Editorial Review

A wonderful learning toy for toddlers, this LEGO set contains 75 oversized building blocks of various sizes and colors. The blocks fit on top of each other simply and snugly, and pull apart with ease. The set comes contained in a sturdy plastic storage tub. The lid isn't terribly secure; preschoolers will probably be able to open it easily. --Andy Boynton ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Too loose?
They blocks are indeed easy to pull apart - a bit too easy, as the airplane I keep making keeps falling apart. And the lid is great as a building surface, although it's concave (pushed down) a bit so that getting the blocks to stick to it is sometimes tricky.

But the size, number, and colors are great - our 13-month-old loves them!

5-0 out of 5 stars Giant lego + tiny baby = great fun
I didn't think 12mo Sam would really be able to use the quatro bricks, which are twice the size of duplo (and therefore 4x regular lego size). To my surprise, they were a hit.

The blocks stick together easily and come apart with no fuss. The top of the storage chest doubles as a base plate. There are orange, purple and green blocks, which was an eye-opener for me: I've never seen a purple lego block.

Sam wasn't building the Great Wall of China out of the box, but the set seemed age-appropriate, durable and fun. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great complement for LEGO Bulk Tub
We've purchased this as a complement for the Bulk Tub, and both sets completely fit in the tub, so we use the bucket to store other toys in the bathroom. These are large duplo pieces, the smallest about an inch square, great for babies starting 6-9 months old. The comments I made for the bulk tub apply, and I highly recommend these for the versatily and creativity. You can make anything out of them, you're only limited by the number (both sets are enough for quite a lot) and by your imagination (I've made, trucks, boats, castles, even a cathedral). It provided great long hours of fun with my daughter now 3 years old. I expect it'll do so until she's at least 6, at which point we may switch to other smaller but more challenging toys (like the reggular legos).

5-0 out of 5 stars Great as first blocks set for your toddler
My daughter is 18 months old and she loves to play with blocks. She developed interest in bigger blocks that came with the activity table. She liked to create a tower with it. To elaborate more of her hand-eye co-ordination skills, I bought this 90 piece bucket for her. It is a perfect first blocks set for a toddler. The blocks are not too big like Mega blocks and not much small like Duplo blocks. This size is perfect for their tiny hands to work with. Plus I find the bucket has nice quantity of blocks, not too many to get tired of the mess and not too little so that the young ones get to explore enough.

1-0 out of 5 stars Freedom to choose
These blocks were the LARGE DUPLO size blocks, which was not well-explained in the item description.Of course, I noted the age range but stupidly assumed that these were the same size as the regular lego blocks.

Anyway, my 4 year old got them for Christmas and she liked playing with them on Christmas day. However, my parents gave her a real Lego set the next day and she plays with it much more!

All in all:Great for the money.Lots of imaginative play.Very sturdy and easy to put together and take apart.Be aware these are large blocks great for smaller hands! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Creative Possibilities
This is a colorful and creative toy to keep little fingers and minds busy

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST!
If we have to choose just one toy, this is it!!
My son has the blocks everywhere he goes (he's 23 months old), I mean everywhere. In the car, in the restaurants, in the house, he always has some blocks in his hands. He's loved to build blocks for almost an year. The best toy ever.
I also recommend the lego block table (I bought it in Kidsrus store). The table seems a little bit high for a 2 year old boy, so my son has to fold his legs when building blocks on it. But, worth to buy it:-)

5-0 out of 5 stars Good basic
Bought this for my 2 year old who has access to lot of LEGOs at daycare but was asking for LEGOS at home. She loves it, lots of creative games with it, including bath toy, and I have rediscovered my childhood LEGO skills!Excellent basic starter kit.Only reservation for younger child these are medium size blocks, still be cautious on putting in mouth. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Good.....
These legos don't really fit the original Legos, and there weren't very many Legos in the bucket (only about half the bucket was filled). But they are entertaining...

5-0 out of 5 stars Great bucket to start for a three-year-old
Although this bucket contains very small pieces, the kind to choke on, if you have a mature three-year-old to 3 1/2, this is a great one to start them on.It has all sorts of neat little things they can make right away, and they're easy for them to hold.My little guy just loves this bucket and all the neat stuff he can build with it. Mine was two dollars at a local grocery store K...r and worth much more.It has 95 ideas in a booklet too to help those of us whose winter blahs have a tendency to need a boost.Grab this bucket - you'll be very glad.

5-0 out of 5 stars legos are fun
my 5 year old has the dexterity to handle the small pieces and spends hours making her own toys with them.she would rather play with this than anything else.she has lost a few pieces, but still has plenty for building fun. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good for a one-year old
I thought this might be a little much for a one-year old (the set is rated "1+"), but my son took to them immediately. The sizes, shapes, and colors are ideal, and the set (20 blocks) is just the right quantity...I can't imagine dealing with the 75-piece set. Within a week of receiving them, he got into dumping them and pulling apart any blocks I would build up. At 15 months, he has started occasionally putting them together, sorting them by color and shape, etc. This is an excellent toy to grow with the child.
My only caveat is the lid (block base) for the container. It's not as high-quality as everything else, and ours developed a crack within a couple of weeks. Otherwise, this is one of the best toys ever in terms of interest and overall play time for my child. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Stimulates Curiosity and Creativity
Have you noticed how many toys these days encourage children to just be spectators? Or predetermine exactly how the child will use the toy? One example of this is a toy that purports to be an exciting archealogical dig, but simply involves the child removing clay from an "artifact." How much skill or creativity is involved in THAT?

Legos is one of the few manufacturers that makes toys that give the child free rein to create and conceive. (Although I notice that even Legos is producing more toys that give exact instructions on what to build rather than providing pieces that can be used in multiple ways.)

My 2 1/2 year old niece loves this set. She isn't quite ready to make things that match the included instructions, but she has a lot of fun putting the bricks together and coming up with her own creations. That's how I'd rather see her play anyway, rather than building to a blueprint. She prefers these regular-size bricks to the toddler Duplo bricks.

4-0 out of 5 stars LEGO Bucket beats Television
The average LEGO set discourages creativity and has limited uses, e.g., the LEGO motorcyle kit. This product sold by Amazon is a huge volume of universal LEGO pieces.
With today's smart kid's, the manufacturers may mis-estimate age applicable age ranges.Think Age 3-7 if little fingers are strong enough. Can be passed from older to younger kids. ... Read more
