5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Game I Own, but for Hardcore Fans Only
You better know your stuff before you plan on purchasing this game and make sure you know 2-4 people who know more than they should as well about the Star Wars universe. Some of these questions are extremely tough and there are very few easy ones. I used to play the Decipher Star Wars card game, so my memory of those cards actually helped me a lot with remembering certain characters that were barely mentioned in the films. This is a truly great game that we knowledgeable Star Wars fans finally deserve.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you're a Star Wars fan, this is fun
There's nothing like getting together with fellow Star Wars fans and play this special version of Trivial Pursuit. It's great! It's just like the old Trivial Pursuit with, of course, questions only about Star Wars. When you try for a wedge, however, you have to resort to one of two DVDs that come with the game for the question. If you don't answer the question in the time limit given, your oponents can shout out the right answer - as long as they don't have the wedge - and possibly steal it from you. If you like the classic Trivial Pursuit and you happen to be a Star Wars fan and you have a couple like-minded friends or family members, this is a lot of fun and definitely worth the money. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars You can wait til May 19...
...or you could get this now and see tons of footage from Return of the Sith [sic] a few weeks early. That's really the only reason I bought it, and I was not disappointed in the slightest. Many questions are in the form of a movie clip, and there are quite a few questions on Episode 3. And none of it is from the 11/04 teaser trailer or regular trailer that's been out for months. Though if you really want to see these clips, you're best off just playing the DVDs, rather than actually playing round after round of TP with them...

5-0 out of 5 stars Okay, so I couldn't possibly have played it yet.But C'MON!
Sure, it's not even out yet and I'm rating the holy hell out of it.But C'MON!Imagine if the original Star Wars Trivial Pursuit and the game Scene It had a kid together...There's no way it wouldn't be great!

Again, I argue...C'MON! ... Read more

Editorial Review

It sounds so simple: get your team to name common words withoutvoicing a few choice descriptors. But could you describe a wristwatchwithout mentioning time, wrist, or clock? Taboo rewards those whothink--and speak--fast. The team that correctly identifies as manywords as possible in a minute (measured with an hourglass timer) wins.If a member of the opposing team, armed with the blaring buzzer, catches the clue giver using any of the taboo words, a point is deducted from the group's score. It's a good idea to separate peoplewho know each other well, because their familiarity can be too great anadvantage. If the clue is spinach, prompting with "Mom made this everyMonday" just doesn't seem fair, though it is permissible according tothe rules. Playing Taboo requires an AA battery and a sense ofhumor--you'll need them both! The timer is included. Taboo is for fouror more players. --Leah Ball ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very fun game...
Taboo is a game that I played as a kid & I never forgot about it.I remembered it being so much fun that I asked for it for Christmas several years in a row & I've finally got it.We really enjoy this game. It's so much fun for all ages & you may think it sounds really easy but you'd be amazed at how many times you actually slip & say one of the words listed on the card that you are not supposed to say. When that happensyou will get buzzed or when you pass on a card the other team will get a point. So sometimes when it's your teams turn to give clues the other team can actually come out with more points then you earned on that turn. It's such a great game that I highly recommend.

4-0 out of 5 stars A good game for about a half hour
I enjoy playing Taboo and always get a few laughs out of it, but a half hour is plenty.I find party games like Cranium, Balderdash and Rigamarole are far better at keeping a group's attention and interest.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for hours
This word game is so much fun.Any age level could play it.It really is great. My friends and family love to play it in teams or one on one...Overall, everything is good except the buzzer is annoying. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Hubby Loves It!
The only disappointment with this set is that the pieces are plastic. When we picked up the box it was quite heavy so we hoped the pieces were some sort of metal. Alas. However, they are not flimsy. Some of the weapons were a bit curved out of the box but they straightened out with a little TLC. Don't even think about getting them back into the box once you've taken them out unless you wrote down where each piece came from. The board is nothing special, just cardboard, and is a little small for the size of the pieces. If you plan on playing the game I'd suggest getting a larger board. Otherwise, it's great for display purposes. This is the nicest Star Wars chess set we've seen. Buy it, you'll love it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Star Wars Saga Chess
For those who may be interested, here is a listing of which pieces are included in this new chess set.For the silver "good" side, the pawns are Republic Clone Troopers, kneeling and holding a rifle. The two rooks are C3P0/R2D2 (together on one piece), and Padme firing a blaster from Episode II.The knights are Han Solo in Episode IV clothing and Chewbacca with bowcaster, and the bishops are Princess Leia from Episode IV and Luke Skywalker from Episode VI.The queen is a bearded Episode III Obi-Wan, and the king is Yoda flying through the air (resting on a piece of clear plastic) with a lightsaber. On the black "evil" side, the pawns are the Episode IV era stormtroopers, kneeling with rifles. The two rooks are Count Dooku and Darth Maul (holding a double-bladed lightsaber and doing a high kick).Bishops are General Grievous (two of his four arms are holding lightsabers) and a General Grievous bodyguard with staff.Knights are Jango Fett from Episode II flying with jet pack and firing double pistols, and Boba Fett from Episode VI, presumably firing his wrist cable. The queen is Darth Vader with lightsaber, and the king is Emperor Palpatine with hands poised for sith lightning ala Episode VI.All pieces are made from molded plastic, and weapons will most likely be deformed and wilted when you remove them from the package. If your lightsabers are not all twisted and warped, be surprised and thankful. Also, getting them put back into their proper (unmarked) place in the packaging is like a difficult jigsaw puzzle. In the end, however, this is a nice set and I believe it is worth the price. ... Editorial Review

Can you draw a cat? How about sketching something that conveys the word area or The English Patient? Can you do it in less than 60 seconds while your team yells the wrong answers at you and the other team is close to getting it right? Welcome to the game of Pictionary, in which players attempt to guess words from sketches made by other members of their team. The words can be objects, people, actions, places, animals, or the dreaded "difficult," although in the heat of an exciting game, even house can be difficult. Word cards are randomly selected, the timer is activated, and players begin scribbling franticly as they race to beat the clock. Correct answers are rewarded with a toss of the die and progression around the board toward victory. Pictionary veterans should note that this is an updated edition of the game, including more than 1,000 new words to challenge even the most experienced quick-draw artist. Pencils, sketchpads, and a 60-second timer are included. Pictionary is for four or more players. --Simon Leake ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for non-artists too
The thing I love about Pictionary - apart from laughing at the crazy drawings people come up with - is that you don't have to be a great artist to win. That's good for me, I can tell you! You see, it's not so much how *well* you can draw, but more how well you can get a point across in *what* you draw. I've seen people guess the right answer from some pretty simple line drawings. In fact, you'll be amazed at how some partners seem to almost sense what the answer is.

I'm sure most people know how the game is played, but just in case, here's the gist:

There are several categories that come up randomly as you progress around the Pictionary board. Sometimes one person from each team draws (we make this rule apply all the time); otherwise one person draws and their partner guesses what their drawing means. The first person to guess before the timer runs out wins the round and that team rolls to go again. That's basically it anyway.

I love this game and I highly recommend it for a good night of entertainment with friends and family.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my most prized posessions!
My friends and I have taken Pictionary to a whole new level. Most of the time it's guys against girls, and the men in my life have yet to win a game! This is a game for everyone, although I have found that the better you draw, the worse it is for you.Artists tend to take there time, and when you're faced against the timer...all bets are off!I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes to get together with friends and have a good time.

1-0 out of 5 stars Blechy Blech
Before I begin to rant-get one thing straight. I LOVE BOARD GAMES!!! So you can imagine how bad this is, if someone like me, who owns at least 200 board games, despises it. This game is just plain stupid. Also, since I tend to get nervous when I'm on timer, hated the little hourglass, pouring sand into the bottom chamber. Please, don't throw away your hard-earned money, get yourself a fun and more worthwile game, like Trivial Pursuit, or Clue. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Monopoly-Star Wars Style
It had been a while since I've taken a look at both Star Wars and Monopoly...Due to the hype for the new movie (EPS 3), I got back into Star Wars...This caused a mass compulsive buying of alot of SW merchandise. One of those items happened to be Star Wars Monopoly.
The paper money is cheap as always...it feels like it'll rip any second...it couldve been a little more durable.
The cities and settlements are sculpted great, and the game board has beautiful art on it.
The game pieces
Darth Vader
Darth Maul
Darth Sidious
Luke Skywalker
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Princess Leia
Yoda
General Grievous
are all extremely well made, bringing characters from all 6 movies.
My only gripe is that they included Grevious over someone like Han Solo or Boba Fett...I don't care for Leia or Yoda much, so I wouldnt have minded those two replaced with some old favorites.
All in all, a great buy and tons of fun to play.

5-0 out of 5 stars awesome game a mother can love!
I bought this for my two sons age 7 and 3 and they both love playing with it. So do we! I am not a video game enthusiast (the hand held kinds or the ones that the kids plop in front of the tube with), but this game really keeps the kids active, bouncing around and building a sweat. Great for the winter time blues when you need the kids to burn off some steam. Instead of them taking their fustrations out on each other...they plug in the game and take it out on the bad guys. The graphics are good and there is NO gore shown when hitting the "bad guys". You gotta love that! A great game for the whole family. We all take turns...including the grandparents! Lots of fun! A great purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars fun fighting your way through the movies
This game is my favorite Christmas present this year. The sword makes all the difference plus it's easy to take to friends cause you just plug it into their tv to play.Instead of a controller, you stand in front of the tv and slash and swing the sword to conquer the attackers. You work your way through the movies, fighting against the same opponents as the fellowship fought against in the movies.I'm still trying to win against the creature in the water at the Mines of Moria but my 14 year old sisters are hogging the game. One is still trying to win against Lurtz and one is on her way to Helm's Deep. They love it and so do I.And we all have sore arms but it's so much fun, we don't want to stop. The unit saves your place in the game. You don't have to have a memory card like with playstation. You can unplug it, take it to a friends and still be at the same stage. The graphics are not on the same level as playstation, but the fun is just as good as the best games. It's a winner, you won't go wrong to buy this for anyone from 8 years old to teenagers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great value for great fun
We bought this toy for our 7-year-old son, who's a LOTR fanatic (has lots of the action figures, we watch the movies together, read the books, etc.) but it ended up being the surprise hit for our holiday gatherings.

It's well designed; incredibly simple. We never referred to the directions. One cable obviously to go into the TV input jacks, put a battery in the turret, place the "turret" and pop in its decorative "one ring" and start swinging. Everybody in the house took a turn, many who don't consider themselves video game or LOTR aficionados.

It sometimes stops responding well, and needs "calibrating." Finding the calibration function was a bit tricky, but the onscreen directions had told us how, we'd just forgotten. Overall, an intuitive, clean design.

The only drawback so far is my sore sword arm (I'm a 45-year-old woman in indifferent physical condition) - the game is so fun, addictive really, we all played for hours. I resorted to using my nondominant arm rather than stop completely.

The adults can usually play their way through an xbox game in a few hours, but we're still stuck on Level 4 (of 8). Lots of fun, surprise tricks to learn (hit the arrowheads back at the orcs to get them). There's violence here - not bloody, and pretty cartoony. It doesn't make me tense with the 7-year-old.

The plastic sword is pretty small and short, but that turns out to be a good thing, will keep me from having repetitive stress injuries. You'll need to keep the sword put away in a house of dogs; it's eminently chewable.

The reason it's so fun is that it's a video game, but more active. It makes me want to investigate the dance pad revolution.

Have fun in Middle Earth. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Speed, not artistry, is the key to Pictionary Junior, a party game that stole the show from Charades in the '80s. The kids' version, which has been updated with hundreds of new words to draw, has hints and two levels of play. There are 144 two-sided cards. The red side is more challenging, and the blue side is easier--for younger players. Both include a theme to be read aloud and start everyone thinking on track. Teams go head-to-head to guess the word their "picturist" draws within 60 seconds. How fast can you draw an apple pie, an eyebrow, or a coin? It takes a quick hand and good guesswork to move around the game board from start to finish before the other team. A timer and easy-to-read instructions are included. --Lynne Sampson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally, a Kid's Game with Drawing!!
I like Pictionary Jr. because it is a game about drawing, one of my favorite things, for kids. It's hard for younger kids who can't read and you need about four people. But overall, I really like it.

4-0 out of 5 stars .....
The only setback to this game is if the people you are playing it with really stink at drawing. If that's so, then you're at a disadvantage and pretty much sunk. But it's fun to play anyway!

5-0 out of 5 stars MY FAVORITE MONPOLY GAME!!!!!!!
I just got this game last year and it is fun to play by myself and it is fun. I can pick what sides to be on and I always picked the darkside of the force. I recomend this game for any hard core star wars fans like me.

3-0 out of 5 stars Where are all our favorite characters?
Star Wars Monopoly - great idea.Leaving out Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C3-PO, Yoda, Jabba, Boba Fett, and / or a Stormtrooper seems inexcusable. Why did they include a TIE Fighter Pilot, Tusken Raider, and Grand Moff Tarkin?Did they even ask the fans what characters they'd want?Great idea, just poorly executed.Hasbro, we expect more from you.

3-0 out of 5 stars For a Star Wars junkie, perhaps...
The mechanics of the game are generally true to Monopoly.I really love the Star Wars films and I have read fair amount of Star Wars fiction, but I found the unique place names a tad too obscure to make play easy the first time around.

If you have a die-hard Star Wars fan who knows all the names of all the characters, and the planets they are from, this is probably the game for them.

Guesstures turns up the heat on the tired game of charades with a few modernizations. Good, quick pantomiming is still the thing, but now teams need to act out and guess four words in a matter of seconds. The "mimer-timer," designed like a movie scene board, controls everything. The actor draws four word cards and places them from easiest to hardest in the timer unit for each scene. After the arm swings down for "Action," time is rapidly eaten away and so are cards as the performer gestures wildly like a silent movie actor. When the cast guesses the word, the actor grabs the card before the "mimer-timer" does. Whew! It's a lot to think about. Each word is rated based on difficulty, so whatever cards the team correctly guesses and the actor manages to seize are tallied up and recorded. --Lynne Sampson ... Read more

What food gives Popeye strength? What country calls its native inhabitants "aborigines"? What street sport sees cuts and scrapes from falls called "munchies"? Answer correctly and you just might score a wedge in the junior version of the wildly popular Trivial Pursuit. Using the same game play as the adult edition--players move their pieces around the board, answering questions in hopes of collecting all six scoring wedges--this kid-friendly format includes categories just for the 8-and-older crowd. Young trivia buffs will be challenged and entertained by this lively game of wits and memory. But the real fun comes when adults try to join the game. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great
This is a great version of the game. We got this for our 11 year old son and it is fun to play. It is easier than the regular edition (no surprise). The really nice thing is that it has multiple choice -- each question has three options to choose between. The instructions are simple and the questions are good, with a wide range of interests. Definitely recommended for children and families.

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay for very young ones
(I'm writing from the perspective of a 35 year-old.)You don't get a whole lot of questions (two small decks), and we have come across a few that do not match the category they are supposed to represent (e.g., a question about painters in the "games" category). The game seems to have been put together quickly and cheaply. You don't get plastic "pie" pieces as in the adult version, you get cardboard slices that you set on top of pictures of the pies that are drawn on the corners of the gameboard (not a major complaint but the colors of the drawings exactly match the colors of the cardboard pie-slice markers, making it hard to see them). The questions include multiple choice answers, so it's accordingly easier to get them.Of course you can simply omit the choices when reading the questions if you want to increase the level of difficulty. It's not a bad game, but it's not an excellent game either.Middle of the road.Probably best for kids under 12.

This is a very fun game.No offense to anyone, but the person that said that these questions are for five-year-olds is definetely wrong, unless that person is a genious. Most of the questions are NOT very easy.OK, some are kind of simple, but most are pretty hard. There are all kinds of different questions, that some people who are watch football and baseball all day would probably know.I highly reccomend this game. It's a fun way to get smart. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Kim Possible is a Unique and Fun Family Game
I bought this game for my for son when he was 5 1/2 and he still plays it regularly over 1 year later. It is a fun and unique game.Moving all the game pieces does add an interesting twist that keeps the game fresh. Each player must collect all the cards and complete a mission then capture Dr. Drakken. The game does well to make use of the scenes and characters from the TV show and would be a big hit for any Kim Possible fan.

We had to play a couple of times and read the instructions over to get all the rules right, but it is not that complicated once you get the hang of the flow.

Definitely a great family game for kids 5+ that the adults can enjoy as well.

4-0 out of 5 stars Directions are confusing - but the game is fun and unique
I bought this because my son is a big Kim fan.I admit to being totally overwhelmed when I read the directions for this game.I think I had to read through them three times to finally "get it."I think the reason for this is because this game is quite different from any other game I have ever played.I'd say this is a very unique game set-up - I think another reviewer did a good job describing how the game is played. You are a different "character" potentially each time you have a turn.I really applaud the manufacturer for coming up with a neat twist on traditional board games.Once we started playing, it was very fun.I'd definitely recommend this for any Kim fan 6 and up.I think this game would be too complicated for younger kids.

5-0 out of 5 stars Random Character Control -- Best Feature
My kids, aged 7 and 4, are Kim Possible fans, and they both love this game.

Since there is almost no information given in the product description, I will write about how the game is played. This will give you an idea of what you're buying.

There are two versions of the game you can play: The Basic version for younger children and beginners, and The Advanced version for children wanting more challenge. In the Basic version, each player is given "A Mission" to complete. To win the game, you must complete your mission, obtaining four cardsfrom four different regions of the board, and then capture Dr. Drakken.

The best feature of the game is this: You do not have a single playing piece throughout the game. The players must use a spinner to determine whether they will be using Kim, Ron, or Rufus on each turn.On one turn, you might be able to move the Kim Possible piece next to a card you need for your mission. On your next turn, you might spin Ron and not be able to use the Kim piece -- or perhaps another player will spin Kim and move her away.Meanwhile, if you spin Dr. Drakken, you can move him to random spots on the board, keeping him away from other players who might be ready to capture him.

In the Advanced version, walls are added to the board, so that you cannot move as freely from region to region. Also, the cards are not as easy to acquire.Once you have found a mission card, you must roll a specific number on a die in order to keep it. Kim has the die with the best numbers; Rufus has the weakest die.In the end, you must roll a 4 to capture Drakken.(If you are trying to get him with Rufus, good luck!)Moving more than one piece into the space with your mission card or Drakken improves your chances, since you can add up the dice rolls, but remember, the other players will be "stealing" your players on their turns, possibly moving them away from where you want them.

I have rated the game a 4 on educational value, because the advanced version requires some good strategy.Overall, I'm glad we got the game; we have a lot of fun playing it. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Baby boomers and Gen Xers who are stumped by questions in the main edition of Trivial Pursuit may find this SNL Edition right up their alley. This edition follows the premise of the original game, where players roll the die and move around the board answering trivia questions to score a "wedge" of a pie. The object is to score a wedge from each of the six category areas to complete the pie and win the game. However, the less dry SNL Edition requires players to answer questions about the Emmy-award winning late-night show Saturday Night Live rather than testing their knowledge of random factoids. Players can choose from eight different playing pieces, which are cleverly shaped as some of the most recognizable comedic characters on the show, such as Molly Shannon playing Mary Katherine Gallagher, Dan Ackroyd as a Conehead, or John Belushi as the Samurai Deli owner. The game includes over 2,000 questions in six different category areas, which includes 450 interactive questions located on the accompanying DVD. This game makes for a hilarious night of reliving favorite sketches, impressions, and mock commercials from this 30-season show. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Well, ya, it's "educational"!
Okay, so it's not really educational, however, my older kids, who are big SNL fans, have gotten a good sense of the older shows from the game. We've had a blast playing this together.

The little game pieces are SNL characters, however, they are mostly recent (Land Shark and Conehead are the only older ones.) The pieces are CUTE though! Really funny.

One disappointing thing is that while the DVD plays a portion of a skit, it doesn't play the whole skit. Surely, in a DVD (part of a $40 game!), they could have included entire skits.

I like the questions in general, and found the game challenging, but not overwhelmingly challenging. I think it's great for the average SNL fan.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hello! Trivial Pursuit is supposed to be difficult!
Everyone wants to complain about how trivial and difficult the questions are, but have you ever played normal trivial pursuit? You have to be a major geek to get some of the questions right. I had a difficult time playing this, because i was not a baby boomer, and i come from the Darrel Hammond, Jimmy Fallon era. The farthest back I go are the Mango days.
As for the game pieces, they chose some of the most memorable characters from the show to be featured on the pieces and gameboards. There are some memorable African American characters for sure, but the game company had to make a decision out of all of them! It would be challenging. I'm sure they pondered Gumby or Stevie Wonder or James Brown just to name a few.
For anyone that has knowledge of only a few of the SNL seasons, you might want to refresh yourself by going over the Anthony Michael Hall days (I didn't even know he was on the show!). If you have limited knowledge, I suggest a game such as Scene It. It is much easier!
A must buy for any SNL fiend! Good Luck!

1-0 out of 5 stars !!Buy the "Best of" DVDs instead"
Man this game sucks.I LOVE SNL, but the questions here are SO trivial.I was looking forward to getting this for Christmas and was very excited when I opened it.It all went downhill from there.I think the pieces are a good idea, but they're ugly. The DVD clues are dumb and ineffective.I was playing with my dad (who is legally blind). He couldn't read the questions on the tv.I think it would have been better if the dvd was narrated.Overall, the game sucked, the questions were silly and it wasn't fun at all!As an aside, I noticed that there are no African Americans on the box or the board. One could argue that Eddie Murphy or Chris Rock were more successful SNL stars than, say, Cheri Oteri.Whatever.Game sucks.Costs too much.Stay away. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Timeless and classic.
Scrabble is probably one of the games I remember playing first as an older kid; and the Spanish version was what I played at family gatherings - it's part of my heritage. It was exciting to find it on the net!I called various toys r us stores and was only able to get it through the net.Great game.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Old Version of Spanish Scrabble!
I'm bilingual (Spanish/English) but my elderly mother's command of English is limited. Decades ago we bought a "foreign edition" Scrabble set, manufactured by Selchow & Righter Co. of Bay Shore, NY. Our set is truly a Spanish version, lacking "k" but with "ñ," "ll," and "rr" (the latter two no longer individual letters in Spanish) and with plenty of the more common vowels in the Spanish language. The letter values differ from the English values, commensurate with their degree of usage in each language. The last copyright notice on the Spanish game is from 1953. We bought it in the early 70's. Why didn't Hasbro follow this edition for their Spanish version? It is definitely a more accurate and educational one!

5-0 out of 5 stars Spanish can be better
I live in Puerto Rico. My friends and I usually play in both in English and Spanish at the same time. But if you what to learn Spanish I will recommend playing the game entirely en Español. I will give you the pros and cons of this version:

Pros:
1. You can make higher scores in Spanish. K-8 points, W-8 points, Q-8 points but much easier to use, LL-8 points, RR-8 points, Ñ-8 points, and it is much easier to get rid of all your letters than in English.
2. Spanish words are written just as you pronounce them (that is why there are no Spanish spelling bees).
3. You can learn Spanish in a fun way, plus the game can be used in English and it has a couple more vowels.

Cons:
1. There are no really good Spanish dictionaries, other than the Spanish Royal Academy Dictionary (Amazon has it at a reasonable price). And no Spanish Scrabble dictionary is to be found. This will make it hard on verb conjugation.

Whether you play it in Spanish or English or both the Spanish tiles are definitely better. Go ahead and try this version. Come on, you know you what to. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Simple Yet Exciting
I got this for my 7 year old nephew's birthday, and he loves it. I only vaguely remember the old classic version, so I cannot make a comparison. But standing on its own, the game is simple to play, yet involves stragey, and has plenty of excitement. My nephew is also improving his counting skills. And the game is only $10! Great for kids, good for adults if they don't compare it to the orginal version.

5-0 out of 5 stars we enjoyed this game but we never played original version
I'm glad I didn't read the other reviews before I bought this board game as a present for my son.I would have worried about it being "cheesy" and "not worth the money."

We have never played any other version of this game so I guess we don't know what we are missing from the original.

I thought the game was simple to learn but still had plenty of excitement as it was hard to tell who would win up until the last moment. The bright colored animals and game board make this game visually appealing and I especially appreciated the educational information enclosed about the animals used for pawns in the game.

If you are looking for a game that is fun to play with your kids this is an excellent choice. If you are looking for the original classic for adult play it seems like you would not be happy with this version of the game.

1-0 out of 5 stars Nothing "Classic" about this...
Calling this "Classic Parcheesi" is like naming a brand of Lemonade full of chemicals "Country Time". Parcheesi is a great game, but don't waste your money on this gimmicky hack-job. Get the true classic ...called "Deluxe Parcheesi". ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Sort of cheaply made
All the Simpson's trivia is fun, but the quality of the game is poor.Seems like it was made so cheaply so the Simpson's franchise could suck all the profit out of it.I read the other reviews and decided to buy the game only because of the buy one get one free offer. The spinner barely spins.I think I need to go buy a 10 sided dice.

2-0 out of 5 stars A Huge Disappointment
The Game of Life: Simpson's Edition is a failure of concept and design. The quality of the game is so low as to be almost nonexistent. The board and the spinner are terminally flimsy--the spinner almost being useless it is so unsmooth and rickety. To require assembly of all the houses and everything every time one plays the game is a slight against anyone with patience or capacity for joy.The game itself isn't very fun--differing from classic Life, in that its not very fun.I love the Simpson's.I hate this game. With my whole heart.

2-0 out of 5 stars LOVE the Simpsons, but this is cheap & poorly constructed
Let me start off by saying that I adore the Simpsons, and I just love playing Life, so I was thrilled to get this game for Christmas. When it came time to play it, however, I was deeply disappointed.Maybe I am spoiled because I have one of the great old Life boards, but this game is super flimsy. The buildings don't fit in the slots on the board right and come out while you are trying to play and even the spinner seems like it's going to come off when you spin it (it did once while we played it) and it doesn't spin smoothly. In the old game of Life, when you are done you can just fold up the board and put it away.In this version, you have to take the whole thing apart- all the buildings, bridges, the spinner and all to make it fit in the box, then reassemble it when you want to play again (which in my case, probably won't happen).

The rules are a little different, and not quite as fun, but I do have to say that some of the cards and spaces are pretty funny, which is it's saving grace. It was a great idea, just not executed very well.I would only recommend this to diehard Simpson's memorabilia fans, just not anyone who actually wants to play the game. ...
