Editorial Review

A landscape of tunnels and hiding dens can instantly beassembled in your yard or family room with this compact modular playstructure. One of the best features is the abundance of colorful balls(there are 50!). Pile them all into one cube and children canexperience the feel of a small-scale ball room like the ones incommercial play areas. When children tire of burrowing, crawling, andhiding, they can use the balls to shoot hoops into the built-in basket. The pop-up nylon play structure is easy to assemble, but be carefulwhile assembling--modules spring open quickly. The challenge is foldingit back into the carrying cases (no careless cramming--adults will haveto follow instructions carefully). Megaland works with other PlayHutstructures. The set includes one large hut with basket, one medium hut,one small block, two tunnels, two carrying bags, and 50balls. --Gail Hudson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great indoor toy!
We, like many of the other reviewers, had a blow-up ball pit that our 20 month old twin boys loved, but it developed a hole. We were going to buy another one until we saw this, and we are glad we bought this fun and durable tent

Our playroom is a small spare bedroom, and its fairly large (couch, easle, table, closet, TOYS, toy box ect.) and this is a great toy for in there. It folds extremely easily and we store it under the couch. We are so greatful for that feature so that this toy doesnt have to take over our play area

It is also very very fun. We keep up the excitement by trying new ways to connect it and our boys have a BLAST. Its fairly simple to connect, you just use the velcro. You can also use one piece separatly, like only a tunnel or only one of the tents. The tents are very "fun" colors, but they are nylon so theres a sort of filtration system, its not too stuffy. The material is also VERY durable, it holds up well against the constant abuse of two BOY toddlers...

The tent is a very nice ball pit. Although like many other reviewers, I bought TWO additional 100 pack of balls as 50 isnt enough (one of the packages isnt even opened yet!) And when it comes time for clean up, we store the balls in a little plastic zip-up bag that our king sized comforter fits in. The balls do not come out of the tent, it is a little higher so they wont roll out. The balls are also like very soft, they are hollow plastic (like the balls at the McDonalds of BurgerKing play places) so they dont hurt if you get hit with one.

The other activities, like the basket ball hoop and throwing game, are very fun for my boys, although I think they will apreciate it more as they grow older. They really enjoy sitting in it and crawling through the tunnels. Like many children they like having a "clubhouse", a place where they wont be bothered by parents. I have even found them naping in there on occasions!

It can keep any aged child busy for hours, we have had the younges 20 month olds, and the oldest 8 year olds in here! Everyone finds SOMETHING about the house that they like. I find myself constantly taking out this toy for my boys to play with, but thats NOT a complaint, its so easy to do that I dont consider it a hassel at all

I would recomend you buying this instead of a ball pit, or even instead of a playhouse if you wanted it for indoor use. This tent is great outdoors too (on the grass). I would recomend it to anyone seeing how much my twins love it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great little tent
We have a very large basement that serves as a playroom for my 3 year old B/G twins, and my 8 month old B/B twins, and as an office for my husband. We have MANY things down there, a doll care center, toy strollers, cheap trikes/ride-ons (the ones that arent good for outside) a log cabin playhouse, tables a t.v, a LARGE closet and a wall unit. WEll this tent is GREAT. It has alot of activities (and we bought the 100 pack of balls, and an extra one too!). My kids love to hide in it and crawl through it. We love it because unlike the log cabin, this can be easily stored away in the walk in closet. My kids like to read in it and I think it serves a much different purpose than the house, this is more of a hiding feature, and tents and my kids love to pretend that they are in teh jungle and that the log canin is there home but they have to get through this set first. Its very cute and I would tell anyparent to buy one simply because kids love it, and its easy to store. Even if you dont have a large playroom, you can open this up in your living room, and take it down when they are done playing, its really easy! Thats what we do all the time! I also like that you can purchase cheep extentions to make a MONSTER tent (when the basement is cleared and we have children company, thats a big crowd pleaser!) even my eight month olds love it! BUY IT, ITS GREAT

5-0 out of 5 stars DELIGHTFUL FUN!
I am SO glad we decided to splurge on this ball tent set!We could not get our toddler to crawl through a long tunnel we already had; so I was not sure this would be a good buy, but we took that chance. He LOVES it and plays in it every day.He runs in to get to the balls.I have even climbed in there with him, but there's not much room to move for an adult! It takes up a lot of space, but I like that we can just set up the basketball/ball tent or any tent on its own when space is limited. The basketball hoop is a VERY fun addition.I love tossing the balls in there easily to show my little one how. What a great buy! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars FABULOUS!
I am so happy I chose to purchase this tent for my kids.It is huge but that's what we wanted. My kids range in age from 10 months to 11 years and they aren't short at all but they all fit in this little playhouse with room to spare and with tons of pillows, a little tea table and their stuffed animals. The best part is they can play in it happily together! That makes the cost seem miniscule to me!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great BIG fun!!!
I bought this for my 3 yr old daughter .. and to my surprise its big enough for my 3 yr old, 5 yr old and 9 yr old ... and their cousins!!It is a great challenge to fold down, but when you fold it once it gets easier each time. Great for camping, the beach and backyard fun!!!We're a big fan of Playhut and this house is the best especially for summer!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Loads of fun!
My kids love this play tent and so do I.I love that the tent can be folded up, so you only have the house out.We also bought the 5' tube that connects to it.I thought it would be a little bigger around, but kids fit in it just fine. I found folding it up was very easy.It only took two tries and within 15 minutes it was in it's bag.GREAT TENT!!! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun toy!
This is a fun toy... My daughter is a Thomas fan & she loves this. She plays with it for hours at a time. It could be a little more stable, but these kind of toys never are!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy for Thomas Lovers
I bought this toy at another store $10 cheaper than remarked online here. Its great! My son is 21 months old and he absolutely loves it.Being an active 21 month old the toy can withstand his activity level! I would have prefered nylon myself, but the material used is not really that flimsy at all. I've three very large dogs that climb in and out of it too! So that should account for something also. Great toy, colorful, large and fun for all!

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth it
My 4-year-old is so disappointed. Thomas is ripping after only a few uses. I was disappointed when we opened the package and saw that it was made from the thin papery material used in disposable medical booties and gowns.

While I'm sure I can return it, that won't fix my son's disappointment. This toy was not worth it. ... Read more

This lightweight, sturdy, flame-resistant nylon play structurecan be set up in 30 seconds. There are no poles to piece together andinsert (or lose or break). The Crawl N Play pops open and keeps itsshape, thanks to the sewn-in spring-action frame. Indoors or out, thethree modular units--one 32-by-33-by-33-inch block with four roundopenings and a roof window, plus two tunnels, each 18 inches across and20 inches long--fit together with hook-and-loop tabs. Kids can create aclubhouse, a castle, a dungeon, a tower, a jail, a rabbit burrow, abear's den, a pirate ship, an outlaw hideout, Aladdin's cave, ahouse on the prairie--whatever a game of make-believe seems to demand. The structure folds up to fit in the included nylon carry case, and itcan be connected to other Crawl N Play modular sets to form largerstructures. --Ava Natov ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun, but the tunnels weren't durable
I got this toy to use in my daycare.ALL of the kids love it (ages 2-9).It has gotten used every day and has been everything from a space ship to a school bus.

The main tent part has been very durable and folds up very small.I usually fold it flat and don't twist it and put it in it's case, but it's easy to do.

The problem I've had with the toy is with the tunnels. They have a wire coil in them and the ends have poked out through the fabric.I haven't been able to get them back in so I've had to get rid of them.Granted they got ALOT of use with my daycare, so they may hold up fine with just one or two children.

5-0 out of 5 stars My 1 year old son loves it!!!!!!! VERY PLEASED.
My 1 year on son received a gift card for xmas and I've decided to get him one of this play tent. Since he loves crawling under the tables and such. I have seen a lot of tents and tunnels like this but usually they need to be assembled, but not this one. I love it that it (1) folds so small and thin, (2) very inexpensive, (3) you can take it anywhere, (4) easy set up (takes 1 minute) and (5) if a child lands on it or leans on it, it just pops right back into place.

This is the best ever...

5-0 out of 5 stars lots of fun
We bought this as a joint gift for my son who is 3 and my daughter who is 7 months. Both love it.My daughter who crawled early, really enjoys it!no problems at all.I did find it at Toys r us mis marked for 19.99 so I feel I got a great deal... ... Read more

It's a three-alarm blaze of fun for youngsters with PlayHut'sTwist 'N' Fold Fire Engine, another in their imaginative series ofquick-to-assemble, spring-loaded, collapsible nylon meshconfigurations. Here, a bright red, 49-by-24-inch, stylized rectangularfire truck replica, almost 3 feet tall, forms itself from the apparatuswhich, fully folded, fits into a bag no larger than a grocery sack. Theonly assembly required is to attach the nylon rear door (complete witha replica of a fire ax) and the inflatable steering wheel to the Velcrotoggles on the main structure. Unfortunately, the included printedmatter barely mentions these two extra pieces, leaving assemblersguessing as to how to attach them. The steering wheel is a no-brainer,but the back door panel possesses one toggle and there are fourpossible loops for it. Parents might also be annoyed by the fact thatthe foldaway instructions are twice as lengthy as those forsetup. --Tony Mason ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great purchase
With a firefighter for a Daddy you can imagine that my son has every firetruck toy possible. We bought him this truck awhile ago and he loves it.It's so easy to set up, and easy to fold up and store behind the couch. So far with a one year old, a cat, and dog who love the tent- it has held up fine.He loves to pull some books, or toys in with him and will hang out in the tent for awhile. And like another reviewer stated... adults can fit in too, which my son thinks is hysterical.I would definately recommend it, it's great for the imagination.

5-0 out of 5 stars Happy Mom
We bought this for my 2 year old for Christmas. We ended up putting his crib matress inside it for him to sleep on after we pulled down the crib.He didn't want to sleep on a "big boy bed" but with the bed in the tent - life was good. It's been a year now and he no longer sleeps in it but it still looks brand new.

5-0 out of 5 stars Squeals of Delight
I bought this playhut for my 2 1/2 yr. old nephew. He was so excited & could barely wait for the package to be opened. It was an instant success.Even my own 6 1/2 & 4 1/2 yr. olds couldn't wait to get inside and pretend; though it is best suited for one child at a time.We have had other playhut tents and they are quite durable. ... Editorial Review

Long before children are old enough to ride a yellow school bus, they long to be a passenger in this intriguing vehicle. Toddlers and preschoolers will especially appreciate this nylon, pop-up bus that measures a whopping 50 inches tall, 36 inches long, and 25 inches wide and is shaped just like a real bus. Once the freestanding bus is set up (it literally pops out of a sack and snaps into shape), children can set up chairs and walk about inside, dreaming up all kinds of imaginative school stories and bus-driver dramas. The yellow and black bus comes with a built-in crawl-through divider between front and back. Park a chair in the driver's seat and children can turn the built-in steering wheel. Folding takes patience and practice, but it will all fit--amazingly--into a small storage sack.--Gail Hudson ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars watch out, it rips!!
Bought this toy for my two year old's birthday.I have had it ONE week...it is ripped in the front by the words school bus.cute toy, not durable.no rough play, just the tension of it being up made it rip!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Babysitting Toy
Do you ever just want to pull that bag of tricks out of the closet on a rainy or otherwise exhausting day?Well here's the toy for you and your child. This toy has been played with by my son and many of his friends ages 1-6 and they all love it!You can actually see out of the bus so the kids love to play in it and even play video games and dress up through it.They can use their imaginations as to how much fun to have with it. Tons of fun.Worth the money....and it's collapseable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for imaginative play
My 5 year old and almost 2 year old love this, it's one of the few toys they have where they play together without fighting. They fill their backpacks and lunchboxes, put on jackets and hats and out they go. I've even been given a small part in the production; when the five year old comes back in and says "Hi mom", he has instructed me to say "How was soccer practice?" It's great, folds pretty much flat and slides under the couch. Unfolds in seconds and can be used indoors or out. There's even a cool inflatable steering wheel. The photographs of them peeking out the windows are fab! ... Read more

Collapsible play tents have been increasingly popular in recent years, satisfying that seemingly instinctive "fort" craving that kids have while still being both lightweight and portable. This Spiderman themed tent features four sides, a split flap door, and, naturally, a vibrant red and blue Spiderman theme. Though Spiderman is always cool, there isn't anything really especially "Spiderman-esque" about this toy unless one imagines that the webbed crusader lurks in an easily collapsed indoor playroom tent when he's not slinging from building to building catching bad guys. And, come to think of it, that's a perfect game of pretend play for youngsters to enjoy while employing the tent. Radioactive spiders not included. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars GREAT for your grandchild!
This isn't the best made product, nor is it meant to be -- check out the low PRICE. But if you want to thrill that 2 or 3-year-old, include this in the next round of gifts. In fact, EVERY OTHER GIFT is likely to be immediatly placed IN it. And be prepared, too, to get in it YOURSELF. It's pretty hard to resist, "Get in it. Get in it." This went over better than the spiderman slip and slide, which was the second favorite gift! As for all those other expensive things? Nothing compared!

2-0 out of 5 stars Too Collapsable
My sister gave this to my 2 year old twins for their birthday. I thought it would be great because it folded away easily to conserve on space; the problem is that it folds TOO easily. Once they enter the hut it collapses on top of them if they touch the sides. It doesn't have a bottom so the slightest little bump will cause it to fold up...which isn't really dangerous because it's so lite-weight, but I spend most of my time re-expanding it when they do play with it...I think that it would have been better to get a ball pit and just leave the balls out (or in if you want to clean up dozens of balls everyday)...that way there is a bottom to support the tent. I was very disappointed.

3-0 out of 5 stars Soo Small compared to others
I bought this item for my son's birthay, he's 5
and compared to the hulk tent that his 2 year old brother busted it's sooo tiny. it's pretty durable in the fact that when it collapses it's pretty easy to snap back into place, but i just don't like the fact that it's soo small. ... Read more

Oh sure, it might not be a castle in the strictest, most literal sense but with a little imagination, this fun and simple tent will provide the basis for all sorts of magical adventures. Three of Disney''s most enduringly popular princess characters, Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty, are depicted on three of the four sides while the fourth provides a simple flapped doorway. The bright purple tent practically sets itself up as you take it out of the box and we had very little difficulty collapsing it again using the included directions. While this tent is not suited for camping, it would be perfectly suited for backyards and play rooms. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars THERE IS NO FLOOR TO THIS TENT
The size of the tent doesn't bother me.I think it is fine for 2 small children in their small playroom. It is bottomless!I had no idea when I ordered it.I've tried accepting it because my children seemed to like it, but as they move in the tent, the tent moves with them...Across the room!

5-0 out of 5 stars Let Your Imagine Run !
2yr old dd received this as a gift and uses it every day.She loves the fact that she has her own little space to call her own... she even allows mom & dad to join in every once in awhile :)

PROS
- Popular Princess theme
- Vibrant colors
- Easy to access door on one side of play tent
- Open roof so that mom & dad can check in
- Easy to fold in half or twist to it's smaller original state for storage

CONS:
- Would have liked a vinyl case to store it in
- Tips over easily (however it's light enough for little ones to tip back into place)
- Not very large...2 smaller children can stand in it or possibly sit, however there would be no room for toys.Mom or dad can fit, however only with child sitting on lap and must pull tent over your head, there's no way an adult or larger child could crawl thru the door.

OTHER REVIEWERS COMPLAINED OF THE METAL BENDING. WE'VE NOT HAD THAT PROBLEM YET, HOWEVER I CAN SEE HOW IT MIGHT HAPPEN.I WOULD SAY FOR THE MONEY, THIS IS AN AVERAGE TO GOOD BUY.DD SEEMS TO LOVE THE "TENT" ATMOSPHERE.IT DOESN'T TAKE UP AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF SPACE AND IT IS EASY TO TAKE DOWN AND STORE.

3-0 out of 5 stars Definately for an older child
We bought this tent for our two year old daughter after observing her play in a similar tent at a friends house.Unfortunately, this tent isn't really for a 2 year old.She is still a little busy with all the in and out and in and out... she doesn't seem to enjoy it much yet. However, at 4 we will re-introduce it to her and perhaps she will enjoy it but as of now it justs collects dust. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Ours was torn to shreds in weeks!
This tent thrilled my daughter when she was 2.Now she is nearly four and it still exists. That's about all you can say for it.In addition to other parents' complaints about it not being roomy enough and not affording any space for a small child to lay down in, I'd like to say that this tent 1) does not fold back into it's convenient-looking circular storage size ever again--when you remove it from the package and set it up, say goodbye to the promised small-sized storage AND 2)the fabric is itchy, chintzy, cheap, stuffy and hot, sheds white fiber matts, and rips terribly. My little girl stumbled through the doorway and ripped holes there, and though that could be pardonable, there are holes everywhere in this thing and I hate the sight of it.I would certainly never buy it had I known.Beyond that, I hate that she wants me to get in it with her.Not only is there no room, but no adult can continue to survive on the limited air and stuffy conditions. Now imagine, when you're not in there, how breathable and comfortable is it really. My child had more fun making castles and cottages out of large IKEA boxes with me; after a few weeks we recycled them.Cheap and much more creative fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars My 2 year old loves it!
This cute little "hideaway" tent has given my two year old hours of fun.She loves to play in it and even takes naps in it from time to time. Perfect for you Dora fan!

4-0 out of 5 stars i got this for my 2 yr old niece
I got this for my niece's 2 yr birthday. She really loves it!! I got it cheaper at Walmart--but I do agree with the first review..the flaps arent able to be pulled back and it does collapse rather easily, but it is fun and worth getting especially if you can get it on sale!

4-0 out of 5 stars My twin grandaughters love it
I bought this for my 17 month old twin granddaughters. They just love it. I didn't realize when I bought it doesn't have a floor though. It's an open floor so it moves around alot when they play in it which I don't like. It doesn't stay put which I'd prefer. Also the Velcro door flaps can't be fastened to stay open. There's no way to tac them open. I may add some Velcro to it. Overall though the girls love playing in it and I'm happy with it. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Keeps my 14 month old busy!
I really wanted the Elmo ball zone but it's been out of stock at Amazon forever so I settled for this for my son.He is going through a clingy stage but as soon as I put out this toy he kept himself busy for over an hour (letting me go online, do dishes, laundry etc.)! It's a good buy at 14.99 but I would not pay more than that b/c the material is not plastic like other Playhut products. This series is made with felt like material so it looks cheap and I could not attach the playhut tunnel b/c this Ball Zone does not have the velcrow attachments. It's recommended for age 3 and older but I don't see anything that could be a choking hazard, except maybe the 2 ball sizes. One is a softball size and the other is a bit smaller like a tennis ball. It comes in a plastic carrying case for easy storage. I love to take it out when we have playdates - all the babies love squeezing into this and playing with the balls! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Out with the Playhouse
What a disappointment to all.Our kids, 5,5 and 8 found this fun-hut to be a not-so fun hut. Our 5 year old daughter uses the sleeping bag out of it.The rest was poorly designed to set up as a play house/tent..what-ever.It was not a good purchase.I knew I should have bought a different tent, but chose this one and now I will invest more money to get the tent I should have purchased in the first place. The sleeping bag itself is useful and durable, so all is not lost!

1-0 out of 5 stars MORE TIME PUT AWAY THEN PUT UP ~ GREAT CAT BED
I bought this for my daughter (3 years old) and I was so excited for her to have a secret space of her own. Well when we opened it per the instructions it was not as EASY as 1..2..3... And I never did get it back to it's original storage size. The sleeping bag velcro wore out fast and it was always toppling over if she was playing around in it. The little flap doors on either end tore as did the bean bag holes on the back side. The Bean bags did not last a month befor the seams were wearing and spilling out the beans. The zipper to close it was constantly jamming. My daughter and I played in it in the beginning like we were camping and I found that it became VERY STUFFY in it if it was closed up ( front zipped and flaps closed). And it is VERY hard to wash the main part of the tent when it gets dirty. I was very disapointed with this product. After about the first month my daughter no longer wanted to hassle with it. Can't say I blame her. It now lives folded ( or at least what I could fold up ) under my daughter's bed. The only ones that really enjoyed it when it was up was the cats.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Have
I ordered one of these for my daughter and she absolutely loves it. At first I was a little skeptical about ordering it because of some of the reviews from this site as well as others. However, after we got it in the mail we were both very excited. We have had the tent for about a month and a half and I am glad that I went ahead and ordered it.Every Saturday night my daughter and I set up her tent and have a camp out in the living room. Now she looks forward to every Saturday night so her and I can have a camp-out.Honestly, I would have to say that I have not had any problems with this product.I love it and I love the fact that it gives my daughter and I the opportunity to spend time together. I am already planning on buying one for my nephews so that they can have camp-outs to. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Daughter loved but flimsy!
My daughter absolutely loved this playhut toy but I was not happy with the structural aspect of it.I was glad I got it on clearance at [at a local store] for [$$$] and didn't pay full price. The play mat they talk about in actuality is a sleeping bag - zips up like a sleeping bag, looks like one and feels like one (not stiff like a mat).My 2 year old daughter (almost 3) identified it quickly as a sleeping bag - which in our family is a good thing since she loves sleeping bags. The actual play structure is designed like one of those sunshades for your car.Watch out when you take it out of the bag cause it will "sprong" into action and become the playhut. There is a pole for the top of it but that's about it for rigidity. The back wall easily folds inward and with no effort the whole thing can be pushed down/over.One plus I suppose is that the sides fold in easily so when you are done playing with it, it can be rest up against a wall without taking up much space and without having to fold it up. (I have not tried to fold it up yet). The sleeping bag can open all the way up and half zips up the side and top for the third wall (no extra rigidity from the sleeping bag!) and the other half lays on the floor of the hut. There are also two holes in the back wall for a bean bag toss.My daughter has yet to use the bean bags for that purpose (they have been little pillows for stuffed animals) and the holes she actually managed to crawl through. But she is on the young end of the age range.I think the extra uses (5 in 1) were fluff added to make it sound better. The tent part with "playmat" is the main purpose I'd buy it for. That said I know I would not buy it again if I had to pay full price. For us the [$$$] was well worth it for the sleeping bag alone. I was not impressed with the playhut part though.

4-0 out of 5 stars Flimsy, but FUN!
My two year old daughter received this tent for Christmas this past year and for the last couple of months, she still plays in it every single day.I do very much agree that it is a flimsy tent.Especially for what it costs, but...my daughter has had hours of enjoyment with this tent and overall, I am glad that she got this. She enjoys the two bean bags that it comes with and loves to try and toss them in the holes in the back.I do usually leave one side of the tent unzipped, because when it is zipped, the weight of the slumber bag sort of makes the side of the tent cave in a little. All in all, I think it is a fun item for a Care Bear fan, but it certainly could have been made a little bit sturdier.

2-0 out of 5 stars Horrible
My 3 year old daughter got this for her birthday. It is extremely flimsy and falls apart every time she tries to get in it.She wanted to take her nap in it, but everytime she gets in it, it falls in on her.Absolutely NOT worth the money and possibly a danger to children. ... Read more
