Editorial Review

Be it a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away or right here at home in the 21st century, Mr. Potato Head never fails to reinvent himself. For generations this spectacular spud has wowed us all with his ability to keep up with the times. Now he throws us all for a loop once again to reveal that even he has a Dark Side, taking up the role of the most menacing movie villains of all times: Darth Vader. Donning the trademark black helmet, mask and cape, our favorite tuber wields the infamous red lightsaber to become his own Darth Tater. Of course you’ll still find all the classic accessories like the googly eyes, red nose, and silly tongue we’ve come to love but now with an added twist of Star Wars. As always, all the pieces still fit away inside his body for easy storage.--Chip Quinn ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Luke - Use the Forks !!!
I'd say I'm embarrassed to tell you how many stores I went to looking for this and how many trips it took me to said stores. But I'm not.

Somewhere somone was saying "This is not the toy you want" .... but I ignored that Obi-Wan-ism and prevailed. Unfortunately I've been on the 'wait list' here @ amazon for months....and no luck (not their fault - Hasbro isn't saturating the market I guess). I refused to pay $20 and up on ebay for a less than $7 toy.

But it's not a toy.It proudly sits on my desk at work for all to admire, "oooh and aaah" over and laugh about. And they do.

I could care less about educational value or durability. It sits on my desk!!!!

(and yes, I bought two!...one to keep in the original packaging.)

This classic is still spinnin' after all these years--and now it's better than ever. The Sit 'n Spin we all know and love has been spruced up for the new millennium with flashing lights and fun tunes. Just press any of the four buttons on the handle, and you're spinning to one of six classic tunes. Sure, it may be a little snazzier than you remember (thanks to the new colors), but the goal remains the same: hours of dizzying enjoyment. Your kids will love taking this whirling wonder for a spin just as much as you'll enjoy watching them. Requires three AA batteries and a Phillips screwdriver for assembly (not included). --Melissa Wilson ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars We like this toy
We got this for my daughter as part of her Christmas this past year at 3 years old and she loves it. My son had one of the old ones...we liked it too, but it did not have the lights and sounds. It is very durable too. I think it is a good choice.

2-0 out of 5 stars They ruined a great classic toy!
I didn't think it was possible, but the manufacturer made the Sit N Spin worse when they added lights and sound. It USED to be a great toy! First, the music is the most obnoxious rockabilly-ish stuff I've ever heard.Second, its way too loud for the children's ears, in my opinion.Third, there is no "off" button for the lights/music (every parent's nightmare). We bought this for our daughter for Christmas, and I took the batteries out after the first day. What a relief!!

2-0 out of 5 stars can be hazardous
Our 15 month old daughter loves her sit and spin, LOVES IT!.We didn't put batteries in it because we read the complaints about the music. She used it every day.The problem is that whenever we go to move it, the top hand wheel pops off, so you have to pick it up by the entire base.Lesson learned, easy fix, just use more care.Until last night, when she was gleefully smiling and spinning, the hand wheel popped off, and she banged her head on the floor. My baby's not much of a crier, but boy did she cry after that!I may try the liquid nails that another person recommended, because she loves this toy sooo much.Just be aware of the hazard! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Are you sane?
WEll you wont be if you buy this grill!!! My MIL bought this toy for my 21 month old twin boys to play with while daddy grills outside... is this toy a nightmare!!!

First of all educational value... NONE... who wants their TODDLERS (who are in the copying stage by the way) repeating the same rude and innapropriate gas jokes that this grill says? I have heard them making fart sounds with their tounges, and than saying something resembling "that wasnt me!"... TOTALLY INNAPROPRIATE... and my sons thought it was hysterical to grill eachothers faces, and I found them doing the same thing on the real grill (IT WAS OFF... DONT WORRY GUYS), though with the NON TALKING grills they have never had a problem... gee??

DURABLITY... again this toy is broken with wind... who designed a lid for toddlers that falls off if a speck of lint falls onto it... The toy is not made well at all...

ABNORMALITIES (although it cant be abnormal for THIS toy because it happened to all of the reviewers) The food wont stay on the spatula, NEVER so its just soo fustrating, even for me, let alone two toddlers!!! The grill doesnt know what he's talking about because if you put the ketchup in his hand he says it mustard and vise versa, same thing with the fork and spatula... UHG!!! This toy also turned on if anyone walked by it, I mean seriously!!! It would turn on if no one was there... talk about lonely!!! And we DID turn it off and it did say "see ya later" when you pushed the red button, but it still talked!!! But when it got a little soda (and I mean about an ounce) on it... forget it!! I took out the batteries because I thought it was broken but it still talked, and now constantly... AHHH!!! We put it in the closet, and it was getting louder!! SERIOUSLY... we ended up breaking it with a sledge hammer, I am sorry for all of you who wind up with the same problems we faced... We now use our Deluxe kitchen inside, and a cuter grill (that you ca actually grill on it when standing!!) for outside... NO MORE TALKING APLIANCES FOR US

Maybe its just our grill, but this drove us off the wall to the point that we viciously broke this toy... I mean come on.. and I am NOT EVEN EXAGERATING!!!! and the worse thing... OUR SONS WERE PETRIFIED!!! They would scream if it talked to them, they would cry when it would start talking in the night, they thought a ghost was turning it on... So now that this grill is "dead" there is a restored peace in our house... It SHOULD be ILLEGAL to sell such an annoying toy to toddlers... please dont buy this grill

4-0 out of 5 stars Grillin' Fun
My son received this toy for his 2nd birthday. He couldn't wait to get it out of the box!Once the grill was out of the box, he actually sat for more than 30 minutes and played with it.It's the first time I have ever seen him sit longer than 2 minutes! He loves it! My 6 & 8 year old enjoy playing with the grill with their little brother.Great gift!

For a parent - the two improvements that I would have Playskool make would be something to hold the plastic food in and a on/off switch.Mine does not go off at all until my son activates it but I'm afraid when the batteries start going low it might start going off. The lid on ours does not come off.

3-0 out of 5 stars Tip Toe by this Toy
We thought this was cute, and both my 2 yr old and 4 yr old enjoy playing with it albeit for very short periods of time. However, the lid comes off more often than it should and it's easy to lose your burgers & buns in the toy box. My biggest complaint about this toy is that it is sound activated, so even at 3am a bump in the night sets this toy off. Take care when walking by as it will loudly say, "FIRE ME UP!", usually just after you get the baby to sleep or some other time you would like quiet. The kids like it, but this toy's cuteness rubs off quickly and it becomes annoying. ... Read more

Editorial Review

The toy industry can be as fickle as fashion design. The hottest toy of one year's holiday season can often be found in the heavily discounted clearance section mere months later. But through all the fads and trends, Play-Doh remains just as popular as ever. This comprehensive set features six cans of the Doh itself along with plastic rolling pins, scissors, extruding tools, and cookie cutter molds. But perhaps the set's best feature is one that may go overlooked: it's all stored in an incredibly convenient big plastic barrel with a sealable lid. Play-Doh, for all its numerous virtues, does tend to dry out over time as those little plastic cans are often accidentally left open. But if young modelers can just get the goo back in the barrel and close the lid, it should stay moist and pliable enough for future use. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars 3-yr old loves this...
I got this for my son's 3rd birthday. He wasn't too into playdoh before now, and when we did play, I had to make everything. He'd ask me to make complicated things (bulldozer, vacuum) and get really frustrated when I tried to get him to make things. Since we got this bucket he loves it and plays on his own for at least 30 minutes! He needs help now and then but he really enjoys all the parts. We've only had it a few days but we've played with it at least a few times each day since we got it. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Appears fun to kids at first but is also dangerous
Our one-year-old nephew received the ball popper as a birthday gift this past weekend, and all of the 3 and 4-year-old kids at the party were quickly excited and interested in helping keep the balls moving and flowing. It's looks like a great toy to play with, but it was surprising how many times the balls kept shooting out all over the place. It seems sort of "out-of-control" for a 9-month-old (min. age indicated on the box) to play with.At first we considered getting this toy for a friend's child, since it seemed to be such a hit with all of the kids. However, the most horrifying aspect of this toy is that a child's arm can get caught inside the hard, plastic hose where the balls are supposed to be dropped. The suction from the motor keeps the child's arm trapped inside the hose until the toy is shut off.We witnessed this happen to two of the kids who were playing with the toy. Also, sometimes when the toy was turned on, the air motion reversed for no reason so that the balls didn't pop out like they were supposed to.This didn't really seem to present a problem with the toy; it was just puzzling.I won't be buying the toy for our friend's child because of the suction issue.

4-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun
My one year old daughter and everyone who ever saw this toy thought it was lots of fun.The ball popping produced many days of laughter. The only problem I found is that sometimes the toy came apart.

5-0 out of 5 stars my kids love this toy!

we got this as a christmas gift for my 2 kids who where 4 months and 17 months at the time . even at 4 months the second i turned it on he was smiling and cooing he loves it. and my daughter loves to play with all the time its her most favorite toy she plays with all the time. also the handle is very easy for her to push down by herself and after a month of me showing her she can do it all by her self.now hes 8 months and she 21 they really love it he plays with it all the time. the only problem is i need to getv another one because they are fighting over it and she takes it fom him all the time! ... The Sonic Speedracer Raceway brings the excitement of high-speed racing and car stunts to the preschool set. Packed into a sturdy plastic play set with a carry handle, the raceway unfolds into a large figure-eight race track, complete with a winner's circle, service pit, and a variety of accessories that add a nice realistic touch. The entire set is oversized and simple to use. At first, preschoolers may want to just push the two include race cars around the track. But with a little practice--and maybe a little help from mom and dad--they should have no difficulty revving up the self-powered race cars so that they can perform stunt jumps across the tracks. Adult assembly is required, but no batteries are required for operation. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Quite Possibly the best toy we ever bought!
We got this race track for our sons (17 months and 3) for Christmas. They learned how to work it themselves very quickly. It's now May and they still play with it almost every day!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great fun for parents too!
My 2 1/2 yr old daughter had to have this after playing with it at her cousins house. She loves this toy. She is such a girly girl that we would have never guessed she would like a racecar set. Does not need batteries, you just put the stickers on and a few other pieces and let your child have fun! She loves to play with it with her dad! Very sturdy, folds up and has a little handle to carry it around. The onlynegative is it is pretty large even though it folds up.

Dinner's on! A cute toy for budding chefs, this make-believe kitchen lets preschoolers pretend they're cooking along with mom and dad, and features a couple of chatty appliances: Bake the Oven, Zap the Microwave, and Mixy the Blender. Pressing the red buttons on the stovetop makes them talk ("Hey, Mixy--what's shakin'?" "I am!"), while Bake the Oven's eyes and mouth move. There's also a whole spread of plastic food and utensils, including a freshly baked pie, a slice of pizza, a sauté pan, and a pair of sunny-side-up eggs. Other elements include a tick-tocking timer and two attachable shelves. Included are three AA batteries. --Andy Boynton ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars More fun for adults than kids
I asked for this toy for my kids for Christmas because I have two other Playskool "like mommy's" toys.Mike the Mower, and Dusty the Vacuum. This looked GREAT on the shelf.I had a blast playing with it.When my then 2 year old and then 8 month old got it I was excited. As I write this they are 27 months and 13 months.Neither of them plays with this toy consistently, for very long, or every day.I will admit that the ages listed for this toy are 3-8 and my kids aren't that old, but my son mows with Mike and vacuum's with Dusty every time I do, so I took the chance.Out of respect for the ages listed I will put the kitchen and Bobby Q in the closet for a few months and see if my son likes them better after he turns 3!!Also, it is very small and both kids have to kneel to play with it, so it need to be on a shelf, and the pegs that are supposed to hold it upright constantly come off.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun and Space Friendly Too!
This toy is packed with fun.It isn't huge but plenty big enough to have a couple kids play at the same time..in fact my three play together with it.As some body else said..either sitting on the floor or popping it on a table is the way to go.Several neat little talking and sounds features and opening doors make this long lasting fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars My 3 year old loves it!
I had been hesitant to get this kitchen for my son. When looking at it in the store, the dialog didn't seem to have anything to do with what button you pushed.
Well, my son got it as a gift for his third birthday. He didn't even wait until it was completely unwrapped! He climbed up onto to table & started playing!
Once you flip the switch from "demo" to "play", this kitchen is wonderfully interactive! He just cracks up when it "cooks" eggs or pancakes! The toy doesn't know which item is actually being "cooked", but my son doesn't seem to care.
This is one toy that gets played with every day! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy
Both my kids love this toy so much. Yeah some of the things fall off (some of them are meant to). The only thing that they dont like is when the slide falls off but it snaps right back on. They are 32 months and 20 months (2 1/2 and 1 1/2) and this is one of the few toys that keeps their attention for more than a few minutes. Most toys they will play with for the first couple days and then maybe a few minutes every now and then but not this one. I have no clue what it is. To me this looked like a silly toy with no point but they loved it so much I bought them the Weebles farm too! And they like it too. Maybe a little too much..they want to play with them instead of going to sleep!

2-0 out of 5 stars discs stopped spinning
I recieved this as a gift for my 18 month old. After about a month, the discs stopped spinning. Has not been touched since.

5-0 out of 5 stars Loves It!!
I purchased this for my daughter at Christmas. She LOVES it. It is one of the 3 (out of about 15)toys that she plays with constantly.I don't understand some of the moms complaints about it coming apart.Yes the bench slides off (its supposed to). The sign comes off constantly...it's supposed to! Yes, they can rip off the slide...it's a TOY.The great thing is that all of these things go right back into place because...they're supposed to!Forgive my sarcasm, but this is a toy and it's made for babies to play with andd pull apart.Even the doors come apart. My daughter loves the music and she beats on it and sits on it and it still works beautifully.Fun toy...for Mommy too!! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars I love tater head!
We all had one growing up, but it never had this many pieces! It is awesome!

5-0 out of 5 stars A true classic
I loved it as a kid, and now my two year old does too. He loves putting all the pieces on even if they're not in the right spot. He has two potato heads, so they're "friends". This is a great toy for toddlers, it keeps them busy and lets them be creative.

4-0 out of 5 stars Potato fun
I bought this toy for my 19 month old daughter. She loves putting the pieces in, taking them out and putting them in different locations. We have had this for a week and she still asks to play with it.

I had two small issues with this toy. Straight out of the box some of the slots are a little too tight for the pieces to fit easily. Once an adult fits the pieces in a couple of times the problem goes away. My other issue is the briefcase. It is hard to fit all the pieces back in again for storage. Also, the latch doesn't hold very well, and the case pops open when it shouldn't. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars very cute, but the music is too loud
My 1-year-old daughter loves this "baby".I had one of these as a kid, and it was almost impossible to turn on, but this one turns on very easily when she hugs it.She also seems to really like the music.

The only thing I don't like is that the music is too loud.If she accidentally turns it on in her sleep, it's loud enough to wake her back up.So while it's an adorable toy, I wouldn't recommend it for bedtime.

4-0 out of 5 stars Glo-ee - We Love It!
My daughter loves the Gloworm.I like the fact that it is small enough for my 11 month old to hold herself. It seems smaller than the older Gloworm that I remember.Sadie loves the light and the music. She has finally figured out how to turn the music on by herself. It is so cute to see her get so excited when Glo-ee shows up.She hugs the doll so tightly.

It is nice that the toy has different switches - one for the light by itself and one for both lights and music.I wish there was just an on/off switch because, when the batteries start running out, the worm makes weird sounds!

I also like the fact that the inside mechanism can be removed and the doll itself can be washed - even in the machine, which I consider a bonus.

My only criticism would be that the toy is very draining on batteries. We are on our third set in less than a month, and that includes cheap as well as expensive batteries.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good choice for the price
My 9 month old daughter just received this toy as a gift. At first it doesn't look like much, but it turns out to be pretty entertaining. She likes the music ( which may I add is easily achieved by pusing lightly anywhere on the stomach) and how the head lights up too! Overall, for the price this is a great toy! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Her first car.....
Yes, my daughter treated this as her very first car. She parked it, and was very territorial with it. This all lasted about 6-8 months. Now she just uses it as a secret storage. If we can't find something of hers, we can always look in the little compartment and find what's missing!! I love this item as she played with all of the features on it. She didn't push herself until she was almost 18 months old, laziness is my guess. I recommend this as an indoor ride on.

4-0 out of 5 stars It Gets the Job Done
We bought this for our son when he started cruising at about 8 months. At first he was only interested in the noise makers but as he gained confidence he started to really move around with it and now he LOVES it.It has also helped him increase his balance. The base isn't really wide enough for new walkers as they tend to walk with their legs wider apart but our son didn't have any problem working around that. You do need to be careful on floors that aren't carpeted since the wheels will move fast - maybe too fast for a little one.I chose this particular model because it's one of the few on the market WITHOUT noise and lights, etc.It was easy enough to put together but it does take some practice to make the conversion from ride-on to walker.Once you get it, it's a breeze - just make sure you test it with a tug before you let baby have at it.It's very cute and our son loves the toys on it and likes to make a game of "hiding" toys in the storage compartment.

5-0 out of 5 stars Son loved this car!

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool..indoors and out
These playskool 'working toys' are the greatest. we own the mower and the vacuum for my 2 yr old..he LOVES them both. Very durable and not too loud that it drives the parents crazy but makes cute talking sounds and working sounds. Definitely a great gift for a 2 yr old and up.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy
My 2 year old son got this as a gift for his birthday in September, so he's been using it in the house all winter and just loves it.Thankfully he doesn't mind that I turned off the sound effects when he races around the house with it.I know he's going to enjoy using it outside!!VERY STURDY!We got a bubble blower mower last summer and it was hard to push on grass and was very flimsy...plus the bubbles only worked for a few minutes. This one is a keeper, however!!

2-0 out of 5 stars This toys needs a manners lesson!
The durability is fine, it moves on grass well and the mowing sound is cute...BUT the faces can be a little scary for younger or more timid children. The MOST IMPORTANT part...the phrases this mower has and the fact that it burps...it is just rude and unecessary! These are things I want to teach my children not to do.We returned it and purchased the Little Tykes mower for now and we are considering a John Deer. ... Editorial Review

Kids won't be afraid of the dark with this heavy-duty flashlight by their beds. It looks just like the one you carry in your car, but it's made for kids. For one thing, it shines in white, green, or red light with the turn of a switch, and it has an automatic shutoff. If the bar underneath the handle isn't pressed down, the flashlight will shut off in 30 seconds. It also has a manual on/off switch, so kids can feel like they're in total control. Mom or Dad will need to help install the batteries with a screwdriver, but after that kids will be off to explore the darkest corners of the closets or on a jungle safari through the living room. --Lynne Sampson ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great portable and compact flashlight for 3-yr-old hands!
We bought this flashlight for our 3-yr-old grandson, after noticing that during visits he loved to play with our 'grown-up' one. While ours was too heavy and awkward for him to manage easily, this miniature version was perfect for him! We did buy the 'Three Color Fun Light' from OneStepAhead at the same time. He found the 'Fun Light' a little more, well, ...Fun! Its multi-functional capacity really fascinated him and kept him entertained. But the 'Color Glow Flashlight' however, is easier to bring on trips and takes up less room to pack, doesn't run low on batteries quite as fast... and is, of course, simpler to use!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for little flashlight theives!
my almost 2 year old recently discovered our flashlight. living in an area prone to blackouts, i didn't like the idea of her playing with it and flattening the batteries. so i came across this product, and its just perfect for her! it switches off after 30 seconds so the batteries will last. and its educational. she has learned about the colours red and green, and says 'red!' and 'geeen!' when the colour appears on her flashlight. a fabulous alternative to flat batteries in your grownup flashlight.

5-0 out of 5 stars the best money spent so far
We got this flashlight for my son when he was a little over 2 and he is now over 4 and uses it every night in bed.It has been camping, moved 4 times, dropped, lost and found and is as good as the day we bought it.I LOVE IT, and so does my son.It fades slowly, so not to waste batteries is bright enough for him to not be scared. The perfect gift for a toddler!! ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Kind of Loud!
My daughter loves this toy especially when I am on the phone!I think it is a great way to teach children the vlaue of cleaning up, but it is so loud!!!She likes to play with it while I am vaccuming and that is fine, it gives her a chance to mimic me, but the loud sound the wheels make is very aggrivating!

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NIT BUY THIS TERRIBLE TOY
I purchased this toy because it looked cute.I like the phrases it says but the grinding noises are too much for me to stand.I don't usually get bothered with the loud toys but this sound is awful. Please don't buy this toy it really isn't worth it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Daughter likes Dusty
I got this toy for my daughter for Christmas. It was a little sentive in the box.My husband and I had a laugh when I brought this in off the porch and the box started talking to me.I like that the voice isn't very loud.My daughter has had this for a few months now and she still plays with it a few times a week. She does lose interest, but not so much that he gets forgotten. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars great toy
My kids 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 love the Weebles toys. Between this and the Weebleville Town toy I have lots of extra free time to clean and cook! Woo-hoo! Its keep their attention for a long time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for the kids
My 13 month old and my 4 year old love this toy. It's one of the few toys that brings them together to play nicely.Even thought it has music, I think it's at a perfect volume.I'd really encourage anyone to buy this one.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great toy, great price!
I think the last reviewed may not understand how the toy works. It is pretty simple you push down the silo that makes the spinning, bobbing go. My son got this at 9 months and loves it. He enjoys moving the webbles around and pushing the silo. I think the webbles are a better choice for 9-18 months than the 'Little People' since they are easier to handle and can spin and slide. Great toy I will be buying more webbles for my son. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Lite Brite offers a whole new dimension to creative play with the latest rendition: the Lite Brite Cube. While the space to create on is a bit smaller, artists now have four pegged panels into which they can poke colors. The cube requires adult assembly, but once that’s done, it’s just like you remember. Choose a design sheet from the eight included--or go freeform with solid black paper--and start plugging colored pegs into their respective spots. Over 500 pegs are included in a rainbow of colors, and the cube has two drawers to store them in. (These drawers fall out quite easily and can cause a mess of spilled pegs, so be careful when transporting.) New to the peg world are Power Pegs--up to four of the same colored peg molded together for quicker completion. The Lite Brite Cube has a blue plastic handle at the top so artwork can be carried around (and shown off) easily. --Pam Lauer ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointment from alongtime Lite Brite fan...
I am a (...)college student at the University of Pennsylvania and I recently received the Lite Brite Cube as a gift from my dear mother. It was a wonderful gift idea, as I have always loved Hasbro's Lite Brite series of play things. When I first opened the Lite Brite Cube on that magical morning in May, my eyes filled with tears. These were not tears of sadness mind you, but tears of pure joy.I had a feeling my mother would get me the Lite Brite Cube, but it wasn't until it was sitting there in front of me, shining with all its beautiful lights and colors, that I knew it was for real.My mother really loved me, she knew the Lite Brite Cube was my only desire -- my only love.

Once I wiped away the tears and took a nap with my mother to calm down, I used the Lite Brite Cube for the first time and, I must say, I was extremely disappointed by the overall quality of this particular product. In years past, I have always used my Lite Brite to make pictures of my favorite things in life: flowers, bunny rabbits, and especially, CANDY!!I love CANDY!But whenever I tried to make pictures of CANDY on the Lite Brite Cube, the black coating would peel off and cause me extreme discomfort. It got to the point where I couldn't even use the Lite Brite Cube, for the discomfort it cause me was so severe.I began losing control of my bodily functions every time I so much as thought about the Lite Brite Cube -- all because of the disappointment I was feeling at a crucial element of my youth ruined by the corporate codfeathers who designed the Lite Brite Cube.

While I recommend the original Lite Brite(Tm) to any mother looking for the perfect gift for her college son, I simply cannot give my reccomendation to the Lite Brite Cube.I'm sorry......very, very sorry.I love you mom.

3-0 out of 5 stars The good news and the bad news....
I have a six year old daughter who is a calm player. She has two wild child friends who are very destructive, ages seven and ten. The Good News:
One rainy day I pulled out one of her Christmas gifts: the four sided LITE BRITE CUBE and they all played very nicely and quietly for an hour or two. Believe it or not none of them had ever seen a LITE BRITE before! I thought "What a gem....a great toy IMPROVED UPON by making it four sided so a bunch of kids can all play at once with very little "Gimmee! Gimmee!" (they tryed to fight over colored pegs...but there are little shelves to hold the pegs in nicely).
The bad news:
The pages went very quickly! And I'm havin a devil of a time finding refills. I asked my friends "Do they make them? They must!" Well, searching online I found out they DO indeed make them (in popular pictures like SCOOBY DOO and SPONGEBOB) but, man oh man, they cost about $5.99 for 8 sheets!!! Thats too much! For $5.99 you should at least get, say, TWENTY sheets!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars WHERE'S THE OLD LIGHT BRIGHT??
I GOT THIS LIGHT BRIGHT FOR MY 7 YEAR OLD VISUALLY IMPAIRED SON TO HELP WITH FINE MOTOR AND THINKING IT WOULD BE LIKE THE OLD LIGHTBRIGHTS.HE HAS AN OLD ONE AT HIS G'MAS THAT HE ENJOYS.
ON THE LIGHT BRIGHT CUBE YOU MUST USE THE PAPER OR THE PEGS FALL OUT.FOR HIM FEELING THE HOLES TELLS HIM WHERE TO PUT THE PEGS AND WHEN YOU PUT THE PAPER ON HE CANNOT FEEL THE HOLES!I REMEMBER THE OLD LIGHT BRIGHTS THAT YOU COULD USE THE PAPER OR NOT AND THE PEGS STILL STAYED IN, THESE PEGS FALL OUT WITHOUT THE PAPER.IT WAS A DISSAPOINTMENT.GUESS I WILL LOOK FOR THE OLD STYLE AT A YARDSALE.

5-0 out of 5 stars works for us
My son is 20 months old and has played with this toy for over a year.He learned how to press the lever to proceed through the letters, numbers, without using the ball, but he still returns to making shots. The top has come off a few times, but only when he picks it up by the top half to drag it around. My son doens't have the attention span for many toys, but I sit and make shots with him and he still enjoys it.I like the fact that is shuts itself off after a few idle minutes.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money
This toy looks cute online and says it will "grow" with your child...sure, if your child never grows past the height of a 13 month old! It's too small, even at it's highest height. While it can stand a few bangs and bumps (my child dragged it around the house) do not get it near anything wet. My son tripped and spilled a little juice on it and the thing hasn't said a word since. I tried everything but it won't come back on! There are better toy basketball sets to spend your money on. Leave this one for the very, very young.

3-0 out of 5 stars toy stopped working after 2 months
We bought this toy for my 7 month old son for Christmas 2003.We didn't open it for him until March and by May the score board stopped working. We changed the batteries, nothing happened. We called Playskool and they said they were sending another and we never received it.They sent my son a talking chainsaw instead. He got the Little Tikes 3 in 1 sports set (basketball, baseball, golf) for his birthday and there have been no problems with that. The Little Tikes is a lot more toy for the money, too.Same price, but with three sports. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great conversation starter
This phone was given as a gift to my 18-month old (at the time) twin boys. Like all babies/toddlers they love having their own phone. What's great about this phone is that it not only dials and rings, but it provides a variety of greetings and phone messages. I have often found my sons repeating the phone greetings, in the appropriate contexts. A great learning toy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Can you hear me now????
Super cute, would gave it 5 stars but the face plates are too hard for the younger set to change.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for a busy toddler
I purchased the cell phone for my 16-month old niece for Christmas.Out of all the gifts she got, this is the one she carried around and kept going back to.She is just starting to talk and would hold it up and say "Hi!" and have her own little conversation. Her Mom thinks its great too, now, she can talk on the "adult" phone without interruption, while the little one talks on "her" phone. She hasn't quite managed the changing of faceplates yet, but is happy with the phone in whatever mode it operates. She drops it and throws it quite often and it has held up quite well. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Star wars FUN for little ones
This is a brilliant toy.My 2 year old loves it.IT is not complicated, it doesn't make any noise, it is big enough for a toddler to handle but still offers action play. I think it is a great attempt at introducing toddlers to STAR WARS without it being a stuffed EWOK. I love Star Wars and I am thrilled to be able to share it with my children. My four year old likes this toy as well, so I think it will have a longer life span than most toddler toys. I also feel it appeals to boys and girls in that it is not designed in a gender specific way, as so many things are.YOu will be pleasantly surprised at its appeal and durability. This was a gift but I can see buying more in this series- check out the R2D2 and CSPO- they look awesome. It is especially nice not to worry about losing small pieces.BUY THIS TOY if you LOVE STAR WARS... Afterall, not EVERY toy has to teach you the alphabet. ... Read more
