Correction on War Admiral and his "real name"
For those of you reading all the reviews, the person who said that War Admiral's real name is Man o' war father of seabiscuit, was in fact incorrect. War Admiral is not seabiscuits father nor is his real name man o' war. War Admiral and Man O' War are TWO DIFFERENT horses. However, both war admiral and seabiscuit are decendants of Man O' War. Seabiscuits father was Hard Tack. Just thought I would clarify that. Anyway, Breyer horses and animals are wonderful, they are durable, educational, collectible, and a lot of fun. Save the more expensive ones for older children who will understand collectible value, but don't hesitate to buy the cheaper classic sized or lower priced traditinals for younger children. My 2 year old plays w/ all my old breyer horses from my childhood, he loves them. =D

War Admiral's Real Name by Janel Gibson
War Admirals real name is Man O War father of Seabiscuit. Man O War was the first one to make horse history with a great speed record. This model is a fun horse to play with buy some race tack and have ready to run a race. But be careful with him and other models they can break easyily. Have fun and try not to break him or Seabiscuit they would't like that.

Amazing Model!!!
This is an amazing modle. I love the detail. This model is very fragile though, So I keep mine on display. When I got mine it wasn't glossy but I didn't care. I think it is a beautiful addition to any Breyer collection. It may be expensive but I think you'll like it.

He is very large and has huge hooves. His mane and tail is put up in fancy buns. Meant to be a model, NOT A TOY!!! He is more fragile than others.

Fun, I guess
Walter Farely's Flame is a loved character for many people, but the model of the Island Stallion is not as good as it could be, in my opinion. The model makes him look a bit fat. He is more of somthing to look at, rather then play with. If you have a Black Stallion/ Island Stallion loving child, the toy is fine, but the parent of a regular horse crazy kid might consider somthing that one can actually put a bridle on.

Walter Farley's Flame Come To Life
Flame from Breyer is a very neat toy, and he is very durable. The effort made into this toy has made him very lifelike. I have read the book, too, and I love the way Walter Farley writes. Danaway Tango - Wonderful Model!
I got Danaway Tango for Christmas, and I instantly loved him! I collect Breyer Horses, and especially love models with thick legs (Shires, Welsh Cobs, etc.) because they do not break as easily, so I loved this one. He's a very pretty colored Welsh Cob, and whoever painted mine did a great job. His mane is also thick and chestnut-colored. Very nice. His big red and white tail acts as a third base besides his two legs on the ground, which I think are very nicely sculpted. Without his tail on the ground, I don't think he would stand up. His muzzle is a creamy tan color, and he has a large blaze on his forehead. His forelock curls around his right ear slightly, and does not block his blaze. His eyes are big and bright, and his ears are straight up. He has creamy tan hooves, and large stockings on all four legs. I love this Welsh Cob, and so will you! ... Read more
