Action Man is a unique line of bendable figures that emphasizesJames Bond-style adventure rather than, say, military duty. This 12-inch Climber Extreme figure is a scar-faced, bare-chested dude inpurple shorts, who looks fully ready to scale the walls of the GrandCanyon in the dead heat of summer. Of course, he probably has to keepthe villain, Dr. X, from flooding the canyon, which is why he carries agun holster and ammo belt over his shoulder. It's easy to imagineaction scenarios involving desperate escapes, or scaling the backsidesof sofas and leaping off the edge of countertop cliffs in hot pursuitof the evil Dr. X. The set comes with suction disks for climbing, removable sunglasses, shorts, ammo belt, revolver, and climbing boots.Action Man's limbs have numerous rotating and bending joints, makinghim easy to pose in daring positions. --Gail Hudson

The Spirit of Adventure
Well, Adventure Team, that is.Action Man is a great toyline from Hasbro, using the classic style twelve inch Joe bodies, and more extreme sports / martial arts / espionage themed accessories. The result is a less violent (Note: LESS violent, not NON violent) alternative to the Joes' military theme. It's similar in concept to the Adventure Team figures of the 70s, when opinions of the military were soured by the Vietnam War, and GI Joe adopted the more civilian themed accessories. If you'd like to introduce your child to the world of international intrigue, adventure, and espionage of the GI Joe Adventure Team, but with a more modern feel than Hasbro's AT re-issues, I highly recommend Action Man!
You'll love it!

Action Man needs a woman's touch
Action Man is very durable and bends in a million directions. He's a fun toy and hangs nicely from the windows with his suction-cup clasp. However, he's a little grizzly... He sports a tattoo, scar, and a handgun -- which make him a great role model for aspiring criminals. I gave him a small makeover by throwing away the gun and holster before my son ever saw them and replacing them with the backpack and nerdy glasses from my daughter's "Cool School" Ken. Ken, in turn, received Action Man's evil glasses. This accessory switch helped improve Ken's image, and Action Man has been humbled -- a good thing for both of them!
