Our Daughter Fell in Love!!
We got these along with the Country Market Set for our daughter's 3rd birthday and she immediately fell in love!She isn't a dollhouse, Barbie type of girl, but she loves her animals and these are PERFECT!!!They are SO detailed and just darling!!!A must have for any of the Calico Critters Houses!!

The BEST Toys Ever!!!
My grandma and parents bought me this set along with the Whiskers Cat Family and a few of the Calico Critter twins sets. These completely posable, fuzzy, dressable, and lovable creatures are the best toys you can find anywhere! I am almost 12 years old and I spend hours playing with these little guysin my dollhouse. My parents even enjoy them too! If I could reccommend the best toy for kids, Calico Critters would definitely have to be my choice!

My 7 year old daughter has loved these since toddlerhood
My daughter has played with the 80's version of the Calico Critters at Grandma's from age 3 on up, and was delighted when she received this mouse family for her birthday.She loves imaginative play and has made a beautiful homemade shoebox house for her little mice, including furniture made from household odds and ends.She is getting her brother another Critter family for his 5th birthday so their families can be neighbors.

These are wonderful toys, very cute and well-made.Their arms and legs move, and their little outfits are adorable.The only difficulty we've had so far is in tying the tiny outfit ties when they come undone (such as the baby twins' miniscule outfits that are tied with tiny bows).They are quite durable, just as the 80's versions were (and are).I highly recommend them for any child who has a good imagination and who loves pretend play with families. ... The only one my son has played on!!!
I bought and returned at least four Tummy time mats because my son hated all of them.My son really hates to be on his tummy.I decided to give this one a try before giving up. My son actually liked it and even giggled at the fish.The mat is really soft and has a lot of cushion to it.The animals are very bright and inviting.There are lots of things for him to grab at and pull on.Plus it has the mirror which is great.My only complaint is that the mat should be a little bigger.All and all this is great entertainment for the little ones. ... my 3 year old daughter loves it
I've got it for my 3 year old, and she loves it and plays with it all the time. She serves tiny carrots and tomatoes to the critters. There are lots of small things that come with it.

this is so cute. great for children and adults who used to have these when they were little. detailed to the fullest, it even has slippers for the cook!!

Calico Critters - AKA Sylvanian Families in JP ^_^
Forget the kids (well, ok get it for them too) I wanted this for my own miniature collection! The two door oven is SO highly detailed with 1mm knobs that actually turn, and doors that open. The fridge opens/closes and is fully stocked with all sorts of miniature goodies. there are removable fridge racks, icebox trays, ice, desserts, milk, ice-cream, veggies, fruit, soda bottles, and more. In addition there are tables, chairs, cabinets, baking sheets, baking dishes, plates, cups, place settings, even aprons & house slippers to put critter figures into for a cozy meal-making time. A favorite in our Home
I look for toys that are going to last a long time and survive several children playing with them. I look for toys that will grow with a child. I look for toys that are easy to play with that do not need a lot of parent direction.I want a toy that will not just have a button to push to make it do something. I want a toy that will encourage creativity and exploration of the world around us. If the toy is quiet to play with even better.

This game fits these requirements.

It is a fun game. My four year old really enjoys this game. It is a game that my two year old can understand. Yet it is still fun as a family game. The game board sets up differently each time so the kids can't memorize where something is for each game. It is not a slow game so you can play a quick round or two in a short time and stop before the kids get bored.

Well worth the money.

Great game, great fun!
This game is truly fun! It is sort of a "I-Spy" type of game with a competitive twist. Three cards are turned and everyone must find the corresponding images on the board, fast. The game board is made up of several inter-locking pieces, which can be re-shuffled to make it hard for anyone to memorize the game board. The game can last 30 seconds, or go one forever if everyone likes it. The younger kids may take longer than the older ones to find the images, but even the young ones can have a great time. My children are 5 and 7 and both enjoy the game tremendously.

My 2 year old and 4 year old have played this non-stop since it arrived.In order to include my 2 year old, I changed the rules - dealt out all the tiles (weighted so my 4 year old had more to make it fair) and told them the first to find all their objects wins the game.More fun than the original rules, in my opinion.They have an endless attention span for this, and can play without my constant help, which is a lifesaver since I have a baby too.Highly recommended! ... Great dollhouse for my 3 year old
My daughter loves these tiny little critters and the cute tiny little accessories.This is a medium sized dollhouse that is perfect for a 3 year old -- just large enough for her to not get overwelmed with the number of rooms.She has 1 family, 1 set of twins with a nursery, a kitchen, a girls bedroom, and a small living room set and this is more than enough furnishings for this house.

Perhaps when she is older (5 or 6) I would consider the larger dollhouse, but this size is perfect for her.

Every child plays differently, and my daughter is relatively gentle so this is PLENTY durable.

If your child is pretty rough, I would recommend waiting until she is a bit older.

My daughter particularly likes to put all the little critters to bed and to kick the boy critter out of the dollhouse and hide it elsewhere ... "I don't want boys in my critter house".Hopefully this will extend to the teenage years ....

Adorable, fun, creative play!
I have purchased this for my neice and have since been asked by mothers of all her friends where I could get one.The top floor is open and expansive making it easy for pretend play. The door, staircase and windows are realistic.My neice makes her own curtains and carpet and redecorates all the time.

This is a great start to collecting all the adorable families and furniture that belong in the line.I find it reasonably priced in comparsion to other houses on the market.

I do not recommend this dollhouse
This was a gift for my three year old.The house is all plastic and snaps together.It is flimsy and the space is very cramped.It's not easy for my daughter to move the furniture or kittens around.It's dark inside and the largest room downstairs, the kitchen, is too long, so that it's hard to reach in to "play" in the room.

My daughter has barely played with this.I keep it out, hoping that she'll like it better as she gets older.She does lots of pretend play with other toys, but not this one.I am planning on saving for one of the Ryan's Room dollhouses which are built to last and are more open for better accessibility.These are available at Learning Express.Also, the Playmobile dollhouses are a nice option.

One other thing to consider is that the furniture sets that you buy to go with this house are expensive and filled with so many tiny pieces, they are sure to be lost. ... Read more

A waste of money
I wish I could say that my son liked this toy.He's had it for several months now and he doesn't do anything with it except throw it on the floor, so I guess it's durable since it hasn't shattered yet.He likes it when I spin it on the floor like a top, but is unable to do this himself and nothing else on the toy is interesting to him.I am starting to be convinced that the squiggly bars that arc over the toy that have little doo-hickeys to slide back and forth are eye candy for adults to make us think there's something going on here, but kids are not so easily fooled.
