I am a Toys R Us kid!
Literally, they pay my paycheck. hehe.. I had this given to me on a lark this Christmas. It's really a marketing ploy disguised as Monopoly. But the thing is it's a GOOD marketing ploy. They want you to become familar with the new layout of Toys R Us that was completed in 2001, when this game was completed. It's an excellent game however, and really fun for a worker from TRU. I think unless you're a huge TRU fan or you've visited the Times Square store, I would say elect for a different version of the game.

This version of monopoly just goes to show you how popular and fun monopoly is. If a store such as harley davidson and toys R us have monopoly games and organizations like MLB, NFL, NHL, and hockey have monopolys its very cool. I think this monopoly proves my point straight. Mission Command Sea Game Best of the bunch!
This new version of the earlier issue of "Carrier Strike" is a slimmed down, less complicated issue that improves on re-play ability. It becomes obvious immediately that the Harpoon missle is the most valuable component in the game. There is also a slight strategy to the placement of the Carrier and the two barrier islands and in the wake of what happened to the Japanese at Midway you would be wise to keep all fighters scrambled at all times.The use of sidewinder missles in plane to plane dogfighting is of little value, increasing your die roll by one or a re-roll of one die only. (They could have done better) and it is basically useless to attack any plane that is flying without a harpoon missle (the only real offensive threat) . The two destroyers in the game are used for defense and once they are sunk future harpoon attacks will most likely end in victory, which is the sinking of the enemy carrier with two harpoon missle hits. Overall it is an entertaining game that can be concluded in about a half hour of combat. Probably the best of the three games due to the Sea/Air aspects and if you want to buy only one this is the one to get. ... Read more

A pain to play and not even any fun.
We love board games in our house and play them all the time.I think games are a great way to bond as a family and we can have fun playing about any type of board game.

This one was simply a pain to play though.The directions were complicated for the kids and for the adults.We honestly had a hard time keeping it all straight.There is also the matter of having to take your turn while this big cube is spinning in the middle of the board and once it falls off then it messes up the board and you have to frantically search for all the pieces that went flying.The instructions say that if you get knocked off the board you have to go to the tomb until your next turn.

I didn't think the game was ever going to end and it is nearly impossible to win with the whole spinning cube mess.I know my kids thought the cube spinner was neat but I might as well just let them play with that part of it because I haven't heard them asking to play with the game again (thankfully).

I am not one to give bad reviews and I hate to be so negative about this game.I'm sure someone thought it was a good idea and it could have been really neat if it was done right.I would just strongly suggest if you think you would like this game that you find a way to try it out first before investing your hard earned cash.

Fun Game
Santa brought this for my 7 year old son (the little Mummy lover of the family) and we have had lots of fun playing the game!The only negative is that you have to spin the big cube with a rip cord then balance it on a block so it spins while you take your turn----that's a bit frustrating for little hands but otherwise I would recommend this game. ... Frustrated Mom
VideoNow black and white was great... until the colored version came out.Now we can't find any black and white discs!May as well trash the black and white version.

Cool idea, but not durable
This toy is a great idea, but it does not work well. When you touch it, it skips. Also, the screen is small and low-res.
It has its good points too, it is cheap and light weight.
I would buy video now color or one of those new juice-boxs.

Great, but the color one is much better
I bought this for my 7 yr. old daughter last year and it was a really big hit.A couple of the movies broke, but she got her use out of them.The screen is small, but it's a cheap way to entertain while out.I bought this same one at Walmart for 20.00.I also bought a color one for only 50.00 at Walmart.They hold up to kids pretty well...I have a 8, 7, 6 and 2 yr old.You have to be careful with the movies because they are like DVD's.They scatch and break in two if mishandled.The "player" itself really holds up well.The movies are only about 20 minutes long and are pretty much like a TV show version in black and white.I would definetly get this again. ... WORTH$3 to $5
My six year old got a Barrel of Monkeys for Christmas.After dumping them on the table and trying to hook them, we both found it a bit difficult and frustrating and put it aside.And then I recalled similar feelings from my childhood.After reflecting on this, I decided, instead, not to dump them on a hard surface, but to hook them from inside the barrel.This is more fun and the ability to hook more than a very few becomes attainable.My six year old is now having a great time with the monkeys and has been able to hook seven at a time.If you're frustrated or bored--try hooking them from inside the barrel--still challenging (especially the last one!) and much more fun.

Pne of the best toys ever.
I started thinking of this toy when a friend of mine had a child. I remember the hours of fun I had with my barrel of monkeys and for the price, this is a great toy. It must be purchased for all children of America.

It is inexpensive, and will provide hours of creative play.

Don't buy it
Lousy game play, cheap product and very superficial values are communicated through the game.

Wow!
When my Friend came over to spend the night,so brought this game over.I was very very surprised of how fun this game is!What you do is you match the clothes from each Bratz (You will understand when you get it).I love this and I guess you will too! Very fun game!
We do not yet own this game, but our neighbor does and we will be getting our own very soon.I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old and they both have lots of fun playing this game with their neighbor.It is a very good memory game and my 5 year old understands the rules.I would recommend this game to anyone. ... One of the best movie-themed games we have seen
After Winnie the Pooh Candyland, a Sesame Street game, and multiple movie-themed versions of Monopoly and trivia games, my expectations of this game were rather low.I was pleasantly surprised by the Shrek 2 Twisted Fairy Tale game.

In addition to rolling dice in battle, some of the activity cards require singing songs, doing an impression of a movie character, or making sound effects.This game is much more interesting than other games that simply require spinning, rolling, or drawing a card to move around the board.

Fun Family Game
This 4 player game involves players in battle where they have to roll the dice to win and either go foward or backward depending on the roll of the dice. There are activity cards that require the player to make Shrek character noises or sing Shrek songs. Overall it is a fun game a little lengthy for the younger ones, I would recommend it as an addition to your game collection! ... Read more

Second chance for "Last Chance"
"Yahtzee Deluxe Poker" is actually a re-release of Hasbro's "Last Chance" which came out years ago. Although "Last Chance" was a good game, it eventually wound up in the bargain bin. I guess Hasbro is hoping that it will succeed now if the words "Yahtzee" and "Poker" are pasted onto it.
Players start with a stake used to bid on the chance to roll for the bonus card. Bonus cards show a dice combination, number of rolls allowed to make it and the payoff for making the combo. After the auction to roll for the card, the other players can bet for or against the roller. The roller makes his rolls and puts matching dice onto the bonus card.
If he does not make the combo, he loses his bid to the bank and players who bet against him are paid from the bank. The matching dice stay on the card and players bid again on the chance to roll the combo (only now the combo will be easier to make since it is partially completed.)
If the roller succeeds, he gets his bid back plus the card's payoff plus bets made against him. Those who bet on his success and won are paid from the bank.
To win, a player must have the most money and at least one bonus card won. This prevents someone from simply sitting on the sidelines and betting against other players' tough rolls.
If you're desperate to win a card, you can call "Last Chance" during the auction to automatically win the bid. You must put all you money on the line and roll. If you miss, you're out of money and out of the game.
I like "Last Chance" mostly because it minimizes down time between turns. Everyone can join in the auction and the non-rollers can bet so there's something to do every turn for all players. ... Read more

Mission Command Air Game
I absolutely enjoy this game.I have even run it at Gaming Conventions for other people to experience and enjoy.Since running it the first of March, I have 3 guys looking franticly trying to find it.
For even more fun lay out 4 boards arranged 2x2You can run 8 pairs of fighters and travel twice the distance!!!Big fun.

Dog-fight dog of a game
While I wasn't expecting much, I was still disappointed. The game has little to do with simulating aerial combat, as one of the features of the game is a "wrap around" board: planes that leave one side of the map enter the other side. So the game is an exercise in guessing where your opponent might randomly end up. Very little strageizing, too much luck.

The game is ok with my young kids though, as it gives them practice adding numbers.

The board is not very well made, experiencing alot of warping.

The planes are very cool though. It would actually be helpful if the board were smaller so that you wouldn't have to reach over it and knock other pieces out of place ... Read more
