5-0 out of 5 stars Great Beginner Game!
I bought this game for my 7 year old when she got her 1st Gameboy System and she loves it! I would not reccomend this for any child who is a long term player but this is an absolutely perfect game for the kids to start to recognize the buttons and get used to the system itself!

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun Runs Out Quickly
This is NOT a long-term game. The levels (depsite being "easy", "medium" or "hard") are either riduculously simple or painfully difficult. For any child over 5 or 6, it will loose it's appeal VERY quickly.

The only long-term fun is to see how many tickets can be collected, but the rewards for collecting tickets (the water slide) is probably the most boring game on it.As a mom, I can say that this was not a game I would have bought if we had tested it first.

4-0 out of 5 stars OK, NOW WHERE'S THE FUN?
Well it's ok for like the first 15 minutes but then it's like where did the fun go. I'm 11 and I thought it might be fun but after I played it I realized it wasn't too fun. It's ok for like 4-8 year olds. So if you're buying for someone in that age group, Good Job. They will probally like it. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars IT'S VACUUMIN TIME!!!!!!!
I love this game. Last summer I played it all the time!!!! This game rocks!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars what the?
did luidi do something wrong like get bad grades or something and drop out of school and ended up being a plummer? well yea i guess he's been grounded for like a billion years from being a star of any game and if he IS a star in one the word "MARIO" is in the title and this game "luigi's mansion" oh yeaaaa he has a mansion and since he's grounded from bad grades people he has to clean the whole house with a vacum

3-0 out of 5 stars Luigi's Mansion... Not Much of an Adventure to Get Into
I've always grown up liking Mario and so when I got this game I was rather excited to see what it was all about. However, when I did get it, I was rather disappointed with what I got.

There's nothing much too special about this game: You will beat this game in a matter of hours. The bosses are terribly easy, and even the puzzles that surround the mansion aren't that challenging.

There are lots of things that annoy me about this game. First of all, Luigi moves so slowly. It's not like other Mario games where you can run extremely quickly or even fly in the air. Instead you just shuffle around on the ground. Boring.

The second thing I didn't like was you don't see a lot of the other characters you're used to seeing. I didn't see Yoshi in there, or Princess Toadstool. Instead you say a wacky Professor that just gives you a vaccume and annoys you with his chatter. Then of course you see the Boos, Mario, Toad, and Bowser but other than those characters that's about it. Quite sad.

Finally the last thing that I really didn't enjoy was the whole brightness of this game- it's too dark. I like to have parts in the game where there are some brightness, but you won't find that with this game. The only good positive about the game were the general graffics, but it's ruined with the darkness.

The music is not what it could have been, you'll get annoyed very quickly with it, and after you play through it the first time, it just gives you an option of repeating the same adventure you went through for some 'bonuses' in the game... but for me, when I went through it once, why would I go through the same mansion and the same exact puzzles again?

Go rent another video game (I'd suggest Zelda). This one isn't worth renting, and especially not buying, unless if you are a huge fan of Mario.

2-0 out of 5 stars the company better hear this
Sypro the dragon games were always fun except the GBA versions. But this is worse than that! And that was pretty bad to begin with. Like I said they were about fun and thinking but this game only focuses on toughness. And the boss namely Red cheat big time and everybody elde seems to have got stuiper even the Professor. And Blinx's levels are the worst with those hard jumps which is the easiest way to annoy a gamer. So from a pro don't get this game rent if you just want to see how lame the series has gotten.

4-0 out of 5 stars A good game
Me and my brothers really liked it. It has good graphics. And it has lots of things to do. And places to go. It is real fun and doesn't get boring easily.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game is the best of all!
Spyro: A hero's Tail is the best game I have EVER played! I already beat the game..5 days, in 5 days, I beat this. This game is very fun. But, I tell you this, the game is quite confusing at times. Remember the, "I now have a few tips" review? I sent that. You better be thinking me, 'cause that sorta helped me out myself. If this is a help, I'll list the bosses you fight in order: Gnasty Gnorc, Ineptune, Red, And finally, Mecha-Red. Mecha-Red is extremely fun to fight, however, a little hard as well, but very fun. Okay, I'm done, comment as you please ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars an inferior sequel that offers more of the same, only easier
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II is a curious name. It's like calling a movie Part Two: The Sequel. Dark Alliance was a chapter in Baldur's Gate's history and this game continues what was started in the first, including many of the same characters and voice talent.

To wit, all the efforts in the first game to prevent the teleporting Onyx Towers from falling into the wrong hands was for naught. Mordoc Selanmere (a vampire) has located the towers on the Shadow Plane and manipulates both the Harpers and the Zhentarim into bringing it to the Prime Material Plane so he can teleport right into Baldur's Gate itself and turn all the citizens into shambling undead.

Our three heroes from the first game (the elven sorceress, the human archer, and the dwarf) have been captured and apparently are in for a long torture session. Meanwhile, five new heroes are recruited to the cause:

* Borador Goldhand: a dwarven treasure-hunter
* Alessia Faithammer: an aasimar cleric
* Vhaidra Uoswiir: a drow monk
* Ysuran Auondril: an elven necromancer,
* Dorn Redbear: a human barbarian.

My wife chose Vhaidra and I played Ysuran, because they were the most interesting characters. I mean, come on, Dorn Redbear sounds like a Klingon.

Vhaidra is known mostly for her sarcastic comments and the inability to walk without crouching like Elmer Fudd. Ysuran is identified mostly by his bare nipples, which he seems to have a pathological need to display at all times. It must be a necromancer thing.

The heroes must journey from place to place to retrieve certain items at the behest of various employers, whom ultimately all happen to be connected. The same merchant sells and buys all things with the same annoying and repetitive banter. The twist is that finding masterwork equipment and then augmenting them with gems can improve items. In this way, you can end up with an Exceptional Helmet of Viper's Quickness.

Also new to the Baldur's Gate games is the notion of prestige classes. After reaching 20th level and doing enough research about their past (which always costs gold, of course), the characters can join prestige classes. Ysuran's can join Shadow Adept and Vhaidra can join Assassin. These classes give you new nifty abilities. The only problem is that by the time you're 20th level, these abilities are marginally more effective at best.

The Baldur's Gate series uses a simplified version of the Dungeons & Dragons game system to good effect. All spells, feats, and class powers have been turned into feats. At each level, characters start with a certain number of points in certain feats. For example, Vhaidra starts with 1 dot in Armor Proficiency, Sprint, and Unarmed Combat. One dot in Armor Proficiency means she can only wear light armor, like leather armor. Role-players, look in horror upon that which is possibly Dungeons and Dragons 4.0!

We played the game on Medium difficulty, which was probably a mistake. Ysuran is capable of surviving just fine by himself, because of Skelly.

What, you don't know who Skelly is? Why, he's the skeleton that arises from Ysuran's Animate Dead spell. Unfortunately, Ysuran doesn't really animate any dead-Skelly just rises out of the ground and does not require any actual corpses to create him. Another missed opportunity for gaming coolness.

The world hates Skelly, but he doesn't seem to care. Every monster in the game has an inexplicable desire to kill Skelly (again), but Skelly just whacks away at them with his bare fists. Fortunately, Ysuran's protection spells extend both to his undead as well. Which really makes them unstoppable. There were a few situations wherein the boss monster killed Vhaidra and Ysuran prevailed with just Skelly and the Life Drain spell.

If Skelly makes the game less challenging, the Life Drain spell makes it a cakewalk. In essence, Life Drain inflicts damage and heals Ysuran. However, Life Drain doesn't require any targeting-Ysuran merely needs to point in the direction of his victim and red darts of energy flow out of his foes towards him. Yes, I ate several cookies while Ysuran sucked up the souls of his enemies like a Shop-Vac.

Because you can craft magic items, things quickly get out of hand. With enough money, Ysuran had a +4 helmet that protected him from 15 percent of fire, cold, and acid damage. And then because he was such a wuss, I gave him a ring that gave him a +4 bonus to Strength so he could carry all the crap Skelly found.

There were some challenges, like the Elemental Plane of Air, where Skelly and Ysuran often fell to their doom. Although really, how long did it take for them to hit "doom"? It's all Air, right?

Dark Alliance II seems to be dumbed down a bit. There are no longer ammunition limits, so ranged weapons effectively fire forever. Stocking up on arrows kept the archer in the first game in check. Here, it's all bolts, all the time.

The graphics are more or less the same, although my wife appreciated the fact that most of the main characters didn't seem modeled after certain movie stars (remember the bartender of the Elfsong Tavern, Lady Alyth?). And no, you can't strip down the drow chick to her underwear like you could with Adrianna in the first game.

For reasons I cannot comprehend, the map function was moved to the touch pad instead of pushing down on the stick. Since spells are up and down on the touch pad and the map requires pressing to the left (right switches from ranged weapon to two-handed weapon to one-handed weapons), more often than not I brought the map up in the middle of a combat. Please guys, if ain't broke, don't fix it!

Baldur's Gate II is an inferior sequel that offers more of the same, only easier. It's probably more entertaining in a single-player game, but it was definitely not balanced for two players. Restricting the necromancer to a single-player might have been a good start.

Although I feel obligated to tell you that Skelly thinks that's a stupid idea.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome RPG
Dark alliance 2 is one awesome RPG. You pick one of five heros and you go through the game getting the guy you chose to go up levels. Anyway it is like the first darkalliance but it's co-op is way better, not to mention the fact that the Graphics are outstanding for a game like this. the trees look real and the grass hills every this is awesome as far as graphics go. The one thing that is way awesome about this game is you can smelt your weapons and break them down in to get runestones and stuff so its awesome like you can get a sword that does fire and Ice, or poison and lightnig you get the pic.

So I give this game 5 out of 5 stars.

4-0 out of 5 stars Co-op Saved my Marriage...
Ever since I started on the Atari way back in the 80's, I've been one of the original gaming girls.

scary.

This game is one of the best coop xbox games out there, and though it's old, I'm still a fan.The areas are fun, and the idea that you gain cooler spells and abilities makes this addicting. The playability is simple - kill anything that moves. However, like the first, it's over before you can say "Argh".My suggestion?RENTAL!!I shelled out the $49.99 plus tax, and it was done within a few days. The extreme level sucks though, and that should keep you busy. But the areas don't change, and it's predictable. But the graphics are fun, and it's fun to interact while you kill stuff. My husband, is not a gamer, though he liked this game alot! Great for you Diablo people out there. If you like this one, get the Hunter: The Reckoning franchise. ... Read more

I loved the game. It was really cool. Different than other Sim games. The only thing they should do is have one for Nintendo DS. I'm thinking about getting Urbz:Sims in The City for Nintendo DS. I'm only 8 but this is more fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Gameboy Game Ever!
This is by far the greatest thing to happen to Gameboy owners. Both of my siblings are equally addicted to the game as I am, and we have completely different opinions in video games. And parents, don't worry. This game is totally child-safe.

I just LOVE this game! I haven't stopped playing since I got it. It's addictive, and very fun.

Your Sim can get a roommate, buy whatever you want to buy, and do whatever! It's the perfect game for RPG lovers, and a great game for any video game liker. Even if you hate video games, you've got a pretty good chance of liking this one. Buy it, buy it now. Stop trying to figure out what you want to spend your money, or gift certificate, or whatever on. BUY THIS GAME!

Thank you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Anexcellent choice
This game is very good. I have not played other sim games but this isby far my favorite game to play anytime. I enjoy getting to do all of the goals, and even though I haven't finished the game in a month due to the 3rd chapter when I couldn't figure oout how to find the last goal(Go to knikki knack) i still thouoroughly enjoyed the gameplay it delivered. Buy the game anytime. You shouldn't wait until the price goes down or anything, and it's a great present for a kid. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game!
Shining Tears is officially my first Shining series game and I love it! In the Shining series, the games were famous for lots of different races. When I saw how diverse the cast looked, I had to get my hands on it. This game takes me back to playing Albert Odyssey since the party was also diverse in that game. The different characters are quite a team:

Xion, male human swordsman
Elwyn, female elf archer
Ryuna, female human priestess
Lazarus, male dragonian knight (my all time fave)
Neige, female human sorceress
Volg, male wolfman martial artist
Mao, female catgirl ninja

Now that's a diverse crew if I ever saw one!

The graphics are VERY top quality anime. The party members and their facial expressions are simply beautiful. Makes me outright jealous that I can't draw that kind of anime.

The music is similar to Final Fantasy Tactics. You have your standard military themes, normal mission themes and special opera-like themes for grand battles. A beautiful selection of songs, I hope the OST comes out soon.

The gameplay will remind one of playing Secret of Mana and its more recent cousin, Legend of Mana with the real time battle system. You move around a map of an area slaying enemies with two party members. You control Xion (mostly), and you're partner is up to you. You have Charge attacks with Xion and Link attacks with your ally (which differ depending on your friend). The action gets intense from time to time, especially when you end up taking on armies of monsters and enemy races from more than one map.

The story is unique. What intrigues me most are Xion's two rings that are the core of your party's fighting power. A pair of dragon rings grant two characters the power to take on hundreds of enemies at once. That's quite a basis to form a war story! And it seems a kingdom with Rune in its name has once again fit the role of villain. I'm impressed.

All and all, Shining Tears is a great RPG. For some people, the redundancy of training using old haunts may bring the same feeling of mediocrity one may have felt playing Tactics since the systems are similar. However, if this is something you can deal with, this game will be a guaranteed hit for you.

4-0 out of 5 stars Why is this wonderful game getting such low reviews???
First and foremost I just want to say:
****Ignore all reviews that says this game is bad****

Okay, Now for the reasons why I made that statement:

Graphics:The graphics are beautifully done in an Anime style artform. The characters are all beautifully done. I would give the graphics a 5 out of 5.

Sound:WOW!Simply amazing.Especially the battle music.Voice acting is limited to the shop owners and some battle voices.Which I think is great.Since I know how to read I don't need the characters reading for me.I would give sound a 5 out of 5 as well.

Story/Gameplay:The story and gameplay are awesome. You control Xion, a hero with amnesia, through a quest to find out who he is and where he's from.Along the way you will meet a strategist/doctor, a cold sorceress, a heart warming priestess, a strong wolf, a cute and perky ninja cat, and you are found lying on the beach by a bow wielding elf.All the while something sinister is brewing. Also, a cute rabbit girl will tell you about the different game mechanics. All playable characters are completely customizable.Shining Tears is simply awesome.Story/Gameplay gets a 5 out of 5 as well.

So why four stars???The constant loading screens are a little bothersome, but all you need to overcome them is a little patience.I clocked them around 2 to 10 seconds long.In short, if your into more of the fantasy RPG's, then Shining Tears will not disappoint you.

****Shining Tears is Classic Role Playing at It's Best****

4-0 out of 5 stars Super underrated!
If you do research on this game, you will find that it recieved a lot of really low scores. And I am begging you to disregard it.Shining Tears is a really fun game.Especially for it's two player option.I find the story interesting, and battles are fun.It does take a little while to load, but that's because originally and in it's Japanese release it was supposed to have a lot of voice acting. So, the load wait is a little on the extreme, but it hasn't deterred me from the game. You play as the hero, who was found on a river bank. And of course, you have amnesia, and the only thing that can hint at your past life is a ring. You find out shortly after that the ring contains crazy awesome butt kicking power. You will always be fighting alongside a partner, and that partner will always inherit the ring when you choose to put yours on.It then goes on a yin/yang thing. If your partner has an evil soul, you will be good.If your partner is pure, you will become evil. And one of the most enjoyable things in the game is watching your wussy lead character transform in to a blood thirsty maniac. In a way, it reminds me of the very excellent Growlanser. The fighting is just hack and slash "Zelda" fun, but your party is completely customizable, and you can choose which skills to learn or level up.The skills are pretty cool in this game too, and because you will always be with a partner- you get link skills. And even if you play alone, you can control your partner to a certain extent.
This game is just really cool, and it is very unfortunate that it is getting some tough reviews. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Read this before you bye the game.
This is a great game, but if you like games that you can keep playing, after you beat the game, you dont want this one. Dont get me wrong, this is a great game but when its over, its over. Once you beat the game there is no playing on. All you can do is re-play the game. Most games, you can play something extra, but as I said this game doesnt have that extra play. plus, this game is short. I think it took me a total of like ten to fifteen hours to beat it. It was easy. There are a lot of highlights though. The co-op is awsome. But it is fun in single play too. And you can play co-op and single player in the same file. There is alot of info on the x-men in the game too. if you like the x-men you will probably like this game. overall, its a good game and I gave it a four out of five.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not an Epic But Still a Worthwhile Adventure
Ok, I'm a pretty decent X-Men fan - liked the comic books, liked the cartoon, liked the movies, though all three are like comparing apples and oranges. At first, I was a little stand-offish about an rpg video game. But I'm happy to say that overall I am quite impressed.

The storyline had a little to be desired. In traditional epic-adventure story devices, you begin with the rescue of the latest mutant recruit, Allison/Magma.From there on, story line trickles in through a series of missions and storyline interludes that take place at the Mansion. You're not getting a Final Fantasy epic tale, there are few loops and curves that really bewilder you with amazement, but what's there is fun and functional. In typical superhero fashion, the X-men's archnemisis Magneto is released and the heros must stop him before the fate of the world is sealed.

The game truly shines in playability. The graphics are fun and comic-book style, though with the quality of current gaming, I would have expected a little more detail, but you don't loose anything in the enjoyment of the gaming experience.
For each mission, the player selects a team of up to four mutants, controlling one and the rest act on AI.I've had horrible experiences with AI controlled npcs (can anyone say Arcanum?), but this is pulled off fantasticly. The computer controlled characters are very self reliant, jump at any chance to do a combo attack and usually don't get themselves killed.Should a character get killed, reviving them is no problem at one of the many extraction points in each mission.
As for team compatibility- you get plenty of opportunities to test out new mutants. Part of the strategy is to have a diverse group that can handle themselves and any obstacles and the possible team combinations seem endless.

In true RPG fashion, each character levels up with experience points. You can custom design which skills and powers each character progresses in.I found myself starting over several times at first, trying to figure out how to most effectively level up my characters. One mistake not to make: don't try and make every character completely well rounded, make sure they max out your favorite special powers or else you'll have a team mate who isn't exceptionally good at anything.

As for the multiplayer settings, it can be difficult for two or more players to share the screen - especially when two players want to run in different directions, but the multi-player option is a lot of fun.Unfortunately, during the unnecessarily long interludes at the mansion, when you're only playing as Magma, your friends will have to twiddle their thumbs with nothing to do.So, this isn't the game where you and three friends sit down and play all the way through on a Friday night.

Overall, X-men Legends is an excellent purchase and is worth replaying several times. One can spend hours simply practicing in the Danger Room and playing with all the characters.I do have a major complaint - the game is simply too short. It would be wise to re-release X-men Legends with several additional missions.I was quite looking forward to taking a whirl with Psylocke only to find that she doesn't join up until 3/4 of the game is over!

If you're in for a power team, do not overlook Storm and Jean Grey, who are probably the two most power characters. You'll have to sit through a lot of cheesey dialogue and poor voice acting - there's not too many surprises, but you won't get tired of the non-stop action.

4-0 out of 5 stars Player
I wasn't sure what to expected when i got this game for christmas, but when i started playing it, i couldn't stop. The effects of the game were great. I found the game challangeing. The hardest part for finding the crew members on the ship.I like the fact that you don't have to play as one x-men but with a group of x-men. The only problem i had with this game was all of the loading. I felt like i spent more time waiting for it to load then i did playing the game.

The game tries to keep with the story line of the comic book. Magneto breakes out to destroy the earth and the only ones who can stop him are the x-men. The game is great for anyone who like to play long games or just enjoyed reading the x-men comics. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars My 6 year old loves this game!
My daughter got this game for her 6th Birthday along with her GBA and she loves it! It took a bit to get used to switching back and forth between Annaliese and Erika (each girl can only do certain things...so they BOTH play the game) while going through each level, but once she got the hang of it she did great!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for older kids who can read.
I bought this game for my 6 year old daughter. She has just started reading. This game requires a lot of reading. Even with me sitting with her and helping her she got very frustrated. I think she will really enjoy the game once she is able to read but she will probably have to wait at least a year.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my 6 y.o. GBA beginner!
My daughter got a GBA for her birthday (right before Christmas), and I got this as well as some other games (at Christmas) to go with it--specifically, Mickey Mouse's Magic something-or-other, Polly Pocket, Finding Nemo, and Disney Princess.

Even though she's gotten through this entire game (at the easier level of two), she's not put this game down since she first tried it!Thank goodness I got this one at Christmas, or the others might never have even been attempted. This is BY FAR her favorite, and I'll say it was fun for me to play as well.

Yes, there is some reading, but I think if you get a non-reader started on the way the game works, reading isn't really necessary.I could be wrong though, as my daughter is a reader anyway.

One nice thing for the young ones is that on the easy level, even if they get hit by the dropping acorns or whatever the "bad" thing is, they don't "die" and have to start over.Very good for reducing frustration! Now that my daughter has made it all the way through on the easy level, she can play the regular level without frustration and with confidence.

Great game! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Better Than FIFA
I am from England where ever loves FIFA but now there is a new footy game on the market and everyone is turning. In the UK its called Pro Evolution Soccer 4 and i have had ever single one of them sice Pro Evo 1. They all better than FIFA because it has better game play and is much fast than FIFA which is slow and boring not like the beautiful game of football but the only thing FIFA has over Pro Evo is that it has better graphics and has the real names, which is made up for in gameplay. This is a great game playing against your mates because the pace of the game is gets much faster. This is much better than FIFA and the more people that buy it the more real kits and names there will be on the game SO BUY IT.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best of the Winning Eleven series to date
I have played all of the North American W.E. games since WE 6 and I have to say that I am impressed with the consistent improvements that Konami has done with this series.Below is my review based off the PS2 version:

The Winning Eleven games have all had one thing in common: tremendous and realistic gameplay. Not only does WE 8 continue this tradition, but the game also adds on welcomed new features that compensate for the lack of online play and club licenses that is synonymous with the FIFA series:

- On the pitch referee
When fouls are committed, you'll witness a referee run up to the play to either warn the player or toss out a yellow card. What makes this neat is that you have the option to select which referee will be the decision maker for your game. One ref that is not made available is Pierluigi Collina, who is heralded as being the best ref in the sport. That's a bit of a bummer but doesn't really do much to affect the game

- Free kicks now involve two kickers
Yep, that's right.By using the select button (on the PS2), you have the option of using two kickers from the spot. This now only adds to realism, but strategy as well since you have more than one person at getting around the wall during free kicks.

- Advanced moves
In previous versions of W.E. you had to be real adept in using the buttons to get around your opponent.Although you still need to be pretty skillful in maneuvering your man, you can use the R2 button to perform stutter steps and more fakes to get around the defender.Playing against the computer on the highest difficulty will show you how hard covering the AI has really gotten.

- Improved AI
As great as WE 6 was, the AI wasn't overly difficult.WE7 was better at working on this but now, WE 8 has really added to this department. You'll find that if you play the same two teams 3 times, you'd be pressed to win all 3 games in a row.The defense of the AI has hard to get around unless you really are adept in passing well.As I said earlier, offensive AI is hard in its own right in that the addition of trick moves makes it hard to cover your opponents one on one, especially if the opposing player is a star such as Ronaldo, Zidane, Henry, etc. You'll also never score the same goal twice (unless it's a penalty kick). The AI is just too good in this game.

- Improved graphics
This is easily the best looking WE game in the series.Although FIFA has been renowned for their graphics, I really think WE is not that far behind anymore. You can easily make out players such as Beckham, Schevchenko, Figo, etc.Heck, you can even witness Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United along with his huge earrings.Animations are numerous in this game as well.Players complaining, goal keepers trying to motivate teammates, players pushing each other after a hard foul was committed all add to the fun factor in this game. You'll even see dirt stains on players' jerseys after a few minutes have passed in the game.

- Deeper Master's League
Although I have yet to try this part of the game, I have been told that this is the bread and butter of the game.Basically this is the part of the game where you take a team over the course of several seasons and try to build a dynastry (similar to franchise mode on other games like Madden). You can keep track of your players during the course of a season with player ratings fluctuating.Old players will retire at season's end and young players, with added playing time, will improve right before your very eyes.Previous W.E. Master League's have kept me busy so I'm expecting this year's iteration to do the same to me once I get to it.

Here are the few cons I found (PS2)
- Commentary/Sound
Not horrible, but not great. However, once youre knee deep in games (which will happen once you play the hardest level), you won't be concentraing on the sound as much.

- A bit of slowdown
If you have several players in the box, there's occasional slowdown but not bad enough to take away from the gameplay.

- No online play.Probably the most "glaring" deficit of this game according to some.True, online play adds fun to games, but I always felt that playing a sports game with more than one person is best when you play your friends directly instead of over a broadband connection.

Overall, this is probably one of the best sports games I have ever played (Madden 2003, NBA 2K series, and SSX I think are on this level). Even if you're not a soccer fan you'll enjoy how much of a challenge this game will provide for you.If you are a soccer fan like myself, you'll be blown away by the realism this game serves up. And if you're a Winning Eleven fan, you'll be flat out impressed with the new features this game adds over previous editions.

4-0 out of 5 stars No frills... addictive gameplay
This is definitely a no frills soccer game. The menus are crap. The music sounds like it was ripped from some 80's action flick. The graphics are pretty good but it looks like we've hit the wall with this generation of consoles, so you feel like your looking at every other soccer game around. The manner in which you save games and highlights is clumsy. And I'm sure there's more stuff but I've only owned it for about 24hrs.

What stood out is the game play and physics. There must be hundreds of player animations, all extremely realistic, that tie together seemlessly. Players stumble, trip up, dive, roll over and over like Klinsman back in the day, get pushed aside, throw up their arms in dismay when they miss an easy chance (and sometimes cover their faces and drop to their knees), dispute throw-ins and fouls with the ref, reel from a powerful shot, and so on. It's all these manerisms that you take for granted when you watch live soccer on the TV, but appreciate so much in this game because it's obvious that the designers cared about making it as realistic as possible. It's all in the details. The game play itself is smooth and intuitive. If you've played FIFA for donkey's years because it's the only soccer game of note in North America, then you can dive into this one very quickly. Once you get up to speed you will find that games flow nicely and are very challenging. The opposition AI makes for a tough game at higher difficulty levels and goals won't come easily. Stadiums are varied, more so than in FIFA. The way the grass has been cut, the quality of the pitch, the type of netting used in the goal, the closeness of the crowd to the pitch, all vary as they should. I love the way the ball behaves in wet weather, stopping up short and kicking up sprays of water every time it hits the turf. The way the netting responds to the ball hitting it at different angles and speeds is a thing of beauty. I look for all of these small details in a soccer game, and I was pleasantly surprised here.

Overall it's a bare bones package with high quality game play and incredible attention to detail. As far as licenses go you get the Spanish and Italian leagues and maybe a couple more, but the others are all fictional with some real names thrown in. Giggs plays for Man Red apparently. There seem to be plenty of other features like training, cup competitions, editing capabilities, etc. that I don't really care about. I just want an entertaining and realistic soccer experience and this game delivers.

5-0 out of 5 stars I'm addicted!!!
I had a GBA for christmas and also had this game and the incredibles. When I tried it at first I was immediateley hooked. This is by far one of the greatest games I have ever played. It has got excellent detail and graphics. you can play as four characters( Shrek, donkey, puss in boots and the gingerbread man).Puss in boots is my favourite.I am going to give you a spot of advice" if you are looking for a game, buy this one,I reccomend it".Some levels are hard and some are not.You just want to know what happens next.THIS GAME IS AUESOME, BUY IT!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Tied number 1 for my favorite GBA Game
This game totally rocks! The graphics and sound are great and it is just perfectly put together. There are a lot of levels and the game lasts a long time. The three main charecters are shrek, donkey, and puss in boots. My favorite is puss in boots because he can slide and climb. Its not really an easy game, the levels are challenging enough to be fun, but they are not impossible. The game also explains the story line just in case you havent seen the movie.this game is #1 on my list (tied with mario kart super circuit)and is very good for everyone. This game is appropriate for boys and girls of all ages and is definately worth the money.(its also great for long car trips)

5-0 out of 5 stars My daughters are hooked on this game - HELP!
I had to write a review for this game.We have many games for for various formats, but they have been addicted to this game for almost three months. My daughters are 8 and 11, and we take a lot of long, boring car trips.I had to buy a second game to keep them from fighting over who gets to play it.
There aren't many gameboy games that my daughters like to play. They are not into fashion or destruction.Games don't have to be boy or girl products. They should be fun, creative, humorous, colorful, and challenging. The Mario games are good examples. This game hits the mark perfectly.

1-0 out of 5 stars Mommy look, it's a SpongeBob game. It must be good...
I don't think so. I am a HUGE SpongeBob fan. My friend owns this game for Gamecube. The Gamecube version is great! You KA-RA-TE chop, bubble bowl, and rock out with SpongeBob. Using Patrick you spin around, cartwheel, and smash. That was a description of the Gamecube game. Now, I don't own a Gamecube so I got a GBA game, thinking it would be somewhat the same. I was very wrong. It is a 2d side-scroller, no KA-RA-TE chops, no cartwheel, not one single attack except for smash. You destroy enemies and bosses (very easy bosses) by jumping on their heads. Regular enemies either walk back and forth, float and throw stuff, try to hit you with a hammer, just float up and down or burp on you. Very easy enemies. Even easier bosses. Bosses have their own special combo of attacks. You avoid them(includes running at you, jumping on you, throwing stuff at you) by jumping over them, ducking,or dodging and when they pause you jump on their heads. Do this 3 times and you've beaten that boss, way too easy for gamers. You collect clams to buy so called "upgrades". All these really are are lives, buckets(explained later) and bonus levels. Buckets are buckets full of soap. When you press L SpongeBob drinks the soap and spits bubbles everywhere, destroying every enemy on the sceen. When you hold R you charge up for "hyper speed". When bubbles appear behind you let go of R and you'll run really fast destroying any rocks or enemies in your way. Press A to jump, and A again to float with Patricks pants. B isn't used. Two more things, I went through this game in one hour, and it doesn't save (you have to enter a code you get every two levels). This was a waste of $30. I hope this review helped.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!!!!!!
When I first got this game I loved it right away. So far it has probably been the best game I have ever played on game boy adavance. I've gottin' a little through it. If you like adventure games, I think you'll like this. Espeacially for those spongebob fans out there. If your a spongebob fan and like adventure games, DON'T listen to the people that say this game stinks!!!!! IT DOESN'T STINK!!!! THOSE PEOPLE PROBABLY HATE SPONGEBOB. Their SPONGEBOB HATERS!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars good

5-0 out of 5 stars DDR Max is da bomb!
DDR max is so much fun.I played it at one of my friend's houses, and liked it so I bought it.Later, she got ddr max 2.I did not like ddr max 2 at all.It didn't have as good songs, and it was just overall really not as good quality as ddr max - it was a let down. So, if you are wondering which ddr to get, ddr max is the one!

(The good thing about all ddr in general is it is more of a fun workout than actually a video game.)

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty dang fun.......
After reading so many reviews praising ddr max as the best dancing game ever, I got it along with a dance pad and tried it out. At first it was incredibly difficult. I would lose every time. I've definitely gotten a lot better at it, but still can't do alot of the stuff. One of the problems with ddr max is its extreme difficulty level. Even at light mode, it takes a ton of practice just to be able to do those well. Also, there aren't enough good and easy songs to practice on. I like the workout mode, but I wish they could simply have allowed you to pick out a playlist and then let you simply dance without all the interruptions because it destroys the rhythm. But still, it's a great mode of play. Multiplayer is really fun since you can dance with another person. Overall the game is pretty good, but I'd recommend DDRExtreme. It's newer, has more songs, is more balanced, features eyetoy support and everything which makes ddr max and ddrmax 2 relatively obsolete.

4-0 out of 5 stars One problem... No good songs
I will rate this game into three different catigories.

Gameplay:
Great!Freeze arrows have been introduced and the animation of the arrows on the screen have been greatly improved. Also, the introduction of music videos adds a nice touch. There are three modes of difficulty so everyone can dance at exactly their skill level.

Music:
Now I know that everyone has different musical tastes but several people have told me that the songs in DDR Max are terrible. I am sorry to say that I have to agree with them. The arrows are really only half of the fun.The music you dance to is the other half.

Fun:
This game really fun. However, some of the fun is taken away by the terrible music. For some reason,Dance Dance Revolution is a really great game.It is great for parties and provides hours of fun and entertainment. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great game,
I remember, hearing about this, so I rented it. I had heard comparisons to Full Spectrum Warrior, which was a lesson in positioning, while this was an FPS that .
If, it's made with the help of Marines, it has to be good. I only wish they put more work into the the graphics of the game in the early part, it looks, too motion-captured, and the voice of the Lance Corporal you play as gets annoying "GONZALEZ!, GONZALEZ!". BUT the moment you enter that urban environment, you get that feeling you could be hit from anywhere from rooves to back-alley corner and, you can. Other than the difficulty born from realistic tradition (Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six), clearing rooms is a blast! I played Star Wars Republic Commando, but those guys had personal shields like in HALO, and could be revived at any moment. But when your guys are stacking up to breach a room in Close Combat, you get that feeling like, I hope my guys make it and wipe every guy in the every enemy in the room off the face of this simulated Earth.Usually no-one is left alive in the room. And finally, it's a small detail, I'm happy I can jump into prone! Another memorable moment I remember making a guy drop his weapon, hands on his head, then, the sneaky creep pulls out a pistol. Realism baby, authentic realism.
You can tell MARINES were involved in this, even past it's faults. I have yet to beat this, as work, and other games I have yet to beat.

4-0 out of 5 stars This Game Aint for Weak players.
I think this game is far better than any other squad shooter out ,with exception to Brothers in Arms.I'll admit the squad A.I. is not the greatest. But if you order them CORRECTLY you will not have many problems at all.The enemy A.I. is far superior to your squads or any other game to date. This game gets some bad reviews because its probably too hard for some little kiddies and some novice gamers. This game is WAAAAAYYYYYYY MORE REALISTIC than Full Spectrum Warrior.Who the heck would go into a firefightand just command people with a giant green cursor?? In F.S.W. You just sit back and watch you men do all work.Where is the REALNESS in that? Im so sick of hearing that lame game FSW is better. F.S.W. is soo unrealistic & lame it sickens me.Also WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO WITH A PISTOL AGAINSTA MACHINE GUNNER NEST???? WHY DONT YOU PICK UP THAT DANG RPK OR AK47 & USE IT AGAINST THE ENEMY?? INSTEAD YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT NOT HAVING A PISTOL.There's a saying that goes dont bring a knife to a gun fight.Well dont rely on a pistol against a friggen 75 clip RPK.Not a wise choice. If you pick up the enemies dropped weapons there's plenty of ammo to take out the enemies.DONT GET ME WRONG AINT NOTHIN WRONG WITH A GOOD PISTOL! BUT DONT CRY ABOUT NOT HAVING A PISTOL WHEN THE DEAD ENEMY JUST DROPPED A FULLY LOADED 75 CLIP RPK ,PICK IT UP SOLDIER AND FRIGGEN USE IT BABY BOY!In the real world ,YES ENEMIES WILL SWARM YOU FOR NO APPARENT REASON THATS THERE JOB, TO TAKE YOU OUT.There'ssome seriously intense firefights in this game. They feel more real than the very scripted F.S.W. Not everything in real life is set up to flank at all times .Sometimes you have no choice but to go straight up the friggen middle. This game does a good job of having a ,what I would call a green squad ,where sometimes they will freeze up a little when the shooting gets tense,Im sure this happens to realworld GREEN marines ,albeit a very few though as MARINES ARE SOME OF THE BEST DANG FIGHTERS ON EARTH! This game does a great job a putting you into unfamiliar and adverse situations where everything isnt set up so precise as to just flank here ,use that wall ,or take cover there .Its more realistic feeling to me because there is a sense of intensity and tough fighters who are unpredictable at best. Its not just a cookie cutter type game where it sticks to one simple format flank, suppress, fire. Im sure real world enemies have figured out these common tactics. This game does a good job of putting us in the place of the REAL MARINES. Who are some seriously tough sons a &^%*$#.MY Hats off to youbad @$$es! First To Fight aint for whimps.Go Ahead and cast your negative vote ! Just because you couldnt beat the game on REALISTIC mode dont cry about it fancy pants!! Isnt Fight the pansy flowers with water pistols part 2 out yet? Maybe you should play that instead? If your just the casual gameror a little kid RUN FROM THIS GAME ITS TOO HARD FOR YOU! From alot of the reviewers here from there comments I can tell that they dont know how to play this game and order there squad correctly and they dont know some of the other commands,or they dont know how to issue them. Its not your fault its just F.S.W. spoiled you kiddies!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not as tactical as they want you to think.
First of all i am 15 years old (16 in october) not 12,i just don't feel like registering right now.

When i first heard about "First to Fight" and saw the previews and screen-shots i was very exited,as i am an avid tactical shooter fan.

The ads and previews said it was a sqaud based shooter, with a new "phycology" AI (artificial inteligece) system in place to help your sqaud, and enemy OP-FORS act and react more realisticly to the chaos of war.

I thought cool, another ghost recon/rainbow six, one shot one kill, instant death, tactical kind of games.

NO.

The manual talks about setting up ambushes, use stealth, and breaking the ememy's will to fight.
But is (alost always)imposible to do these things because almost everthing is scripted.

For example:After pain-staikingly clearing out a road full of angry malitia-men,you move on to the target buiding father down the road only to cross an invisible line, triggering a mob of OP-FORS that swarm you from all directions leaving you to fight off the mob by yourself while your stu... uh i mean mentally challenged, team mates (ahem) just stand around and take pot shots like untrainded amnesia ridden fools who have never seen an m-16 in there lives.

Squad commands are almost imposible to coordinate because you have to be able to see an enemy to order supression fire from your team. And while you have your crosshair on the target's head why not just shoot, instead of asking one of you "elite" sqaud members to do it?

On the plus side the Sound is very good.Gun shots are loud and crisp, explotions sound cool, and the music is good.

The controls are decent, very playable and easy to use.
I you push the thumb-stick forward all the way you will walk at a slower pace that allows you to aim better(This is usefull for clearing streets)if you tap the thumbstick forward twice, your charecter will run fast with his gun down, and you will not be able to shoot.

The graphics are bland and empty, there is little imersion in the game. This is 2005,games should be looking better than this,Halo proved that in november of 2001.

Pros-

good physics
great sound design
decent story
cool intro
pick up and play controls
room takdowns are effective

Cons-

Horible AI
Bland graphics
No mission list
heavilly scripted
all-around,not fun

If you like medal of honor,or shadow ops, then you might want to give this game a rental and just play run and gun without your lame sqaud, for the rest of you i recommend that you steer clear of this one.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hell Yah
Ths is the best one yet.The new players and the graphics was what impressed me. The only thing keeping it from getting a perfect score was the dynasty mode was very repeditive.

Players very good
dynasty mode not so good

4-0 out of 5 stars Better than I thought
This is my first year buying NBA Live since the Sega Genesis Years.I played 95 -96 and then found 97 to be complete garbage. So I took a break from b-ball games for awhile until I played NBA 2k1 at a friends house one day.I immediately went out and purchased a Dreamcast.I was in love with this game and the following year's version.Dreamcast went out so I purchased a Gamecube.I purchased NBA 2k3 which was fun but I couldn't play a full game without the reported freeze.ESPN decided to discontinue their games for Gamecube and I was in trouble.I refused to buy Live again.

This year I said "what the hay, it's only $25".I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by this game.I haven't played 2k4 or 2k5 but this game is pretty realistic this year.If you crank that baby up to superstar level and increase the game speed to about 75, you have yourself a game.I have never seen a defense and offense so smart from the computer.on previous 2k editions, if you don't call a play the men just stand around looking like "what should we do next".Live doesn't have that problem, I just got finished playing and Jermaine O'Neal came up top and set me a screen and began to roll.I didn't have to "tell" him to do it. Post men go to work in the post and shooters work to get free (running around picks and subtly pushing their men off).On the old 2k games the computer offense would usually take some crazy shots and bail you out on defense. Not this Live here.Whatever defense you play they adjust.I switched to the 2-3 and the Lakers were working all of the holes in the zone. When I switched back to man they worked the ball around until they had a free shot. That's smart b-ballin'.The computer offense will always find the open man when you double down leaving you to scramble to find the shooters. On defense the computer doubles your hot scorers.I was getting hot with O'Neal but the computer didn't just bring some lame double from the entry passers defensive man. They were bringing doubles from all over the floor. The doubles were aggressive and if i brought the ball down around waist level I had to worry about Kareem Rush or Chucky Atkins wrestling the ball out of my hands.Once the ball hit the floor people started diving to gain possession.I said "that's it this game is great".

The only thing I have found that I hate so far is playing defense. It feels like you are on skates and at your opponents freestyle dribbling will. When playing your friends I suggest playing some zone for when you get broke down off the dribble.

Take it from someone who loves playingand watching basketball, this game is pretty good and very realistic.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game rocks!
This game is awesome! It is so fun making your own team and doing street challenge! You can create your own characters, shoes, and courts! The characters you make can get very deep detail! The game has great graphics! I like this game a lot and I suggest eveyone buy it. It is an awesome basketball game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Nba Street V3 is the best basketball game ever!!!
This game is so cool! With the all new trick stick you can do a bunch of totaly awesome tricks. You can use any player from the NBA. You can use current players like Vince Carter, Carmelo Anthony, and LeBron James or old players like Kareem Abdul Jabar, Wilt Chamberlain, and Larry Bird. If thats not enough for you, you can customize your own baller with the more advanced customazation that makes your created baller look so real and so awesome. The new gamebreaker is so cool too. You can do a bunch of cool mid air tricks to do an awesome gamebreaker dunk. After you create your own baller you can create a court for him and try out the cool new street challenge and build your baller's reputation to the max. To top all of that off there is a new dunk contest which is sort of baised off of the gamebreaker dunk. So that's the basics of Nba Street V3 but there is still a lot of cool stuff on it so you should try it out.

5-0 out of 5 stars This video game is great
I have played NBA Street and NBA Street Volume 2, but NBA Street V3 has got to be the best one I've played. I played this one in Nintendo Gamecube, and the gamebreaker has been even better than the original gamebreakers. It would have been even better if there was a Three-Point Shootout along with the Dunk Contest. I give this game a 10 out of 10. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars FUN BUT EXTREMELY HARD
FIRST OF ALL I AM A BIG STAR WARS FAN AND THIS GAME ROCKS BUT YOU MUST BE REALLY CLEVER AOMETIMES THE LEVELS ARE SO HARD I HAD TO YOUS CHEATS TO UNLOCK THE OTHER LEVELS BUT THEN I BEAT THE OTHERS.
P.S. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME I'M ONYAVIN FINAL CONFLICT AND WHEN YOU GET TO THE THREE PLACES TO GO I8 HAVE KNOW IDEA WHTA TO DO BECAUSE IPUT OUT THE FIRE AND THEN PUSHED THE WALLS BACK AND NOW DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO PLEASE HELP ME.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great star wars title!
This is a great game for any skilled star wars game freak. The graphics are pretty good and the gameplay is very fun and challenging don't listen to the negative reviews claiming the game is to hard, the people who claim it's to hard are just weak at video games granted the game can frustrate but it never get's to the point where you want to throw the game out the window. This is a good game and I highly recomend it to and star wars fan. p.s. don't buy jedi academy that game is horrible! what a shame to ruin the series like that!

4-0 out of 5 stars Action Packed!!!
My computer was to slow to play it. So I had to wait till it came out on Xbox. I had high hopes for this game and it did not let me down. The first two levels were kinda dull for me because I wanted to use a lightsaber. But after the first two levels it was granted and the game shined differently in my eyes. The gameplay after that point was action packed and I can say I never thought to brandish a gun ever again. From your first lightsaber dual up to the secret stage of the game, I have enjoyed the gameplay experience. I even find myself returning to the jedi action once and a while to slaughter stormtroopers and take in some of the big environments. If it wasn't for certain levels were I was constantly plummeting to my death I would have gave it five stars. I'm not a big Star Wars freak but just buy this game if you like the movies, it won't let you down. ... Read more
