5-0 out of 5 stars Fun to look at, not to run around with
Quick notes -- I put this together for my 6-year-old. It's the first time I've done a new-fangled Lego set, and it took me about 3 or 4 hours. The trouble is hunting for that elusive, single, specific piece, since all the pieces are grouped indiscriminately in little baggies (note to self -- use a huge table and spread the pieces out). The thing is really cool looking, but don't expect your kid to be able to run around "flying" it -- it's too fragile. Altogether a very cool toy, though.

4-0 out of 5 stars hours of fun
My parents bought this toy for my 6 year old for Christmas. It took us 2-3 hours to build, mainly because Lego does not organize the pieces in any logical fashion. This toy is much different from the legos that I built as a kid, it has tons of specialized individual pieces, and is more like building a model than a traditional Lego toy.In fact, my son has a couple of these Star Wars lego toys and once we built them we put them up on the shelf in his room for display.

Lego makes it easy for kids to put these together. The instructions are actually very nice. The age range is 9-up but my kid is 6 and he was able to read and understand the directions (I just sit and make sure that he puts the pieces together tightly).

Once assembled, I wouldn't recommend playing with it as the Lego joints can't handle twisting force very well and some joints fall apart no matter how tightly you put them together.

The only part of the model I found poor, was the entrance platform: no matter how tightly you secure the pieces, opening the door more than a couple times pulls the piston away from the connecting piece.Easily fixed, but this part of the design could have been better.

4-0 out of 5 stars "You hear me, baby? Hold together!"
Sigh... it's toys like this that make me wish I was born twenty years later than I was. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the space-theme Lego sets I used to collect and play with when I was but a wee 'Norch. But these "Star Wars" Lego toys are a whole shelf above those old-school space sets of yesteryear. A good case in point is the Millennium Falcon, which I got for Christmas from an out-of-touch aunt who apparently still thinks I'm ten years old. Well, maybe she ain't so out-of-touch, 'cuz most of the people who know me would agree that I have the maturity of a ten-year-old, with a sense of humor to match...

...but I digress. Anyhoo, I was considerin' exchanging this thing at the local brick-&-mortar Toys 'R' Us for a few new plug-&-play TV Games consoles when I just said "the #ell with it". So I opened this bad-boy up, laid all the pieces out on the floor, and turned on my VCR. Then I broke out my widescreen Star Wars trilogy tapes (I'm talkin' `bout the ORIGINAL movies (available at www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/6303617700/qid=1104468809/sr=1-5/ref=sr_1_5/104-0488135-0118334?v=glance&s=video ), NOT those silly "Special Edition" versions where Greedo shoots first), popped "A New Hope" into the player, cracked open the building instructions, and went to town while the movie played.

I finished up the whole schmear `round the time the Millenium Falcon was blastin' outta the Rebel hangar on Hoth in "Empire". Which was kinda fittin', `cuz the last thing I put together was the snowtrooper cannon, which had a pretty good resemblance to the one that was firin' at the Falcon in the scene. But the little trooper is nothin' compared to the main event, which is both a neat display model AND a cool playset for the Han Solo, Leia, C-3PO, and Chewie mini-figures it comes with. The ship opens up in a neat manner: the top hull panels open outward (sorta like a reverse aperture/bloomin' sunflower sorta deal) to reveal the interior, which includes an engine room (complete with tools ), the game-board room, gang plank, and a little stowaway space at the bow which holds a container box with some sorta scope-looking thing in it. And no, I have no clue what its purpose is, save for makin' me wonder what the heck its purpose is. Oh yes, there's also the hood-holder peg (don't ask).

Also making up the interior is the upper gun pod to help your gallant heroes pick off those pesky TIE fighters after makin' the big break from the Death Star. And let us not forget the rather cramped cockpit, which isn't quite as roomy as the "real" one was. Come to think of it, the entire Lego ship isn't quite as roomy as its cinematic counterpart. But at least it's more to scale with its figures than the Hasbro Millennium Falcon action figure playset is to its dollies...

This little booger (well, actually his thing's about a foot-and-a-half long fully assembled, which is pretty big for a Lego toy) also has a few neat features like a drop-down gangplank and escape pod. Unfortunately, the part of the gangplank pull-switch (AKA that knob-lookin' thing on the right-- er, starboard side of the vessel behind the cockpit) that connects to the plank itself often pops loose, which can be pretty frustrating when yer tryin' to re-enact the scene where the stormtroopers are searchin' the ship on the Death Star. Which leads to my big gripe about Legos: they don't stick together quite as snugly as Mega Bloks and Best-Lock blocks do. Its seems like no matter how carefully I move this thing about, there's always a piece or two that doesn't wanna hang onto the rest of the ship during the trip. Kinda makes ya see the irony in that Han Solo line "You hear me, baby? Hold together!" doesn't it? Eh, maybe not...

On the upside, it is kinda cool how this blows apart into a zillion pieces when I collide it into the TIE Bomber Lego ship I got from auntie last year, and then try to reassemble `em using my burgeoning "force" powers! Sadly, the whole "reassembling-the-Legos-using-the-force" thing hasn't been workin' out for me lately. Guess I gotta work on gettin' my midi-chlorian levels up to par, hmm?

Lego has done it again; giving us another awesome addition to their Star Wars collection, this time with this two-piece Revenge of the Sith set. You construct both the Jedi Starfighter that Anakin Skywalker (figure included) pilots in combat, as well as the Vulture Droid of the Separatist arsenal. Both of these models stand alone as finely detailed Lego units equipped with some of the best decals you’ll find. The instructions take you step by step through the simple assembly of both vehicles so there is no difficulty in achieving results. Have fun outfitting the models following the step-by-step directions or go off on your own to create unique Star Wars ships. This is a Lego product so you’ll want to be aware of the numerous small pieces that aren’t suited for young children (recommended 7+ years of age). There’s fun to be had with this toy for Star Wars collectors or Lego fans alike! --Chip Quinn ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME TOY!!!
I jsut got this toy today and it is awesome!!! People lie they say it falls apart easly that is total poppycock. it is very durable and i will have much fun playing with this and all my other star wars lego sets that i have now and that i will get in the future.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great and Durable
This lego was great and was the second episode 3 lego I got.I think that lego could have made this item a little bit better but overall, it was pretty cool. If lego had only put a little more on it, it would be the perfect lego. Still, it is a great lego and is defenitally worth the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Favorite Toy
This is a good toy. I think that the best thing about it is the things that open up. The only problem is that the cockpit keeps falling apart. I also like the action figure. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The better X-Wing; the best re-release
As far as overall appeal, piece count, size enhancement, and added bonuses, the 4502 X-Wing Fighter is, by far, the greatest re-release in the Star Wars Lego line. (The only other comparable re-issue might be the Falcon.) With this set you go from 263 pieces in the 7140/7142 X-Wing to 563! That's a 300-piece increase, which, by anyone's standards is worth the increase in price (I hope). And while a number of those added parts are used in Yoda's hut, the disparity between the two X-Wings is anywhere from vast to incredibly immense. The only negative difference here is the color scheme; in 'The Empire Strikes Back', the X-Wing is obviously gray, not white. But that's a minor hitch in such a beautiful set.

This set comes with three minifigs: Yoda, R2-D2 and Luke, who sports Dagobah apparel (torn green shirt, backpack) rather than the typical orange, X-Wing Fighter outfit. So you don't get Biggs Darklighter or the rebel mechanic, but that's because this is in fact a Dagobah-themed set. Along with Yoda comes his infamous hut. It can unfold from its cozy, stoplight-shape so that you can see everything inside, which includes a stovetop & saucepan and a (small) eating area. Yoda does not come with a lightsabre, but instead a walking stick. Now on to the X-Wing....

One of the first things you will notice about this set is that the way the wings extend is a great deal more complicated. In the original X-Wing, all you had to do was "click" them up or down one notch. Here, an onslaught of technic pieces come together to allow you simply to turn a knob and, thus watch the four wings move into place all at once. Most impressive. Also, the wing size is much larger, making it a wider load. The snout here is also enlarged, by about an inch, which makes it look all the more prominent. A couple more things: the area that holds R2 is, fittingly, more enclosed and the Dagobah swamp theme is carried out even on the X-Wing itself, with a couple of seaweed leaves. These are all small-but-important added bonuses.

Putting this set together took well over an hour, although it never became tedious or tiresome at any point. And I couldn't be happier with the outcome. The only thing that keeps this X-Wing from being "perfect" is its durability (or lack thereof). Here and there a piece may come flying off at you, whether it's the antennas attached to the wings or the seaweed leaves. The wings are pretty stable as long as you NEVER use your hands to move them up and down. That creates a huge re-assemblage mess I hope no one ever experiences. I guess I am inclined to say that this set works best as a displayer, as I don't recommend zooming it from Dagobah to Cloud City and back too often, if you know what I mean. All in all, I couldn't recommend a Star Wars Lego set more than this one. The price is right when you consider you're getting a much better, much bigger X-Wing and Yoda's hut--something that would have been sadly missed had it not appeared somewhere. Get this set before it zooms past you.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cool Set
This is one of the most confusing ships to build for me. I love the structure but it will break easily. I like Yoda's hut. It comes with two good minifigs and two light sabres.

3-0 out of 5 stars don't waste your money
Overall this toy isn't worth $50. x-wing is cool, but certain parts fall off very easily. the lego yoda's hut is larger than scale compared to the movie one. In the movie luke has to crawl to get it, it's easy for him to fit in the lego one (which is kinda good, but kinda bad.) I'd say this is worth $20-$30, but no more. Many cooler legos for the same price ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Tie'd for the best of the re-releases
Being that I didn't get into the Star Wars Lego line until early 2003, I missed out on a huge number of sets. Now, I am not a big fan of re-releases--mainly because I was able to get about 85% of all the Star Wars sets I wanted thanks to [...] anyway, and also because the originals then become sort of obsolete. But the #7146 TIE Fighter was one I failed to obtain (at first; I have it now), and I was glad to see Lego changed almost nothing from the original. And what they did change was for the better (although they did get rid of the Stormtrooper).

The sleek look of the TIE Fighter is exactly the same as before, the colors are all identical, and they enhanced the Vader minifig by giving him an illustrious light-up lightsabre. I believe this was the first set to include that detail. And while they replaced my favorite minifig, the Stormtrooper, with a TIE Pilot, they also did away with that ridiculously unsteady stand thing (the main reason there's 10 fewer pieces on this set). Had they included that again, the durability would've been about a two, at best. The TIE stands better on its own anyway, although it is still a bit unstable. Oh well. Putting this set together took no longer than a half-hour, which is pretty average for a piece count of 159. It was a very easy set to assemble, with most of the building time going into the two (identical) wings.

The TIE Fighter is one of the most recognizable ships in the Star Wars universe, since it appeared in episodes IV-VI and is set to appear yet again in Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith. Although I don't consider this set to be part of the Episode III line, it was released at about the same time and compliments a Lego collection very nicely either way. If you already own the original TIE Fighter from back in 2000, ask yourself whether or not a light-up lightsabre is worth the price of an almost-identical set. Otherwise, pick this up before you miss out on it. Again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Toy
This TIE Fighter is the best toy I've ever had. At first some of it kept falling apart. But then I tightened it the best I could. So now, I can play with it as tight as can be.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Set
I really like the Tie Fighter in this set. I don't really like the Darth Vader light-up light saber. It's one of the strongest sets I've ever built. This set has a great form and also can be a link to Death Star II or the Imperial Star Destroyer. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME LEGO!!
I bought one with my allowance and have ABSOULUTLEY NO REGRETS!!
This is an awesome toy, but don't grt it unless you are going to play with it.
It comes with a rebel soldier and turret and the speeder with Luke and his co-pilot (That's Dak for all you star wars buffs).
Again it is an awesome toy.
If you really want some fun, then start saving up for the AT-AT so that you can use the tow cable.
As anybody who has legos (and siblings) knows, legos can be broken easily, but this one stays together pretty well.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best Lego i have 4 now!!!
This LEGO is AWSOME!!!!! Very durable. And fun. My favorite star wars movie is The Empire Strikes Back. And the Battle of Hoth is my 2nd favorite sceen!!! I strongly suggest getting an AT-AT with this (I'm getting one for Christmas!). You can also make the Echo Base with this set. But you need to also buy the Millinium Falcon, 2-4 X-Wing Fighters, and 1-5 more of theese. I'm getting one of each for Chrismas (go figure!).
My gripes:
1) THE GRAPPLING HOOK!!! Even though this is one of my FAVORITE features I HATE PUTTING IT ON!!! IT TOOK ME SO LONG!!! Mabye this is becuase I'm not good at tie-ing knots...
2) PUTTING DAK AND LUKE IN!!! iT'S REALLY HARD! My solution: When you take the ENTIRE top off, PUSH DOWN HARD and the ENTIRE back will come off. Don't worry! Assuming you already put Luke in... Put Dak in as well! It's a lot easier making Dak stay in without having the back on! Then put the back on!
That's about all of my gripes. In conclusion this is a GREAT LEGO!

This model of an AT-AT (All-Terrain Armored Transport) walker from 1980's The Empire Strikes Back is probably going to appeal more to Dad than to kids who don't remember this chapter of the Star Wars saga. This Lego kit comes with 1,064 tiny blocks, which, when constructed according to the detailed three-dimensional diagrams in the instruction book, form a replica of one of these four-legged turtle-like combat vehicles. The kit also includes pieces to assemble a Lego Luke Skywalker with light saber, two snowtroopers, and a ground craft. This is a complex model and is recommended for older children and adult collectors. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Star Wars Lego Set
I received this for my 11th Birthday.I'm a Star Wars Lego fan & this is the best set I've ever made.

Pros:The inside is very interesting because you can fit soldiers and vehicles inside. The whole thing is detailed. The legs can move.Comes with 1,068 pieces. It looks like how it does in the movie. It's for ages 14+ and I could still build it.

Cons:It's fragile. If you knock it over you have to put the body back onto the legs and fix the head (not too hard to fix).It takes 3 to 4 hours to build. It's also expensive.

I highly recommend this toy for anyone who's 10 or older.I think you can build it yourself.

4-0 out of 5 stars Really like this toy
My 5 year old loves Star Wars and has 2 of the sets. He is able to play with the completed ships and they stay together really well. He was able to put them together with minimal help. They are great because they are easy to store.

5-0 out of 5 stars Start Your Own Fleet
Star Wars mini vehicles allow users to create vast scenes from the movies without spending thousands of dollars. Each new model has at least one special piece so that you won't be able to duplicate it exactly by using other pieces in your collection.

The Star Destroyer is a nice looking model and, for a mini, actually has a feeling of massiveness in its design.

The directions are standard Lego format and are easy to follow. The final construction is solid (although two sloped sides can lift a little as they are on hinges to get the slope). There is no packaged instructions for combining parts of this model with others to create a different Star Wars vehicle (some of the other sets do).

All in all, very nicely done.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Star Destroyer you can afford
This is a fairly fun set, and reasonably close to the real thing as far as LEGO Star Wars Mini sets go. The main drawbacks are:

- "wings" near the back can move even though they shouldn't be able to
- no extra model to motivate you to buy the entire series (like the TIE bomber or Y wing in previous LEGO Start Wars Mini sets)
- Uses new dark gray color

The color issue is only a problem if you intend to mix the pieces with other old dark gray pieces.

On the plus side, like all of the Mini sets this is:

- fast to build
- cheap
- easy to store/display due to small size ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Mini!
I love this set. It is a great addition to any Star Wars collector, or a young fan. These mini-models alow people to be able to enjoy their favourite viechles, but without spending $100 (AT-AT, Millenium Falcon etc.) to just buy the set. Aside from the price, the mini-models are just as fun and exciting as their bigger counterparts. This set, unfortunatly, has no moving parts at all, except the circle-thingy on it's front, but it only moves a little.

Made from only 99 pieces, this set isn't very hard to build, but can be a bit demanding on consentration. The finished product can easily fit into the palm of your hand or slip into your pocket.

Also, several of the models that have been discontinued by the LEGO company, such as TIEFighter, Vader's TIE Fighter, Podracers, Sith Infiltrator, Imperial Shuttle, MTT, and Jedi Starfighter; making this a great way to obtain them for at least 75% less of the price.

I love this set!! Buy it!!

5-0 out of 5 stars bring on the minis
This is a really cool mini, it is very strong, looks like the original, but I don't see how it can be educational. Whatever, still very fun!

4-0 out of 5 stars Not As Fun As The Larger Model
Star Wars mini vehicles allow users to create vast scenes from the movies without spending thousands of dollars. Each new model has at least one special piece so that you won't be able to duplicate it exactly by using other pieces in your collection.

The Multi-Troop Transport is pretty true to the original but just doesn't seem the same if it can't deploy a load of droid troops (kind of hard to do at this scale). The finished model is a good size for playing with.

The directions are standard Lego format and are easy to follow. The final construction is solid and believable. The set includes extra parts for making part of a Y-Wing (the rest of the parts are available with the AT-At, Millennium Falcon, and the Republic Gunship).

Though the finished product is a fun set of toys--a Genosian Fighter with many mobile parts, a smoothly swinging anti-aircraft gun, and two geonosian soldiers--it is almost more like a 3-D puzzle than a toy. For younger kids who don't have the patience to wade through the directions, which, though text-free, are really quite detailed, the set may end up in a big, hopeless muddle. But for kids with the ambition and focus, or for parents who want some together time with their kids, the task of putting the thing together is certainly doable, and the result is a fun and colorful slice of the Star Wars universe for your very own. --David Stoesz ... thi set is awesom.it comes with 2 battle droids and 2 geanosians. a ship and a cannon. Bad: this ship sometimes losses one of its fragile bottom sections.Good: this ship is fun and is a great addition to any star wars lego collection!

5-0 out of 5 stars Apowerful Geonosian vehicle
This toy is the most powerful vehicle next to the Hailfire droid and that giant ball thing in the movie, well thats all the Geonosian had to battle, next to the droids. It is more versitile than the Jedi Starfighter, although only one cannon on it, it makes it up with its speed. They are powerful when attacking in packs, like when Aniken in was in the Republic Gunship, 2 of the Geonosian fighters shot the ship down as soon as Aniken got out. This lego set is kind of unstable, but I would highly recomend it to anyone.

Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun to have sitting around
It's always interesting how few pieces the LEGO people can use and still create cool little kits like this Imperial shuttle.Of course, they "cheat" a little with the increasing array of special pieces at their disposal!I've had this little shuttle sitting on top of a Pringles can as if it were a landing pad; it looks cool that way.Yes, I'm a geek.

5-0 out of 5 stars May the Lego Bricks be with you.
This is one of the coolest Lego Star Wars mini sets. It is almost 100% resembles the actual Imperial Shuttle from the Star Wars Trilogy films. Go get it before all the stock captured by the Imperial Forces. I planned to get the Lego Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator mini set. It has cool landing gears and a movable ramp. Thank you.

The Imperial Shuttle is a nice looking model and the side wings do fold into the upright position.

The directions are standard Lego format and are easy to follow. The final construction is solid. There are no packaged instructions for combining parts of this model with others to create a different Star Wars vehicle (some of the other sets do).

2-0 out of 5 stars Boring and bulky
There are some neat pieces here, like the animals for the Gungans to ride. There's a small cart for storage of "energy balls" (clear blue 1x1 cylinders) that is sorta neat. The Gungan mini-figs are the same as the Jar-Jar ones, but in different clothes.Overall, only bother getting this set if you are working on a big Naboo display and need a bunch of Gungan soldiers.

2-0 out of 5 stars Oh please.
Oh no, Lego have got to be joking. The most awful alien life forms ever seen on the TV or cinema screen are brought out in plastic form. This set is worth it for novelty value, I suppose, and it does have some useful pieces like those giant radar dish wheels and those blue lights. And being able to inflict whatever kind of torture you desire on Jar Jar Binks is worth anybody's money. ... Assembling this mighty vessel with its 686 pieces may seem daunting tosome LEGO builders at first, but the result will be well worth the effort. Largeand powerful enough to defeat any foe, the spaceship sports hatches near thefront that open to reveal secret compartments. Miniature figures of clonetroopers, super battle droids, a destroyer droid, and a Jedi knight are includedfor combating each other. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Collector's Item!!
I've purchased this item yesterday. It took me about 2 - 2 1/2 hours to build. It is fun to play with, and educational because you learn the meaning of paitence as you stide through the instruction manual, and the pile of 686 pieces looking for the right ones. My favourite parts to this set have to be the Clone Troopers, followed closely by the Gunship itself. It is truly amazing. The doors slide open, and close, the wings move up and down, and the best part is the ship opens up and a magnetic toolbox can be found inside. Oh, and two Clones can sit in the side pods, that move from side to side.

Now, I'm almost 12, and this set is quite complicated. If you're looking for easier sets, buy the TIE Bomber, AT-TE, or Geonosian Fighter. Although, I only have one of the three sets above; TIE Bomber, they are cleary easier to build. In conclusion, the sometimes 3 digit price may appear scary, and it did to me, until my local 'Bricks'n Blocks' showed me their display. Then I saw the beauty of the set.

P.S. This would have been a great set to include Anaking, Obi-Wan, and Padme Amidalla. Then it would have been perfect, wait, it already is.

5-0 out of 5 stars A #1 Toy!!!
I am a 12 year old kid who loves legos, I always have. I purchased this item using all of my birthday money and found it well worth it. The Republic Gunship took me three hours to build and when it was completed I had created a masterpiece. All the compartments, hatches and other moving parts are fun to play with and I like how there are a full five Lego figures aboard. I have found with other sets that there were not enough but with this it was just right. I also enjoyed the magnetic tool chest. My only complaint is that the two front guns were always falling off and were eventualy lost. Do not be scared off by the high price, trust me, it is worth it. ... Read more

This compact 81-piece mini set features the sinister Count Dooku in aJedi duel against the small and wise Yoda. Young LEGO builders must firstassemble the one-seated speeder for Dooku and the laser-looking machine thatstands nearby. Then the miniature figures, complete with weapons, can engage inbattle and determine the fate of the universe. 4-0 out of 5 stars Jedi Duel
This is a cool set. I really like Count Dooku's Speederbike. It has cool fins and a clip to put a lightsaber. Count Dooku's lightsaber has a curved hilt like in the movie. If you want a cool Star Wars kit, you will like this!

3-0 out of 5 stars Hee hee... "Dooku"...
Although I considered Attack of the Clones a big steamin' pile of bantha pudu, I decided to grab this Lego tie-in so my mom would have a new piece to add to her collection of Yoda memorabilia. After separating Yoda from the rest of this set and throwing it into ma's Christmas stocking, I went about assembling Count Dooku's ("Dooku"...?) speeder-bike/swoop dealie and some weird robotic arm-thingy. In spite of my disgust for the movie itself, I thought the bad count's escape craft was fairly neat looking, though it looks more like it'd be more at home under water than it would in the air. With the exception of the front windshield and tail fins, this model's pieces manage to stay tightly connected to each other.

As for the robot arm-thingy-- well, it's just weird-looking. Although it has a small degree of articulation with a ball-jointed "shoulder" and tilting base, it could've used a few more swiveling and bending parts in the arm itself. I don't even recall seeing it in the movie! Of course, considering the fact that I only watched Episode II once, and it wasn't all that memorable to me, my little lapse probably isn't all that much of a surprise. If nothing else, the robot arm-thingy makes for an interesting addition to any geekin' Star Wars LegoManiac's collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth the money- especially for Yoda!
Jedi Duel is one of those "must-have" Star Wars Lego sets. Easy to put together and great fun to play with, any SW fan would love to have this in their collection.

The set includes two minifigs: Count Dooku and YODA! Yoda comes with his green lightsaber and very short legs that cannot move. Dooku comes with his red lightsaber (with its special curved handle as seen in Attack of the Clones)and his speeder bike (more on that later). Both of the minifigs were highly detailed and I think Lego did an excellent job designing them.

Dooku's speeder bike is extremely cool. It is light-blue, with a holder for Dooku's lightsaber, and neat fins on the rear. Jedi Duel also comes with a crane, which is one of the objects Dooku tried to crush Anakin and Obi-Wan with.

Overall, this set is worth the dough and makes a nice addition to any SW collection.

The AT-AT is a really cool looking model. You can create a whole herd of the for the price of just one of the larger version.

The companion Snow Speeder is ok but is way off scale.

5-0 out of 5 stars "Target, maximum firepower!"
A friend threw this, as well as a mini Millenium Falcon Lego set at me as an early Christmas gift. After I gave `em a quick glance, I turned to him and asked, "What d'ya think I am, a freakin' ten-year-old?"

He replied, "Perhaps not in the physical sense, but it's glaringly obvious you're not even up to that age maturity-wise."

"You know, you've got a point there", I grudgingly admitted.

So I went home, opened the sets up, and spent a good twenty minutes assembling both of them. Out of the pair my friend gave me, I'm definitely diggin' the mini AT-AT more. Not only does it bear a reasonably close resemblance to the real deal, it also sports some really goofy legs. Each limb is articulated in three places (at the "hip", and double-jointed upper & lower "knees"), and will stay in place when posed in a certain manner thanks to little ratchet thingies that mesh together when the leg pieces are clicked in place. Thanks to these joints, I can pose this little contraption of gray plastic bricks into the kinds of walking/running stances that would make the director of the Ministry of Silly Walks (anyone get this` reference? Um... hello...?) green with envy! I've even managed to get it to stand on its hind legs and "beg" like the family dog at the dinner table, or do the sleepwalk / zombie stance! Its neck also sports a ratchet-jointed connection point near the "shoulders". Sadly, the head can only move down and up, not side to side.

I'm also struck by how... *glurk*... CUTE... the thing looks. This mini walker looks more like some kinda mechanical puppy dog to me than a dreaded juggernaut of destruction and conquest. Speaking of puppies: if you own the large Lego AT-AT, you could buy a couple of these smaller ones, assemble them, place `em around the large one, and voila-- an AT-AT mommy and her young! Can't wait for Steve Irwin to do a special on THAT wildlife, heh...

Ooops, gotta cut this short-- the orderly's telling me it's time for me to take my "happy pills". But before I go, I highly recommend this particular mini Lego kit for any Star Wars fanboy who's too lazy to build and detail a proper model, and/or is strapped for space in the basement dwelling he's fashioned under his parents' house. So until next time...

5-0 out of 5 stars Gotta Have'm All!!!
Have you seen any of these? They must be the cutest of any Star Wars Lego ever made. And for something so small the details are great. The best part is that you do not need a lot of space to display many of them. The worst part is wishing to buy them all.

They are very simple to put together so for a child it would not be difficult. And they are fun to play with. (Warning: Very Small Parts)

For an adult, especially for a collector, this is a must buy. My cousin has a big display of these mini Lego and they look even cooler than my other cousins Limited Edition Star Wars Lego Collection; and that's saying a lot.

Lego toys are very, very durable (as long as you do not lose any parts), very educational and if you add fun you have a great toy.

If you are interested in playing with them or collecting them you will not regret purchasing this great item. ... Read more

A friend threw this and a mini At-AT Lego set at me as an early Christmas gift. After I gave `em a quick glance, I turned to him and asked, "What d'ya think I am, a freakin' ten-year-old?"

He replied, "Perhaps not in the physical sense, but it's glaringly obvious you're not even up to that age mentally or emotionally."

"You know, you've got a point there", I grudgingly admitted.

So I went home, opened the sets up, and spent a good twenty minutes assembling both of them. Although I liked the AT-AT kit more, this one ain't half-bad. It shares a reasonable resemblance to the real deal, though not quite as close I would have preferred. One thing I found kinda weird was that it sported a detailed top radar-dish-shaped piece complete with "seams" and "exhaust ports", as well as "escape pod door" end caps on the sides (see Amazon's photo of the product to see what I'm talking about)-- yet the cockpit piece had no windows. It's also kinda weird that this vessel has two "cannon barrels" atop the aforementioned top radar-dish piece (those antenna-like bits), but none on the bottom piece. Guess I'll just hafta borrow a couple antennae from my mini AT-AT to give this little freighter-fighter the proper look...

But in spite of its shortcomings, I found the Lego Millenium Falcon mini set a decent addition to my ultra-geekin' stash of Star Wars collectibles. I'd recommend it to any Star Wars fanboy who's too lazy to build and detail a proper model, and/or is strapped for space in the basement dwelling he's fashioned under his parents' house.
