5-0 out of 5 stars JUST GREAT
My son is only 2 1/2 months and he loves this puppy!!! he just look at it and laugh a lot!!! it's just a great toy that helps to stimulate the babys sense

5-0 out of 5 stars Great DOG!!
I love this toy, the only thing that I have a problem with is that some of the features are too close together. But other than that I highly recommmend it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Daugher Loves Her Puppy
We bought this for our 15 mo. old daughter and she really enjoys her puppy. It's one of the toys that she goes back to throughout the day. We've had it for several months and had no problem with the ear breaking as some other reviews have stated. There are many different songs/games- I see this as something she willplay with for a long time. It's not her #1 favorite toy (That's the Laugh and Learn House- it is THE BEST!) but she does really like it and plays with it quite often. ... Made by Fisher-Price, this electronic learning system is comprised of an InteracTV DVD, which you insert into your home DVD player; a controller; and activity cards based on popular children's television shows. Plug an activity card into the controller, and games and activities featuring that show will appear on the TV screen. Nine touch points let kids interact with the characters, in lessons covering numbers, colors, animals, and more. Cards contain more than 100 learning questions and activities, posed randomly. This model comes with three activity cards--SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, and Elmo's World--as well as a storage case to hold the cards and the DVD. A switch on the controller enables you to use the system on up to three different DVD players--say, in multiple rooms, or at relatives' houses. --Andy Boynton ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not great but good enough
My daughter likes it, and it teaches well....we got this for her last Christmas and she was 3.She was able to work it pretty well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Educational and fun!
My son loves this, he calls it his "dvd game" he gets frustrated with the sponge bob game, but it is for older kids, I think all the peopole giving it bad reviews are probably just not programming it right, or they got a bad one, that happens, mine programmed and worked the first try and have had no problems since!

1-0 out of 5 stars Why did I bother??!!!!
My mother bought this system for my 3 year old son for Christmas.I have an Apex DVD Player and it took a while to get it programmed, but after that it worked great for a short time.Unfortunately my son loved the game so much that he was nearly devastated when one day it just stopped working.I changed the batteries, tried re-programming it, but nothing worked. He just played with the system at a friends house the other day and after seeing his delight, I purchased another system to give it another try - no luck.I can't even get the darn thing to program and now I will have to return a second one!!!By the way, there were only 2 in the store when I repurchased it last week and both appear to have been returned.Maybe they should work out the kinks before using paying customers as test dummies and further frustrating our children at an age that is already frustrating enough!!! ... Editorial Review

This purple and silver electronic lap-book looks worth the sacrifice of foregoing afternoon cartoons--and it is. The two included storybooks ("Ernie's Neighborhood" and "School Skills") fit inside the book and, thanks to microchip technology, kids can read, count, talk, and sing along with characters using a handy stylus as a pointer. They can stop the story whenever they like to figure out words, phrases and puzzles along the way. Buttons for letters, words, music, and "surprises" are within finger-distance, and so is a full reference of capital and lower-case letters. There are also 60 or more learning activities stored in the book, designed for kids between 3 and 8 years (or up to the 2nd grade). Activities range from simple (spelling, telling time, music) to more complex (problem-solving, comprehension, vocabulary). Required: four AA batteries. Diane Beall ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars NOT ALL THAT IMPRESSIVE
We got this toy for our daughter when she was two years old and she didn't play with it. She is now four and still deosn't play with it. The books that go with it are not that great and are limited. The cartriges that go with the books are hard to keep track of because they are small. The learning system messes up and gets off track very easily. I don't recomend this toy and will be selling my hardly used power touch at a garage sale.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun, but little hands like to push many things at once...
I just bought this (...), brought it home, put in batteries and my son (2 1/2) went right to it.Hoever, it may be too advanced for him.I thought it would not be because he already knows his letter, numbers, colors, shapes, and can even do a 24 piece puzzle in less than five minutes. But this thing has a lot of options. He went to one page and pushed on everything and then wanted to go to the next page, not wanting to push the bottons at the top for tother activites.I'm sure he will get into those more as he gets a little older and this will make an excellent toy, but I was hoping for something that would keep his attention for a while now.I also wonder know if I should've gotten the "My First LeapPad" because of the pen. That's the reason I didn't get it, I thought the finger would be easier, but now I see at my son's age, it is too hard for him to only use just his finger, he wants to rest his hand on it as well, pushing about ten things at once.I miht put this back in the box for six months or so and get one for younger kids in the meantime.ALthough as he uses this more, he might still get some good entertainment out of it, if he will be patient enough to let listen to the directions for the suprise games, etc...

5-0 out of 5 stars TWO YEAR OLD LOVES IT!
My son got this toy for his second birthday last October and really loves it.I guess it is similar to the Leap Pad but since I've never seen the leap Pad I'm not sure. The board basically fits storybooks on it along with a cartridge that accompanies each book.Kids turn the page and the interactive story book plays and responds to your childs touch. They can press on basically everything on each page and hear a sound or phrase and even play simple number and color games. The voices are right out of Sesame Street for the book that comes with the set.

It's quite easy for kids to turn on and use all by themselves. The toy is quite durable and is not a battery hog.I know that there are many more story books out for the Leap Pad. Hopefully Fisher Price will continue to support the toy with more and more story books because it is a very well made toy.VEry educational and fun for kids. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Learn through Music really teaches!
My mother in law got this unit with Elmo's Scavenger Hunt cartridge for my son when he was 1 1/2.While one of the other reviewers says it's too loud it does have two volumes. My son had mastered this cartridge by his 2nd birthday. So for Christmas we got him Elmo's numbers and Blue's Clues colors....he has excelled with this toy.
He know's how to mix colors now at 2 1/2 and can tell you exactly how to do it.How many kids his age know that green and yellow make Chartruse? And with Elmo numbers he knows how to count in English and Spanish.
It's an excellent toy...annoying at first because there is something new to learn on each "page" and the songs are great for kids but hard on parents.
As for durability..the only problem we have encountered in 1 1/2 years of use is that anything that falls into the cartridge chamber can harm it...in our case cat hair. But it's worth paying the price....it's excellent and it's a learning tool that can be used for so many things.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy!...worth the money
I bought this toy over a year ago for my now 2-1/2 year old daughter and she still plays with it.I now have a 19 month old daughter too, and she loves the toy just as much. The youngest bops to the music, and the oldest sings away in the microphone. I have not yet changed the batteries, the "pages" don't stick, the volume is a good volume since it can be adjusted with the "high/low" switch on back. I find the toy to be plenty durable since my youngest seems to stand on it quite a bit and has not damaged the screen or any part of it yet. I also plan to buy more cartridges this weekend for them since I just still have the one it came with. I'm hoping the others are just as fun for my kids as the Sesame Street one. I gave the toy only 4 stars because of the colors on the screen...it would be nice if they were a bit brighter and bolder for the kids.

1-0 out of 5 stars A whole lot of fun..... UNTIL IT STOPS WORKING!
My 18 month old daughter loved this toy soooo much in the store that I just had to buy it for her. I also picked up two extra cartridges for it. I thought the price was a little high, but for such a great toy I felt that it was worth it. Well, we got it home and she loved it! We played with it together (at all times, other times it was put up) and had so much fun with it... until 3 days after buying it when it stopped working. We didn't have any trouble with the microphone, but the pages would stick on every single cartridge. I changed the batteries, thinking that we probably just played with it too much, but that didn't help. I ended up taking it back to our Toys 'R' Us and exchanging everything for another. Okay, second toy worked really well for about 3 wks, then not only did the pages start sticking but the microphone started cutting out as well!! There was NO REASON for this! My daughter never threw it, stepped on it, hit it, etc. I took it back AGAIN (thank goodness for saving boxes and receipts!! The 3rd one worked a bit longer, almost 2 months, and then the same things started happening again. After putting new batteries in the 3rd toy and having the problems continue, I finally had my partner try to fix it himself! We ended up getting so fed up with this toy that we threw it, along with ALL THREE cartridges, in the trash. BIG, BIG, BIG waste of money!! I am extremely disappointed! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This phone is a great toy!
I don't understrand everyones comments on not being able to hear the phone once the plastic thing in the back is removed.I really wanted this toy to go with my daughters laugh and learn home so I went to the store to look at it anyway to see what all the fuss was about. So at the store I reached behind the phone and ripped out the plastic thing and it sounds fine to me. It is plenty loud enough. So I bought it and my 9 month old daughter loves it.I don't know maybe fisher price has improved the product or something but mine is plenty loud enough.

5-0 out of 5 stars How I solved the volume issue.
I liked this toy for my 8 month old because it relates the pushed buttons (number or alphabet depending on the play mode) by visually showing them on the screen and audio ably saying them as there are shown; I thought what a great teaching tool. When I got it home and opened I noticed the volume was not as loud as it was in the store, I thought it was broken. I was considering returning it, until I realized a manufacture's pull tab (located in the back beside the screw to open the battery door) had been automatically removed and decreased the volume. I simply reinserted the tab, cut off the excess and taped up the opening. If you've already thrown away the tab anything you can make a 1½" to 2" long thin plastic strip from will work. Since I bought this for its visual effects I don't consider it a hold to her ear toy and I won't encourage her to use it that way, if as she gets older it becomes a problem, I'll re-adjust the volume. But for now my solution works for us.

2-0 out of 5 stars Definetly not loud enough!
I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old. They both like the phone but lose interest pretty quickly. Because they can't hear anything the phone is saying. I think they would play with it more if the volume was louder. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent educational toy with hours of entertainment
....My little girl loves her. It keeps her entertained and has really help her with her alaphabet and more. I would really recommned it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Great IF it works!
Let's make this brief - my sons ages 3 & 5 love this robot. The first one we received as a gift lost its graphics in the first hour. The next one started cutting out with sound problems in three days. Did I try new bateries and troubleshooting in the manual, YES. Because my 3 yr old really loves it, I will try one LAST time before Kasey is in the dump. If you buy it, save the receipt.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kasey is #1 in our House
My son received Kasey for Christmas last year and absolutely loves his robot! He loves how the buttons light up and how Kasey dances. I am home schooling my son and have tried to get him to learn from books and similar sources but at age 4 he wasn't interested. He took to Kasey right away and has learned so much in a year of having the robot. This year he got the Science Wonderful World cartridge and just loves it. Also, he takes Kasey in the car when we travel and he is quiet the entire time. Kasey has been through a lot in the past year, some drops and bumps but he has endured! I would definitely buy Kasey again! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute Toy
My 2 year old son received this toy for Christmas, and although it is not the most educational toy on the planet, he seems to like it alot.It sings, and counts, and says the letters of the alphabet. The shapes features is a bunch of lighted dots trying to form squares and circles, and doesn't do a very good job.Overall, it is a very durable toy, and fun too.And it has TWO volume levels...even at the highest volume level it doesn't annoy anyone in my family.

3-0 out of 5 stars Skip Toby and go for Kasey.
Toby is cute but I wished I would have waited a year and just went for Kasey the Kinderbot.Toby is very basic in his teaching. My 2 year old didn't learn anything new from Toby except the 3 songs.Toby only teaches numbers 1-10.When the ABC button is pressed, Toby will say a letter and display it.If you don't keep pressing the button, he says 2 more letters and then will say "bye-bye".I wish when you pressed the button that Toby would go through the whole alphabet without having to keep pushing the button over and over again. It's like that with the numbers and shapes too.My toddler's Toby happened to break something inside the head.I can hear it rattle around inside.I'm not quite sure what happened to it.Toby still moves, but he doesn't have full motion in his head anymore- just partial.I just wish I would have waited a year and went for Kasey who has so much more to offer.

4-0 out of 5 stars My 20th month old likes this one.
When I first got this for my daughter (at about 13 months old) she was too young and it didn't keep her attention. But not at 20 months old, she loves it and loves especially to sing the alphabet song and view the shapes. This is a good one for the right age! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars It says it's a CARTRIDGE!
Cartridge means it goes into something. Plus it says right on the website and front of package.
DVDs don't state that you need a DVD player but you know it does.
You really shouldn't purchase things for CHILDREN, when you are clueless to what the item is. That is very dangerous and irrisponsible. Adults, & especially Parents like that, scare me.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best cartridges!
I think this cartridge is the most educational. It teaches numbers and counting in several different ways. There is counting from 1-5, 1-10 and more, counting by 5, counting objects, pictures which illustrate the number of objects and numbers displayed next to each object. It's kind of hard to explain without sounding confusing, but get this cartridge. You won't be disappointed. There are even crayons to count and as a bonus it teaches the colors of the crayons.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Learning Tool
I bought the Fisher Price learn through music but, I dont have this particular cartridge.I just wanted to write a review to clear up that this is not a bad product in fact its a great one, Im sure all the cartridges are great, I have the Dora Explorer one,as well as the Sesame Street one they are both very educational and fun for my 27month old. 5-0 out of 5 stars It's Dora the Explorer with your child as the guest star!
This cartridge teaches different musical instruments and their sounds. It is set up like the Dora the Explorer show except the child gets to control when things happen. Dora and Boots are trying to get to the music festival. You press the arrow and The Map sings his song and tells them how to get there. You hear a different song for each step along the way. Then when you move to that screen it plays the song and there are other activities to do. You can touch the screen to play music, to hear Dora and Boots sing, and to learn opposites in english and spanish and the names of instruments in both languages. The only thing my daughter likes more is the actual show.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works in conjunction with the Learn Through Music System
I didn't know that this is only a cartridge when I registered for it, and neither did my sister when she bought it for my one-year-old. We ripped open the box only to find that we had to buy the $35 system to enjoy it. Well, I was certainly not happy, but my daughter didn't even notice. She carried it around and pointed out the characters as if it was a regular toy. Seven months later, I found it for a bargain price on an auction website and now she finally gets to see what it was meant to do. It lights up, plays music, and is interactive throughout the dozen-or-so screens. My 17-month-old has fallen in love with the cartridge all over again now that she can hear and see the cool things it does in the system. I recommend this only if you can get the system for cheaper, if not don't bother with buying this cartridge at all. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good toy
We got this when my daughter was 2. she is 3 now, and while I did not think it was as educational as the Dora and Blue's Clue's cartridges she has, for the Learn Through Music......it is still good and she loves Barney. It kept her busy.

1-0 out of 5 stars I was misled
When I ordered this toy, there was nothing to indicate that I need another part for this to be used. I only found out when I got it and now I cannot find the other part. It is totally useless unless you have both components.

THis is the URL for the main toy.

The Learn Through Music series are wonderful educational toys. The base Unit comes with "Elmo's Scavenger Hunt", and this cartridge and all 4 additional cartridges (with additional cartridges being released every so often) provide excellent stimulus for your little toddler (ours began using hers at 15 months), as well as effective alphabet, numeric, letter-matching (to words), and sing-song fun for your special little girl or boy.

Of all the toys my daughter has, this is her second favorite (it's hard to beat a stuffed animal "woobie"), and to me that says a lot.

I believe your child will both enjoy these toys, and learn from them too, and it's hard to ask for more!

My son loves this one also.
After a month of having it he can do everything without me except handle the DVD.I still like sitting with him though.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great educational toy/game
My 3 year old just loves this. Infact it has teached him so much that today while out shopping he started counting in spanish up to 10. It keeps him busy. I would recommend this product to everyone. It really does teach your kids. As far as the other people that mentioned troubles with programming it, i never had an issue. if you read the instructions you shouldn't have any problems. it's just like programming a remote control, cause that is what it is. Infact it has 3 settings on the back, so if you travel they can bring it with them. like to grandma's house and program each setting. like 1 for home, 2 for grandma's, etc....

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun for now
My daughter got this for Christmas. She is almost 4 Years old.She had no problem figuring out how to work it.It is pretty user friendly. However it does get a little monotinous. All of the activites are pretty much the same.It will probally be something she will out grow quickly. But, that is ok since we have younger children to pass it down to. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Mommy's little helper......
My three year old got this for Christmas and she loves it.It helps with colors and shapes. It even has a little addition. One part has your child count all the books on a page, another has different types of vehicles, and yet another teaches open and closed. Also there is actually a story about Clifford. I thought my daughter would get bored but she hasn't even asked to open one of the other books she got yet. There isn't a spot on a page that doesn't do something. My daughter has had to learn how to be gentle though. The pages are tough but not three year old proof. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars FUN STORY FOR THE POWER TOUCH
When my two year old got his power touch last October he received a couple of extra storybook and Elmo's Big Surprise was one of them. With actual voices from the show this book fits into your Power touch as you can follow along the story and pause to press on virtually everything on each page.Lots of fun games involving ABC's, Numbers, Words, colors, etc.Very fun and very educationalWe really love our Power
Touch!

4-0 out of 5 stars It Says it's a CARTRIDGE, people!
It just amazes me when I see reviews like the one saying this item is "misleading" and "not what it seems".
It says that it's a cartridge for learn through music. Buying this without the actual system is like buying a DVD or Video Tape and saying "It looked like a great movie but it's misleading because it doesn't work without the DVD/VCR player"
I seriously think people do too much buying without thinking, and especially if it's folr a CHILD, you should research and actually KNOW what your giving them to play with!

As for the toy itself, my baby loves this but mostly because he has a few cartridges & can alternate which ones he plays with, so he doesn't get board.
I like this toy but it needs more cartridges.

3-0 out of 5 stars Oh the Monontony!
This is a cute cartridge in theme and idea, but ohhhhhhhh is it monontonous! The same song is played over and over again with each new screen.Fifteen screens to identify colors is just too much of a good thing. My daughter gets bored with it halfway through. It would take a strong Blues fan to tolerate the entire cartridge.
Even with my criticism, this cartridge does have merit in your collection. It's just not my favorite.Learn Through Music is an excellent toy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great addition to the Learning Through Musictoy!!!
This "book" is a great addition to the Learning through Music toy from Fisher Price. My 2 year old loved this book, it's his favorite. He has learned several colors and songs from it.You do need to own the actual Learning through Music unit to operate any of these books, but it's definately worth the $$$ to purchase. We own three "books" and we have a great time singing along! ...
