Editorial Review

The artist Michaelangelo was probably never known as the light-hearted jokester of the Renaissance but that is the role of his namesake in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In this action figure version of Mike, he totes his weapon of choice, a set of nunchakus, and wears his customary orange mask as well as a snarling smile that manages to make him look both happy-go-lucky and still vaguely menacing. When bent back, a spring-loaded mechanism catapults Mike forward in a flip (that was perfectly executed every time we tried it). A breakaway wall with imitation bricks below a set of fake trees is also included. Besides being the Turtles' resident jokester, we are also told by the packaging that Michaelangelo is the peacemaker of the troupe which seems odd given all the nunchaku swinging and wall breaking but in a world where turtles become ninjas, anything is possible. --Charlie Williams ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Slow, doesn't hover well on land, sank after 15 mn of play
My son's best friend got one of those for christmas and we went to the lake to test it against my son's regular RC boat. The hovercraft was very slow and not quite that maneuverable. It hovered OK on water, but couldn't handle sand or concrete. The "skirt" slipped out of its track a couple times (despite our being careful fitting it as best as we could), filling with water - the foam inside it didn't prevent the boat from being swamped by the smallest wave (even in good shape it couldn't handle waves like the other boat.) The thin skirt finally ripped and the boat is pretty much unusable now. Big disapointment. It was somewhat fun while it worked, the concept was intriguing for the gearhead boys, but once the novelty wore off the regular boat was a lot more exciting and all the kids prefered taking turns running that one.

Editorial Review

Whether help is needed by land or by air, this radio-controlled military vehicle and aircraft can get to the action. The plane mounts to the all-terrain vehicle on land to provide some additional aerodynamic lift during racing and stunts. The ATV travels at maximum speeds of 300 scale miles per hour and has a racing range of 150 feet. With a flip of the switch on the handset, kids can launch the twin turbo-prop plane right from the vehicle or by hand and control it to climb, dive, or glide at speeds just over 12 miles per hour. The plane travels as far away as 300 feet and full suspension wheels assist in the aircraft's safe landing. A single remote control lets you switch between the two motorized machines and two additional levers move them forward, backward, left, or right. This land/air stunt machine operates on a frequency of 49 megahertz. For a successful race against another vehicle, kids will want to purchase the companion land/air machine on the 27 megahertz frequency; sold separately. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good with a little adjustment
I found this in a KB during a sale for 30 dollars plus 10 for the battery.Overall its definitely not bad.

The off-road vehicle is pretty big and well built, with suspension and nice big rubber tires.Surprisingly the drive system has a differential, something you don't usually see in toy store rc's.This makes for better turning but hurts it off-road. Its geared more towardsspeed than power but in turbo-mode power isn't too bad.One nice bonus is that since the controller needs a couple hundred foot range for the plane, you can also control the car from that far.

As far as the plane goes with this type of plane you'd have to be lucky to get one that flew perfectly out of the box.The propellers spin the same way which will bias the plane towards one direction.Mine turned left all the time so i just cut small squares of paper and taped them on the wings for flaps to bank it back to the right. With this adjustment the plane flew very well.

It hasn't launched off the car yet but i'm sure with a little trial it will.

It has a few nice design touches, the battery pack goes into a box that goes into the car. This box can charge the plane even when its outside the car.The plane charging cable has its own compartment to be stored in on the car. There is a switch to lock the plane into the car when your not planning on launching it.6 extra propellers are included.

5-0 out of 5 stars best toy
this is the best toy in the wrolrd i mean it is a plane and a car and that's y i think it is a relly cool toy.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fly away home...
Turn left, stall, crash. Turn left, stall, crash. Turn left, stall, crash. No matter how I held the controls, that was what the aircraft did every time it launched. Turn left, stall, crash.

Finally I discovered that if I just leave the controls alone, it actually flies! Once airborne, I could climb (just tap the control, don't hold it) I could swoop. I made a left turn -- wonderful! I made a right turn -- also wonderful! I made another right turn -- no response. Tried again; nothing. Turn, damn you, TURN!

No response.

Last seen about a hundred feet up and a quarter mile away, pointed south but headed northeast behind the treeline. One flight we got out of this thing, and now it's gone. It was my kid's birthday present, and in accordance with all "Dad" stereotypes I took the controls and rendered it useless.

The land vehicle only handles grass in "turbo" mode, and that poorly. Goes pretty fast on pavement in a straight line, but otherwise basically immobile. No fun without the plane.

If the neighbors ever find the plane, we'll try again. It's a fun toy, but it needs zero wind and 5 acres, preferably paved.

2-0 out of 5 stars Quality a BIG disappointment
Breyer used to be synonymous with quality, but they forgot about quality with this truck and trailer. They are very detailed and would be okay for display on a shelf, but the materials used to construct the truck and trailer are very poor. The plastic is cheap & flimsy, the hitch is ridiculously cheap and highly breakable if used to pull the truck, the doors don't set correctly and thus won't open and close properly. Most children (and parents) will be very disappointed in this very, very expensive set.(....)

1-0 out of 5 stars Very disapointed
This is very poorly made. within 3 hours of my son getting this truck the muffler broke off along with the hitch. JUST horrible that we spent this kind of money on something soooo cheeply made. I have never been more disapointed in a toy for my children!

1-0 out of 5 stars very disappointed
I bought this for my son and had to return the first one because it came out of the box and the doors would not align or close. The second one was better, but it seems very fragile and not worth the price I paid for it.Also, the mirrors are not glued in/on.The push into the door and come out easily and are easily lost. ... Editorial Review

With a remote control that is simple to master, this two-speed airplane is perfect as a first radio-controlled toy. The Resistor takes off from its own computer-operated launch pad with a single press of the Launch button from the remote. A large toggle button moves the plane either left or right as the plane hits scale speeds of up to 400 mph and flies up to 300 feet away. For quick speed, a Thrust button on the remote gives it a 25-percent extra power boost, and for a smooth, even landing, a Land button brings the Resistor down safely. Except for a few hard plastic components that house the engine, this lightweight plane is made almost entirely of Styrofoam, which damages easily if it hits obstacles so it's best to practice flying in open, treeless areas. This toy requires six C batteries for the charger and one 9-volt battery for the plane itself and requires only a three-minute charge in the docking station before it's ready to fly. --Cristina Vaamonde ... 5-0 out of 5 stars SUPER COOL!!!
First when you open the box this plane seems junky. Trust me, this thing is as strong as a rock! The landing button works really well, but the thrust makes it go up a foot and dive, go up, dive. Turning is really hard because in one second of holding the stick thing right or left it will overturn and crash. It never really "crashed" more like a unsmooth landing. The flight time is pretty short, the longest I could get it to fly was about a minute, still the turnig is sharp and landing good so it makes up for the thrust and flight time so it isn't a BIG problem. SUPER COOL!GET THIS TOY!

1-0 out of 5 stars my story
I got this plane because my friend got it and I flew it and loved it(he had the black edition) i flew mine but it wouldn't fly I tried many of ways and I couldn't seem to get it to flyi got my friends to fly but not mine I repeatedly tried but I couldn't . The front of the plane was all torn up. The I flew it one last time then it crashed into the ground and the back wing broke off. I only had it for one day. Also I think that toys'R'us is asking for way way way way 2much money (40$) for a Styrofoam plane when it is going to break on the first day

3-0 out of 5 stars About the Defender
The Airhogs new plane, the defender is a good plane for beginers and once you get control of it it is preety fun. The Defender is very durable. My plane ran into a tree before and didn't break anything. If you are a beginer then you should try this toy, but be aware that it is not that moneverable. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars woweecaboodals!
yipee! an airhog that works (very well). though breakable, the box says 50 ft- 200 ft sonny! pirty durable the flight pattern is soewhat simalar to the one on the commercial! no kidding! yet its all about how many pumps and just the right throw. first off, pump it around 25 pumps of the bicycle tire-pump thingy included. flick the proppelor reeeel hard and stiffin your legs up a bit look strait forward not at the plane- strait forward- down toss it- dont heave it- just chuck it 10 degrees upward facing AGAINST THE WIND- very important. and then hey, the plane will do the rest. oh ya every ones confused about the styrofoam- its to make the plane light, how far do ya think a chunk of plastic will fly? huh? huh? ~chris

4-0 out of 5 stars kinda cool- if you know much about flight
hhmmm well- fist of all i wana tell you that if its a particularly windy day- face against the wind and launch 30 degrees upward- duh! the propellor will absorb more air for a faster stedier flight and wil reach bout 50 feet from your upward launch and will slowly drift back down to earth.i want to warn you that yur gonna have to ajust it alot every flight or so. not to much if you get the ailoron flaps positioned juuust corectly. i dont know about the other reviews (pollute the air in your local neibor hood? now tell how that would happen!)and this is pretty cool. and remember to buy the air hog planes that are powerd by air, the electric ones (dont know bout you) reeaaly suck! who knew! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars King of the road
I want to make sure that all of my inferiority complexes are passed down to my children, that's why I'm getting all of my kids the Yellow 16" Hummer for Christmas.

While only a miniature version of the actual vehicle, they will appreciate the powerful statement that all Hummer drivers make when driving this Force Majeure down the road. My kids can practice what it feels like to drive this bold-colored giant, and imagine all of the awestruck looks they'll receive.

Laugh all you want, sedan drivers. My car is bigger than yours, and that makes me better than you.I know it, you know it, and this Christmas, my kids will know it.

Put on your own air show with this radio-controlled stunt flyer from Air Hogs. Jet black, and rather stealthy-looking, the plane can reach heights of up to 100 feet and perform stunts such as 360-degree loops and sidewinders. It's built from a single piece of high-density EPP foam, which is stronger than either EPS or polystyrene, and outfitted with twin propellers made of durable plastic. The six-way radio control enables you to move the plane up, down, left, or right; thrust it forward; or land it. No assembly is required, and two spare propellers are included just in case. Required, and sold separately, are eight D batteries for the docking station and six AA batteries for the controller. The airplane charger doubles as a display stand. --Andy Boynton ... Read more

Editorial Review

The F-series of trucks have gained tremendous popularity over the years as much for their brute power as for their macho design. And among F-series trucks, the F-350 is the largest and most imposing. Done up here in 1/6th scale, the F-350 features a wide variety of custom features likely to delight truck owners or those kids who hope to one day become truck owners. It sports spinning rims on its bulky oversized tires, as well as headlights, signal lights, and brake lights, all of which turn on and off. Acoustically, there's plenty to offer as well including a working FM radio that consumes the entirety of the truck's bed and a variety of sounds such as a horn that plays "Dixie", screeching brakes, and a car alarm. The trunk and doors open, creating all sorts of possibilities for imaginative play (wouldn't a Darth Vader action figure look great driving a truck?). 1-0 out of 5 stars needs better battery
If I pay a $100 for a remote car I expect the battery to last longer than 10 minutes of play.It is cool looking and all that but what's the point when it doesn't run very long. According to directions you charge it for 4 hours, let the battery cool and then finally can play for roughly 10-15 minutes. After playing for awhile it acts like your constantly braking which I assume is because the battery is going dead but with no phone number anywhere on directions can't call the manufacturer to find out.Very dissappointed in product and will probably end up spending another $15 on an extra battery.Next time I'll just buy the $20 remote cars because the one my son got 2 years ago works better than this one.

4-0 out of 5 stars pretty good and looks awesome
It is pretty cool. I have driven this about 2 and a half hours over about a week. The Headlights are just generated by the motor so they don't light up when your not accelerating. The suspension is okay and it absorbs most bumps. My wierd complaint though is the alignment on my car attomatically slides to the left unless I put it far enough right. I like the speeds, I can barely keep up with it when I'm running after it. The reason I didnt give a five stars is cuz' the turning is jerky and it's hard to do a wide turn. For this reason I got lots of scratches on it, like when I'm driving next to a curb and I tap the turning and it slams into the curb and flips so the term "turns on a dime" when describing this car doesn't make it that good. Which it isn't too bad, just it could be more fun. Whats cool though is if your car is on uneven ground, the diffrential make it kick up dirt and stuff. It comes with a9.6v battery pack and charger and it lasts up to literally 30 minutes on a 4 hour charge. Overall this car has a good value and awesome looks for 50 bucks.
