Disappointed
I like Knex in general, but I was very disappointed that this set only contains one battery operated motor.The description says three motors, but two of them are spring motors.For the price I expected a lot more.This set is over 4 times as expensive as the 425 pice value tub, but has less than 2 times as many pieces. ... Greatest Toy Ever
I think that this is a really great toy, but it is only for adults, because i think that it is slightly dangerous if not used properly.

Not just for you 16 and up age group
I was recently browsing around looking for some new knex building set when i saw the roller coaster for physics and educational purposes.I just wanted to say that the age limit for that set is discouraging.They do sell the roller coaster by itself and that in itself is an educational experience.I was 12 when i built the roller coaster i got.I am 16 now.Im sure this set is good for learning but im sure you can get the same thing out of the plain roller coaster set.it took me one day to build and i am still learning from it.I am constantly doing different things to it that improove it each time.You catch on easily to the concept of physics and how to make the car go faster or how to make it slow and not derail.This set is a very good experience even for younger children.I also recommend the Big Ball Factory and The Trampolene set.These sets are very educational and will boost any childs curiosity. ... Be Prepared
My 7 year old was thrilled to get this for Christmas in 2003.Daddy and Uncle Steve were slightly less thrilled to spend an hour putting the Farris Wheel together.It stayed up on my dinning room table until April when I had finally had enough of it and took it apart while everyone was gone (it took me 15 minutes to take the thing down!).

Needless to say the Farris Wheel has never been built again, but my 2 year old likes to play with the part that plays music.She played the thing to death until we finally put the thing out of it's misery and removed the battery.

When I Started on this Ferris Wheel i had no idea how big it would realy be! it took me at least a hour and a half to comppleat this ferris wheel by my self "whith a lot of years under my belt". when it was done i did have some trouble with th emoter but it was fine. ADVICE- DO NOT connect the controller to the inside when building the swings, My Cuz did it and broke the peices becuse everytime u wanted to shut it off you would have to stop the ride with your hand.

Fun Toy
I worked on this with my mom and my two sisters (9 and 5). It took me the whole day to finish it. When my mom and sisters took a break, I just kept going!. This toy was so fun i coulnd't stop. I was determined to finished. Finally I did and now i don't want to take it apart. I built the "Boom Ride". I had trouble with the motor because you need to do it a little diferently from the directions, and need to hold it in place for the first couple of tries.
