4-0 out of 5 stars Monkeys Roll On!
This is the newest installment of the series. In case you're wondering if this game is on Gamecube, IT'S NOT! A PS2 disk is 4 gigabytes. A GCN disc is 1.5 gigabytes. It needs more than 1.5 gigabytes. On to the review!
This is basically Monkey Ball 1&2 with 100 new levels. I'm not saying it's the best though. Yes, the graphics are great, there are 12 mini-games, etc. That's true; that's why I gave it 4 stars. There are some things that have been messed up, badly. 1 thing is the menu. It is so choppy! When you move level-to-level, it takes forever. To surprise, this wasn't messed up in the other games, even on GCN! I would recommend this IF you don't mind choppy menus.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hours of fun!
Join the Super Monkey Ball Sensation!

So you look at the title, thinking "Super Monkey Ball...?"
Well, the game isn't just for kids. This game uses actual physics to have you roll a monkey around into a goal. But you can fall off by hitting moving objects, miss a landing pont, or just by accident.
What got the good reviews about the Super Monkey Ball series were its mini-games.
You can golf, race, bowl, shoot in dogfights or other people, countless hours on one mini-game.

Note:

If you look for fast loading, and good graphics, but sharp movement, I suggest the XBOX version.
However, if you don't feel the need to buy a XBOX, the longer loading time, and the framerate is tipped down a little, PS2 is right for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game.. !!!! Everyone should be playing this..
If you're into party games, this one's for you. Played a few levels in story mode and that was great and quite addictive, but the Mini-games, in my opinion, is where this game shines. You have a wide assortment of these little games with different version for each, all of them great fun to play with another person or a whole bunch of people. And at $30, the price is just right.

Get yourself a multi-port, a bunch of friends and you'll be laughing, crying, and cursing for hours. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent! True to the story and very fun.
Very true to the story. This game started out rather boring, especially if you've already played the other games in the series, but it just keeps getting better. Don't buy it if you have the game on PS2, either, it's exactly the same, but it's a harder game than the second and easier than the first. You could almost say that it was a happy medium. Being a Harry Potter fanatic, myself, it was rather exciting to finally be able to play a game on my first console. Being almost sompletely true to the book made it all the better. Play it!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not a good choice
I rented this game, my almost 4 year old son wanted it so I decided we'd rent it first and try it.It was too scary to play around him.I even got a little creeped out by the dementors sucking Harry Potters soul out of his body.
If you have small children don't buy this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best game ever!!!!
This is the most amazing Xbox game ever!!! I just got it yesterday and I beat it in 1 day!!! I couldnt stop!!!

Things that make this game so great...

1. Exploring Hogwarts Grounds and flying on Buckbeak! Also their are 3 different seasons...fall with rain...Winter with beutiful snow and great winter music...and spring! The grounds are huge! Its amazing! You can even run around the two courtyards from the movies! On buckbeak, you can take off, and land anywhere on the grounds!

2. Being Harry Ron and Hermione!

3. The graphics are amazing, much better then the first two games! Harry Ron and Hermione dont look stupid like they did in the first 2 games!

4. The music is great...the same great music from the first 2 plus new great music!

OK...their are many more great things about this game that I could be here all day...get this game! Dont even think about it just get it...you will thank me! ... Read more

Well, im a casulal gamer and you might not want to listen to me but if you do theres a couple things i have to say.First off the game is great, but not educational. you can go to all sorts of lands and find the "krem coins" and feathers and such, i do think they should charge less money for theese "gameboy" games, but i have grat fun overall.

4-0 out of 5 stars Go Bananas!
Super Monkeyball DX for the Xbox, is a puzzle game where you collect bannanas by rolling your monkey inside a ball. I know it sounds strange, but once you play it you'll understand. The monkeys live happily in their monkey village with with friends and family, until one day a ship hovering over, steals all the bananas in your village, leaving your tribe without food! So your mission in each stage is to retrieve as many bananas. While going through insane looking puzzle mazes, filled with hazards such as: conveyer belts, gorges, spikes, winds and more! You guide your ball (monkeyball) with out falling over the maze and reaching the finish line in time. The concept is very simple and the game very addictive! You can also play any of the twelve (12) mini-games included, such as; baseball, golf, bowling, shooting, boat racing, tennis and more! Each mini game can be played by yourself or up to three other friends and it is fully customizable. The mini games are a lot of fun and add lots of replay value. It's like you are getting several games for the price of one! The game is challenging for adults and good for kids because there is no blood or real violence in the game. Get it today!

Pros:

1-0 out of 5 stars horrible
i rented this game for a week a while back and could only stand a few hours. the game is terribly confusing and the graphics were not that great. if i were to recommend a snowboarding game, go with ssx3.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than ssx 3 if you ask me.
You should get this game.It has 15 tracks. There are many dangers that await you. From a train derailment to a bridge breaking down. You can also open up shortcuts from hitting a barrel of explosives to knocking down a yellow sign.Overall,I think you should buy this game.

2-0 out of 5 stars Exceedingly Enjoyable _ Grimly Limited
Nintendo's 1080 is a load of fun packed into one small package. When you consider how limited the game is ultimately, you can't help but feel disappointed after only a few days of game play.Nintendo could have really done something special with this game, and with the amount of time it took for the pioneer of video games (Nintendo) to release it, you'd think there'd be much more.

The graphics of 1080 are superb, and the controls are smooth and fantastic, but the characters and levels/stages seem grimly limited.I loved playing this game.I found myself begging for more. The music element of 1080 was impressive, but that wasn't enough to make up for the lack of greatness it could have been. I'm dumbfounded by Nintendo's lack of effort towards 1080 and the overall product release. If Nintendo was frustrated with the lack of sales this game produced, they should have given this game what it really deserved. It deserved MORE. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great fun, a must for every SpongeBob fan!
I can say that again, a must for every SpongeBob fan.

With this Plug 'n Play TV Game, this thing comes with 5 games. Here is my rating on the games packed in one:

Bubble Pop - Like the classic Breakout game from Atari, with a SpongeBob twist, and lots of levels to complete. Rather than bricks it's bubbles! Wow!
Rating: 5/5

Sandy's Surf Adventure: A resemblence of Defender and it's finest, and you get to play Sandy surfing on a clam shooting out acorns at henchmen.
Rating: 4/5

Patrick and the Maze: Gauntlet calling, with Patrick as a main character in a coral maze, and finding friends along the way to try out little microgames!
Rating: 4/5

Invasion of the Hooks: This is ok, but not the best out of the collection, when you first try it you might think it's fun but if you play it again later or the next day it probably gets boring, but still allright.
Rating: 3/5

The Super Chum Bucket: A game that features Evil Plankton! On a mission to kidnap Sandy. It's up to SpongeBob to save her from the evil genius, Plankton! Reminds me of the arcade Nintendo game, Donkey Kong which debuted Mario!
Rating: 5/5

Durability is a top standard which can stand rough playing.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Plug and Play...PERIOD!
My three year old son and I went through a plug and play phase where I basically bought every available plug and play system available. Well, I can tell you that the Spongebob plug and play is by far the best of these game systems. The games are challenging but not maddening and lots of fun. There are 5 games included on this little joystick:

1. Spongebob's Bubble Pop (10/10): My personal favorite of the five games. Basically in the old Breakout/Archanoid game style but very fun and with 50 levels to complete!

2. Super Chum Bucket (9/10): This is basically Donkey Kong featuring Spongebob and Plankton...but hey, Donkey Kong is a classic and this game is just as entertaining.

3. Invasion of the Hooks: (4/10): This one is kind of lame. Sandy, Plankton and Patrick are hooked and Spongebob must save them by throwing Krabby Patties at the hooks...not much fun.

4. Sandy's Surf Adventure (7/10): This one is a fun old school style shooter in the vein of Defender but with Sandy crusing through Bikini Bottom.

5. Patrick and the Maze (7.5/10): Obviously a maze game but reminds me of Gauntlet. Patrick must unlock and find his friends...an entertaining game.

**A word about durability** - This plug and play has withstood some rough play (I also have a 16 month old) meaning slamming, banging and pulling of wires; yet it works everytime we turn it on. The batteries do need to be replaced every now and again for optimal performance.

So overall, if you or your kids love Spongebob or old school video games, this system is a must-own. Highly Recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very cool!
I got it for Christmas, and it ROCKS! All the games are REALLY cool, and I'm becoming a master at it! My brother, Bobby Gelhar, and my sister, Katie Gelhar, love it! I think that it is really awesome, and is REALLY REALLY COOL! I WOULD BUY IT IF I WERE YOU! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't get any better...
It just doesnt get any better than online racing with Project Gotham 2. Without XBOX live, this is a decent game, fun to try and beat the game on the difficulty levels from easy to VERY difficult (known as platinum). but WITH xbox live, and the ability to race all the cars and all the tracks with tons of people LIVE is what makes this awesome. If youve got XBOX live, this is a no brainer for the price!

5-0 out of 5 stars Currently, my favorite racing game.
Project Gotham Racing #1 was extremely fun, providing the gamer with many different kinds of cars to choose from, (however most of them had to be unlocked which was a bummer) a lot of maps to choose from, and plus multiplayer mode.

Now PGR2 features even MORE cars then the 1st one, a lot more maps then the first one and what is best is that it has online capabilities.

Graphics: The graphics in PGR2 are amazing. The car models look extremely realistic and the background design is over average. To bad there aren't any cutscenes though...

Gameplay: The gameplay is PGR2 is pretty simple/self explanatory. Race your car and win! Thats practically it. However, PGR2 includes a feature that no other racing game does. Kudos! By cutting sharp turns, you earn a certain amount of Kudos which goes towards your "Kudos Jar." Some races depend on the abount of Kudos that you collect, some races depend on whether you come into 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. It all depends. This, i found was very unique and a cool aspect on PGR2.

Audio: The audio all depends on whether you like rap/hip hop music or not. If you like it, you will give the audio feature a 5/5, if you dont, then you will most likely give it a 2/5 or a 1/5 if you HATE the rap music that blares out of the radio in your car.

Online: The online feature in PGR2 is cool. You can basically only race your opponents online and trash talk them which is very fun! Plus there is downloadable content.

As a result, if you are a fan of Project Gotham Racing #1, you will fall in love with Project Gotham Racing #2!

2-0 out of 5 stars Fun for online play, but grossly unrealistic
The game is fun if you're interested in playing bumper cars, but unrealistic otherwise. The majorityof the courses are easy to beat even at gold level, with about 10% being an unreasonable pain in the butt.Winning a race usually involves pushing other cars around (the game rewards you for this), and be ready to be spun around yourself - the computer will aim to hit you if you're heading the race by taking the inside line and ramming you as you're taking the corner.Should you try to do the same, you'll have a much harder time, as cars controlled by the computer are very resilinient to being bumped and in some law-of-nature defying manner just keep no racing faster than you.

A major nuissance is that you're always started at the last spot, and often the game will race perfectly until the last lap, where the leader makes a dumb mistake and bumps into a wall.. this game really tries your patience.

On the up side, graphics are fun, as is the option to pick your own music.Online game play is a lot of fun though, as everyone's on a level playing field.I swear the computer cheats when you're playing against it! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars thiscompleats my games from when i was a kid
this compleats the games i used to play in arcades as a kid i got activision, intellevision, and nanco so this atari compleates the arcade list too bad the companies don't have these games bata tested before releasing them they would know of the problems and fix them before release or atleast giveya a sheet telling you how to fix the problems. this game is alot like the arcade feeling only you can pause it when ya need and nobody take your turn.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Scoop On Atari Anthology
This game definitely brought back memories. With all of the old Atari 2600 games like Combat, Yar's Revenge, Asteroids, Centipede, Dodge 'Em, etc., you'll find something that you will enjoy. The plus to the game I found is actually the original and sometimes annoying sounds. Now I use surround sound so I get the annoying bleeps and buzzes in full 5.1 MONAURAL sound. There is no stereo.Hey, but when we were kids, we played Atari with its vast array of 256 colors on the round screen TV with only one speaker and we were happy. The picture is standard.Exactly the way it looked in 1983 is the way it looks in 2005.After reading some of the articles I could not find anything wrong with the picture or sound that took away from the game.Chalk it up to user error.

The only thing I would fault the gameplay for is the games that require a paddle. If you love to play Pong, Breakout, Super Breakout, Demons To Diamonds, or any other game like those, your PS2 controller does it no justice. The PS2 controller either over or undercompensates your movements so the games are actually twice as hard. However, compared to the number of games you get and the fact that they all work well, I think it's an acceptable tradeoff.I enjoyed this game, and you will too!Your kids, however, will just laugh at you and call you old.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brings Me Back To Simpler Gaming Times...
Five stars for Atari finally bringing out classic games, four for layout of the menus.

The menus may be a bit confusing (The arcade ones are grouped together, but the Atari 2600 games are grouped separately), but shines overall.

While the graphics are a bit dated for today's standards (especially on the PS2), but it brings me back to the times when video games were simpler, had one or a few objectives to complete and didn't require massive polygonal graphics. While some magazines that pertain to gaming say this game (mostly the games that are Atari 2600 versions) should be ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Ulimite Brain Games IS Ulimite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This game is the best it has some of my favorite games. You can pick your oppents level of dificulity! The cool thing about Sink the Ships (Battle Ship) is you shoot more than once at a time so the game goes quicker. The chess gets a little boring because you have to move fromm square to square.Dominoes I love on their it has a level of oppent that I am! Resveri is to hard the only level that I can do is very easy and i am very good at it. Four in a Row is my favorite it has the same rules Connect Four and they make the easiest and hardest levels wihich is good for me because I share it with my brother and he is not very good but I am thats what I like about it.I don't know how to play Backgammon and Mah Jog and the game doesn't give a good discreaption of how to play. Finally, the person desinger rocks I made it to look just like me you can put on just about every little detail you need. It is my favorit e game I ever got!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars An Ideal Collection of Games!
The best thing about this title is the variety of stuff you can play here, and the level of game play. Most of the games offered here have several levels of difficulty and the challenge is good for both kids and adults. The games are fun and varied enough to keep players busy for quite a while.

One cute feature is the face creator, that allows you to make an avatar of yourself, making the game personalized!

The Chess game is challenging, and really would be enough to recommend this title on its own. But add in backgammon, dominoes (which isn't that difficult to figure out once you play it a time or two), mah jong, 4 in a row, which is the board game "Connect 4" and sink ships, a cute version of "Battleship," and you have an excellent title, great for long excursions.

Highly recommended!

Editorial Review

The PlayStation2 takes the Gran Turismo franchise to new heights in thethird edition of the venerable racing series. The graphics are sure to grabyou--the cars and tracks are awe inspiring, and there are some incredible lightingeffects. This game is much more than eye candy, though.

The gameplay in Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec is the same as its predecessors;fans of the previous games will feel right at home, while newcomers will be ableto pick things up easily. There are more than 150 cars from which to choose, andplenty of tracks upon which to race them. Arcade mode works well for a quickfix, while simulation mode provides outstanding replay value. The sound effectsare impressive--each engine has a unique sound, and tire screeches fromdifferent cars sound noticeably different. The soundtrack is a good mix oforiginal compositions and a wide variety of recording artists, including MotleyCrue, Raekwon, Jimi Hendrix, and Snoop Dogg.

One minor flaw with the game is its relatively predictable artificialintelligence. Computer-controlled cars follow distinct lines, and you'll be ableto pick up the patterns after a few races. Considering how far the graphics havecome since the original Gran Turismo, it's disappointing that the AIhasn't progressed similarly. Despite this, GT3 remains an outstandinggame. Few games offer its combination of high quality and immense variety.--Raymond M. Padilla

Pros:

  • Incredible graphics
  • Excellent physics and controls
  • Great soundtrack
Cons:
  • Predictable AI
  • No Porsche or Ferrari licenses

  • Gran Turismo 3 raises the bar for racing games.
  • Using the calculation power of the PlayStation 2, the physics model is identical to that of a real car!
  • Feel the speed as you maneuver through curves and shoot down straight-aways.
  • Environment mapping creates broadcast-quality graphics that blur the line between game and reality.

5-0 out of 5 stars Only GT4 is better!!
The only driving simulator that is better is GT4. If your expecting an easy arcade like racer with Lambo's and dressed up import's go try NFS or some other title. Gran Turismo is the measure by which all racing game's are compared to, and justifable too. Realistic graphic's and physic's are great. Expect to take a lot of time learning to drive. This is not a casual racer. Only two comment's/annoyance's are the music and number of car's. 1. Cars: Or should I say lack of car'
s. I think there were more car's in the original Gran Turismo(not sure I could be wrong). Also I think that more of a variety of car's. After winning the 50th Nissan Skyline(not sold in USA) it get a bit annoying, lol. This is fixed in GT4 so don't worry too much(number of car's). 2.Music: Aside from Lenny Kravitz and Motley Crue the sound is pale in comparison to GT2(The best of Gran turismo soundtracks). This also goes for GT4(apart from Van Halen's-"Panama"). It seem's as if they spent so much time and effort on other area's and music was an afterthought. In the first two (GT and GT2) soundrtack's they were an integril(I know I spelled that wrong, lol)part of the experience. Only serious racer's and car nuts need to apply.

1-0 out of 5 stars I MEAN NO STARS!
This game has bad graphics.
It has sucky cars.
It is so hard to play on different tracks.
The cars dosn't even have a driver in it.

5-0 out of 5 stars The King of All Racing Games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been a fan of Gran Turismo ever since it's debut. The game is so addictive that I have played it for 10 hours straight! The graffics are stunning and the courses are well made. My favorite part about the game is that they brought in F1 racers. I smoke the competition every time I use my 900 horsepowered monster! Over all this game is AWESOME! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Imperial Emperor only has this to say...
He who wishes to fight must first count the cost. When you engage in actual fighting, if victory is long in coming, then men's weapons will grow dull and their ardor will be dampened. If you lay siege to a town, you will exhaust your strength. Again, if the campaign is protracted, the resources of the State will not be equal to the strain. Now, when your weapons are dulled, your ardor dampened, your strength exhausted and your treasure spent, other chieftains will spring up to take advantage of your extremity. Then no man, however wise, will be able to avert the consequences that must ensue... In war, then, let your great object be victory, not lengthy campaigns.

I have only played RTK 7,8, and 9. Out of the three, I enjoy playing this game the most. Why? you may ask, here's why:
1. You can load created characters from RTK 8 and have stats of 100!!! (You can then change the name if desired.)
2. You can have up to 100 created characters in one city to begin with.
3. AI is more difficult
4. Easy to understand tuturial and manual.
That's my top three reasons for this game. I have read many articles relating to this game and have found out so much information about this game, so I have decided to write a story about it. I havent read the book yet. Whenever I have enough time to read over 12000 pages, I'll do it.
I do have a questions that I'm hoping someone will answer.
1. How do you use the "Heal tactic"?
2. Which of the foriegn tribes are the easiest to beat and how?
3. Is it possible to employ Cao Cao?
Basically that's about all the information I can provide. This is my first review, so I hope it helps someone. I do recommend this game to any statedgy lover and all RTK fans (both beginners and vets)
If there is anyone interested in reading what I have writng so far, I will be more than happy to send a copy.
My e-mail address is tashunkawitco@hotmail.com (serious inquirers only)

4-0 out of 5 stars I'm not sure what they are doing...
I will begin by saying I own every game in this series and have beat them all except this one, if you create your own leader and appoint him officers with 99 for every ability you will still get slammed over and over again by the barbarians they attack far to offen and make it impossible to build up your army, you start with roughly 7,ooo men, they start with 3oo,ooo, fair huh? Did i mention that if you defeat their units in the field you CAN'T capture there officers so thety simply suddenly appear back at there castle reload and come right back out, they should have given an option to play without them cause it seroiusly takes away from winning a battle gaining no prisoners, or winning a duel and having the officer suddenly start marching 20,ooo more men at you the next turn, the other regular cities are beatable but as far as i can tell the barbarian require cheating or unlimited man power or a miracle. i can tell in 30 or so hours is that the barbarians only attack YOU never the other cities. I tried creating my city far from them and rather than attack the several cities occupied next to them they march half way across CHINA!!! to attack me and i never even had any dialog or dealing to draw there anger, someone explain that to me... well good luck cause your gonna need it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Possibly the Most Addicting Game Ever
Anyone who thinks this game is boring or something to that degree has obviously not read the book. Romance of the Three Kingdoms IX is easily the most involving, deep and fufilling Romance yet. You start out in the fashion every ROTK and DW does, duking it out in the midst of the Yellow Turban Rebellion. If by chance you have naught the knowledge of this history event, this is the jist of it. In the year 184, the followers of a religious group known as the Way of Peace, was led by their leader Zhang Jiao into battle against the Han Dynasty and He Jin as a revolt against their corrupt ways. You can be Zhang Jiao, you can be He Jin, or you can be both. In fact, you can even make your own, original troop with created officers. Regarless, you feel more like a semi-god than the commander, considering you order all officers at all times, including the commander of your forces.

If you choose Zhang Jiao for this first feud, you're in for a pleasent surprise, your troops greatly outnumber the Han's. If you choose He Jin however, you also have an advanatage but in a different category- officer. With such elite officers as Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Sun Jian, and Cao Cao you may find that as the edge to push you past the superior numbers of the Turbans. Defeat your opponent, whoever they may be, and you win.

Still, throwing a mad-rush and your opponent just won't do if you want to unify China. Draft soldiers to encrease the power of your army, but try only to draft the needed amount or a bit more- it negatively affects you repute. Then, be sure to work up your farming and trade, as well as patrol the city as frequently as possible. If you have rather few cities, it may also be a good idea to purchase food whenever the oppurtunity present itself. Then, if you have excess officers, search around the city with them; there never should be an inactive officer, or, at least there should never be nothing for them to do. Whether you do it or not is your gain or loss. And all that I just said; merely a snapshot of the incredible and involving depth of this game.

Even if you haven't read the book, if you're just looking for an exceptional strategy game this is one of the best. People may have qualms about the graphics, which are far from up to date, but as you play you realize the graphics are easily good enough, and notice the finer points of the games appearence, such as the beautifully drawn officer portraits. For any strategy fan, definately buy this game; even if you haven't read the book or don't know a thing about Chinese history. Though there's something extra knowing you're reliving history, your way. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best PR game than Ninja Storm!
I've played this game before and it turned out awesome! It includes more levels, more Tyrannodrones to beat up, more Dinozords to obtain, and also....Best Megazord fights ever!! You can even connect the Auxillery zords to the Thundersaurus Megazord in any combination or mode you want it to be(example:Thundersaurus Celphala and Dimetro mode and Ankylo and Parasaur mode). This game's even better than the ever popular Ninja Storm video game! And it also brings back memories to the very first Power Rangers series ever made, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers(first season)!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game
This is a Great game for those power ranger lovers...my five year old plays it all the time...I myself have played it and liked it for him... overall its a great entertaining game and they do play as the rangers themselves...each time you pass a part you get to play as another color ranger in the next level. Its a great game unlike the ps2 version of this game which sucks. So stick to the GBA version of this game please. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
I played this game after "Sim's Bustin' Out" which I also loved, because they are a lot alike. This one is just cooler, and has better graphics and a great plot. The original Sim's games have been updated in these to make goal oriented game play, so it's much more interesting. It's really fun, they've come up with a great little game here, one that I am sorry I have won, because I miss it. Now, the manufacturer's review (above) does not seem to correspond with the GBA version, as I don't remember anything about fireworks, or sushi bars, those jobs are not in this game, or perhaps this version, so that's a little misleading, but this game is nonetheless so much fun. I loved it. At first I found it hard in the game to make money, then after taking "classes" at the University I built up the creativity level, then made a ton of money painting and carving wood then selling the art at the local thrift store. If you like graphic adventures, this is a game for you. I think the creators could make so many more Sim's games like this and I'd play every one, if they stick to what's working here.

4-0 out of 5 stars This is the Best ONe yet!
I am so shocked that this game is so great! i was addicted, my parents couldn't even pry me away from it! I think that it was so much better!

Pro's:

Cons:

Eats up time

I loved this game!!! great investment of hard earned money!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good...
Ok, I thought this game was pretty good. But hey, I was only eight when I got it. I've seen alot of people saying it stinks. Most of these people are allowed to Ratchet and Clank. I've never played it. I'll put it in specific terms: if you aren't allowed to play alot of T games, this game rocks.
Pros: Awesome graphics
Cons: Too short

1-0 out of 5 stars Boredom beyond our deepest nightmares...
...also known as Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legasy. This game is all about running around a silly free roaming 3D world while beating up repeative enemies you have seen 15646 billion times earlier and collecting tons of crap. I got this game a loooooong time ago. It was fun at first, but then came the titles that could exterminate this game: Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet2, Ratchet3, Jak II, Jak3, Sly Cooper, Sly2, The Urbz, Sonic Heroes... the list is long. Now lets talk about the game's features:

Pros.
Okay graphics.
Cool scenery.
Free-roaming action adventure.

Cons.
Crap voices.
Insanely boring missions.
Veeeryy repeative combat.
Only 3, count them THREE bosses!!!
Soon gets annoying and frustrating.
Sooooo easy.
Very short.
Zilch replay value.
Jak is a MUTE!
Doesnt even compare to Crash Bandicoot.
Stupid music.
Almost every mission involves some Eco boredom.
Zoomer missions are frustrating.

Now see: 3 pros and... about... 13 cons.
That means this game is just a smelly good-for-nothing excuse of an game. I dont play this game anymore, it just collects dust while I entertain myself with REAL titles. They are too many to count so I wont count them.

Graphics: 6.5
Sound: 3.0
Gameplay: 4.7
Replay Value: 1.5
Fun: 2.0
Overall: 1.0

Final Verdict:
THIS GAME SUCKS!
Avoid it, run away from it, stay away from it, whatever, just do not, I repeat: DO NOT BUY IT!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars all about jak an daxter
I praise the good lord that I only rented this game for 7 nights. To be honest it didn't 4 nights. The game is toooo easy and simple. On top of that it is tooooo short. However it was fun for the short 4 nights that I had it. Naughty dog used to the good games like Crash Team Racing and Crash 2 my favorite out of the first three. But this junk errr game or game wanabee is just the example of how good companies can screw up BIG time. The one time I about it is the hoverbike but that is about it. So go out and get a real game like Spyro the dragon:Year of the Dragon which should be cheaper and better than this junk. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not great but certainly worth the price tag
First off for the record i can't get enough of Poker, and this game for the most part is exactly what i wanted in a PS2 game. I don't plan on playing this online (lets face it there are alot of better online options then any console game could ever deliver) but as an at home single player game it's certainly a solid game.

The game does have a couple problems which keeps it from a better score though. Most importantly the computer controlled characters can be a little predictable (very few real players check as often as the A.I. does in the game) and i wish there were alot more options for types of games such as five card draw.

However despite those problems there is much to like such as the huge 60-100 person tournaments and the ability to track your long term success and build a bankroll.

A great practice tool for the beginner or the more experienced player and a nice relaxing change of pace from alot of the other games i enjoy playing.

If you love poker how can you really go wrong for $20?

1-0 out of 5 stars A Waste of Money!!!!!!
This game is a great How to Play learning guide because of the variety of Poker Games available but let's face it. Everybody is playing hold em these days. The offline play is horrible on it's most difficult setting. The play of the AI will never make since. The only place to have fun with this game is online and that has continued to do nonthing but get worse. I've completely stop playing this game there are just too many other free options that move alot quicker and it's easier to get games started. Setting up a game or finding a game to play in is by far the most difficult task and I'm almost never successful setting up one online, I'm always joining someone else game and sit & go's are never available. This game has a ton of potential should they choose to make another version for next it could be great. Possibly ad some multiple table options made be just what they need to do make hosting and joining games easier. They need to look at their internet competition and beat them. Online is where it's at for real gamers of any sort and this games online interface is horrible. Not to mention win you bust a player an a high limit the player simply shut's off his machine as not to lose the money he's played on choosing to record his positive earnings. There's no way to make people play the game the right or sort the good player from the bad player by virtue of their bank roll. Ex. You start a game with $100,000 and lose it, just turn off the game reload your character and bame theirs your money. This pronblem wrecks the gameplay not to mention what happens when that person is the host if the server doesn't migrate correctly then the entire game is fragged.

This review: was inspired by a review written on gamespot where the writer praised the online play. I was so appauled that I had to write a response everywhere I thought it counted. While you can find a game online with WCP alot of the time you are playing somene else's.

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid Game - If you like Poker
If you like Poker and the different variations then you will most likely enjoy this game. The customization of your character is pretty detailed and a nice touch.Other reviews have stated the game is too slow, I have not found this to be true.I would say the pacing is just about right.By tapping the X button you can move things along if you are out of a hand. Sit and Go games and tournaments are fun.Only gripe I could come up with(this is a amatuer level) is that computer player checks too much, keeping me in hands longer than I should if I am fishing for a card.A raise might have forced me out.Maybe at the pro level it is more agressive. Do not play online but I can guess it would be fun, but if just playing at home I still recommend. If you are trying to satisfy your poker jones this is a good start. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The older DK with better graphics
This game is really fun with good graphics. It is like the older one but with more stuff and different story line. Instead of saving Peach you save these Mini Mario Toys from Donkey Kong. The levels are challenging for people who aren't hard core gamers. Gamers might think it to easy. I'm enbetween and I enjoy playing it.

3-0 out of 5 stars It was nice... I guess
Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a nice game, nothing really special. I've played better Mario games in the past. The game play was okay and the game itself gets boring after a while. I don't own the game myself (I've only played it from my older brother). But, I wouldn't really recommend it if you're really looking for one of those pick up and play games.
