Townhouse is a great investment
I bought the Townhouse for my 2 1/2 yr old.I read all the reviews before hand to help decide between this or the Sweet Sounds.I am very pleased we chose the roomy Townhouse without the recorded voice sounds that I believe would have been annoying after a while.My daughter and her older cousins can easily spend hours playing with it.I found it to be plenty durable and have had no problems with the wiring (I picked mine up at the store in lieu of shipping).The only neg comments I have are that it seemed a bit pricy and if you don't have a Toysrus nearby, the accessories are very limited at other stores.I was very happy though with the amount of accessories that came with the Townhouse, which made the $20 difference from the Sweet Dreams house worth paying.I love hearing my daughters imagination at work with this toy and would highly recommend it to others.

Best dollhouse choice for ages 1 and above!!!!
As much as I LOVE Playmobil, I think Fisher Price outdid them on this one....I debated and debated and researched all the possiblities and finally decided on this dollhouse.I decided against the Playmobil Victorian House and the Playmobil Fairy Tale Castle due to the toy store saying that there were a lot of pieces that come apart with the Playmobil models, as where with this Fisher Price model, it was one piece.My daughter was 2 when we bought this dollhouse for her. She is now almost 5 and still loves it. She has gotten a lot of use out of it.Her 8 year old cousin has gotten a lot of use out of it.Her 3 year old brother loves it and her 1 year old sister loves it.We bought accersory sets, as well.All of which are little child friendly.I have to say, this set came with a lot more than the Playmobil sets.You have to buy nearly all of the accessory parts with Playmobil. However, this past Christmas,our daughter asked for the Playmobil Castle. Since she really liked her Playmobil people etc., we thought okay we'll try it.What a mistake and money waste that was!!!I sat there for over 3 hours with my husband putting this thing together.She loved it on Christmas morning and that was about it.Fast forward a few months, I went down to the playroom to spend sometime playing with the kids.I asked my daughter if she wanted to play with the castle.No, I want to play with the dollhouse, she says.So we go over to the dollhouse and play with it once again (with a Playmobil cat).Meanwhile, my youngest daughter, the one year old, is over there taking apart the castle.To make a long story short,GET A DOLLHOUSE THAT IS ONE PIECE!!!You will not regret it.Only an adult can keep putting the Playmobil ones back together.Who has the time to do that, much less deal with the frustrated child who gets upset that it keeps coming apart.I love the Fisher Price model.I love the realistic furniture, people and accessories.You will love it, too....

Buyer beware
My daughters got this dollhouse and the Loving Family Dollhouse for Christmas this year.I liked this one more for a few reasons (more furniture included, bigger floorplan, etc., cute and not annoying sounds like the other one, etc); however, after a month of use this dollhouse is breaking down.I've already had to glue some of the backing back on the dollhouse.The wiring is all messed up - when you push the fireplace, nothing happens, the stove now activates the fireplace, the phone rings when the doorbell is pushed.I've tried time and time again to get ahold of someone at Fisher Price.They just have a recording that tells you to call back - how convinient for them!!!After two weeks of trying relentlessly to get ahold of them, they told me switch out the batteries - THIS DOES NOT WORK!!!Now I can't get ahold of them again.I now longer have the box - it is a huge box and most people throw it out after assemnbling the house.If you are buying this house -KEEP THE BOX - you may have to return it within a few weeks.Also, if you can get a hold of someone at Fisher Price, don't hang up before getting another solution other than replacing the batteries.Like I said, it doesn't work and you'll likely have a hard time getting a rep on the phone again. If your daughter doesn't mind not having the lights and sounds, this a great dollhouse, but if she is looking forward to using all the features that you are paying top dollar for, keep in mind that you may need to exchange the house within the first month or two of use - keep that receipt and box handy! ... Absolutely Wonderful
My daughter now age three received this house for Christmas when she was two.When a holiday or birthday comes we tell each family member an item for the house we still need.Our house has nearly every item out there to buy.Our only problem is finding the African family members.They are a bit harder to find.When we find people we haven't seen before we buy them because some are hard to find (more rare).That has been part of the fun though.It is exciting to find some of those hard to find people.My daughter has over 50 people (old and new) though so don't think finding people for this house is difficult.I like playing with this house with my daughter.We both like to rearrange the furniture and make it look as homey as possible.I love it and so does she.Some people have complained about ebay and I will agree that the stuff for the house is pricey.However you are able to get those items like Grandpa and Grandma that are no longer being made.The toys for these houses from the 80's are still strong and like new.These toys are that durable!I think this is a must have for any girl from age two to eight.Our friend's eight year old daughter still plays with hers.Well worth the money

great toy, not that hard to find furniture
I have been looking for a dollhouse for my 3 year old for weeks, as she recently told me that her Little People dollhouse is a baby dollhouse. She played with this dollhouse at a girlfriend's and loved it, so we bought it. She has not stopped playing with it! I did not find it to be flimsy at all. My 10-month old pulled up on it and used it to cruise, did not fall or wobble. As for furniture, another reviewer said you may have to wait months to furnish it. Well, I live in a very rural area with only two toy stores for miles. Today I bought the dining room, living room, parents' room, bathroom, and playroom sets from local retailers. I paid the MSRP, not more than $9.99 for any one set. A search on Ebay turned up 9 nursery sets, all at reasonable prices. I am very pleased with the quality and price of the dollhouse, and the furniture is adorable, with lots of neat features. My daughter is in love with this toy and its accessories. I would recommend it to anyone. I actually prefer it to its pricier cousing, the Sweet Sounds dollhouse. My child has to use her imagination to create scenarios and sounds for this dollhouse. Great toy!

Need to be Patient for the Accessories
The dollhouse itself is very cute and would be quite fun to play with if it were possible to furnish it.I heard rumors that the furniture was discontinued but Fisher-Price customer service says that is not true. They will continue to make it but do not know when it will be available.And the Sweet Sounds Townhouse furniture, which one reviewer said fits, it very difficult to find as well.Even Fisher-Price online is out of stock.I had considered returning the dollhouse to avoid the hassle of searching for hard-to-find accessories, but I liked this more than any other that I've seen and believe my daughter would love it.Unless you have the time and means to constantly scan ebay and pay outrageous prices, be prepared to wait, perhaps months, before furnishing the dollhouse. ... Affordable Set
This is a very good set for the price. This set has a lot of people for only (...). If you are building a dollhouse community, or are looking to add to your child's collection this is perfect. I would like this set with different ethnic figures, so I hope they have that available at some point. You really can't beat this set, plus it gives you a pet, with a holder. That's cool. Then the little extas, like the purse for the female and all, it's really worth it.

Inability to relate?
With regards to the review: "Where are the African American, Asian and Hispanic families? I'm a classroom teacher and would have bought the whole set but it's a family my children can not relate to!" - the fact that you think children would not be able to relate to dolls depicted as belonging to a racial group other than their own probably speaks volumes about your own attitudes to race, and very little about those of the children you refer to. Children should be able to relate to dolls of all "races", just as they should be able to relate to people of all races. There are plenty of reasons for racial diversity in the toy industry, but a child's inablity to relate to dolls with a different skin colour to their own is not one of them!

A mommy of two!!
I do not have these exact people but I have the mom, dad, little girl and baby that came with the Loving Family Sweet Sounds dollhouse and I love how the new people have hair, not just a plastic head.My girls are 5 and almost 3 and my 3 year old loves playing with this the most.However, I wish they would make clothes for the Loving Family people so the kid's could dress them in different outfits.And maybe even have a closet and hangers to hang the clothes.Then they would really have a blast with this toy!!!!!Both of my girls love playing with the fashion pollys the most because they love to dress them.So if Fisher Price would start making clothes, they would have a world of fun with this toy.But overall, it is very durable and a great toy!!!!! ... A little different than pictured
I just received this set today, and there is one small change with the set as pictured. Instead of the tree, you get a parrot in a cage, and there is no cat. Otherwise, it's exactly as pictured (bed, pillows, lamp, nightstand, mirror, bed-tray). It's still a very cute set, and well worth the money. But expect these changes if you order it.

Nice little bedroom set
The parent's room is a good value compared to some of the other loving family furniture sets. It comes with a bed, table, lamp, mirror, tree, and breakfast in bed tray that flips over to be a reading table. BEST TOY SET IN THE HOUSE!
Bought this for my 2 year old and my 6 and 8 year olds have taken over!Every piece is so life-like.Pieces are a realistic size, unlike the barbie accessories...Current with times, including barbecue grills, cd players, fish bowls, gum ball machines, snugglie baby carriers, etc.Most of the pieces actually open, close, or play music...AWESOME SET for the kids who love to play house!!

Cute toy with only a few problems
The furniture is so cute. My daughter loved setting up the rooms. However, the furniture is almost too big for the rooms. We have the classic dollhouse. I don't know how it would fit in other dollhouses. The bathroom is an especially tight fit. Also, the laptop and book that came with it kept coming apart. That said, I am glad we have it because my daughter loves playing with it.

TIME CONSUMING

Cute accessory for dollhouse
I think this is a very cute addition in the Loving Family dollhouse. The chair actually reclines (back goes back and footrest goes up). The floor lamp is really cute and we love the little dog. I love the fireplace too, makes for a cozy living room. I actually prefer this living room over the newer Deluxe Living room that interacts w/ the house. That one has a big TV that you can change the picture on once or twice. I've decided that's not what I want my daughter pretending....that the family sits and watches TV. She can watch TV in her own time, but while playing w/ this dollhouse I want her imagination souring :-)

Great Must Have Set
When we purchased this set for our four-year-old daughter, we weren't sure if she'd like it.She absolutely loved it.It taught her that one should never go to bed without first putting out the fire, and she loves the dog that came with the set.She's happy that she can keep her "Loving Family" warm in front of their ownfire. ... Be Aware - Not as advertised
The backyard set which is currently being shipped is not as pictured above with the BBQ grill, swing, slide and table.We just received this set.Instead of the BBQ grill it now contains a wagon and KC the Kinderbot which interacts with the Sweet Sounds House.

Disappointed
I was rather disappointed with this product because, as you can see in the picture, it is supposed to come with a BBQ, and I primarily bought it for my girls for the BBQ - as a summertime, outside, family event accessory.When it arrived it was packaged with a red wagon rather than a BBQ and I was disappointed.My girls still love playing with their loving dollhouse and all accessories. ... Lots of fun playtime ahead
My daughter received this for her 3rd birthday and absolutely adores it.She has so much fun with the accessories, ponies and Haley.The other ponies in the series work well with the barn's talking features.The barn is big enough to house 4 ponies and all their gear but not so big that you can't put it up to store when not in use.It seems very sturdy and well made.Overall we are very pleased with the purchase and would recommend this highly.

Daughter "Haley" loves this....
My daughter loves this toy! The doll in the stable is named Haley like her.The horse and girl talk back and forth to each other. Very cute!!!!Is one of her favorite toys.You can also purchase additional horses that talk in the stable.

Thought It'd Be Fun...
We bought our daughter the bathroom set for her doll house. I thought she'd be thrilled, but has only played with it a couple times, and ignores it when she plays! I don't know if your child would react the same, but hey, the dollhouse still needs a bathroom. ;)

Good thing the pieces snap back into place for the potty and mirror area.

Strongly recomend
I have two girls.Both are a bit rough with toys.They are 2 and 5.They have had this toy for two years.It still works like new.I will be buying a second one because they fight over who is playing with it.They enjoy this toy very much even years later.I stronly recomend this toy.

Fun water play, unreliable sound effects
This was #1 on our 4 year old daughter's Christmas list last December.She still enjoys playing with it, but we are all disappointed with the lights and music.When she filled it with water shortly after receiving it, some water got into the speaker.Despite airing it out and replacing batteries, the music and lights no longer work.She was disappointed, but still likes to have her dolls and dollhouse pets go swimming.We were surprised that a toy that is supposed to be used with water is not designed well for use with water.Especially for the price, this was not one of the cheaper dollhouse accessories.So expect good play value but no "extras" with this one.

Cool Fun
We just bought this for our kids age 2 and 4. This is a great addition to any dollhouse collection. You can put water in it and push the button and a light comes on and it bubbles.(Every time you push the button it bubbles.)We use this with the old Fisher Price doll house. A Nice Addition
My granddaughter has this set and she seems to enjoy it.
She doesn't just play with it when she sets up her town, but it is also a good stand-alone set.The construction is good, well built and sturdy and I think the characters are fine. All in all a good addition to a child's toy world that gives them a taste of the real world.

Great toy - and the black kid is NOT the bus driver!
I had to laugh when I read the other reviews about the black bus driver and how this promotes racial division, stereotyping, etc.

If you look at him closely, you will see that he is a CROSSING GUARD and has on an orange vest...not a bus driver!He is the same size as the other kids -- thus NOT a bus driver.

My daughter, age 3, loves this bus and puts the people (crossing guard and all) in through the door, but out through the top.:-)

Overall, a great toy for the price.

The one review that sticks in my mind is the one which describes the characters.I was going to order the item for the bus and characters.But once I read the reviews and looked at the characters I decided not to purchase this item.I will look elsewhere for a school bus. Fisher Price has disappointed me with this one. Lily Gray
this toy is great I have three myself they are Dusty,Whisper,and Honey and I have all three of the loving family foals Daisy, Blossom, and Rose.But my personal favorite is Lily Gray but I still do not have her.Me and my neighbors play with these almost every day and they are our favorite toy.

Now we need a farm.
We added several ponys from the western set. They are sturdy and well made. The horse sounds are realistic and accessories again help children to recognize that the animals, if real, would need food and water. lots of fun for the lil' horse lover
I read the other review and I have to disagree.My daughter is 2 1/2 and loves to play with this and doesn't have much trouble with it.The key to keeping the saddle on is putting the blanket on first underneath.Then there is no problem.You have to fit the riders legs snugly to the horse and then they can ride, jump, or whatever suits their fancy.It makes horsey noises which my daughter loves and she uses this set with her Loving Family townhouse and the talking stable you can buy separately.Her older cousins all take english riding lessons and collect Breyer.This allows her to feel like she plays with the same things, but is more suitable for a toddler in my opinion.

Save your money
I bought this horse and a few of the Western Style Loving Family People for my six year old son.He liked the horse and playing with it for a little while.Unfortunately, the saddle does not clip onto or strap onto the horse in any way, so it falls off everytime the horse moves.The people are jointed to straddle the horse, but again, do not clip on in any way.It is not possible to pretend that the people are riding because they slip off the saddle and the saddle slips off the horse.He has the people lead the horse, or look at the horse, nothing else is practicle.I will probably have to glue the saddle onto the horse to make it usable.He is very disappointed and so am I.
In addition, I bought the Loving Family Camper, but there is not a horse trailer to allow them to pull the horse behind them for their "vacation" so the house must ride by laying on top of the camper, which is so absurd looking I have to laugh.
The camper is a lot of fun and easy to use, spend your money on it instead of the horse. ... Read more

I have sugar,honey,dusty and whisper.I saw whisper in the store and was suprised to see a horse mix. so I went online to search for others I came across whisper again a found out she was a cream color nothing like the one I saw at the store same with dusty she is white with a gray muzzle I found her online and she was a pinto same with honey.

Excellent Choice
My 4 year old daughter received the Loving Family dollhouse and many accessories for Christmas last year. This horse has been the best investment of all. The house is fun, but not real well built for her younger friends.Her cousin loved her horse, Whisper, so much that we went & got him one for his birthday. He loved it, but wanted to know where the rider was. There is another horse from this series available that comes with a rider. I haven't seen it in person, but Fisher-Price has full support from me.

A well-made and detailed toy horse
We bought this toy horse for my son (22 months). I'm really impressed with it's quality: the sound effects are quite realistic, the pawing action and lowering head are cute, and the accessories are nice. The saddle is detailed and fits nicely. We have to use a rubberband to "tie" the rider onto the horse, but that is mainly because my son gets so distraught when they fall off.

Wow!
I decided to buy this toy for my four year old cousin because she wants a dollhouse just as much as I did when I was a kid. Since I never got one, I wanted to fufill my cousin's dream and buy the perfect dollhouse. So when I found this dollhouse I was so exited. It was affordable and still big! I just got it today, and I just had to open it to see for myself! Not only does it come with 1 kitchen chair, high chair, love seat, cradle, toy box, rocking chair, cat, tape recorder and baby swing, the built-in stuff is really nice too. Like the upstairs chair where the mother can tell stories, and the kitchen is really great! It has a built-in microwave, frige, counter, phone, stove, etc. I just loved this dollhouse. Plus it comes with a ton of stickers so you and your child can have fun decorating the house to feel like a real home. Very realistic, perfect for fostering imagination.
My 3 yr old got this for Christmas to help furnish her Sweet Sounds Dollhouse.The couch and footstool are well made, material hasn't come off at all.The TV is very sturdy, you can either push the screen or the button, both are very secure........trust me this gets a lot of use and it doesn't show it at all.
The tea set interacts not only with the house itself, but the dolls talk about it as well when both are placed in the house at the same time.
The only minor complaint is that the pink scrapbook/photo album comes apart pretty easily........doesn't hurt it, just a pain to always be snapping it back together.

I love the bubble sound
This one makes a bubble sound, parrot squak, meow, and ruff.So cute.It's nice that the animals are not attached, so you can play with them around the dollhouse.It doesn't really fit anywhere though.When my daughter plays, it usually ends up in a separate "room" she has to create on the floor.However, this one is a must for the dollhouse because it is so fun!

Loving Family Pet Set-AWESOME
This was much more then I expected!The dog, cat and bird all come off their "pet bed/cages" so your child can play with them in other places of the playhouse.EVERY pet area makes a noise too which is wonderful.....the fish tank even lights up!
I have been use to buying Mattel(Barbie) items for my six year old, and I bought this and alot of other Fisher Price house accessories for my 2 1/2 year old and their is no comparsion in quality and fun!In fact I find my 6 year old trying to take her little sisters Loving Family dollhouse stuff to put in her Barbie dream house!

FANTASTIC TOY!
This is sure to make any kid happy. Kids love animals and most want one of these in the set as a pet. What I love about it is each one makes a sound, even the fish tank, when the child touches the top of the animal/cage. Parents will appreciate the fact that the birdcage, fishtank and both beds for the pets are non-removable from the cabinet they sit on or are attached to. Only the kitty and puppy and food dishes are removable. This would make a great gift for little hands and fingers with big hearts of love but not quite mature enough for a live pet (yet.) Parents can use this toy as a "test" to see if their child is ready for a live pet by reminding them to "feed, water and play" with the pets daily and observing. let's make music!
I am the 28 year old lucky recipient of the Special Edition Townhome, some deluxe furniture packs, and this grand piano.Firstly, as a pianist, it is just awesome to gaze at.However, it plays 4 classical pieces and single notes, encouraging a real moment for a child to engage in music interest or hone their skills if they are learning piano or another instrument. I have it situated by the terrace doors.The piano itself is austere and, well, grand.The wall screen, fabulous, separates the master bedroom suite from the claw - footed tub and bathroom my mom and I created.It is durable and elegant and coordinates with the entire home.The carpet is unusual and the bench is padded and large enough for mom and daughter to share in a piano lesson together!It brings back the memories of my childhood.I am very impressed.

We've had this piano for over a year now and it is a favorite accessory for our FP dollhouse. Both of my daughters (5 and 2) love it.The piano is defnitely durable as it gets lots of attention.
