3-0 out of 5 stars okay
though she is very pretty and her dress is made out of nice fabric i think her dress is very plain. no wonderful designs some of the other dolls had like, the ancient greece one or the irland one. she just seems kind of plain, and her eyes seem to dazed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Barbie Fan - England owner
This Barbie is very well made.I do have a few complaints. The dress is sewn on which means that it can't be changed unless you cut the threads holding the back together. If there is a seamstress in your family, this is fine to do since the back is hemmed, meaning that snaps or hooks and eyes can be sewn on.My other complaint is that her arms are bent at an almost 90 degree angle, permanently.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite Princesses
The Dolls of the World: Princess of England is by far one of my favorite princesses. Her costume is exquisite and her hair and makeup are gorgeous as well. Of course the quality of this doll is the same as the other dolls in the series. I just happen to think that the costume and hair combinations that were chosen turned out well on this doll. ... Editorial Review

Featuring a new adventure that's filled with numerous enhancements andinnovations, this long-awaited sequel to Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow greatly improves upon the series' winning formula, and makesfor an even more insanely addictive and wholly absorbing gaming experience.

Like Pokémon Gold--which essentially is the same story, with minorgameplay variations--Pokémon Silver casts players in the familiarrole of a young Pokémon Trainer who's out to collect as many differentkinds of Pokémon as possible. As in previous games, gameplay consistsmostly of exploration (completing various quests in the process) andPokémon battles, which employ a unique battle system that's like acomplex twist on rock-paper-scissors.

But, despite the similarities, it's quite apparent that PokémonSilver is a whole new ball game from the start. The game is played out inreal time, with the current time and day of the week (recorded by an internalclock) having a direct impact on gameplay elements, such as what Pokémonyou'll find in the wild, and when certain events occur and characters appear.

While there are too many new and improved features in PokémonSilver to list here, among the highlights are 100 new Pokémon(including two new types), new evolution processes (including breeding), and amore streamlined game interface that has better-organized menus and buttonshortcuts.

Although it's easier to progress in Pokémon Silver than in theprevious games, the sheer amount of fun and game time that's involved isdaunting. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better value than this one. --JoeHon

Pros:

  • Insanely addictive and wholly absorbing gaming experience
  • Time and day of week impact gameplay directly
  • Bevy of new features and hidden secrets
  • Improved graphics and more streamlined game interface
Cons:
  • Minor compatibility issues when using Game Link with previous versions

You dont need a dragon pokemon for the 8th badge. When you beat clair, she asks you to get the dragon fang, located in the dragon cave above the gym. you need surf and whirlpool to get to it. upon grabbing it, she will give you the badge. If you want a dragon pokemon, you can either fish for it in that same cave (use super rod) or buy it from game corner like i did early on.You get a dragonite by evolving dragonair at level 50 i think, but its not worth it, it just learns the same moves and gains more weaknesses. To beat the guy in radio tower, i assume you mean the fake director, just use strong pokemon. you see lance again as the champion when you defeat the elite four. beat him and you end the game and enter the hall of fame. You mean the waterfall? easy use the hm move waterfall on it and youll climb it. If you mean Lt.Surge in vermillion city, after beating the elite four, go to professor elm after he calls youand get ss ticket, then use it to sail to kanto from olivine city. then once there use cut on the bush next to the gym and enter to fight him.7 badges is good, but try and get all 8 then beat the game and continue to kanto. This is true, but it takes days to train a pokemon that much, and by lv.50 you have to be battling the elite 4's pokemon or it will gain 1 level every couple days because it isnt getting enough exp. If your pokemon are this low by now use the duplicate cheat explained later on. Having the bike is good, but by then you should have every hm, but shouldnt be able to use waterfall until beating the 8th gym.You can win without a dragon pokemon, their just more effective. Try using gyrados's dragon rage. itll help. You dont actully need one. Clefairy can, but dont use them up. You only get a few.OK. To duplicate have the item you want to duplicate held by a pokemon, which will also get duplicated.go to any pokemon center, walk to in front of the pc, save, go to bills pc and deposit that pokemon then change the box, except when it gets to the screen saying SAVING... DONT TURN OFF. turn off the power. turn it back on and you should have the pokemon in your party and the box. Its been duplicated. If you have further questions, e-mail taylorsteele@shaw.ca. your welcome.

5-0 out of 5 stars Realistic and Really Cool
This horse is the best toy horse I have seen to date. It is fully articulated, with joints at the base of the neck, the head, knees and hocks, and at the top of each leg. The overall shape of this horse is really nice, and the colour is also very pretty. It looks better in real life than it does in a box or in a photo.
One of the best features about this toy horse is the mane and tail. Both are crimped and sunstreaked with copper, and the texture is unlike any Barbie hair I have felt before. The hair is fine and silky. The mane is also very long. The beads are as shown in the second Amazon photo of this horse, and they slide nicely onto the mane and tail with the simple-to-use 'beading wand' included, although it can be a bit tricky sometimes with a thick piece of mane or tail. It also comes with 10 small rubber stoppers to place underneath a bead to prevent it from sliding off.
The tack which comes with this horse is also the best I have seen in Barbie toy horses. The bridle is plastic and fairly ordinary, but the reins are actual fabric- faux leather- which is a nice touch. The reins come tightly curled in a coil and tend to want to curl up but it is easy to fix this- just place them straightened underneath a heavy book for at least one day and they are fine. The saddle I love. It is a western saddle, ornately decorated and with great attention to detail. The saddle pad is a simple blue fabric square. The saddle bags are also nice. The pockets really open and have velcro to securely close them, and you can store the beads in them. They are also decorated with decorative stitching, again showing attention to detail. The blue blanket shown rolled up on the saddle bags is secured there by two pieces of elastic, and can be taken out and unrolled. It unrolls to be around the size of the saddle pad.
All in all, this is a great toy. I would highly recommend it for any horse enthusiast who also likes Barbies and toy horses. The horse is a good size for Barbie dolls to ride it, as long as they have flexible hip joints and preferably jointed knees as well, as the California Girl horse-riding dolls Summer, Barbie and Lea do.
One more thing- the box this horse comes in is not shown in any of the Amazon pictures, but should be, as the inside part (the part which slides out) is made out of sturdy cardboard and is made to look like a stable. It has slatted gates for stable doors which swing open and closed, and the inside is designed to look like a stable, from the 'hay' on the floor to the photos 'stuck' to the walls. It also has a huge window thing at the back of the stable which is covered with a piece of translucent plastic, which shows a scene of the beach. It looks as if you are looking out of the stable onto a beach. It is really nice. It is not very deep, probably about 20 or so centimetres (8 inches), but has generous height and width.
This is a really cool toy and I really enjoy having it. Recommended! ... Read more

This is not one of those el cheapo plastic Transformers; it’s high quality, metal, and collectible, with superb details and sturdy construction. Even old people (such as this reviewer) who aren’t exactly big Transformers fans can’t help but marvel at the ingenious design that allows a sleek sports car to become, with the right sequence of folds and flips, a ferocious towering robot. And if you can’t figure out exactly how to achieve the transformation, you’re not alone; but don’t worry--just ask your nearest eight-year old for help. Includes decals and weapons.--David Stoesz ... 4-0 out of 5 stars The downfall of G1 reissues
I'm actually sorry to see the current prices of the G1 reissues, not only on Amazon, but also on the Toys R Us stores, because this probably means the END of the american G1 reissues, it's been a while since they released anything new, and so far no news about new releases, so, this is the end, I'm writing this on the Silverstreak post because not only it's one of my favorite Transformers, but because it was the FIRST one I got, as a christmas present, almost 20 years ago, I remember how amazed I was by just looking at the package, and even more when I got it out, simply amazing, even to this day I still am, the G1 line was and it's still great, it's a shame it wasn't very appreciated in the last few years and it's second run ended fast, so don't give it a second thought, get this guys while they last, don't wait for another 20 years.

3-0 out of 5 stars Autobots, transform and roll out!
I am so glad that TRU decided to re-release these classic transformers from back in my grade school days. These toys are still the best Transformers ever!

This Silverstreak re-issue is almost exactly like the original. There are some differences, though.Silversteak's gun is now black, not silver like the original, and the missles do not fire at all (the firing button on the launchers are removed altogether). And let's not forget the name change (originally he was Bluestreak).

I am also a little disappointed by the quality of the re-issue.I compared this Silverstreak to an original Smokescreen I had since '85.For those that don't know, Silverstreak and Smokescreen are exactly the same, just different color scheme. The materials of the re-issue, though still die-cast, feels cheaper, and the workmanship feels coarse and shoddy. These new toys just don't seem to transform as smoothly. Some joints are too tight, while other joints are too loose. The re-issues are made in China, and it just does not live up to the high standards set by the Japanese originals.

If you are a bored 31yrd like me who wants to recapture a bit of child hood memories, this is the toy for you.You are getting a decent re-issue at a reasonable price. But if you are shopping for a kid who has never seen these, you're probably better off buying one of the more current Transformer lines. The classics are more expensive, smaller in size, and more fragile.Only buy for people who will appreciate them.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite G1 cars.
I remember having my original Silverstreak as a kid. I also remember breaking him trying to transform him. I tried to twist the legs around, forgetting to move the crotch part up to allow this move and broke him in half!

Now I have two Silverstreaks. One opened and one still in the box. I think out of all the G1 cars that were alike (Smokescreen, Prowl and Silverstreak) Silverstreak stands out as the best looking in both car and robot mode. The silver is so sleak and awesome looking. I highly recommend buying it (...). I doubt there are any prices lower then this online. Shop til you drop! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Sequel to Hey You Pikachu
Hello people. I got this game for my birthday and I love it! It's simalar to Hey You Pikachu, which was crap compared to this. What I really like is the Pichu Brothers movie. Just in case you unobservant people havn't noticed, the CGI scene in the Pichu Brothers movie is different every time you watch it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very cute GameCube replacement for Stadium minigames
Way back in the days of Red, Blue, and Yellow, a game was released called Pokemon Stadium. It featured tough strategic battles, cute minigames, and useful utilities like Pokemon storage, item storage, and a Pokedex. It was useful and entertaining and remains one of my favorite N64 games.

Later, Nintendo released a similar game called Stadium 2, which was identical to the first but with small adjustments to the unlockable features and battle moe, and including better graphics, new games, and compatibility with Gold, Silver, and Crystal Pokemon. This also was fun and useful.

However, with the release of Ruby and Sapphire, Nintendo actually split the expected Stadium-style games into three: Colosseum (which included battle mode and a new RPG mode), Box (which was purely a storage utility), and Channel (dealing with the mini-game side of things). Box looks like a useful utility, and Colosseum is wonderful, but Channel is a fun mixture between the classic Stadium and Stadium 2 minigames as well as the old game "Hey You Pikachu." In it, you befriend a wild Pikachu which is interested in your new TV (haha). You watch new shows every day, which include Psyduck's news, Squirtle's shopping channel, and Wobbuffet's quiz show. Each day you get new shows. The best part about this game is definately the availability of a special Pokemon episode featuring Meowth and the Pichu Brothers, who first appeared in the 3rd Mini-Movie "Pikachu and Pichu." This show comes in five parts, and you must search for the fifth along with Pikachu.

Though the addition of the animated episode was a wonderful touch, the interaction with Pikachu was not as good as the old game Hey You Pikachu, mostly because of the lack of microphone and the focus being taken off you befriending Pikachu. Also, the mini-games were not as entertaining as the Stadium and Stadium 2 games were. Mostly because of the cute episode, though, I give this game 4/5. ... Read more

  • 'I Love Lucy®' is one of the world's very favorite television shows. Since its inception in October of 1951, Lucy Ricardo - along with her husband Ricky Ricardo and neighbors Fred and Ethel Mertz - is an unforgettable character, always funny and unique. Classic, timeless, and eternally hilarious, 'I Love Lucy®' remains a benchmark of comedy.
  • One iconic Lucy costume is her navy and white polka dot dress with white apron. Although seen in many episodes, it is perhaps most memorable in 'Sales Resistance'. Originally broadcast on January 26, 1953, 'Sales Resistance' begins with Fred and Ethel around the piano as Ricky records a song he wrote for Lucy, who is in the hospital after having a baby.
  • In fact, Lucy bought the new tape recorder from the woman in the next bed. This story causes the triou at home to reminisce about their sales experiences. Lucy is in her kitchen, showing Ethel the 'Handy Dandy Kitchen Helper' she had ordered from TV.
  • When Ricky discovers yet another frivolous purchase, he demands that Lucy return it to the company. Lucy tells Ricky how difficult it is for her to resist a salesman, but Ricky insists. When the salesman comes that afternoon, he happily takes back the kitchen gadget, but bamboozles Lucy into buying a 'Handy Dandy' vacuum cleaner.
  • Again Ricky insists that Lucy return this new acquisition, but she knows that the salesman can sell her anything. Ricky finally agrees to return it himself. To avoid another sales pitch, Lucy takes off for the movies with Ethel.

5-0 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE for Lucy Collectors
An incredible likeness to everyone's favorite redhead, this Barbie is perfect for the I LOVE LUCY collector and fan. The episode was hilarious, with Lucy buying a vacuum cleaner, Fred buying a washing machine, and Ricky a fridge! The laughs were non-stop as one fumbling mishap after another keeps the Ricardo's and Mertz's bickering the entire time. Lucy wears this pretty polka dot house dress and the details of hairdo, backdrop of the apartment and even her facial expression are wonderfully accurate.Treat yourself to this one of a kind collectible. The first dolls in this limited edition series are long gone and hard to find -- don't let this one get away!

5-0 out of 5 stars "Peels and slices, cuts and dices..."
I absolutely love "I Love Lucy" and have eagerly collected each of the Barbie dolls issued by Mattel in the Lucy series. This one is exceptionally nice as it features Lucy Ricardo dressed as she was in so many episodes, as a typical New York housewife. She is wearing her navy dress with white polka dots and a white apron with red rick rack trim.

Of course, this is the classic episode in which Lucy purchases the worthless Handy Dandy Kitchen Helper, prompting Ricky to accuse her of having no sales resistance. To her credit, Lucy does attempt to return the worthless item but the salesman is just too persuasive and ends up selling her a more expensive vacuum cleaner instead. In one very funny scene, Lucy goes door-to-door in an attempt to sell the vacuum to some other gullible housewife. Unfortunately she has no luck. She returns to the apartment exhausted and minus one shoe and tells Ricky that a few hours more and someone would have reported the death of another salesman. Lucy then leaves it up to Ricky to deal with returning the vacuum cleaner to the salesman and he soon discovers that he, too, is "putty" in this man's hands. :)

The photo/tableau in the box is taken from the living room of the Ricardo's apartment. Lucy is standing with the fireplace to one side ( with the Kitchen Helper sitting atop the mantel) and the vacuum cleaner on the other. A very, very nice addition to the series!

Dora the Explorer would never think of setting out on an expedition without her trusty backpack, and chances are that any kid who gets hold of this hard-plastic backpack will feel the same. It features the same cheerful expression and, at the press of a button, it says one of four different upbeat lines or sings the "Backpack Song," which chances are your child already knows by heart. The sound is awfully loud, so parents may wish to have an artfully arranged piece of tape ready for muting purposes. Rounding out the ensemble are Dora-themed bracelet, camera, magnifying glass, and binoculars. While none of these accessories actually work, like the backpack in which they all fit, they're quite charming. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun, but definitely not perfect.
I bought this for my two year old daughter last weekend. She is a huge Dora fan and she was very excited about it. She plays with it a lot, but she can't get the binoculars, etc. out of the backpack without my help. The bracelet also doesn't stay on her wrist very well. I don't really understand why they didn't put straps on the backpack either, but my daughter really doesn't seem to mind. Overall she really seems to be enjoying the toy, but it could have been designed better.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not worth it!
I purchased this toy for my 2 year old.The box says 2+ for age recommendation. She loves Dora and was quite excited until she was unable to place the pieces in the backpack easily and she could not manage to get them out without help. She immediatley wanted to put it on her back and wear it but there are no straps.Overall, this toy is a bust and will be returned.

"Rut-roh!" There's nothing more frightening to Scooby-Doo than losing his munchies. Kids can help him and his human companions figure out a culinary mystery using LeapPad's multisensory, experiential learning interface. In Scooby-Doo and the Disappearing Donuts, kids see, hear, say, and touch throughout the book, making it easier to retain and enhance oral, vocabulary, and phonics skills while developing concrete reading-comprehension skills.

It's simple to use (just insert the cartridge and book into a LeapPad, and use the attached stylus to hear information), but this system is an innovative technology that provides entertaining, effective learning, designed by a Stanford-trained reading expert. As well, the system has been credited with the TMA's Educational Toy of the Year and People's Choice awards.

Two notes: Make sure the LeapPad book you get is appropriate for the child's educational level; this one should be a challenge for kids up to age 6. As well, know that some LeapBooks work on both LeapPad and LeapPad Pro, like this one, but some books only work with one system. --Diane Beall ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars love that leap pad
Alex got this for his birthday and it was the ONLY thing he wanted to pay with for the rest of the day!

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun..
My 2 kids love just about every LeapFrog book that we've purchased. This particular Scooby Doo story is a lot of fun and the games that are included in the book keep the kids attention.

I give 3 stars for durability, as I will for all Leap Books, only because the book does not provide storage for the cartridge. It sure would be nice if the books had small plastic sleeves for the related cartridge. We have a number of books and keeping the books and cartridges together are a little tough. The chances of losing the small cartridges will keep my durability rating lower than 5.

Also, the 3 stars for durability is related to a design "flaw". The wire from the pen and the bottom of the book are constant fighting for space. To turn the page, without possibly bending the page, requires you to hold the wire down so it doesn't interfere with the page. Easy enough for an adult to do, however my 5 year old doesn't remember to hold the wire down all the time. 50% of all of our pages have creases in the bottom of the pages...all in the same spot!

4-0 out of 5 stars Copper30
My 3 year old daughter wanted these skates to take to the beach this spring so I bought them for her.She absolutely loves them. What is suprising is how well she does in them. She has a pair of the Barbie First Skates and wanted something different. If the child knows how to skate somewhat well these will do okay. These skates are not for a beginner skater as the wheels roll in both directions.I suggest that the parent not buy these if the child doesn't already know how to skate.

3-0 out of 5 stars I just noticed
I was looking for some skates for my three year old son. He always wants to put mine on and I want to get him a pair that fits him. Why is there only girl orientated skates? Where are the little boy styles? I don't think I'll bother with the store if they're not even on the website. Do you know what I mean?

I rated everything a three because I do not own these, my son has not tried them, and I have to rate them in order to comment. They may in fact be better than a three star rating.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed

My daughter absolutely loves her new Hello Kitty tv - I purchased it to match a pink and green decor in her room. 5-0 out of 5 stars Emily the old-fashioned engine
If your child enjoys acting out the Thomas & Friends series, then they should know that Emily is one of the friendlier engines. She is an old-fashioned engine, with large inner wheels. She is the first female steam engine, apart from Lady, who only appeared in the Thomas & The Magic Railroad movie. She was given 2 green coaches after saving Oliver and Toad when they were stuck on the tracks. Before she had her coaches, she borrowed Annie and Clarabelle from Thomas, which made all the other engines sad.

Emily was just released last year in "Emily's New Coaches" and already, she has a major role, mainly because Thomas & Friends doesn't show female engines very often. I have recommended that Learning Curve sells Emily's coaches, because I don't think Thomas will approve of Emily always taking Annie & Clarabelle!

3-0 out of 5 stars New Trains Have Smaller Wheel Base

1-0 out of 5 stars Sing With Me, NOT
Very cute toy, if it worked. The cd player would not play a cd on the first one I bought and the same thing when I exchanged it for a new one. Finally, I got my money back.Very dissapointed.

1-0 out of 5 stars flimsy and too loud
We got this for our 4 year old. Right away, certain CD's wouldn't spin up in the player. Even though there is a separate volume control for the 2 mics and the music, if you turn the mic volume all the way down you still can't hear the music through the vocals. The speakers are lousy, but that might be expected on what is essentially a toy. Don't expect anywhere near decent boom-box speaker quality. The whole thing rattles with the vocals. There is an echo effect that you can control the delay on, so you get this long echo or a shorter one just to enhance the vocals. That's about the only cool part. Also, it doesn't come with a power cord, so batteries only unless you pay extra for the cord.We ended up returning the thing to the store very disappointed.Even if the spin-up problem turned out to be a glitch, we were so unimpressed with it in general that we didn't want a replacement. ... Editorial Review

Good is always balanced with evil, and in the case of the movieThomas and the Magic Railroad, Diesel 10 is a truly icky badguy. Teamed with sidekicks Splatter and Dodge, Diesel 10 is a renegadeengine on the Island of Sodor out to destroy the harmony of Sir TophamHatt's Railway. To intensify this train's nastiness, Diesel 10--on ascale of 1 to 10--is rated 10 for devious deeds and brutal strength.Measuring 4.25 inches long, Diesel 10 has two sets of wheels thatswivel, helping this extra-long train negotiate the tracks. Equippedwith a mischievous expression, Diesel 10 is pea green and--just like inthe movie--has a claw-like arm on top to help create havoc. As with allThomas the Tank Engine Learning Curve products, Diesel 10 is made ofhard maple and has two magnets on each end to allow your child toexpand their set. --Diane Tuman ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The infamous Diesel #10
Thomas fans who have seen Thomas and the Magic Railroad probably are familiar with Diesel #10. For those who haven't seen the movie, Diesel #10 is an evil diesel who hates steam engines and wants to find the lost steam engine so he can put an end to all the other steam engines. Little kids will have a great time making up their own adventures or creating the original movie plot with this toy. I would highly suggest this toy for little Thomas fans.

4-0 out of 5 stars I've Got To Agree On the Claw
We also have a Thomas fanatic in our home and while we've been watching all the video/dvd's for months, I held out on the movie because someone told me it was terrible. (PS: It's pretty terrible, but your Thomas fan will love it so be prepared to watch it 100's of times ughh).Where was I, oh yeah...my son LOVES the Thomas movie and LOVES Diesel and Lady so I ordered both for his birthday. He was so excited when he opened his present and realized it was Diesel, however that quickly turned to concern when the first thing out of his mouth was "Mom, he's broken, the claw doesn't bite or move up and down".

I don't know why LC designed Diesel this way since the fact that Diesel's claw can move up and down and bite is such a HUGE part of the Thomas movie.Regardless my son took him quickly to the Island of Sodor (his train table) and played with him for the rest of the night. He wouldn't trade Diesel in for anything, but Diesel won't get 5 stars because I think his designer made a boo-boo by not making him more true to his character in the movie.

Diesel (and Lady) is still an important edition to your train set though if your little one is a fan of the Thomas movie.

5-0 out of 5 stars Diesel's Claw is pretty cool
Diesel 10 was introduced in Thomas and the Magic Railroad and his claw goes backwards and fowards. It's fun to have him chase Thomas and Lady along the Track. He can also pull coaches and cars. He is good with Splatter, Dodge, and Lady. All the Thomas trains are very durable and they work perfectly. ... Read more
