Editorial Review

Grrr! Getting aggravated yet? Aggravation is the classic marble race around a star shape, from base to home sweet home. It's always tempting to take a shortcut, but beware! An opponent might be waiting for just such an opportunity to aggravate. By landing on another player's marble, anyone can send that marble back to its base to start over. And this could be a serious setback, since the object is to get all four marbles back home before the others do. Each player rolls the die and moves a marble around the board, choosing along the way whether to aggravate another player, take a shortcut (or super shortcut!), or just try to quietly slide by (good luck with that approach!). The game includes 24 marbles, 18.5-by-18.5-inch game board, die, and instructions. For two to six players. --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars No Way
You can get the old vintage aggravation games on Ebay for 10 or less and theres also some hand-made wooden boards as well. These new versions dont hold a candle to the old ones, Just as old tvs seem better than some of the new ones.

5-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed in the new game look
I have given my points based on the old aggravation game. I wish that I could find the old game which was better made and looked better. If there is such a place that sells this game please notify me ASAP. I will not waste my money on the new and so-called-updated game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Yes, it's cheaply made... but it's our favorite game!
We got this game for my daughter's 8th birthday, and it has quickly become our favorite game.In some ways, it's like Sorry, although the board is a bit more tortuous to get around. Also, it allows you to play with 6 players (although we've never played with more than 4).

What I like the best is that this game is completely unpredictable.Yes, you could have the best strategy in the world, and be on the verge of winning, but then the roll of the dice can allow somebody who is much further behind come back and unexpectedly win!

The other great things it the portability of this game.We are about to go on vacation, and all you really need is the board, marbles and dice. It's definitely coming with us.We LOVE this game. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars See Through Tiles
You can totally see through my tiles.I bought mine a couple of years ago.Model number on box says, 04623.Looks to me like there was a bad batch of them made. When I was younger, I had one that was fine.

The game is fun, reasonably priced, and educational for the kids as well.

I like it because it doesn't take long to play, and several people can all get a turn within an hour.

I have written to Hasbro regarding the tiles. Not sure why I waited 2 years to do so, but hopefully they will make good on this problem.

4-0 out of 5 stars NEEDS MORE TILE SPACES
As it is, you can only create words 8 letters long. They should make it at least 10-12 letters. Some have complained that the tiles can be seen through. It's nonsense - no matter what lighting conditions you CAN'T see through them. Maybe it was a problem in earlier editions, but mine is just fine.

1-0 out of 5 stars waste of money
The tiles are transparent. There is absolutely no guessing the word your opponent has chosen because you can see right through the tiles.I took masking tape and put several layers over the back of the tile and I could still see through it.I colored it with a permanent marker and could STILL see through it.My mom can play with my daughter in her basement but that is about it!!Would not recommend this item to anyone unless you have money to throw away. ... Editorial Review

Remember getting red-faced from those truths, or gigglingwith your friends over the dares while playing Truth or Dare? Thosedays are back with Jenga Truth or Dare. There are 18 red dare blocks,18 black truth blocks, and with the 18 blank write-your-own blocks, the game can get interesting. With questions like "Describe your worstmoment at a party." and dares such as "Slow dance with a broom." thereare many laughs to be had. The strategy is to remove a block anywherebelow the highest finished story, complete the required truth or dareon the block, and restack it on the top without causing the whole towerto tumble. The last one to put a block on without making it fall is thewinner. It's simple and great fun for groups, although you only needtwo people to play. The natural blocks are reusable if you use a leadpencil and write lightly. (Ages 12 to adult) --Victoria Caldwell ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for two players.
It is a nice toy for couples/partners.The write on blocks make for the chance of more detailed questions.Best played when eating fondue and drinking wine/champagne.

5-0 out of 5 stars Thrilling
One of the best games that does'nt involve a board. The jenga blocks have all different truths and dares that will keep you and your friends laughing for hours. You can even write your own dares and truths on the white blocks to add some dimension. This is a must play game for teenage girls and boys who are looking for fun.Gather some friends and get ready to swap clothing, expose crushes, and more.Get this game. You will not regret it!

5-0 out of 5 stars truth or dare Jenga
I've played this game at partys and it made me go out and buy it because it was so fun. It is a great party game for people age 14 and up because there is some kissing involved in one of the game pieces. It is not a game that you would want to play with your grand parents, just friends. I personally can't get enough of this game. It is really fun. Thank you ... Read more

  • For 1 or more players, age 8 to adult.
  • The Game Folio Edition plays the same as Yahtzee with the benefit of the felt-lined case, quiet rolling cup and dice holder that aides play in travel or public.

5-0 out of 5 stars Like the original Deluxe Yahtzee but in a portable size.
I originally resisted buying this version of Yahtzee but eventually gave in because I love this game so much. The Folio Edition zips open to reveal a handy pocket sleeve for both instruction manual and a Deluxe Yahtzee scorepad, with room for another scorepad or two, a loop holding a pencil with "Yahtzee" in beautiful, shiny red letters and a sturdy built-in tray lined with red felt at the bottom. Dice holder compartments are conveniently positioned below the tray's recessed roll area. The dice are an attractive cream color, nicely designed and sized with bold black pips, and rounded corners. The dice cup is well shaped and sized, shaded a beautiful red on the outside and felt-lined black inside. The zipper handle is covered with a firm, spongy material with the "Yahtzee" logo in raised letters making the zipper easier to grasp when opening or closing the folio. A wonderful touch!

Its portable size ensures that you can take it and play anywhere, although the Folio when closed is a bit bulky. The game description claims that the felt-lined dice cup and dice tray softens the noise the dice makes, making play quieter. This is true for the dice cup and the dice tray bottom, but the dice tray is made of a hard plastic, and if the dice hit the wall of the tray, it is slightly loud, but this is only a minor complaint, and makes less noise when fewer dice are tossed in the tray or if they are tossed gently. When you are finished playing, the game zips closed with ease and the dice fit in the dice holder compartments, but I prefer to keep them in a small plastic zipper bag designed for dice stored in the dice cup.

Overall, the game has a classy and sophisticated look and feel; the makers did a splendid job with the Yahtzee Folio Game, it is beautiful! The sturdy design and ease of play of this edition is excellent for both Yahtzee lovers and first time players at home or anywhere you wish to play.

5-0 out of 5 stars Take It Anywhere!
This is one of the games my friends and I played to death. It is very fun and simple, yet having some mathematical skills on probabilities doesn't hurt. The purpose of the game is to fill your score sheet as much as possible by making the different combinations required. The more you do the higher the score, and multiple yahtzee's (five of a kind) scores you bonuses. There are different editions of this game but this one is the best. Here is why:

REDESIGNED:This edition of Yahtzee comes with a felt-lined cup and tray. Remember how loud it is to use the plastic cup in the original edition? Well now it's very quiet and the tray keeps the dice from going everywhere. The dice are over size which is a nice touch. It also has a dice keeper where you can place the dice you will not re-roll.

PLAYING MATERIALS: The folio comes with a score pad and an engraved pencil. But it also has room to store more pencils and pads. You can even store a Triple Yahtzee pad if you have any. Triple Yahtzee is kind of a Yahtzee Advanced that isn't sold anymore although you can still find the scoring pads and instructions on the net (which is all you need).

PORTABLE: You can drag this game anywhere. And since you can play solo it's great to take to your doctor's appointment. That is if you don't mind people asking where you got that cool Yahtzee game. It's perfect for travel and the zippered case is very nice and durable.

Overall the game is great and this folio edition is a must buy for any Yahtzee fan. By the way I saw someone once roll three yahtzees in a row and finish with ten yahtzees in a six round game. I know you can do better... if you try. Have Fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun on the run!!
My step-daughter and I recently had to take a fairly long flight with a 2-hour "lay-over".I bought this version of Yahtzee to take along since we both love the game.It was perfect for use on the flight because it was neatly self contained; dice, score sheets, padded dice shaker and well lined pocket to shake them in to. Since it was so easy to take anywhere, we rarely got bored when my husband had business to take care of.Watching her use strategy and taking what she learned from previous games was great.....it taught me a few things as well. This is a perfect travel companion.I'm buying another one for my son. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars This game ROCKS!!
First time I played this game, I borrowed it from my 11 year old cousin to bring to a get together with some of my old high school friends (I'm 22). My friends and I couldn't put the magazines down.We played for a good hour and a half and laughed the whole time.We did have to add magazines of our own, but that just made the game more interesting.I highly recommend it to girls young and old.PS. My 11 year old cousin LOVES it!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Classic Game
This Game really taught me a lot about the world of business and it is a great game overall. You have to play this game with a competitive spirit and with others who like to win.

I still have the original version from long ago and I bought this one to see how its been changed.I think that anyone who gets serious about board games should own this.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not as bad as others think
So this isn't the greatest game in the world, but it isn't the worst either. My sister and I have had fun playing it the past couple days. Its a lot like Monopoly but is a lot shorter. It adds to the auction the classic "You're fired" from the Apprentice, which is fun to say to your opponent to get them out of the bidding. However, it does take a while to set up and the rules were confusing at first.I would advise buying it from Wal-Mart instead of on here, since I got the game for only $17.50 there.

1-0 out of 5 stars PS
So I didn't finish what I needed to say so here it is. I am selling this item on Ebay for a penny if anybody wants it. It is very useful for making a fire or a foot rest. Maybe you could use the T pieces to make a key chain or a necklace so you can always remember that you played a game that was too boring and advanced for you. The game has never been played before, I tried but had an aneurism. Please buy this game and HAPPY NEW YEAR! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best movie-themed games we have seen
After Winnie the Pooh Candyland, a Sesame Street game, and multiple movie-themed versions of Monopoly and trivia games, my expectations of this game were rather low.I was pleasantly surprised by the Shrek 2 Twisted Fairy Tale game.

In addition to rolling dice in battle, some of the activity cards require singing songs, doing an impression of a movie character, or making sound effects. This game is much more interesting than other games that simply require spinning, rolling, or drawing a card to move around the board.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun Family Game
This 4 player game involves players in battle where they have to roll the dice to win and either go foward or backward depending on the roll of the dice. There are activity cards that require the player to make Shrek character noises or sing Shrek songs. Overall it is a fun game a little lengthy for the younger ones, I would recommend it as an addition to your game collection! ... Read more

Editorial Review

If you remember playing the popular original in the early '80s, you may want to get this Trivial Pursuit 20th Anniversary edition for nostalgic reasons. If you remember a lot of the last two decades, you'll want to get this edition to test yourself. Moving around the circular board, players collect wedges for correct answers to questions on "all things trivial from the past 20 years." Examples are: What tennis star was forced to do sit-ups in her crib? What became the third nation in the Western Hemisphere to hit a population of 100 million? What was the last Dune novel to be written by Frank Herbert? These and the remaining questions are distributed from a fancy new card shoe that is included. The back of the card dispenser has a small compartment for storing the tokens, pie wedges, and die. The board sports a more streamlined look these days, but still folds up into that familiar pie-shaped wedge when game play is over. --Pam Lauer ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars I agree....Questions are very hard...
Although, yes, the questions are supposed to be hard, it is not fun if noone ever gets any right!

The fun of the original and others is that some know it and others don't.This one takes too long to play becasue it takes too long to get any of the answers right.I'll stick with my other versions.

3-0 out of 5 stars Slightly disappointed
The game is still fun, but many of the questions are so incredibly inane that no one would ever know them.Who really knows who wrote the default ditty that plays when Microsoft Windows boots up?The board is low quality and flimsy; it won't even lay flat on the table, so the dice don't stay on it well.Another reviewer implied that only uneducated people would think the questions were too hard, but my husband and I are both finishing out master's degrees at Emory, and we both found the game boring and frustrating.

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
I picked this up on clearance, but I still think I spent too much. The older versions were made of much sturdier material; the cards the questions are printed on are very flimsy. The questions are okay, but many are very obscure.Trivial Pursuit is a great game and it's one of my favorites, but this version is a dud.Save your money if you have the older version; it's still a lot more fun to play. ... Editorial Review

Show your steady hands and elementary structural knowledge in abattle against gravity when you play Jenga, a game of luck andprecision. First, assemble the 54 rectangular, hardwood blocks--smoothand shaped just right for stacking--into a three-piece-wide, 18-storytower. Then take turns removing the three-inch blocks one at time, using caution to keep the structure intact while stacking the removedpieces back on the top of the tower. As the tower rises, its basebegins to teeter--one wrong move and it collapses in a heap! Gameover.

Jenga allows adults to play architect and children to perfecttheir stacking skills and hand-eye coordination. There is no limit onthe number of participants--it can even be played solo. Butbeware: Jenga can be addictive. The instructions declare a 36-storystructure to be the mark of a real pro. How tall can you go? --CateBick ... Read more

You can touch other blocks to find a loose one - but if you move a block out of place, you must fix it (using one hand only) before touching another block.
  • While stacking, always complete one 3 - block story before starting a higher one. 4. Your turn ends 10 seconds after you stack your block-or as soon as the player to your left touches a block. 5. Keep removing and stacking blocks until the tower falls.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jenga
This game is really cool! I played it in school a few times. It is a little hard putting the 54 blocks into the box. So, my friends help me. When you play Jenga on the table and it falls, it's really loud. We don't know how to win but it is cool. It's oodles of fun. I must have it!- Cristian Mojica, Age 9

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to learn, hard to master!!!
In this era of mobile PSPs, x-boxes and gamecubes, a classic game like Jenga not only continues to survive, but thrive!

My first experience was with my 2 nieces. I had never seen them before and since it always snows in MI, we couldn't go out. To break the awkward silence and pass time, my 4 year old pulled this tower of fun out. For next several hours we played this awsome game and bonded with each other. It was most fun I had with kids.

Ok, now the specifics. The game works by first arranging all pieces to make a tower and then making each person pull out one piece at a time and put it on the top of the tower. Simple huh?
Well as I said it is easy to learn but the idea is to select a piece that can be pulled out without causing a collapse and this is where men are separated from boys (and boys usually win!).
You can actually learn to strategize your game and pull each piece in a sequence to make your tower taller.
Each piece is made of wood and has the right size, finish and weight to support quite a bit of weight.
If you are looking for a game that doesn't entail mindless button pushing or shooting those ugly monstors on tv screen, go for this one. Your kids will love it and hopefully you too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for the whole family
Chenga is a great game for the whole family.Any family member old enough to understand the idea of trying not to knock down the tower is old enough to play, which usually means anyone over three. There is a good deal of skill for children to learn about being slow, calm, and careful when pulling and placing pieces, which makes this game very educational, at least in the sense of learning self-mastery.The game is also fun and suspenseful, as each time someone takes a turn, everyone hold their breath a little while they wait to see if the tower will fall.A super-nice feature of Chenga is that it allows the entire family to play the same game, without subjecting older members to silly baby games like Candy Land (which is nice, but gets old). And best of all, Chenga is great value for money. This is a game that doesn't cost much to begin with, is super-durable (almost impossible to break), and is unlikely to be out-grown at any time. ...
