    5-0 out of 5 stars Spongebob+Leapster=Learning!
I highly recommend this Spongebob cartridge for the Leapster system! My little boy is a big spongebob fan and on Christmas morning he got from Santa a leapster and some Leapster games, of course Spongebob is one of his favorites. My little boy is almost 4 and he completely understands each game included on the spongebob cartridge and in the 3 months we have had this game he is already going to higher levels with the game.It teaches while letting your child have fun and that is what is the most important, if your child is having fun while learning they will continue to keep learning!
This spongebob cartridge teaches the values of money, colors, music game and more. The voices sound the same as on the cartoon and it keeps my little boy intrested in playing it still after 3 months he plays this game on a daily basis!
I would suggest this leapster cartridge for all!

5-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Coolio
This game is very exciting for my son, he is five, I am teaching him to read his blends and this is a great reinforcer. I enjoy watching him do the math (one with the coins) as well as watching him make words.

2-0 out of 5 stars Alright... if you really like SpongeBob
The idea of this game is that the child helps Sponge Bob collect ingredients to create a new secret sauce. The animation is cute, but the games are too easy (my son is 4) and it takes too long to collect the ingredients. Once enough ingredients are collected, the child then gets to play "kitchen chemistry" which is not much fun. The child can either guess at the recipe or tap or SpongeBob to get it. Patrick does the taste test and it is funny to watch his reactions, but "kitchen chemistry" is just not exciting, interesting nor challenging enough to keep the child coming back for more.

In addition to "kitchen chemistry", the cartridge has four other games:

"Counting Claw": Has 3 levels, deals with counting change. the child sticks coins into a slot until he has put in the right amount. My son blindly sticks the coins in the slot until SPongeBob reacts. Then he enjoys playing the claw machine game and the wacky prizes that come out. But he learns nothing.

"Conveyor Chaos": Very similiar to the bunny game that comes with the leapster system. Done a little better, but not very versatile.

"Musical Garden": The child only has to play with assorted sea music until the timer runs out. The child's symphony is not played back. Music appreciation?? Whatever.

"Bubble Scrubber": The one redeeming game on this cartridge. Unfortunately it only deals with 4 letter words. And there is nothing to entice the child to try more challenging levels. I did get my son to start using level 3 instead of 1 by playing it with him and now he prefers level 3. Although I do know the value of repetition, a few more words would be nice.

After experiencing First Grade (which is still my son's favorite), I was disapointed. This game is only mediocore.

5-0 out of 5 stars 4-Year-Old's Favorite Toy
We got the Spongebob Bounce 'Round for Christmas 2003 for our son, then almost 3.So now we have gotten over a year's worth of use out of it.My son loves it now as much as he did when we first got it.I, too, thought it was expensive, but I did not realize how durable and well-made it would be.The canvas is really thick and durable. As someone else mentioned, it is made so that it "breathes", so it doesn't matter if it gets a small hole in it, but I have not had any, and it has taken a TON of abuse from my boys. Also the pump is super powerful - it really does fill up completely in less than one minute. Not only do my kids bounce in it, but they pretend it is their "house" and do lots of pretend play in it.My only complaints - and these are minor - is that the storage bag that it comes with is too small - you'd have to be Houdini to get the bouncer back into it.On my last attempt to do just that, the zipper gave out, so now I have no good way to store it.Also - the pump is not very well balanced and doesn't have a large enough base, so it is always tipping over.Probably not very safe.Lastly, it is pretty noisy, but I've gotten used to it.Overall, I think the bouncer is a great value and always the first thing kids want to do when they come over, and it's a great way for kids to get exercise and burn energy on a yucky day.

5-0 out of 5 stars Get One of These!
We got one for Christmas, and my 3 kids have had a blast! What a wonderful toy to have on hand for yucky, rainy days when the kids are driving you batty. The set-up is really simple, and it really does keep them entertained for hours. It's great for them to have friends over and have something fun to do.We've used it indoors and will probably take it outdoors when the weather improves. It seemed really expensive to me at the time, but now I'm glad we spent the money. It's worth it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Bounce 'Round
This Bounce 'Round just made my child's day. There is nothing better!

If anyone is curious about the bounce letting out air, it is designed to do that, which is why it comes with the continuous air blowing fan.If it didn't release air at the seams, it would pop like a balloon and wouldn't be too much fun to bounce on! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars funniest game I every played
I can't believe someone said this game was boring and had bad graphics. I think they are confusing it with another sponge bob game. the very 1st spongebob game for playstation (back in 2001) did have really bad graphics and was very simple, my 5 yr old could complete the game, and I was able to finish the whole game in One night.

But the new one 'Battle for Bikini Bottom' is Nothing like the 1st one, the graphic look like your watching the actual spongebob cartoon in 3-D. And you never get bored with this game each stage has so much to do!!! Like smashing enough tikki's, trading flowers with Mr. Krab's for a golden spatula, climbing hard to reach places to find extra underwear, fitting robots, bowling, bubble smashing, jellyfishing, bungee jumping and more. Best of all you really feel like your in bikini bottom!! My son thought smashing up squirdward's house and hearing squidward tell spongebob to get out, was a hoot. I was Never bored with this game, I really hated having to turn it off to go to bed because it was so much fun play and it took me 2 months to complete the whole game because there is so much to do.

If you like the cartoon you'll love the game

3-0 out of 5 stars Spongebob Boringpants
Wow!I haven't seen any thing this boring since, well, ever.Just like Spongebob, this game is full of holes. The moves are boring (except for sandy).I mean, come on, how can you kill something with a jellyfish net?The graphics are average, the story line is trash, and the bosses are very unoringinal.Hmm,I wonder what character could look like a robotic squirrel?Basically,it's a mediocre game.Little kids will love it,but older gamers will definitely hate it.

5-0 out of 5 stars battle for bikkini bottem
This game is very fun! You get to smash tikis, and break computers. You also meet robots. It's not very educational, but it doesn't break. My little brother (he's 6) plays for hours and hours. The game is a five-star game! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Okay, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense that SpongeBob SquarePants and his starfish friend Patrick are racing around in cars. They live under the sea, after all. Wouldn’t the cars, you know, float away? But "sense" is something best dispensed of when exploring SpongeBob’s world. We are, after all, talking about a necktie-wearing kitchen sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea. This cool little racetrack is sure to please the SpongeBob faithful with thoughtfully detailed set pieces such as the Krusty Krab restaurant, and the homes of both SpongeBob and Patrick. The set features many pieces and takes a while to set up. As for the actual racing part of the set, it works fairly well, even if the cars are on the pokey side. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A real toy which teaches
This is not a toy you can fob off on your kids alone. You need to get down on the floor and play with them. And like most realtoys, you need to learn to use it, and even modify it for your kids' abilities. That's part of the educational value.

I think the complaints I have read below are because people are missing out on the fun of playing with and teaching their kids. I have uploaded some photos to the gallery to show how to make simple guard-rails which snap right into the guard-rail (!) slots on the track. Use a flat setup, not the elevated figure eight pictured on the box. Also as another reviewer wrote, just wrap a rubber band around the speed plunger to keep little ones from going too fast.

Over the years I have had lots of racing sets and I am impressed with the price and quality of this one. Well made durable track, clearly marked with letters for easy assembly. The cars have high-quality braided track brushes, just like expensive slot cars.

It runs forever on brand-x alkaline D batteries. Or you can use cheaper AA batteries with a batter upsizer kit available for a buck or two at any CVS, Walgreens, Eckerds, Walmart, or K-Mart. Upsizers are just plastic tubes which make the AA batteries as big as a D battery. You can even use rechargeables.

My son (6) and pals love playing with this toy. They laugh and shout and make up little SpongeBob stories. They like to challenge Dad and Pop-Pop to races where they really just try to run us off the track at the squeeze lanes.

Too many toys are virtual these days, like video games. Real toys like model cars, planes, boats, jump-ropes, balls, teach patience because they don't just work perfectly and teach a lot of lessons. Buy it and teach your kids the lesson that the real world is not neat or simple.

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE IT!
I can't believe all the bad reviews there have been for this awesome toy! I mean, sure, it stops some times, but it SO worth the money! If I were you, I'd get it! My brother, Bobby Gelhar, and my sister, Katie Gelhar, think that it is awesome! I love it, and I know you'll like it, too, if you like Spongebob, of course. It might have trouble the first time, but it is really fun when you get it going. I spent hours playing it and thought that is was so cool! Whoever thought of this toy is a genious!

5-0 out of 5 stars FUN!Fun, fun, and more fun!!!!!!!!
This is the coolest toy in the whole world. It is tons of fun and is easy to put together. It's obvious that you wouldn't buy it for a toddler, it is ages 8 and up. My little sister and i just LOVE it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great fun, a must for every SpongeBob fan!
I can say that again, a must for every SpongeBob fan.

With this Plug 'n Play TV Game, this thing comes with 5 games. Here is my rating on the games packed in one:

Bubble Pop - Like the classic Breakout game from Atari, with a SpongeBob twist, and lots of levels to complete. Rather than bricks it's bubbles! Wow!
    Rating: 5/5

Sandy's Surf Adventure: A resemblence of Defender and it's finest, and you get to play Sandy surfing on a clam shooting out acorns at henchmen.
    Rating: 4/5

Patrick and the Maze: Gauntlet calling, with Patrick as a main character in a coral maze, and finding friends along the way to try out little microgames!
    Rating: 4/5

Invasion of the Hooks: This is ok, but not the best out of the collection, when you first try it you might think it's fun but if you play it again later or the next day it probably gets boring, but still allright.
    Rating: 3/5

The Super Chum Bucket: A game that features Evil Plankton! On a mission to kidnap Sandy. It's up to SpongeBob to save her from the evil genius, Plankton! Reminds me of the arcade Nintendo game, Donkey Kong which debuted Mario!
    Rating: 5/5

Durability is a top standard which can stand rough playing.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Plug and Play...PERIOD!
My three year old son and I went through a plug and play phase where I basically bought every available plug and play system available. Well, I can tell you that the Spongebob plug and play is by far the best of these game systems. The games are challenging but not maddening and lots of fun. There are 5 games included on this little joystick:

    1. Spongebob's Bubble Pop (10/10): My personal favorite of the five games. Basically in the old Breakout/Archanoid game style but very fun and with 50 levels to complete!

    2. Super Chum Bucket (9/10): This is basically Donkey Kong featuring Spongebob and Plankton...but hey, Donkey Kong is a classic and this game is just as entertaining.

    3. Invasion of the Hooks: (4/10): This one is kind of lame. Sandy, Plankton and Patrick are hooked and Spongebob must save them by throwing Krabby Patties at the hooks...not much fun.

    4. Sandy's Surf Adventure (7/10): This one is a fun old school style shooter in the vein of Defender but with Sandy crusing through Bikini Bottom.

    5. Patrick and the Maze (7.5/10): Obviously a maze game but reminds me of Gauntlet. Patrick must unlock and find his friends...an entertaining game.

**A word about durability** - This plug and play has withstood some rough play (I also have a 16 month old) meaning slamming, banging and pulling of wires; yet it works everytime we turn it on. The batteries do need to be replaced every now and again for optimal performance.

So overall, if you or your kids love Spongebob or old school video games, this system is a must-own. Highly Recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very cool!
I got it for Christmas, and it ROCKS! All the games are REALLY cool, and I'm becoming a master at it! My brother, Bobby Gelhar, and my sister, Katie Gelhar, love it! I think that it is really awesome, and is REALLY REALLY COOL! I WOULD BUY IT IF I WERE YOU! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Harder then battle for bikini bottom
If you have played 'battle for bikini bottom' and thought it was fun and you bought this one thinking it will be the same, you'll be in for a Surprise!!! 'Spongebob the Movie game' is a little bit Harder then battle for bikini bottom. I was stuck on some stage for days!!! And I'm a Expert gamer, I've played just about every game out there and have been playing video games before the kids on this review board were even born!!!

But my 6 year old had a really hard time driving the crabby patty through the rings and gave up on it. It took me about 10 tries to make it through the rings and 2 weeks to complete the whole game (only playing 1-2 hours every other day). A true game player will complete this game, after throwing the controls on the ground a couple times after doing the same stage 10 times. But for younger players (under age of 8) they'll never get through last 3 stages. I agree that graphics are great, the story line is cute (better then the movie) and it is Very challenging!!! But it is not as exciting as Mermaid Man's layer in Battle for Bikini Bottom.

If you haven't played battle for bikini bottom yet, I suggest buying that 1st, it is more fun and easier!!

5-0 out of 5 stars People have no taste of games but this game rocks!
As I read, many people said that this game sucks, to hard, and computer is better. Well this game rocks!!!!! The people that said that this game is hard are just nuts. I mean when I played it, it was so EASY! If you can't pass the first level, well you just stink at games. This game is the 6th most wanted game on Earth. Besides, in computer, you don't have any violence while for the other systems you have violence. So for you people that say this game stinks, well you stink! This is like the number one game the THQ made since SpongeBob Squarepants:Battle for Bikini Bottom. This is all. Thank You.
Also, people who hate this game, well you just aren't a REAL gamer like me!
    Edward a sixth grader

1-0 out of 5 stars Not for kids!!!
Hello! Doesn't THQ have a marketing office? And how can ESRB rate this game for EVERYONE? Probably just because there is no nudity included. It's very surprising someone would conceive a video-game which is based on a character that appeals to kids under 10 that is so hard that even an adult finds difficult, if not impossible, to use it. I bought this game for my kids (5 and 6 years old) both fans of Spongebob. They could not play this game without my help and even so, not beyond level 4. They soon become frustrated and lost interest in the game after half an hour of playing it, as they got stuck with some impossible obstacle to overcome. What is the point of having a game who's based on a popular kid's character and that kids can't play? Instructions found in the booklet annexed to the game are confusing and poorly written. They're of no help at all. When I compare this game to others available for Playstation 2 (ie. Gran Turismo 3) that are truly masterpieces and quite enjoyable, I cannot but advise against buying this particular Spongebob title. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars I do not recomend at all
My children had been playing with Mario's World and the Incredibles for over 3 months. We bought this game given the good reviews but after 1 day I am very disappointed. My kids have been for over 4 hours in level two, collecting points little by litte repeting the same routines ... they who love gamecube games, got really bored and turned it off. There are no indications whatsoever about what to do in order to enjoy this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Unadulterated Fun
This is the most fun I've had playing a video game since the NES days of Super Mario Brothers. THQ continues to dazzle and amaze me with their stellar attention to graphics, detail and gameplay. The Battle for Bikini Bottom pits Spongebob, Patrick & Sandy against the evil Plankton who has created robots to take over the world. The tasks are achievable and leveled just right for its' targeted age range. But, most of all this game is just plain fun to play. Each character has special moves that enable you to achieve tasks. Being able to switch between characters for different tasks made the game more enjoyable for me. The game is somewhat long but rewarding, as the storyline is funny and entertaining. Overall, the Battle for Bikini Bottom status as a player's choice game (over 1 million copies sold) should cement it's status as a must own for the Nintendo Gamecube platform. Highly Recommended.

4-0 out of 5 stars good and solid platform game
If there's one cartooncharacter that immediately will turn a smile on my face it's Spongebob.
Everything about this yellow guy is funny: his voice, his laugh, his view on life and so on.
When I saw the game on the shelves of my favorite gamesshop I didn't hesitate to buy it, I didn't regret it a single day.
Now what's so good about it?

    Is the game innovative? Nope.
Is the game up with te best platform games like Mario, Ratchet & Clank etc.? Nope.
Is it any fun then? Yes, it's great fun!

First of all, the graphics are really great, Spongebob's 3D-world (translation from 2D) is very well done and looks very similair to the world in the series, very colorful, charming and funny. The characters too are nicely animated, especially Patrick. Spongebob himself looks a bit weird in 3D, but still very funny.

The gameplay is that of an average platform game, in some cases very like Mario 64 (turning cubes). The real fun lies in switching from characters: becoming Sandy is the most fun, flying in the air using her lasso while shouting in redneck language.
In general the game is rather easy to play and die-hard gamers will rush through this game like it is peanuts. I'm not very skilled, however, and it took me a while to beat this game. But still there are very few real challenges; some endbosses are tough to beat, especially the Spongebob-robot, but that's it.

There isn't really a story, only the knowledge that Plankton couldn't longer control his robots and that Spongebob is offered to safe Bikini Bottom for which he in return gets golden spatulas.
Yes there are quite a few cut scenes, mostly dialogues between characters which all are very funny, but you can hardly call it a story.

It may seem now that I'm pretty negative about this game in the end, but that is certainly not the case, I loved every minute I played the game, mostly because of the great looking animations, humor and overall platform gameplay.

    Good:
    - The world created: great looking surroundings, characters, robots etc. You can sense that the developers put a lot of effort and love (for Spongebob and his friends) in this game.
    - The gameplay, although not innovative and original, is solid and fun to play.
    - The humor, need I say more?

    Bad:
    - It can become repetitive after a while (especially for those who play a lot of games and obviously are spoiled in a way, as said: it isn't innovative).
    - For some a bit too easy
    - I wished more things in Bikini Bottom to be interactive, for instance the Crusty Crab: it would have been nice if you could walk into the kitchen and make your own Crabby Patty.

5-0 out of 5 stars My lil' Spongie
I bought each of my kids one of these last year-to this day they still play with this book the most-we all are a Sponge Bob Square Pants family-we watch all the shows on Nick. It is hysterical listening to the little sound effects in his usual Spongie voice. Some of the theme Leap Pad books do not come with the original voices of the characters, but this one does it is the voice of Spongebob. Nothing like having a yellow porous Sponge help your kids learn to read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sponge Bob Reading & Learning Fun!
Highly recommending this Leap Pad Book...we bought it on Tuesday and my son has already enjoyed countless hours of reading, math and matching games. He even brought it with us in the car yesterday. Lots of play and learning value!

5-0 out of 5 stars Had the whole family engaged
My twin six year old boys have had their Leap Pad for two years and this is hands down the best book we have ever had for it.They will even pass up video games and TV to play the educational games in this story. They are the kind of boys who love their characters and this is the first educational book for older children that I have found that teaches through the familiar characters that they love. The whole family enjoys playing the games in this one.It has brought new life to our Leap Pad! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars A big disappointment
My kids love SpongeBob so I thought this would be a big hitBut it turned out to be a BIG mistake and a BIG waste of money!
Our Pixters were gifts last Christmas and they are still favorites. Most of the game cartridges are great too, just don't waste your money on this one.My son played with it for approx. 5 minutes, said it was no fun at all.

2-0 out of 5 stars Boring...
Don't waste your money on this Pixter game.My kids are fans of Sponge Bob, but this game loses interest quick. It is not challenging. The music is original from the show-that's about the only fun part of it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Do not recommend
My family and I love the pixter. We have an assortment of cartridges and they are great for our girls, and they love Spongebob so I thought this would be a great addition to their pixters.Wrong, this game is not enjoyable for them.As my oldest daughter but it "This is boring".The only term I can relate to it is "generic". ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Spongebob can now play your DVDs!
Spongebob is such an American icon that he has been put on everything from salt and pepper shakers to now a DVD player. Although I am not a child I received this DVD player as a gift and love it. It is a very unique shape being square rather than the average rectangle DVD player. It saves space and brings fun to the room, definitely a conversation piece! The face on the player is debossed which adds to its appearance greatly. My only complaint is that the buttons on the remote control are a bit small. Otherwise this Spongebob DVD player is a great buy and you will start each movie by seeing that Spongebob gives his rating of "4 starfish". Awesome quality DVD player! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Bonding time with Younger kids
I bought this for my 3 yr old who LOVES puzzles. The pieces are big enough for her to grab and manuever. The pictures are bright and easy enough for her to figure out where the next piece goes. NOT ONLY THAT but it includes static stickers so she can play pretend with the characters. Great gift. I recommend to parents with children 3 and up!!

    Editorial Review

While few have ever wondered what would happen if you combined the delightfully odd SpongeBob SquarePants with the classically bizarre Mr. Potato Head, it's happened. And the world is better for it. This set features a basic SpongeBob doll that can be accessorized with three different sets of eyes, two mouths, two arms, a hat, a spatula, a net, a jellyfish, and Gary the snail. From there, you're free to alter SpongeBob's moods or locate him at home or at work making Krabby Patties. We found the component parts to be easily interchangeable and the toy to be as addictive as SpongeBob's TV show. Hopefully future editions will feature SpongeBob's pals Patrick and Squidward. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

It is just like Mr. Potato Head except not as many pieces. There aren't very many options to dress SBSP, but he is always a fun toy. After a year of play, he is a little torn at the edges, but overall in good shape.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not Mr. Potato Head
I should have paid more attention to the reviews. He is top heavy. There's also no way to store the extra parts like Mr. Potato Head. But I love Spongebob anyway and he's now a part of my collection.

    Editorial Review

For slumber parties, naptime, or travel, this indoor sleeping bag is made for fans of SpongeBob. Striking a series of action poses, SpongeBob himself appears on the aqua-blue cover of the bag, while a brushed tricot lining and 16 ounces of polyester hollow fiberfill encase your sleeping child in soft, lightweight warmth. A self-repairing zipper along the side and bottom allows use as a comforter. Great for travel, this machine-washable bag/blanket makes sense for everyday use as well. I was not impressed at all with this slumber bag.The outside feels like a stiff plastic. It is not something I want my child sleeping in.I am going to take it back to the store and exchange it for a different slumber bag.

I expected a little more from this toy. The kids liked the concept of SpongeBob Walkie-Talkies but it really failed at keeping their interest. It was difficult to install the batteries and the range is barely 2 feet.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible experience
