fyuselage broke into two, was fun when it lasted for my 9 yr old but not worth the money if it breaks that fast

The Easter Bunny brought this plane for our son.We charged it up, took it outside.After it's 4th flight, the propeller nut came off followed by the propeller.It crashed.Took a small chunk out of the wing.Remarkably we found the propeller and nut.Put it back on.Tightened it and the other one.Next flight the opposite nut and thus propeller came off.Crash.Nut and propeller gone.DOES NOT COME WITH SPARE NUTS.5 flights (about 10 minutes of play) was NOT worth the money.

Water Logger
Theboat is fun for about 15 min then it gets water logged. It goes about 7 mph but gets water logged very fast. Don't buy it its a waste of money.

Slow but good control
Pros: Batteries last for hours. Turning is very responsive with good control. Good range considering price. Nice asthetically pleasing design. RC controller uses one 9V battery.

Cons: Slow.. about regular walking pace. Only one propeller driven. Poor or No turning control when going in reverse. Can't use with rechargable packs only "AA" batteries and it takes 6 of them.

Conclusion: This boat is a lot of fun even though it is quite slow. This boat would be perfect for children with no experience with RC boats. It gives great control and at an affordable price.Adults will have fun too but will want more speed.

Nice boat for kids

rc toy freak from rochester ny
this is by far the best rc car ever it is extreamly fast it will go over 20 mph easily even on rough pavement. It even goes faster than some hobby cars that cost $100 to $200 more. I am 23 and own many rc vehicles this car is worth every penny. The only problem i had with this car is when I got it it didn't come with a second rear wheel bearing it only came with one so I called Nikko and they sent me one free of charge.

Addictive
I got one of these with the sprint motor - that took about an hour to install, being very careful - it runs great! I look forward to weekends and the empty parking lot across the street - I'm 40! I very much reccomend this car!

I am not able to give a good review on this truck because you did not advertise that this would not have the 6v battery & charger with it. I have never bought a radio control vehicle that did not include the battery & charger in it. Including but not limited to the tyco r/c batman car at christmas. If you had informed me then I could have ordered one now I have to go try to find one. This was very poor business on your part.

Great Smash
This is great fun for kids, especially if they like smashing into things. Our son got one for Christmas and after dinner, he and two cousins had a blast smashing it and having it automatically regenerate. It is very durable. One of the doors popped off (extra excitement!) and it popped right back on.

Great race track
I put it together in 10 minutes. It was awesome!!! I had this as a kid, and bought it to play with my daughter. It's as cool as it was 25 years ago. The cars fly!!!!

Cheap track
My son (almost 3) loved this toy.He loved putting the track together as much as he loved playing with the cars on the track.However, the ends of the plastic pieces where they join together are not very durable.The edges kept breaking off and then the track would not stay together.I tried super gluing the pieces back on, and it just did not stay together.I ended up throwing the track in the garbage, and my son just plays with the cars.I would not reccomend buying this item.Buy something more durable.

No fun
These cars keep flying out of the tracks as they go around the flexi bend.It looks so cool when it works, but when I do it, I can get the car to go around successfully maybe one in ten times.My three year old?Forget it!I tried revving the cars as little as possible, thinking they had too much juice, but no such luck.We're returning it 2 hours after assembling. ... the best thing ever!!!
This truck and boat both work very well. I really like it!!!!!!!!

Good value, some minor limitations
My son just bought this truck/boat combo with a Toys R Us giftcard that he won. He is 8 years old and was very excited to find this boat AND truck together. It comes with 1 remote to be used with both items, which is fine. It also comes with a 6V battery pack for the truck. The Boat comes with 4 AA batteries but can also use the battery pack. I did buy an additional 6V battery pack for the boat so that I don't have to continually buy new batteries.

The truck is light and has full motion remote. It is speedy but does not work much at all on grass or rocks. But works great on the driveway and sidewalk. The Truck is considerably slower when towing the boat. The boat hooks onto the back of the truck, but, unfortunately, the little plastic piece that securely attaches the boat trailer to the truck became bent slightly on the first day so it now longer stays on very securely. The truck will pull the boat, but if it turns sharp or stops suddenly, the boat trailer will come unhooked.

As far as the boat is concerned, it works well in the water, the AA batteries seem to last about 40 minutes or so, it's not a very fast boat, not slow, but not real fast. But it is just fine for my 8 year old son. I'm not sure if he could handle a faster one at this point. It does seem to have a pretty good range of about 60 feet or so.

Overall, it's not a bad value -- not great, but not bad and my son is VERY pleased with this combination, so that's good enough for me. ... Read more
