Editorial Review

Girls just wanna have fun! This tiny pink bicycle is both fashionable and functional, equipped with everything a beginner would want or anticipate for the journey ahead. Besides being pink and tattooed with flowers from bumper to bumper, it comes with a list of great features. The 33-inch bike (20 inches high from ground to banana seat) includes: 12-inch diameter, inflatable, studded wheels; confidence-inspiring training wheels and foot brakes; easy-grip handle bars with wind-lovin' tassels; a modern backpack "stuff" carrier, instead of a wicker basket; a kitschy steel finger bell instead of a horn; and a portable radio inside the backpack as the "cool" feature. New riders will take pride in every wobble with a bike so well-equipped.--Diane Beall ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Magical playset - the best idea Barbie has created!
This set is really spectacular! Finally something truly different, and they have put so much magical fun into this pretty playset. It is one of my 6-yr-olds favorite gifts this year, and you really get a lot of play value for 30 bucks! The set is gorgeous, and the plastic is heavy not cheap flimsy stuff. For added value, the Polly Pockets play nicely in this set, too!

Like all Barbie items, it takes a LONG time to get it out of the box (have wire cutters, scissors, and patience handy!) Once it is out, assembly is pretty simple (a few easily placed stickers and a few pieces to snap on). It is worth the effort, there is so much to do with this set! Be careful with the 'flying' aspect though, we found that the little fairie and pixie dolls will fly right off unless you have a full-size Barbie flying along to slow down the spin! That is really the only negative we have found. I can't see much 'educational' value, like most Barbie items, unless you count the use of imagination! But Barbie isn't intended to be an educational toy. (Had to rate that aspect anyway, so gave a 3.)

I also HIGHLY recommend the Petal Fairies sets to go with this -- the flower seats are very well made and so beautiful! (The Polly Pockets also fit perfectly in those. My daughter uses her Mermaid Polly in a flower seat all of the time.) The Wonder Fairies (full-sized Barbies) are also gorgeous, with rooted eyelashes and pretty wings that flutter! My daughter thinks they are the prettiest of all of the Barbies. You can remove the wings and use them as regular Barbies, too.

We are really looking forward to seeing the DVD when it releases this spring! We recommend this entire Fairytopia toy line!

4-0 out of 5 stars I wish this was around when I was a kid!
Santa brought this to my 4 year old daughter and she loves it!She does not have any problems with it.She is able to place the fairies on the flying devise without any problems. She has played with this thing constantly since she has received it!

4-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful but difficult
It is rated for ages 3 and up but I would't get it for anyone under 6 because there are a lot of small pieces. It is also a major pain to put together.Once it's set up however, it is quite pretty and there are lots of activities to do with your faeries. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Tack

The tack which comes with this horse is also the best I have seen in Barbie toy horses. The bridle is plastic and fairly ordinary, but the reins are actual fabric- faux leather- which is a nice touch. The reins come tightly curled in a coil and tend to want to curl up but it is easy to fix this- just place them straightened underneath a heavy book for at least one day and they are fine. The saddle I love. It is a western saddle, ornately decorated and with great attention to detail. The saddle pad is a simple blue fabric square. The saddle bags are also nice. The pockets really open and have velcro to securely close them, and you can store the beads in them. They are also decorated with decorative stitching, again showing attention to detail. The blue blanket shown rolled up on the saddle bags is secured there by two pieces of elastic, and can be taken out and unrolled. It unrolls to be around the size of the saddle pad.

One more thing- the box this horse comes in is not shown in any of the Amazon pictures, but should be, as the inside part (the part which slides out) is made out of sturdy cardboard and is made to look like a stable. It has slatted gates for stable doors which swing open and closed, and the inside is designed to look like a stable, from the 'hay' on the floor to the photos 'stuck' to the walls. It also has a huge window thing at the back of the stable which is covered with a piece of translucent plastic, which shows a scene of the beach. It looks as if you are looking out of the stable onto a beach. It is really nice. It is not very deep, probably about 20 or so centimetres (8 inches), but has generous height and width.
This is a really cool toy and I really enjoy having it. Recommended!

If you love horses this is the toy for you. This horse toy is the best toy horse you could every buy! They can bend there legs and they even have Saddle Bags.

1-0 out of 5 stars oh boy

4-0 out of 5 stars I love tater head!
We all had one growing up, but it never had this many pieces! It is awesome!

5-0 out of 5 stars A true classic
I loved it as a kid, and now my two year old does too. He loves putting all the pieces on even if they're not in the right spot. He has two potato heads, so they're "friends". This is a great toy for toddlers, it keeps them busy and lets them be creative.

4-0 out of 5 stars Potato fun
I bought this toy for my 19 month old daughter. She loves putting the pieces in, taking them out and putting them in different locations. We have had this for a week and she still asks to play with it.

I had two small issues with this toy. Straight out of the box some of the slots are a little too tight for the pieces to fit easily. Once an adult fits the pieces in a couple of times the problem goes away. My other issue is the briefcase. It is hard to fit all the pieces back in again for storage. Also, the latch doesn't hold very well, and the case pops open when it shouldn't. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars SIMPSONS...OLD STYLE
This retro flashback simpson's Playset has been designed to look as the Simpson's did when they first premiered way back on the Tracy Ullman show in the 1980's.This was a time when the figures looked a bit cruder and less detailed. They talked a little slower and deeper (especially) Homer.

Here we have Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and little Maggie all standing in their living room.Unfortunately the environment is not compatible with other figures but that's a minor complaint as this set is more of a specialized item anyway. And hey...for the $10 bucks that Amazon is dropping it for you won't get a better deal.Well worth it.Great display piece.

5-0 out of 5 stars JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR
I was looking for a action figure set of the whole Simpsons Family: Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. Now, here are the pros and cons.

Pros:
Contain of whole Simpsons Family
Cheap Price(Bought here)
Fun

Cons:
Living Room NOT compatible with other characters.

5-0 out of 5 stars What's up you toy nerds?
The concept of collecting toys when you can afford a credit card is absurd, that is why I am a toy NERD. This particular flashback set has been out for a while,I'm glad it's cheaper in price cause it's getting ridiculous especially with the independent toy stores. So my review is this: it's good. I saw the picture and I know what I was getting. The delivery was quite efficient and speedy Gonzales. Last I'd like to add that I DO OPEN my toys, cause you only become obsessed with mint condition and never enjoy the essence of the collectables. Get a life me. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars the battle scene
I have learned a great deal from this toy set.The toy set is very durable and includes 4 of the most important characters from Episode I's final battle scene including:droid #3432, naboo warrior #12, a duck-billed beast of burden, and jar jar binks.

I play endlessly but get frustated when recreating the final battle scene when jar jar gets killed... I always seem to forget that Jar Jar actually survived the last scene and did not have his fate sealed in the orifice of a much larger creature.(beware of the choking warning on this toy) ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely lovely!
This doll has such a classic beauty about her. When I first saw pictures of her, she didn't seem like anything special, but seeing her in person changed my mind. She's just pure beauty. Her makeup is simple yet beautiful and I could imagine her dancing in aballet. Her dress is classic and elegant.I recommend this Barbie to anyone who wants a classy, beautiful doll!

5-0 out of 5 stars Truly Beautiful Collector Doll
Having been a Barbie Doll Collector for 10 years now, I cannot imagine anyone seeing this doll and not believing that finally Mattel has gone back to the roots of feminine beauty in its purest form. She doesn't have the glamour of Mackie's Goddess of the Arctic or the sexy Diva Collection.... but what this doll does have is a sense of innocence and a hauntingly angelic face. The photographs simply do not do her proper justice.I purchased 2 after I personally saw her: the face of an angel, the wonderfully feminine gown, and gorgeous deep brown hair make her worth purchasing ... As soon as she opened it the head fell off and the motorcycle had no handles on it.Even when we superglued the items back on other items fell off like her hair and also her clothes ripped. All of this happened and she only touched it once.I HAVE WARNED PARENTS NOT TO BUY THIS ITEM FOR THIER CHILDREN AND I SUGGEST THAT YOU DO THE SAME.
RIP OFF!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Barbie Batgirl is Toy Perfection!
This drool inducing Barbie doll is a must for Batgirl and Barbie collectors alike! Whether you're a fan of the newer, WB animated version of DC comics' hottest heroine (well, equal with Supergirl, anyway), or prefer the 1960's series Batgirl or Filmation's cartoon version, you'll find this doll a perfect blend of all three. With a retro box design and Bat-cycle, but featuring a lovely image of the WB animated Batgirl on the back, Barbie is every bit as lovely as wig adorned Yvonne Craig, or the most perfect live-action Batgirl to date, Birds of Prey's delectable Dina Meyer. Complete with yellow gloves, belt, and boots, sparkly black costume, blue cape and cowl, and glorious red hair, Barbie Batgirl prowls the night on her Bat-cycle with Batarang in hand.

Now, being a long time toy collector, I sometimes keep items in their packaging. Rarely, but sometimes. Barbie is one of those items with which I am more adamant about it. The temptation to open is strong, but I fight it off well most of the time. Maybe, someday, when I have more space and some display cases... But in the meantime, this doll makes a great display piece within the lovely box. Still, I hear she's also great for playtime, well made and more articulated than the usual Barbie doll, with a cycle that's equally fun. Barbie Batgirl is also available without the Toys R Us exclusive Cycle, but for the real fans, this is the only way to go! Now, I just hope I can get the Supergirl doll before they're all gone, along with Wonder Woman and the gorgeous new addition, Poison Ivy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Batgirl barbie is a great Investment
The Barbie as Batgirl w/MotorCycle is a beautiful rendition of a great Female Superhero. This Exclusive is an excellent investment for the Collector as well as a great play piece for the Barbie fan. What a great match this is, barbie & batgirl. It don't get no better than that. A+++ ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What A Great Idea!
A sleeping bag attached to a blow-up mattress - what a great idea! We bought this bed for our 4 yr old for traveling. It has been great. She finds it very comfortable and she absolutely loves sleeping in her very own "big kid" sleeping bag. She even insisted on sleeping in it on TOP of her bed the first night she had it.

We've taken this on numerous trips and it has been very durable (none of the deflation issues I've read about in other reviews). We also have an Aerobed, but she much prefers this small, cozy sleep-space. She HAS rolled off of it before, but has never flipped it over or anything like that. I figure she could just as easily roll off an Aerobed. The attached sleeping bag actually helps to keep her on top of it, I think.

This is a great sleeping bag and much more comfortable than a conventional sleeping bag because of the "ready bed" feature. I plan to buy another version of the ready-bed for my 2 1/2 yr old son for Christmas! I recommend this sleeping bag to anyone!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic travel bed/nap bed
We received this for my daughter's 3rd bday and she LOVES it--will only nap on this bed and its great for travelling and camping too. Its really easy to inflate/deflate, very quick with the manual pump (comes with it) and folds for storage into a neat little bag (comes with it).The sleeping bag comes off easily to wash, and the inside is like a big raft.It seems comfortable and has a built in pillow too.We have gotten a ton of use out of this, more so than any toy she would've received instead as a bday gift.

It was really frustating for me and my litle son. I bought it at amazon.com site. It took about 10 days to get in my house because I live outside US and when my son tried to play it was not working. What about the QC of this toy? is it a joke! As I live outside US I can't exchange it. But the worth is the frustation of my kid. This Mastecard can not afford!

Elmo may not be on the cutting edge of pop culture with this incarnation, but he still makes playtime fun. Instead of mimicking the latest hit, which always seems to drive kids wild, he sings and dances his own version of a 70s classic: "YMCA." It never dies, does it? The 13.5-inch Elmo sings out letters to a catchy rhythm while dancing what can only be described as pseudo-Egyptian. It's quite a feat, actually, to see what he does with his arms and legs: standing on one foot, bobbing his head, moving several limbs at once. His cute, familiar voice hasn't changed, either; kids can hear it with each press of his upheld hand. Required: 4 AA batteries.Diane Beall ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An above average toy from a picky mom
My daughter does not pay ANY attention to Elmo on television, she isn't yet (at one year old) watching Sesame Street. In stores, we have tried playing with her with the other Elmo dancing/moving plush toys out there and she has never paid too much attention- we just figured she doesn't like Elmo. Then for Christmas she got the Elmo learning table and played with it daily, along with the plush toy that comes with it. She still didn't seem too interested in Potty Elmo or Chicken Dance Elmo or some others, so we didn't think she'd be crazy about this one.

Wrong assumption! My daughter LOVES to dance and she dances along with this E-L-M-O. She'll crawl right up to him and sway and bounce to the music. She's still a bit young for this toy but yet she plays with it when we press his hand and get it started (she hasn't yet mastered the art of squeezing his hand to make him dance). This toy is not her favorite but is well made, Elmo dances without falling down, and my daughter does like this toy and will spend time throughout the day be-bopping along with it. I'd recommend it especially if your child is older and likes Elmo!

A friend's daughter is over 2 years old and likes Sesame Street and is scared of the toy when it moves so you never know....my 1 year old is fine with it, and not interested in Sesame Street on tv. Go figure.

And finally, my own opinion, this toy is just cute! And durable. I don't see where it's educational, just fun.

3-0 out of 5 stars Does ELMO really know how to spell??
The chear part of the ELMO dolls preformance sings E N M O instead of ELMO.Pretty sad expecially when your 20 month old is learning how to say his ABC'S Something should be done about this. The part when the doll makes the letters with his arms is really cute.

4-0 out of 5 stars Another Elmo Hit and Only Paid $7 at WALMART
I was going to purchase this for my soon to be 2 year old for Christmas but decided to wait.Every time we go to a toy store she would run right to ELMO and press his hand. She would even spell E-L-M-O at home everytime she saw a commercial or played with one of her other ELMO toys. She loved it, but I hated to spend (...) on yet another ELMO toy.Well I just purchased it for (...) on clearance at WALMART.She hasn't stopped playing with it and dances right along with him.It is very cute (a little annoying after a while for Mom and Dad).Well worth it for a bargain price of (...). ... Little conductors will have loads of fun with this high-quality figure-eight railroad set from Thomas & Friends. Made of wood, the track features an elevated bridge in the center and a water tower where Thomas can re-fuel; the "water" rises and falls with flicks of the spout. Sir Topham Hatt and a red cargo car keep Thomas company. Other items in the 25-piece set include a railroad-crossing sign, a stop sign, and a tree. The instructions clearly diagram how to assemble the track. The box has a handle and makes a good carrying case. --Andy Boynton ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great value for a great set!
We gave this to our 4 yr old son for his birthday. When he opened it - he yelled out "Cool!".I don't think there could be any higher praise from a 4 yr old.

He had wanted the water tower, but since it retailed for $25 alone - I felt it was definitely worth it to spend $15 more and get the whole set!

Thomas products from learning curve are excellent quality and will provide years of enjoyment for your little engineer!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic value and wonderfully entertaining
This is by far the best deal I've seen on a Thomas set. The water tower retails alone for $24.00 and the bridge for $18! My son is absolutely wild about Thomas and the water tower and bridge are the two things he plays with the most. I am thrilled that they have combined them into a set along with track, and plan to give this as a gift to my nephew.

The water tower contains liquid that appears to "drain" when you lower the spout (this alone is worth hours of entertainment for a toddler). The bridge has 3 parts and is very easy for young hands to assemble. It's reasonably stable, although the top piece is not held in place with anything other than gravity and can be knocked over accidentally. There is plenty of room underneath for trains and track. Some cheaper sets have bridges that are so low that the trains don't fit underneath.

Thomas brand track is excellent quality and features indented "ties," unlike less expensive versions. However, it's fully compatible with Brio, Imaginarium, and several generic brands on the market. This set also includes a Thomas train and cargo car to start your Thomas collection (Watch out! It's addicting). These would retail for about $10 apiece if you bought them separately. If your child already has a Thomas train, don't worry. To a 2 or 3 year old, two identical trains are more fun than one.

A simple figure-8 track layout is best for young children who are being introduced to wooden train sets for the first time. You can also rearrange the pieces to make a loop or simple circle. I highly recommend this set as a first train set for any boy or girl age 2 and up! A great companion is Thomas Wacky Track, which allows for a wider range of curve diameters, and reduces the frustration level of beginning engineers. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars One Of My All Time Top Favorites.
My husband purchased this doll for me for Christmas. He is a real stunner. They did a great job making him look just like the character in the movies. He is one of the few I display out in my living room. This is one I will keep forever.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow.
I received Ken as Legolas for Christmas after I (on a whim) placed it on my Wish List.I have the first two Toy Biz action figures (blah, but cool) still in their boxes, but I never found the third so this was my "replacement" for not having the full three movie set. When I first saw it, I was floored. It's very well crafted, yet they could have spared a little of Ken's looks for some real authenticity from the movie.Despite that, the doll is amazing.I only removed him once to examine him closely and was amazed. The stand, for those who don't know, is behind the packaging slip (background) behind him. It's really cheesy from the looks of it (I didn't open it enough to find out.)The box is a much better display case for him.You can't complain; it's worth the money especially for a fan.

2-0 out of 5 stars I just don't know dude...
... Barbie must be horribly lonely in her dream mansion with Ken running around in the woods like this. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Let me help you with some INFORMATION...
My 3- and 5-year-old daughters have such fun practicing kindness and family life with this house and I haven't even put the batteries in it yet! Even their 7-year-old brother plays along with them! The "Uptown Dollhouse" is too urban and not meant for a family. HERE ARE SOME THINGS I WISH I WOULD HAVE KNOWN WHEN SHOPPING: At our local Toys R Us, this COMES TWO WAYS, with two prices. You either got 3 toddlers or paid $10 more for a Dad, Mom, Toddler girl and baby girl instead. You could see the dolls through a window in the box. It is so worth it to get the family! You can pay $10 just for Alan (who comes with a stroller with little Ryan), but they were not in stock online and rarely found in a store. Otherwise, you have to get a groom or a Cali guy, neither of which are dressed like a dad. I couldn't find men's clothes in the store either. Also, the BED is big enough for Dad and Mom. It just looks small on the picture. COMMENTS TO THE MANUFACTURER: All the TINY PIECES are thoughtful, but overwhelming. And with one bump, you're setting the table...again! Try placemats that have a plate and utensils printed on them. Then the child can still feel she's "setting the table". That should cut your (and our) costs! Plus, the plates continually fall out of their slots above the sink. The baby does NOT FIT into the bassinett, her diapers do NOT FIT her and the food pictures do NOT FIT snugly into the fridge - they continually fall out. Yes, the house does fall over easily. We could set it next to a wall, but then they can't play in its back yard. Other than those details which should be easy to rectify, I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS HOUSE!! It folds up so smart, too! There's so much to do! Thanks!

4-0 out of 5 stars for girls 4 1/2 to 8 1/2
MY DAUGHTER LOVES THIS DOLLHOUSE. SHE WROTE AN REPORT FOR SCHOOL AND TOLD HOW THE DOLLHOUSE GAVE HER AN INSIGHT TO FAMILY LIFE. EVEN THOUGH THE HOUSE MAY FALL WHEN ITS NOT SET UP RIGHT. SHE AND HER BROTHER WHOS FIVE LIKES TO PLAY WITH HER AS THE OLDER BROTHER AND KIDS WHEN THEY PLAY TOGETHER. THIS TOY DOES MORE FOR LEARNING THAN VIDEO GAMES.EVEN THEIR COUSINS 12 AND 13 PLAY WITH THE DOLLS AND THE HOUSE. THIS IS TRULY AND HANDS ON GAME TO THE WORLD OF PRETEND.

Editorial Review

Thomas the Tank is the signature bright-blue engine in the Thomas the Tank series. He does light yard work and pulls small passenger cars, such as Annie and Clarabel. Based on the award-winning television series Shining Time Station by the Reverend W. Awdry, the Thomas the Tank train system fulfills all of a child's choo-choo dreams. Each vehicle has a different name, character, and face. It is wooden and 2 inches high with black plastic wheels. The magnetic bumpers at the ends of each vehicle make linkup easy. Children will become friends with each one, developing not only imaginative play but social skills and new motor and cognitive skills as they mature. --Sandy Hirsch ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars don't buy thomas the train...unless
thomas the train is the first in thousands of dollars worth of great toys for a child.the only problem is if you buy this train...it starts a fascination not only with your children, but with you as well.my wife and I found ourselves searching out different thomas the train characters and have now spent about a thousand dollars on trains and accessories... it starts with this one blue little train and after a while you have invested a fortune... be warned don't start the addiction!

5-0 out of 5 stars Durable classic
Thomas the Tank Engine IS my young son's favorite toy. Actually Thomas is just the beginning. When you start adding on other vehicles and buildings, you'll soon have a little railroad empire going. The price is up there a bit, but when a kid loves it like mine does, in the long run it is worth it. We got Thomas for him when he was two. He is now four and still going strong. Thomas will be a keepsake for our child's heritage book long after he has outgrown it.

5-0 out of 5 stars The one and only Thomas the Tank Engine
Thomas is great and it's so fun to pull him along the track woth Annie and Clarabel. When I make the big setes In set aside a branch line for Thomas, Percy, and sometimes Lady. Thomas is great but in order to get the experience you need Annie and Clarabel. ... Read more
