5-0 out of 5 stars This phone is a great toy!
I don't understrand everyones comments on not being able to hear the phone once the plastic thing in the back is removed.I really wanted this toy to go with my daughters laugh and learn home so I went to the store to look at it anyway to see what all the fuss was about. So at the store I reached behind the phone and ripped out the plastic thing and it sounds fine to me. It is plenty loud enough. So I bought it and my 9 month old daughter loves it.I don't know maybe fisher price has improved the product or something but mine is plenty loud enough.

5-0 out of 5 stars How I solved the volume issue.
I liked this toy for my 8 month old because it relates the pushed buttons (number or alphabet depending on the play mode) by visually showing them on the screen and audio ably saying them as there are shown; I thought what a great teaching tool. When I got it home and opened I noticed the volume was not as loud as it was in the store, I thought it was broken. I was considering returning it, until I realized a manufacture's pull tab (located in the back beside the screw to open the battery door) had been automatically removed and decreased the volume. I simply reinserted the tab, cut off the excess and taped up the opening. If you've already thrown away the tab anything you can make a 1½" to 2" long thin plastic strip from will work. Since I bought this for its visual effects I don't consider it a hold to her ear toy and I won't encourage her to use it that way, if as she gets older it becomes a problem, I'll re-adjust the volume. But for now my solution works for us.

2-0 out of 5 stars Definetly not loud enough!
I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old. They both like the phone but lose interest pretty quickly. Because they can't hear anything the phone is saying. I think they would play with it more if the volume was louder. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars My Son Loves Most of This Toy
My son, who is 17 months old now, has owned this since he was 10 months, he picked it out at the store. He has played with it at least every other day for the last 7 months. But he doesn't play with the "rings" he plays with the base and the balls. He loves to put the balls in the top and hear the music, then they roll out of the front where he can pull open the door and they roll out. He has never liked the "rings", except to wear them on his feet and arms.

5-0 out of 5 stars Instant hit with my daughter!
I heard about this toy from a parenting magazine review... and to tell you the truth was a bit sceptical about all the raving. But, when I saw it in a store, I was sold. It soft and colorful. The music is not too loud. The balls and rings are a perfect size for little hands to grab.

My 7 month daughter loved it the moment she saw it. There are so many ways she can play with it. And the toy will definitely grow with her. I thought it was so good, I am going to uy another one for my friend's baby.

5-0 out of 5 stars Therapists love it!
My son gets weekly developmental and occupational therapy to help with his delayed motor skills, and his occupational therapist brought this toy to his last appointment.

He absolutely LOVED it, and I think it is really cool since there are so many different things he can do, and it is really a long term toy! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great toy!
I received this activity center at my baby shower for my daughter. It was a total surprise since I hadn't asked for one.I am so glad that I received this center!

My daughter started to play with this at 11 months old.She absolutely loved it.The music was perfect for her - not too loud or too soft.Except for 1 piece that the child is supposed to lift up (too hard to do even for a mommy!), the movable parts are great.

We never put this toy into her crib so I can't say whether or not it's appropriate. We played with this in the mornings as part of her routine. She really enjoyed it & missed it when I finally donated it to another baby.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute toy
My daughter received this as a gift and loves it.She often plays with it in her crib and every few months, we flip sides so she does not get bored.I wish the side for the older kids had more "activity" type toys rather than mostly music.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it!
I bought this for my daughter when she was just a few months old and she absolutely loves it.We have not used it as a crib toy, only on the floor. This way it is easier to flip from side to side and take advantage of both sides. She loves the spinning toys on one side and pop up critter on the other.Highly recommend it! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Baby Loves It!
I picked this book up in a desperate attempt to entertain my 10 month old baby on long road trips. He is a big paper eater, so even board books can't withstand his gnawing. This book definately did the trick. He can bite on it all he wants and it looks as good as new. After five months, my 15 mo old still loves this book and it's a big hit at playgroup.

5-0 out of 5 stars A fun book for a musical child
My 9-month-old daughter was entranced with this book when we showed it to her in the store, and so we had to buy it.It has kept her entertained in the car on many road trips and even at home.It was her favorite toy for a long time. She would rock and bob her head to the nursury rhyme songs. She loved pushing the buttons to make things go.She learned "star" from this book, and to "moo" like the cow.She points at the pictures of dogs and cats. She is now 15 months old and though it is no longer the favorite toy, she still enjoys playing with it.

The book is educational in that it rewards pushing buttons, sliding switches, and turning pages with noises and songs. If your child likes musical toys, she or he would like this toy.As a parent, I did not find this to be very annoying. The music was catchy and the little voice of the person singing was cute. The book asks questions ("where is the cow?") to prompt baby to point or push buttons or say the answer. It takes AA batteries, and ours have lasted a long time (only being replaced once in 6 months), despite a lot of play time.

Your baby will love it!

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute and durable
My son got this as a gift for his 1st birthday and he loves the way the book lights up and reads to him.The interaction is great because he can play with the peices in the story.I love that the plastic is so durable. He has other baby books that just don't pass the test.

My only gripe is that there is no "off" switch and that can be annoying. It automatically shuts off after a while but if the button on the front cover gets pressed or the book wasn't closed, you can accidently start it up.Happens all the time in the baby bag. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great first "pet"...
This turtle is wonderful. It has gotten us through many restaurants and car rides. My son has just loved his turtle.Buy a few for shower gifts while it is on sale.It is is great for tummy time of course but it is also a great toy that keeps my son's interest when others do not.Just an all around great toy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Deal
This toy is very entertaining for my little girl at a great price! She is 5 1/2 months old now and has been playing with this toy for a few months now.Even when she hated tummy time she would stand it for a few minutes and try to look at herself in the mirror. Now that she can roll over onto her belly on her own, she loves tummy time and this is one of her favorite toys for it.She will try to scoot around the floor and follow it if it starts to move away from her and is very amused with the baby in the mirror. For some reason, even when she was tiny and I would just show it to her when she was laying down, her favorite part has always been the turtles smiling face.

5-0 out of 5 stars So Adorable
After reading other reviews, this was one thing I picked as a present from my husband's parents. The mirror really is very clear, and I just love how cute it is.(I haven't had my baby yet, so I can't comment on whether the baby will like it, I can comment on that when the time comes). ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars We love Lotty
Lotty was a gift from Santa to our 3 month old baby girl. She loves her.The antennae are absolutely mesmerizing. If we can't find a toy to make her smile then Lotty always does the trick. She is almost 5 months old and is still her favorite. One of the best toys we have received.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lil LOVES Lotty!
Santa brought our (then) 5 month old Lotty for Christmas. She absolutely LOVES Lotty! The antennae must be magical because that's the first thing she reached for and of course put in her mouth. Even when she's fussy, you can put Lotty on her tummy and give her kisses and she smiles and grabs the antennae and starts to play. She also likes to look at herself in the mirror on Lotty's tummy. I would definitely recommend Lotty to anyone looking for a lovable and entertaining toy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't leave the house without Lotty!!
My five month old daughter loves Lotty!! We lay Lotty on my daughters tummy and she can sit and play for a long period of time. She loves to play with the antenna and put them in her mouth. The front leg plays "You are my Sunshine" and the other legs have rattles or squeakers in them. It is the cutest toy. I highly recommend it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great gift
My daughter recieved this for her first Birthday. She loved it and still does. It's one of the few toys that will actually hold her interest for more than a few seconds. Its great! The best part of the whole toy is that she can actually push the lever herself.I've found that a lot of toys are too hard for her to push or pull or whatever.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just like "the real grocerystore machine"
My kids always loved those machines at the grocerystore and love all the things that can come out of them, so we bought this for them while they play grocery store and for my younger ones to have fun with, (6 1/2 month old twin boys and 3 y.o twin b/g at the time)

You put about 4-6 peek-a-rounds in WIDE top so your little ones hands can easily fit without poseing a hazzard (hard candy, ring, teddy bear, and a lolly-pop come with them, some of them also make a little rattle when you shake them, and added bonus) and then push the blue lever to get one out, (randomly) and while they roll through the swirly slide in the clear dome shaped base (clear so you can see them go through) it plays a cute little song and some lights flash. If you dont want the music (its not too annoying but just if you dont want it) you can still play without batteries and the lever still makes them come out. It ends up at the base and you just put them in again. We have not had a huge problem with it falling over, all toys do, but I really wouldnt recomend this for pulling up.The yellow handle is one of my now 8 month old boys favorites because it makes one of those cranking noises, its not hollow, maybe they fixed it? But my 3 year olds LOVE guessing what will come out and seeing if their right! (surprize aspect like the "real gumball machine!). The little face on the top is also very cute. We all love it and its also great for pretend "grocery store" play! It teaches cause and effect and has a little imagination to it!
You can also buy more peek-a-rounds (or roll-a-rounds) which add more fun and also as backup incase you loose some!

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun
I got this for my seven-month old and he immediately loved it.It took him no time to learn how to press the blue handle down and get one of the peek-a-rounds gumballs to come out.The top only has room for four or five of the peek-a-rounds (it comes with four:teddy bear, candy, lollipop and ring), so I had to stand by and continuously put more on the top as he pressed the handle.Whenever the handle is pressed, the gumball machine plays a short tune.It also has a switch to turn the songs off or control the volume. There is a yellow turn handle at the front that makes a clicking noise when turned. My son really likes that too.One reviewer said this handle was hollow and dangerous.Mine is not hollow, so perhaps it was changed (for the better!).One thing I don't like about this toy is that it doesn't have a very solid base; my son easily, and frequently tips it over. That doesn't seem to detract from his fun though. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy
Baby Jordan got this tow for christmas when he was just two months old, now it is his favourite. He can sleep with it and he now knows how to make it play.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love the caterpillar!!!
My son has been watching the Baby Einstein DVDs since he was 7 weeks old.He absolutely goes crazy when the caterpillar appears on screen..he laughs and kickcs like crazy in his swing. The caterpillar toy is great for reinforcing things he's learning about. He just loves it!Plus, between the DVDs and the toy it gives me a little time to straighten up=)

1-0 out of 5 stars Confusion
I bought this toy for my 4month old.I thought that it would be a great toy for him to learn shapes, colors, and animals. The only problem is that the purple section of the caterpillar says that the color is orange. This will definetly confuse my little one when he is able to learn things. Please don't buy this item.Only buy it if you want a confused child in life. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars 9 month old having a great time with this
My baby clearly isn't bowling yet, but is having a great time knocking these down with her hands and shaking them to hear the different sounds. If we set them up on the sofa across the room she will cruise/crawl to them in order to know them over and pick them up and shake them. The ball is a good size for her hands, and also makes noise.I suppose when she's older we'll eventually get to the bowling aspect.

5-0 out of 5 stars So darn cute!
My 19 month-old son got this as a gift from his great-grandmother.In the three weeks since it arrived at the house, he has been walking around with one or more of the pins under his arm.He takes them to bed with him and I can hear him over the monitor making kissing noises with them.Suffice it to say, he LOVES it.My 5 month-old is starting to love it as well (especially the cow).I would recommend it for any baby or toddler, especially an affectionate one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Cute
When I saw this bowling set in the store I just had to buy it for my 14 month old daughter. We have had it for three days and she just got the hang of rolling the ball to knock over the pins. The ball and pins are so soft; I think this toy would be appropriate for a younger baby too. The pins are numbered so this toy will be great when she starts learning her numbers. I can see her using this toy for at least another year. I would recommend this toy for anyone with a child under 2. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Welcome Baby to the brave new world of interactive books with this LeapPad-styled talking picture book system. As with regular books, grownups will want to introduce their tots to the concept, sitting together at first and pointing out pictures and words. Soon they can advance to the interactive part: touching words, objects, holes, icons, or textured spots on the pages to hear descriptive phrases, music, words identified, and fun sounds. More than 100 songs can be heard, and with the purchase of additional stories and cartridges, the opportunities for fun learning are endless. The Baby Animals book (included) is simple and colorful, with recognizable critters in their own settings. The system allows three modes to play: Story, Explore, and Surprise. Let Baby’s fingers do the exploring! Four AA batteries required (not included). --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Annoying Toy of the Year
I bought Power Touch Baby for my little girl when she was 13 months old.We have all of her toys in our living room for supervising purposes. The PTB drove us insane! It repeats its self over and over, it will change what it is saying mid-word if a different object is touched(I don't think we ever heard it say a complete sentence), the book falls out, and even though the PTB has never been banged around, it will still get "stuck" on a word for no reason. It needs an award for the Annoying Toy of the Year and should be sold along with a hammer to destroy it with.

4-0 out of 5 stars cute toy, but.....
I bought this for my daughter's 1st birthday. I agree with the other reviews that the book is not secure and my daughter always pulls it out. I wish I would have waited to buy this toy. If your child is still slapping things and not pointing yet, you should wait. My daughter slappes the book and all the noises go off at once(very annoying and fustrating). But, I will not say this is a terrible toy. It's really cute and educational. I'm just going to wait a couple more months before I try using it with my daughter again, and I'm sure she'll love it!! :)

5-0 out of 5 stars so easy to use!
My daughter recieved this as a present, and I wish I had gotten it sooner. We had gotten a leapfrog a year ago, and she never liked it.After struggling with the leapfrog system, it was so pleasant to have a simple system where the pages are recognized automatically and she can put the book in and out by herself. The leapfrog is going into the closet! ... I bought this for my 8 week old to enjoy and she does she bats at the toys watches herself in the mirror and coos to the music. sometimes its a little overstimulating for her and the only part i have problems with is when she kicks her legs she hits the green foot bar wich causes her to push the toy away. but this could be fixed by placeing it against a wall or holding it. the best part is that my 3 year old and 2 year old enjoy this toy as well and its sturdy so i dont have to worry about them breaking it. i also found it easy to asemble had it together in 5 minutes. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars One of my son's favorites
My son is 19 months old. He started enjoying the LT Leappad in the last two months. His favorite book is "If I Were..."

This book shows different animals--horse, elephant, lion, and bear. If you push on, for example the lion it will make the lion noise: Roar. We have so much fun with this book because DS loves pushing an animal to hear the sound. Then he sometimes repeats the sound.

This book, along with the Baby Word Book. has justified the expense of buying the Little Touch Leappad because we have enjoyed these two books so much. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Mainly Just Tells the Story
It's great if you just want your child to hear a story, but it's not as educational and exciting as all of the other Littletouch books.

5-0 out of 5 stars Aggravating
I'm in agreement with the woman who found frustration over her granddaughter's book. I once bought my grandson a set of guitar strings for his birthday. Well, apparently you have to ALSO get a guitar in order for these things to work. Very aggravating to say the least.

By the way, this is a fine product.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not enjoyable for my 19 mo old son
We got Little Touch Leappad for DS's first birthday and he is now 19 mos old. His favorite book is "If I were.." because he likes the pictures of the animals and the animal sounds.
HOWEVER, he doesn't like "Guess How Much I Love You" at all because it doesn't hold his attention. I think it was a waste of money.
Basically "Guess How Much I Love You" is the same as the regular story book of the same name. Leapfrog added sounds, of course, but the don't fit in well with the pictures. The focus is on instruments and the sounds they make.
If you have a small six month old baby, then this is the book you should buy because it the gentlest of the Leappad books. However, for a toddler, it is just too dull. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars very cute, but the music is too loud
My 1-year-old daughter loves this "baby".I had one of these as a kid, and it was almost impossible to turn on, but this one turns on very easily when she hugs it.She also seems to really like the music.

The only thing I don't like is that the music is too loud.If she accidentally turns it on in her sleep, it's loud enough to wake her back up.So while it's an adorable toy, I wouldn't recommend it for bedtime.

4-0 out of 5 stars Glo-ee - We Love It!
My daughter loves the Gloworm.I like the fact that it is small enough for my 11 month old to hold herself. It seems smaller than the older Gloworm that I remember.Sadie loves the light and the music. She has finally figured out how to turn the music on by herself. It is so cute to see her get so excited when Glo-ee shows up.She hugs the doll so tightly.

It is nice that the toy has different switches - one for the light by itself and one for both lights and music.I wish there was just an on/off switch because, when the batteries start running out, the worm makes weird sounds!

I also like the fact that the inside mechanism can be removed and the doll itself can be washed - even in the machine, which I consider a bonus.

My only criticism would be that the toy is very draining on batteries. We are on our third set in less than a month, and that includes cheap as well as expensive batteries.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good choice for the price
My 9 month old daughter just received this toy as a gift. At first it doesn't look like much, but it turns out to be pretty entertaining. She likes the music ( which may I add is easily achieved by pusing lightly anywhere on the stomach) and how the head lights up too! Overall, for the price this is a great toy! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My 3 year old still plays with this toy!
I bought this toy for my daughter when she was a year old and she immediately took to it.She loved pressing the keys and looking at herself in the mirror. It's two years later and she still plays with it regularly. Now she likes turning the lights off and seeing the light bar around the mirror light up to the sound of the tunes. She also likes hearing the different musical instruments and singing to the tunes. It's held up very well.It doesn't look new, but it also doesn't look beat up either.Even though she knows all her shapes, she still likes pressing the keys and hearing how the shape's name is pronounced. Also, it shuts off by itself if not in use and the batteries last an extremely long time (I think I've only changed them once in two years).

There might be two minuses, though they don't bother me in the least. If your child likes kissing his/her reflection, expect to clean the mirror regularly. Also, some people might think it might be a little loud, though compared to some toys, and in my opinion, the volume is not that bad at all.

All in all, I would recommend this toy for parents of infants who want something durable and will keep their child's interest for years to come.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy!!!!!
I bought this toy for my daughter when she was 4 months old.She loved it!!It has a wide variety of songs and the mirror is very entertaining for little ones. She is now 13 months old and still plays with it.This is one toy she hasn't lost interest in!!
Strongly Recomend!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy!!
My son got this when he was four months old.At that age, he liked to watch us play it for him, but at five months he started playing with it himself. The keys are easy for him to press and he really likes looking at himself in the mirror.

There are three different learning modes (colors and shapes, songs, and free play). There are also four different instruments to choose from (banjo, flute, sax and piano). Each instrument plays several different songs which are selected by pressing the instrument buttons surrounding the mirror. The mirror has four flashing red light bars around it that light up when the keys are pressed.

The only complaint I have with this toy is the volume. As with some other Leap Frog toys we own, the sound is too loud on the lowest setting. The speaker is on the upper left side and I find it easy to hold my palm over it to lower the volume when I am helping play with the toy, but I am considering putting some tape over the speaker for times that my palm is not available. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Cute for the little ones
Althought the little touch books aren't that durable, this is a good one for the younger set.My 15 month old son likes looking at the baby faces. He really only likes one page so far that shows babies emotions, but that's ok.He isn't really interested in too many of the other little touch books, so one page is ok.

4-0 out of 5 stars great idea
I love the book and the way it reads to you, but the age group is off. at 6 months and now at 14 months my son just trys to tear it up. he does love the noices though. maybe he will be ready for it a little later on.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very well done
This book has pages with emotions, good-night items, body parts, musical instruments.Leapfrog did a good job with it--for example on the "emotions" page, you can hear the IF YOU'RE HAPPY AND YOU KNOW IT song with each of the emotions. It is a sweet little book.

One warning:If you buying the book for the Spanish, I have to say that it is not really bilingual. It gives only the names of the objects in Spanish, but then it switches over to English. There are no activities or songs in Spanish. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars nice
my daughter pulled this thing around FOREVER!!- its nice cause it has wheels andtalks to her

3-0 out of 5 stars This is...
This phone is the best toy I have ever observed, and yet at the very same time, the worst.I love it, but then again I hate it.I need it, but also I could do without it.It's as if this phone is a delicate flower, blossoming in my mind, as I decide whether it is good or bad. It's like a waffle, burning in the waffle iron, as I ponder on this most chillingly perplexing item.I feel as if I just want to hug this phone, and then smash it to the ground.Thank you for listening to my most interesting quandry.

2-0 out of 5 stars Eh...
I'm disspointed, I thought this was going to be a big hit.I was wrong. Here are a sampling of my problems with this toy:

1. The handle doesn't stay on the base well.

2. The cord is too short (granted this is probably a mandatory safety issue so we can't hold the manufacturer responsible), so your head has to be very akwardly close to the base to "talk" into the receiver.

3. It's on wheels but can't be pulled by the phone handle b/c that comes out of the side, and again is fairly short.

4. In voice (versus music) mode, it says the number you press than beeps; if you press a series of numbers, i.e. 1, 2, 3, it will say those numbers as you press them without beeping inbetween - but if you press the same number twice in a row it will not repeat the number, it will just go on finishing the appropriate number of beeps - so... the child can't practice dialing numbers since many real phone numbers have the same number in repetition such as 555-1234 (it would say 5 and beep 5 times even as you press the 5 key twice more).

5. The button to make the dog holding the phone pop up is hard for little children to press (have to press hard to work).

6. My son has had this from about 6 months to now 20 months and it RARELY gets played with.We rotate toys so he's not overwhelmed with choices, but I've always kept this one in the mix and he almost never plays with it.So, above all my complaints, the fact is that the child just doesn't think it fun enough to play with. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun.
This is a great toy. It packs a lot of textures, colors, and features into one item that's easy to transport; and it smiles while doing so. My 10-month-old loves it, right down to the little ribbons on top of the head. Oh, and the head squeaks when you squeeze it. What more could a kid want?

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Baby Toy!
This is a very well designed toy. Our 6 month old loves all the colors and textures. She plays with the Octivity Time every day. It's great because she likes everything from the little ribbons to the attached teether and rings. This is a great toy to take along on outings because of all the diverse activities it provides.

4-0 out of 5 stars 4 month old and toddler love it alike!
We just purchaced this toy and they both seem to love it! The fun textures and color paterns are a bit hit! I think that the spinning star is a bit dificult for a child under one to figure out, but like I said great for older siblings! I've found that most lamaze toys really do grow with your child. I just found my two year old cradling the monkey lamaze makes and pushing her in her buggy! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining but brief
My daughter has loved this mobile since about 5 weeks old.Her very first smiles came with this mobile! We have it perched over her changing table, and I'd actually put her down there to take pictures of her because I knew I'd get a nice big smile. The downside is that it only plays for a short period of time and you have to wind it up, but it was well worth it for us.The changing table setting was perfect because it would be winding down at about the same time that we finished up with the diaper change, and she was happy/entertained the whole time.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not a good Mobile
This mobile looks good but that's about all. The song didn't play for very long and the mobile doesn't turn. It wasn't entertaing for my little one at all!

1-0 out of 5 stars Fun, but worth it?
I love the look of this and so does my newborn daugher.I think that the price is a bit ridiculous because it IS a wind-up that doesn't last very long at all.I would really think it worth the asking price if it took batteries so that it could last longer or had a remote to keep turning it back on.Additionally, we have not used it very frequently (a dozen times or so?) and for some reason it has just stopped rotating. We had previously had the Symphony in Motion by Tiny Love.I think that is a much better mobile. ...
