3-0 out of 5 stars pops too soon
i would not reccomend putting this in front of someone who has heart problems because the "pop" feature really works

2-0 out of 5 stars Well, its ok, but its not that loud
I bought this for my son, not from TRU but from a shop on Main street. My son never really was interested it b/c it was so low in sound that it wouldn't keep his attention. I'm not sure if it was the product or the place i purchased it, but I do think it should have been at least a little louder! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Dangerous
Within 3 days of purchase my 12 month daughter was able to pull of one of the bears very easily, which exposed a sharp metal screw.

2-0 out of 5 stars The loudst toy in the house
We recieved this toy for christmas for our 1 1/2 year old. She likes it but it is so LOUD that I usually turn it off as soon as she walks away and then put it in the toy box. No volume switch. Mind you toys don't usually bother me. she has lots of things that play music. But I don't like this one very much.

3-0 out of 5 stars LOUD!!
Overall this is a good toy.My one year old got it for her birthday. She loves to push the keys and watch the bears dance. The biggest drawback is that is is LOUD!There is not a volume switch. ... Read more

Editorial Review

With a little help from a bigger friend (parent, guardian…), young children can launch into the world of learning via interactive books. Little Touch LeapPad is designed for tots 6 to 36 months, with three distinct levels of activities and stories: musical rhythms and sounds; short descriptive phrases; and rhymes and early learning. Stories or activity cards snap into the book frame, along with a story cartridge. Grownups will need to help little ones activate the book pages by touching the "Go" button every time a page is turned, as well as showing young "readers" how to touch pictures to make them come to life with developmentally appropriate narration and learning activities. A comfy cushion is attached to the LeapPad platform for cozy shared reading time. Four AA batteries required (not included). --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Too young of a rating
This item has the potential to be a great learning tool, but when my daughter received this for her first birthday the age rating was 6-36 months, being 12 months the person giving this gift to her thought it was perfect, the book asked her to point out the house.....a6-12 month old cant do this, the gift is practially useless until shes older.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy, Durable, my Daughter loves it!
My daughter got this for Christmas when she was 6 months old.Of course it is meant to be a toy where the parents sit and play together with the baby.My daughter really fell in love with this toy around the same time that she actively started loving her regular books. My daughter is now 21 months old and can activate the touch pad by pushing it herself. But she was not able to push and activate it until she was maybe 18 months...somewhere around in there...I can't remember exactly when...but around that time frame. But she has always loved this toy because it was something that we did together. She loves the animal World book, Let's get busy Baby, and she especially loves the A to Z adventure book.I think these are the best for the smaller babies and toddlers..they hold there interest more.A to Z is probably better once they start learning there letters.(I bought the Leap Frog Letter Factory movie for my daughter at 18 months and she knows ALL of her letter soounds.Seriously...she loves that moive and now she loves any toy with the A,B,C's)

My daughter will always go run and grab this toy and bring it to me to help her with and we read it together. If you have a child that loves to read books, they will love this.Books were meant to be something that you do together with your small child anyway..I just view it as another book to share with my child. But it is more fun because it is more interactive!

If you are the type of parent that activly plays with your children through the day then you and your kids will love this toy.If you want your kids to play alone without your help then I would wait and get this toy when the child is 2-3 years old when they will be better able play by themselves. But by then they can get the My First Leap pad and it has the pen which the kids love!I'm getting the My First Leap pad for my daughter at age 2-2.5 either birthday or Christmas.I may wait until Christmas when she will be 2.5 because I have so many other Outside play things that I want to get her this summer.

Oh..the pages are very durable. The little ones can not tare them. They can crinkle them up a little bit, but they alwasy lay back flat. The pages look thin and they look like regular paper, but they are not!The kids can't rip the pages!

1-0 out of 5 stars Not great
It doesn't hold my childs attention. Not to mention the buttons are hard to push.If the pages are lying perfectly flat (they are kind of a waxy paper), they don't push the right button. Also, the button that changes the level is right in the book, it should be on the back or side of the machine, baby pushes the button and its changes level. We are constantly changing it back.We have gone through two children with it, and found it to be the same with both. We have many other LeapPad products, including the My First, and the original LeapPad...the others are great. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Save your $$$$
My daughter received this as a gift for her 1st birthday. She did enjoy the music as most do at her age however as stated in an earlier review the toy is not suitable for young children. My daughter could not operate it on her own at all and even I had trouble with it several times.Unfortunatley I eventually just threw it away instead of passing it on to a friend or good will as I do with most other toys. Not recommended.

1-0 out of 5 stars Injury Potential
I bought this for my 15 mos. old for Christmas. You have to wind up the music by a knob on the bottom. The white button you push to make the bear pop up is not easy for tiny hands or fingers. The lid requires strong hands to push it closed. Two days ago, while the music was playing and the bear was spinning around, she tried to push the bear down, without using the lid. I heard her cry out and saw she had pushed with her index finger at the base of the bear and her finger had become stuck between the round base and the area where the bear slides down into. Since the lid was open, the mechanics of the toy was forcing the bear to stay up and try to spin, and since her finger was caught, she could not and did not know to push the bear down again to remove her finger. Her fingertip was pretty red for a couple of hours, even though it was only caught for a second. This toy should be removed from the market since the potential for such a painful and possible serious injury exists. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Sawzilla!!
A friend back in Maryland introduced me to Little Tikes tools in '83, and I've wanted one of their circular saws for years. I've owned Mattell (lucky sale price), but this is the saw I always wanted. Finally settled in here and my wife made this a late Christmas present. I was just floored when it showed up. Best present I've ever received =)

I read the manual fully and unpacked the saw slowly. No damage in shipping to the saw carton or pallet. The box had been dropped (it's heavy) and the moulded packing foam was broken, but the casing and blade were pristine. Gentle wipe down to remove the cosmoline and an initial inspection revealed no damaged or missing parts. Followed the assembly procedure in the manual - a breeze.

After setting up the saw, installing a Freud 40 tooth and running a 240v drop for it, we fired this mean green machine up - she purred to life - no whines, grinds, chatters or bangs. We got bold and balanced a penny and a nickel on edge and fired her back up - they barely twitched. I ran her through some wood I had on hand - a little MDF, a little Doug Fir, A scrap of Wallynut, chunk of Oak - zip zip zip cut cut cut zing zing zing - only there was no Ziiiiinnnnggggg! It was Q-U-I-E-T - it just hummed! I could speak in normal tones and I could hear my wife (who is very soft spoken) over the saw! Aaaaa-Maaaaa-Zing! I was used to the noisy whine of the Mattell I'd owned. So was my wife - this was a truly pleasant surprise. My neighbors won't mind this saw =) To be fair - I will blame the saw AND the blade (Nice blade at about a dollar a tooth).

The Little Tikes cuts through everything easily. The motor is three horses and meets my needs. There were no tweaks required. It is satisfyingly solid. The blade & mitre stay set (again the stops were dead on), the action is smooth. It's not a fancy Mitre, mind you - but it is Functional - and that counts.

Little Tikes will not disappoint you - I know this ain't no big fancy-schmancy sliding doo-dad cabinet table-saw beastie costing thousands - but it gets the job done very nicely, very quietly.Any tool one's spouse is PLEASED to have purchased has a lot going for it.

Did I mention I love this saw?

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute, but noisey.
This is a nice toy except the sound it makes can drive you crazy after about 5 minutes. Thank goodness it has a on/off switch or I'd have to hide it from my 10 month old. The "blade" part spins nicely, there's a lever that cranks back and forth, and lights flash with silly sounds when it's turned on. There are numbers on it, but I don't see that helping my son learn anything. It seems pretty durable enough, considering my son has dropped from his highchair a few times. My son has no idea what a saw is, so he just chews on it at this point. Sometimes he'll roll it across the floor. Maybe when he's older, he'll have more fun with it. So, to sum it up, it's an cute toy if you can handle the crazy noises it makes.

2-0 out of 5 stars Grandparent's revenge
My son's grandparents gave him this horribly NOISY thing! It creates the same LONG annoying "chainsaw" noises continuously. It's highly motion sensitive and the worst thing is there is no volume control! His grandparents just laugh and say it's their revenge for all my noisy toys.Save your sanity - run away from this toy! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very sturdy and lovely toy
This is a lovely toy. It is sturdy and has been in the crib of all three of my children. The batteries last a long time. It has been on road trips with us and has worked well. It plays calming music and has lovely 'show' on the ceiling.

Well worth the money.
Enjoy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for road trips!
We attached this toy to the headrest right behind my 2 month old son's carseat so we could travel at night. He loved watching it! There are 2 adjustable straps on the back so the toy will hang securely back there. Luckily I have an older son to wind it back up for him.

5-0 out of 5 stars Keeps son happy at bed time
My son loves this toy!We got it when he was 2 months old and he loved it then, and he still loves it two months later. He gets two light shows every night, and he is almost always asleep by the end of the second light show.I would buy this again, and give it as a gift. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy for road trips, completely safe
I got a previous version of one of these for my daughter as a gift.I was skeptical, but amazed at the calming effect it had during our 9 hour road trips to visit family.I pulled it out years later for my son and just lost it in a rental car switch.I am very eager to get a new one.I highly recommend it.My children are road warriors and this makes the trip more pleasant for us all.

4-0 out of 5 stars It doesn't go ON the baby seat!!
To the person who wrote the review about this being unsafe. This toy goes around the headrest of the BACK SEAT OF YOUR CAR, not on the infant carrier.DUH!

I think this will be a great calm toy for my baby to look at while we're driving!I hope I recieve it.( i registered for it)

1-0 out of 5 stars Unsafe toy!
We got our carseats fitted into our cars.We were reminded NOT to have anything dangling from the infant seat handles.Number one, you are NOT supposed to have the handles in the carry position when using it in a car, that is written all over the instructions.Number 2, they told us to NEVER have toys attached to any part of the car seat, as it would become an object that would strike your child, not even in an accident, what if you had to brake hard? This happened to a friend of mine, and she pulled over to a parking lot and took the toys off her baby's car seat and put the handle in the right position. The instructions are there for a reason! ... I bought and returned at least four Tummy time mats because my son hated all of them.My son really hates to be on his tummy.I decided to give this one a try before giving up. My son actually liked it and even giggled at the fish. The mat is really soft and has a lot of cushion to it.The animals are very bright and inviting. There are lots of things for him to grab at and pull on.Plus it has the mirror which is great. My only complaint is that the mat should be a little bigger. All and all this is great entertainment for the little ones. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Idea!
These blocks are great! We love these blocks, as does our 12 month old.I feel bad that the little got hurt falling on one, but it's not the company's fault. These blocks are very well made with no sharp edges. If your child had any teeth at 8 months of age(our daughter had 4 at this age), it is probable it was the tooth that cut the lip! This product is excellent! We plan to purchase more!

5-0 out of 5 stars Speech/Language Teaching Tool
These blocks are a great tool for teaching speech/language to our children.Having different items in each block is a good way to expand your childs language skill by talking about what is inside of it (i.e. what the object is, color, what the object does or may be used for, etc...).
Both of my boys (ages 2 years & 3 years) have minor speech delays and this toy was a great tool in helping them progress. This product was resonably priced (similar products from educational stores were much more expensive). What a fun way to learn.

4-0 out of 5 stars ENJOYABLE!
My son received a large set of Peed-a-blocks last Christmas when he was only 3 months old. They were instantly entertaining for him.I plan to purchae him more this Christmas!Although I feel badly for the child who cut his lip, I have checked through all ours, a 36 pc. set and have found nothing sharp, or any edges that could injure a child. Unless these were thrown at someone with excessive force, they seem quite safe to me! Hopefully parents will examine all their children's toys for sharp or rough edges, and use their own judgement before letting a child play with them. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy addition!
I purchased this toy for my 9 month old daughter and she absolutely loves it! She loves to grab up all the blocks and bang them together and chew on them. My 3 yr. old daughter loves to play with them too and when she stacks them up little sister loves to knock them down. Each block has lots of colors & different objects inside them which keeps my 9 month old intrieged and my 3 yr. old entertained. I highly recomend these! I also bought the Fisher Price Train & blocks set and she loves that too!

2-0 out of 5 stars My son would not touch these
From the time he was six months old till now when he is 16 months old. He never would touch these! He liked the leapfrog drum and the activty tables but not these. I gave them away because they were worthless to me and my family. Very boring toy for imaginitive children.

5-0 out of 5 stars Coolest Blocks Out There
I love Peek a blocks. They have many low priced accessories that can be purchased for the blocks. Like the dump truck, the giraffe, the activity block the little pully wagon thingy, the circus elephant and more.

My son is loves to look in them. I do too. I love the fact that there are so many different themes behind the blocks and they all are compatable with all the many accessories. ... Read more

This was bought for my 3 month old son. He's now 6 months and has just become interested in them. They are perfect for his little hands and mouth to explore. He loves the different colors and textures. Highly recommended!

4-0 out of 5 stars Such a Disappointment
We were so excited to get these blocks for our 6 month old son for Christmas. They are so cute and have all these really neat toys to put them in and drag them around and such.My son is now 8 months old and has never played with them.We also take care of a 10 month old little boy and he is also un-interested.I can't say anything bad about the toys because I still think they are really cute, but my kids just don't really care for them.

5-0 out of 5 stars these are great toys
We bought my 4 month old son a few sets of these Peek-a-blocks for christmas, including the dump truck and train. He's not quite into them yet, as he's just mastering the grabbing skills. But until he grows into playing more, my 2 1/2 year old daughter loves these! She plays with all the blocks, which entertains both her and her brother, who watches her.Despite another review, the edges on the toys are perfectly rounded. That was a big concern of mine, with 2 young children.but i've felt all the blocks edges, and they arent one bit sharp.

I highly recommend these! They arent too expensive, and kids of all ages love them! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Parents who responded to piano lessons by kicking the instrument mayappreciate this toy as much as a baby will. Two ties hang it from the side ofthe crib, five "keys" on the soft cover conceal five buttons, and colored shapesabove each "key" light up when they are hit or kicked. In one mode, the five"keys" play individually, like piano keys; in another, they play a medley of 10tunes; in a third, they sound out animal names, numbers, and other concepts thatare keyed to the pattern on the cover. The Kick 'n' Learn Piano includes anon/off switch, auto off, and high/low volume control. Requires three AAbatteries. --Richard Farr ... Read more

I think that this is a great toy because it gives babies a chance to have fun, hear interesting sounds, and learn piano!!!:)

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent toy that grows w/ your child
I read a great review about this product in Parents so I had to check it out for myself. My daughter who was 4 months at the time I purchased this, absolutely loves this toy. It has 3 different levels of interaction: music, animal noises, and counting/alphabet. She will wake up in the middle of the night and start kicking away, and if it's turned off - she'll actually get mad that the music doesn't come on! I initially thought the price was a bit high for a "crib toy" but it's worth every penny!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Too Loud!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not the best purchase
Bought this toy so my son could learn to walk behind it.He couldn't push it on carpet. He did, however, pull up and stand with it.The sounds and lights kept him occupied for a while but now the toys sits in the corner collecting dust.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not only is it a stupid toy... It's dangerous!
I put my son under it at about 6 months. He was born premature but caught right up into the 90th percentile for his height and weight. He was WAY too long to do anything with this toy lying down.He just kicked it and it scooted away from him everytime he did.I was forever moving it closer to him. Also, there are no lights or anything remotely interesting on this toy until the second stage; and like a previous poster said, the lights and sounds are more confusing than anything. But with all that, I still tried to make the toy work for us- until it fell on my son!He was learning to sit up and put ONE arm on the top, and if fell right on him!One of the safety legs had a little piece that snapped right off!Under only 16 lbs of weight! He had a huge bump on his head and everything.I returned it to Babies "r" Us, and they put it back on the shelf!I couldn't believe it!

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE this toy
My son is almost 11 months old, and he loves this toy still. It is about the only toy that I can sit him in the floor and he will be satisfied. Now that he is learning to walk it will be good for that too.Its the best gift he has gotten so far. ... Read more

I don't even know where to begin. Eeyore has a creepy voice that scared both of my kids. (1 1/2 and 6 months old) Instead of getting my daughter to crawl with him, she would cover her face and cry! He would go off all by himself, which was really creepy in the middle of the night. And he broke after a couple of months. Now his voice is distorted and we are going to yard sale him to get him out of the house. He's defantly not worth the money

i saw this toy on tv and i thought the whole idea of it was so cute.On Tv the baby was playing with it on the carpet but when i got it home it did not move as well.Even with that, my daughter still enjoy playing with it.

3-0 out of 5 stars In the bottom of the toy box
We were just not impressed at all with this toy.We were trying to motivate our son to crawl.I think this scared him away more than it encouraged him to follow. It was a bit difficult to start and did not move on the carpet. It wasn't helpful to try to get our son to crawl on the ceramic tile.Oh well, he is walking now, so all is fine anyway. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy!
My son got this for Christmas when he was 4 months old and he loves the animal sounds and music, and he also sucks on the antenna and feet. My 2 year old niece also loves it, it teaches shapes and colors. My sister washed her ladybug successfully in the washing machine as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars FAVORITE TOY!!
My mother-in-law bought this for my 3 month old son and he adores it!It seems to keep his attention more than any other toy and he LOVES the lights and music...he sings (coos) along! The only drawback that I've found is that he loves to suck on the ladybug's antennas (a nipple similarity) and they reach the back of his throat - which scares me but they can't be swallowed or choked on. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars It put my daughter to sleep
I got this as a gift when my daughter was born. at first only the sound put her to sleep. then as she gets older the light start to get her attention. I love that it has a sound volume. and a 5, 15 and 20 timer on it. not a must have but it does put my little one to sleep

3-0 out of 5 stars Daughter loves to fall asleep to the music
We received this toy along with a gloworm, when our daughter was 4 months old.She is now 18 months old and can turn the music on and off by herself. If she wakes in the night, I can hear the music playing from her crib and she goes back to sleep. My main issue was that the pages don't light up anymore(we even got a replacement bulb from the manufacturer, but it only worked for 1 day) but now I'm glad they don't work because they were pretty bright. The glow from the face is just enough light in her crib and the music is very soothing for her.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best toy ever
I bought this for my daugter the minute I found out she was on her way.It is very inexpensive, and it is something she now cannot live without. She loves going to bed because she looks forward to listening to the music and watching the lights.Everytime I lie her in her crib, she looks up at the slumbertime glowworm and she gets so excited. The music soothes her and makes her fall asleep.I love the fact that you can program it to go for 5, 12, and 20 minutes. This has helped us with getting her to sleep through the night. My daughter is 8 months old, and when we travel, we take it with us along with the glow worm.We cannot leave home without it.Thank you for this great toy!!!! ...
