5-0 out of 5 stars Addictive
This is a fantastic game! It is a fast and furious challenge of reaction times & can be played alone, with a partner or in a group.Great for bored kids (or adults)!

4-0 out of 5 stars Wish I could play to a higher score!
This game is very fun. It helps to to clear my mind. The down side is that it stops at 250. I've reached 250 a few times wanted to see if it was just a mistake but nope it only goes to 250. Other than that great for the younger kids helps with listening and motor skills. As far as us adults who play, the game needs to go higher than 250. Overall good fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars This game is for Christmas - not for Life
Hours of addictive fun for all the family.Best used with some headphones if gran keeps nagging you to eat more cakes at a family gathering; which can be off putting to say the least!
I have stated that "This game is for Christmas -not for life" because it only you allows you to get up to 250ish and then it stops - Challenge over - motivation to play it GONE!
However practising to get up to 250 is great fun.Recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best boardgame you will ever play in your life!!!
It took me about 15 minutes to learn how to play and the i wanted to keep on playing. I started to get nervous too. This game is all about what your plan is and whatever you do try to get Asia and Euroup. WARNING: You may get hooked on this game and stay up to 2:25 playing it with your friends!!(true story! I did that.)

5-0 out of 5 stars world domination is fun
this game is awesome but could be better. the game got 1 star in educational value because of the misshaped continents (for example one part of europe is half the size of asia) the durability is ok because the pieces are so small you can literally inhale them. the gameplay is smooth and not very complicated. the object is to rule the world and to do that you must attack the opponent. the world is divided into 42 territories, 8 for each continent. each turn you get extra troops or reinforcements to place on your terriotores to strengthen them. to take over territories you must conduct invasions. an invasion is (your) effort(s) to take over a territory. one invasion may consist of one or many short rounds called battles. battles are actually based purely on luck, not strategy. the strategy comes in when you're deciding when and where to attack and where you place your reinforcements. overall this is a great game but it takes hours to finish a game. ... Editorial Review

If you've seen "The Exorcist" lately, the folks at Parker Brotherswould like to extend a heartfelt "Captain Howdy-Ya-Do?" courtesy of theirnewly luminescent classic Ouija Board equipment. It's the same traditionalsetup as it was decades ago: the alphabet-and-numbers board with "Yes," "No,"and "Good Bye" spelled out in turn-of-the-century mysterious script; theheart-shaped "Message Indicator Oracle" with the readout window; the numerouscoy references to Ouija being "only a game--isn't it?" So if this editionseems to comprise a bit more plastic than we remember, the promise of theboard and indicator glowing in the dark for half-an-hour (after exposure tolamplight for 10 minutes) more than makes up for it. Of course, in the darkyou'll never know for sure whether the person across the board is the onepushing the indicator, now will you? --Tony Mason ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This is not a Toy!!!-written by a 16 year old
This board is ment as a means of communication and
is not a toy there are real rituals that go along
with it you may see these a www.spellsandmagic.com
This is only one of the true and working rituals:
First you want to go to your quite place, turn off the lights and light the candles and incense. If you have 2 people it always seems to workbetter for some reason. Do your protection ritual. If you do not know one then you can simply imagine your body surrounded by a sphere of bright white light. The color white is always used for protection and purity. Then when you are relaxed enough, each person place their fingertips on the edge of the disc. Be sure not to push down very hard at all or the disc will not slide around like it is supposed to. You may then ask if there is anyone present with you here in the room. Or are there any spirits here that wish to communicate at this time? You may want to askthis several times. It may take a little while before it will start to move. When it starts to move slowly towards the yes then you know you have made contact withsome form of entity. It usually takes a few minutes or so to start getting any results ifyou do. Don't expect to get results every time, for you are not commanding these spirits, you are simply asking them if they want to talk.Once you have made contact, then ask the spirit what its name is. Then you may proceed to ask the spirit any questions you want. Things will usually start to speed up a little from that point on. Sometimes when a spirit is ready to leave, the disc will just go off the board. Write down your experiences every time you use the Ouija Board and keep them all in a little journal for future reference. Now the the most important part... Make sure you do some form of banishing ritual in order to make sure that the spirit has departed and is not still hanging around. The choice is yours and you don't have to do this banishing, but it is always better if you can. If the spirit stays and hangs around you it may very well try to influence you to its way of thinking and it may not be a good spirit. So just take precautions and your experiences should be quite enjoyable!

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool except for the fact that you are really taking to you!
Ok at first i have to admit, I belived in the spirits and stuff, !AT FIRST! now i know exactally how this ITEM (notice how i didnt use the word tool) works it simple its you controling it for real! so you know how you have to have 2 people right well either one of you is putting the little message thing to the place your mind wants it to go. i have a few test for you to try. 1. first you ask it something, like will i be rich when i grow up? then you get the answer of yes or no. get another 2 people dont tell them what the answer was. have them try and almost always its aa no because you want it to be a yes and the other people that did it the second time dont give a care what they put it on at all. 2. blindfold the people that are going to play, then you have them ask it a question and it will come out scrambled!!!! im serious. see so its you that is talking to you. sorry to make anyone mad but thats the real truth. and by the way do you really think that parker brothers a manufacturer would make a TOY with thing that could hurt people, and if they did wouldnt they be sued?

1-0 out of 5 stars this game is inappropriate
i think this game is very inappropriate to sell. you may think the kids who buy ouija use it for fun, but some of them use it to try and conact the "dead". i hope you know that when you are selling these ouija boards, you are giving them a tool of witchcraft, which can sometimes be used to conjour evil spirits. i hope you reconsider selling the ouija boards ... You can't beat a classic like Boggle for sheer return of fun on one's investment in a simple game. A small container holds 16 cubes, each cube marked with a different letter on each of its six sides. Give the container a good shake, and the cubes land within little pockets. Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to find as many words (of three-or-more letters) as you can--in three minutes. Points are tallied by word length. --Tom Keogh ... Read more

Features

  • The original 3-minute word search game!
  • Just shake up the lettered cubes, drop them into the grid and start the timer.
  • Then race to see who can list the most words with the highest point value among the random letter assortment in the grid!
  • For 2 to 6 players.
  • Ages 8 and up.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fast-paced Introduction to Word Games
In Boggle, players compete against one another and a 3-minute hourglass to find word combinations across randomly distibuted letter cubes on a 4x4 grid.

The game develops pattern recognition skills, and because most possible words are only three or four letters long, astute younger players can play adults without too much of s handicap.

Tactics learned playing Boggle translate well into success at Scrabble and other word games, while the clock management skills help with chess and test taking.

Boggle is lightweight and makes a good travel game, though you might want to bring a zipper-lock sandwich bag to avoid losing the letter cubes. As an added plus, the game can be played solitaire with minimal dropoff in entertainment value.

If you enjoy Boggle, you might want to seek out Big Boggle, which uses a 5-by-5 grid (56% more cubes). Words and time limit are both longer.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fast Passed, A Lot Of Fun
I have played this game for years. It is a lot of fun but my friends got tired of it. I love the fast passed action, which to me is less boring than scrabble, but not everyone thinks so. If you like scrabble you should enjoy this game. Finding with whom to play is a different story. If you are a parent do not hesitate to purchase this game for your child. I recommend having a scrabble dictionary close by. If you do you will find out in no time that most of your made-up words DO exist. And since you do not get penalties for them try as many as you wish.

The game is simple. You shake the letter cubes and when they are all in place you try to make as many words as possible by following a continuous path through adjacent letters in the rack. (Diagonal counts as adjacent) The path need not be straight, but each letter in the path can only be used once. You have three minutes (sand clock included) to do so. Only words that are three letters or more are permitted.

You can't go wrong with this game, plus it is not expensive. It's worth a try.

ADVANCED PLAYERS: If you look around you might find Boggle Master. That edition has a 5x5 grid and 9 more letter cubes. You still have three minutes (and the grid is as noisy as ever) but you can make a lot more points in this one. Happy hunting and good luck.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun times
I love this game and have for years. With so many words to make and such variety with who you play against and what letters might come up, it's always a different game every time you play it. The only drawback is the noise when shaking up the letters in their box. I would like to see a version that wasn't so irritating in that respect. As a tip, if the noise bothers you and you play the game a lot so it's worth the effort, put some thin felt strips in the box top (the kind with the self-adhesive backing) so when you shake it, it makes less noise. ... Round and round she goes. Hi Ho! Cherry-O is the counting game in which players race to be the first to have 10 cherries in their basket. A spin of the arrow determines your fate. It will instruct you to pick one, two, three, or four cherries from your tree and put 'em in your basket. That is, of course, if you don't land on the bird or the dog, requiring you to take two cherries from your basket and return them to the tree. And try not to land on the spilled bucket or--you guessed it--spill the contents of your basket or you start over. --Alison Golder ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game!
This is one of my four-year-old daughter's favorite games, just like it was one of mine when I was her age.She loves to count the cherries as she takes them off, and even loves when the bird or dog takes some. She'll play this for about half an hour or more, even if she loses.

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy this game!!
My 2.5 year old LOVES to play games. She is very good about taking turns, and is crazy for games. However, it's hard to find a good, simple, straight forward game for this age group. Most of them have incredibly complicated rules. This game is great. Of course, my daughter loves to count, so counting the cherries is great fun for her. She also loves to spin the spinner and she loves to say "Oh no" when you have to put the cherries back. It's a game that will last for many years. Her brother who is 19 remembers this game and will actually play it with her (sometimes).

The best things: No batteries, no complicated rules, doesn't take up a lot of room like some games (with big boxes), older kids will play with younger kids, parents enjoy it, and I guess I should add that it is educational too. But most importantly it's just fun.

The worst thing: No extra cherries. We have lost a couple so we can only play with 3 people, but that's fine.

3-0 out of 5 stars A Game of Chance
Hi Ho Cherry-O is a game of chance that includes cute little red cherries.Gameplay is very simple. You just spin the spinner and whatever number the arrow lands on is how many cherries you receive. But if you land on a dog or bird, you lose all of your cherries. The player with the most cherries wins.Aimed toward the preschool and kindergarten level, this colorful game teaches counting, as well as good sportsmanship. And parents can be free of guilt, since the game is up to chance, so you're not really lying when your child asks if you let them win!I recommend this game to little ones who aren't quite ready for the big-kid games. ... Like many card games, Rack-O is part skill, part luck of the draw. Two to four players try to get their rack of 10 cards in consecutive order, from lowest to highest, first. The cards are numbered from 1 to 60, and each player takes a turn by drawing and discarding. Bonus Rack-O points are earned when a player gets a perfect run of three or more cards. The first to rack up 500 points wins. The rule book doesn't suggest variations, but more challenge can be added by having to get certain number patterns, like even numbers or multiples of 3, which will also increase the number skills development that's part of this game. --Lynne Sampson ... 4-0 out of 5 stars They Hate Games, but Love Rack-O
My husband, father, and nephew all hate games, and can barely be persuaded to play ANY game. But all three, once coerced into playing it for the first time actually LIKED it, and wanted their own game.It is a very simple game (for those 8 and up), doesn't take too much concentration, just a little luck, and it provides a little family time away from the TV.Kids also enjoy learning how to sequence their cards, and it teaches number value to the younger players.Good family game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Fun Over And Over Again
I won't sit and explain the rules of this game because they are very simple. What I will say is that this game is one that the whole family can enjoy.Other than the cards eventually wearing out, it is a vrey durable game.I have enjoyed Rack-O for a long time, and if you haven't ever purchased this game, I must tell you that you are really missing out.Give it a try.I'm sure you won't be sorry!

What food gives Popeye strength? What country calls its native inhabitants "aborigines"? What street sport sees cuts and scrapes from falls called "munchies"? Answer correctly and you just might score a wedge in the junior version of the wildly popular Trivial Pursuit. Using the same game play as the adult edition--players move their pieces around the board, answering questions in hopes of collecting all six scoring wedges--this kid-friendly format includes categories just for the 8-and-older crowd. Young trivia buffs will be challenged and entertained by this lively game of wits and memory. But the real fun comes when adults try to join the game. So, Pop, what are Wakko, Yakko, and Dot better known as? The game, for two to four players or teams, includes a 20-by-20-inch folding gameboard, question-and-answer cards, dice, four tokens, and 24 scoring wedges. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great
This is a great version of the game. We got this for our 11 year old son and it is fun to play. It is easier than the regular edition (no surprise). The really nice thing is that it has multiple choice -- each question has three options to choose between. The instructions are simple and the questions are good, with a wide range of interests. Definitely recommended for children and families.

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay for very young ones
(I'm writing from the perspective of a 35 year-old.)You don't get a whole lot of questions (two small decks), and we have come across a few that do not match the category they are supposed to represent (e.g., a question about painters in the "games" category). The game seems to have been put together quickly and cheaply. You don't get plastic "pie" pieces as in the adult version, you get cardboard slices that you set on top of pictures of the pies that are drawn on the corners of the gameboard (not a major complaint but the colors of the drawings exactly match the colors of the cardboard pie-slice markers, making it hard to see them). The questions include multiple choice answers, so it's accordingly easier to get them.Of course you can simply omit the choices when reading the questions if you want to increase the level of difficulty. It's not a bad game, but it's not an excellent game either.Middle of the road.Probably best for kids under 12.

5-0 out of 5 stars FUN GAME
This is a very fun game.No offense to anyone, but the person that said that these questions are for five-year-olds is definetely wrong, unless that person is a genious. Most of the questions are NOT very easy.OK, some are kind of simple, but most are pretty hard. There are all kinds of different questions, that some people who are watch football and baseball all day would probably know.I highly reccomend this game. It's a fun way to get smart. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Too much, and makes you lose track of time!
I absolutely LOVE and RECOMMEND this toy for all children and adults. Not only do you get to test your hand/eye coordination and listening skills, but you can have a blast while doing it and challenge your friends and family. My only issue with the BOP-IT EXTREME is the volume, it's not something you can play in quiet/ without disturbing others, I had to solve the SHHHHHHHH BE QUIET issue by putting some duct tape over the speaker to muffle the nosed down a little bit, there is NO volume controls. but overall it's a very fun and unique gift to give and toy, and it makes for a great drinking or party game for adults!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Special needs Bop-It Genius
My second son has cerebral palsy and struggles with lots of skills. However, much to my surprise he excels at this crazy little game! I am a physically able bodied woman approaching 40 and my high score so far is 17. That's on a GOOD day. My son just hit his personal best score of 130. Imagine his dismay when I looked it up online and informed him that the top score possible was 250. He doesn't know what he will do after 250. Now, if only someone creative could formulate a way to MARKET this skill. ;+) If we didn't already have Bop-It Extreme I would much prefer the second edition because of the volume control and/or headphones. However, I do like the fact that we have to master some patterning and math skills to figure out the highscore from the sound beats. Happy bopping.

We're groovin', we're movin', we're boppin'! This hilarious game requires speedy reflexes and a rhythm section in the brain!Musical and spoken commands instruct players to "Twist it! Pull it!Bop it! Pass it!" Electronic impulses move the random play faster and faster; players have to keep up or risk the disappointment-filled recorded scream: "Aoowww!" Played alone or with a group, Bop It keeps score and keeps the beat. All the players have to do is keep on bopping, pulling, and twisting the button, knob, and ratchet! Cymbals crashing, bass drum booming, whistles shrieking ... who can resist? The 15-inch turquoise, black, purple, and yellow toy requires 3 AA batteries (not included). 5-0 out of 5 stars Bop It, TwistIt, and Pull It too
This game is fun for all ages.

If you like moving to the beat and testing your reflexes then you'll like Bop It.This is a fun game that is simple to play.It can be played solo or in groups of any size (just "pass it").It is educational in that it requires you to listen and follow simple directions ("bop it", "pull it", "twist it").

We gave this game to our son for his 6th birthday and he loves it.

4-0 out of 5 stars my comments for the bop it game.
i would give this game all exelent 5's for all questions on this survey, however, earlyer this morning i had a very unpleasent experience with my bop it game.

5-0 out of 5 stars By far one of my top ten
This has got to be one of the best party games of all time. My family bought this the first Christmas it came out, and we loved it instantly. Even a little kid can play it. I've found that the other versions of this came are a LOT more challenging than this one, but if you like a challenge, go ahead and get it! (These versions inclued a flick-it and spin-it option.)
At first glance, you might think, "who would want a toy shaped like Big Foot's club... and WHAT exactly is so fun about bop-ing, pulling, and twisting?"
But you'll soon find that there is a LOT of fun in bop-ing, pulling, and twisting- even my parents were baffled by this crazy game.

HOW IT WORKS:
To turn it on, you press the bop-it button. To select the options, you press the pull-it button. There is single player, multi-player, and one other function that I don't remember. To play the requested function, press the bop-it button again. A man's voice (with drum beats in the backround)will command you to do one of three things (bop-it, twist-it, or pull-it) and you must do them before time runs out. If you really have a knack for hand-listening coordination, you'll find that the drum beats will get faster and faster. If you loose- doing another thing the man didn't say- the machine will go: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!". Pretty surprising the first time, but you'll get used to it. The thing that makes it a great party game, however, is the multi-player function. It works the same as the single-player, but every so often, the man will say "pass-it". You can also play that if a person looses, they are out. There is no function for this, however, you'll have to re-turn on the multi-player function till one person's left.

This machine is very durable. It's been with us in the car several times (even though it is VERY annoying on a two plus hour trip) and has still worked after three years laying in a heap in our toy cabinet.

This toy also enhances reflexes, seeing as if you don't do the desired option in time, you will loose.

All in all, this is a GREAT purchase for under twenty dollars that your whole family will love! ... Read more

There's no need to be boggled by words. Boggle Jr. helps children learn letters, spelling, and reading while having loads of fun! This easy version of the terrifically popular adult Boggle uses pictures and matching games to allow children to make the connection between objects and their names. With two skill levels, players can challenge themselves further as they become more adept at identifying letters and words. It will seem like no time at all before kids are begging to play their parents' version of Boggle! The game, for one or more players, includes a game tray with word cover, 30 picture/word cards with 60 three- and four-letter words, and eight letter cubes. --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Just saw this game for cheaper!
I was just over at Target, and I scanned it on the price scanner and it came up as only $5.I asked a clerk if this was the sale price, and she said no, it was the regular price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Educational but not very Entertaining
Rather than call Boggle Jr a game I would call it an educational tool.It is very boring! It has several dice and each of the sides are labeled w/a letter. There are also flash cards that you put in the holder and cover up the either 3 or 4 letter words and look at the picture to spell the words with the dice. That's basically it.Whoever spells the most words correctly wins. Not the most fun game but would be great to teach or improve childs spelling.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Learning GAME opportunities
I agree that the "game" is more learning vs playing per the directions. However, a little creativity and a fun, educational time can be had.The newest version that I play with my 3.5 year old son has us splitting the dice and taking turns rolling our dice with the goal of getting one of the word's letters. He has fun rolling and searching his lot even if he doesn't roll a needed letter.Plus he can easily handle 4 dice. When you roll a "needed" letter you place it in its place. The player who fills in the last letter "wins" and gets to spell out and say the word.Sometimes we make up our own songs about the winning word. This version easily keeps him happy for a half hour at a time and he has also played his own take on his own.

Editorial Review

If you remember playing the popular original in the early '80s, you may want to get this Trivial Pursuit 20th Anniversary edition for nostalgic reasons. If you remember a lot of the last two decades, you'll want to get this edition to test yourself. Moving around the circular board, players collect wedges for correct answers to questions on "all things trivial from the past 20 years." Examples are: What tennis star was forced to do sit-ups in her crib? What became the third nation in the Western Hemisphere to hit a population of 100 million? What was the last Dune novel to be written by Frank Herbert? These and the remaining questions are distributed from a fancy new card shoe that is included. The back of the card dispenser has a small compartment for storing the tokens, pie wedges, and die. The board sports a more streamlined look these days, but still folds up into that familiar pie-shaped wedge when game play is over. --Pam Lauer ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars I agree....Questions are very hard...
Although, yes, the questions are supposed to be hard, it is not fun if noone ever gets any right!

The fun of the original and others is that some know it and others don't.This one takes too long to play becasue it takes too long to get any of the answers right.I'll stick with my other versions.

3-0 out of 5 stars Slightly disappointed
The game is still fun, but many of the questions are so incredibly inane that no one would ever know them.Who really knows who wrote the default ditty that plays when Microsoft Windows boots up?The board is low quality and flimsy; it won't even lay flat on the table, so the dice don't stay on it well.Another reviewer implied that only uneducated people would think the questions were too hard, but my husband and I are both finishing out master's degrees at Emory, and we both found the game boring and frustrating.

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
I picked this up on clearance, but I still think I spent too much. The older versions were made of much sturdier material; the cards the questions are printed on are very flimsy. The questions are okay, but many are very obscure.Trivial Pursuit is a great game and it's one of my favorites, but this version is a dud.Save your money if you have the older version; it's still a lot more fun to play. ...
