Editorial Review

Even though Barbie would never let Ken wear an orange neck kerchief, it’s not hard to pass him off as "Fred," hippy leader of the Scooby Doo gang. Fred and Ken actually have a lot in common: Note the blond hair, broad shoulders, sparkling blue eyes, and Colgate smile. Physical likenesses aside, however, these two dudes have definite philosophical differences: Ken drives a gas-guzzling Corvette as a status symbol, for example, and Fred drives a gas-guzzling VW van as a peace symbol. But to make Ken into a completely believable Fred, he is accompanied by a velveteen version of Scooby-Doo, complete with a tiny box of Scooby Snacks.--Diane Beall ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Best doll in my collection so far
As a collector of 32-inch walking dolls, I couldn't resist buying the My Size Barbie of Swan Lake. She is a whopping 38 inches in height and is made prettier and more durable than my walking dolls. The hair is weaved generously, not sparsely like my other dolls. As for the outfit that Barbie of Swan Lake came in, I never keep doll clothes anyway. I bought a cute pair of jeans and a T-shirt for infants 0 to 3 months old and shoes with socks for newborns. All fit Barbie perfectly and look darling as well. The jeans are long shorts or capris on her!

4-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful doll BUT mattel could of done better
The doll is beautiful but the price is overrated. Her outfit is done well. Her face is just generation girl Lara's face painted over brown with a change in makeup. And two pigtails.Come on Mattel. The Princess of the Incas doll was 20 X better than this one and for a fraction of the price.Plus her face mold was much better. I would get her on sale if possible.

5-0 out of 5 stars Authentic Native American
I love the entire Spirit series from barbie. This doll is my favorite from the collection. She captures the essence of native americans who are a little more brown in complextion. Her outfit is beautiful and just a great doll over all. For the barbie collector!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fashion diva becomes a Grecian goddess
This is one of the best dolls in this excellent series. With her upswept hair, vampish eye makeup and draped gown she is one of the most glamorous Barbies to come out recently. The back of the box shows a prototype doll using a standard Barbie head sculpt, fortunately this doll was actually produced using the Lea/Kayla head sculpt which is clearly a better choice. The only fault I can find with this doll is the fact that her dress is sewn on so if you plan on redressing her you will have to carefully undo the stitching, this doesn't ruin the dress but is a nuicance considering that it could have easily been made with snaps. Other than my one objection, and if you plan on leaving her as is this won't be a problem, I do think this doll is an outstanding value.

4-0 out of 5 stars Princess of Ancient Greece Barbie
Overall, I have to say that the Princess of Ancient Greece is a lovely doll. I like her costume because it looks authentic. I do not like her hair because it looks as though her hair was cut to achieve her updo, which gives it a bit of a rough appearance. I would recommend this doll if you are interested in Ancient Greece, the Dolls of the World collection, or collectable Barbies.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great face
Sort of semi-ethnic face sculpt with fair/olive skin = very interesting combination. Her lipstick isn't the awful pink or even the cherry-red. It's a beige-ish color that people actually wear. Her gown, which can be removed (with difficulty) is gorgeous and looks stunning on dark-skinned dolls.

I redressed her in a modern Greek costume, and she looks perfect. Her hairstyle is the basically the same as Danish Princess, but thicker and longer and not so ratty-looking.

One the minus side, she has those ridiculous Princess feet and generic white flat shoes. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Idea yet
It is about time Mattel started to use there brains and release Barbie as Super-Friends.Just like to old Super-Queens and the Mego dolls, now girls and collectors have something very different to add to there pink boxes.I am glad to add Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Supergirl, Catwoman (not too sure about the Halle version) and now Poison Ivy to my collection. Now if Mattel would expand the set with Vixen, Onyx, Mera, Black Canary, Zatanna, Huntress, Harley Quinn, Cheetah, and Hawkgirl.

5-0 out of 5 stars Squeeeee!
While her intended audience is of course little girls, Barbie as Batgirl will definitely appeal to grown-up collectors. Mattell's new super-heroine threesome (Batgirl, Wonder Woman, and Supergirl) is a 21st Century version of Ideal's old Superqueens - mine are going to hang out with the Captain Action reproduction made a few years back, just as their foremothers did. While I don't pretend to know what modern kids like, I would've gone completely nuts for her when I was in single digits and 'Batman' was on prime time twice a week. If your daughter likes the current animated Batman, Superman, and Teen Titans, she'll probably love Bat-Babs.

This is Barbie smooshed with Bruce Timm and Yvonne Craig, the best Batgirl since the 1970s Mego version. She's in bright comic-book colors, with a light coating of metallic confetti on her bodysuit and blazing yellow vinyl accents. The articulation is a bit unusual - Gumby arms and legs with a solid torso. Accessories are a Batarang, a plastic dangly lunchbox for your backpack, and a secure stand.

5-0 out of 5 stars Barbie Does Gotham
The third and final doll in this set, Barbie as Batgirl is probably my favorite.Like her pals, her costume is covered with some blue sparkly glitter to make her more...well fabulous.Batgirl is probaly the most well realized of the three, and the most sought after!A great doll from a great collection! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars South African Barbie
I love this doll. Two of my friends have her and I just bought one from an auction. No, she doesn't look like the average African-American.She's not supposed to; she's the SOUTH AFRICAN.She puts me in the mind of the model from Africa, Alek Webb. She is not your traditional beauty. As a dark-skinned African-American woman, I found her skin to be quite dark. However, I think she is representing the Motherland.A must have for a true Barbie collector.

4-0 out of 5 stars a nice doll
i could not believe that most of the reviews talked about her skin color as the only important thing here. i am 42 years old and all my life every black doll i picked up was very dark and rather ugly. it is like the manufactors don't realize that most black children are no where near that color and don't relate well with the dolls. i am light skinned and as a child refused to have a black doll because they were so darned dark and ugly and a bad representation of the black race.

this doll is done beautifully. the skill color is nice but for all those reviewers who think black people have been misrepresented, i would love to know where they shop. even the cabbage patch dolls are made of that same ugly chocalate color.

5-0 out of 5 stars She is gorgeous
I don't know where the person with the doll with all the faults bought her doll and if the doll is so unhappy with her, she should have taken her back, because my dolls skin is not ashy, and her hair short and kinky.I showed her to some family members and the majority found her to be ugly because of the darkness of her skin, and sadly this is a reflection of society within the black community where some of us stillbelieve thatthe lighter the skin, the prettier the girl. Her dark skin is what makes her so striking and gorgeous. ... Ken, sporting corduroy and a goatee? A four-inch high Scooby-Doo, who accompanies this strange amalgamation of manhood, would put it best: "Ruh-roh!" If we’re truly to believe that Barbie’s preppy beau is actually the beatnik Shaggy from the cartoon hit, we’ll have to accept his clashing lime green t-shirt, brick-red cords and gray hiking boots as a sign of the times--the 1970s. Mattel has tried as hard as they could, but Ken just doesn’t pull off the unkempt-cowardly-geek look: his hair won’t frazzle, he’s still buff underneath those awful clothes, and the goatee only makes him look like Kurt Cobain. Still, Mattel gets marks for nostalgia’s sake. --Diane Beall ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars This is not Exclusive limited Edition as advertised
The discription is missleading as when you get this doll,it is not the Limited Edition, but just the collector edition,I think this is a gross error and should be worded more correctly. This is false advertising.

4-0 out of 5 stars Second Irish Barbie in a series of Three
This doll is beautiful, but not as beautiful as the Princess of Ireland doll. The thing that I like about the Faerie Queen is especially like her long, red hair. I'm not sure that I care for the color of her outfit, which is almost a lime green (but not fluorescent or anything). I really don't know how durable she is because I have not removed her from the box. The green box adorned with Celtic knotwork that she comes packaged in is nice for display purposes. I think that she is worth the money. However, since I have bought the redheaded version of the Faerie Queen there is a limited edition brunette version of this doll that seems to be more collectable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful collection
This is a beautiful doll to collect if you enjoy Irish culture and myths. I am not Irish but have always had a fascination for Irish myths and legends. I love to look at this doll and just admire Irish Legend throught her. ... Read more

His family was very poor. Elvis told his mother at a very young age that he was going to be rich one day and buy her anything she wanted. He started singing in church and ended up being "The king of Rock-N-Roll". Elvis had a very big heart and he helped many many people. He is known for his generosity. Editorial Review

In the fifth season of the beloved sitcom "I Love Lucy," Lucy and Ricky headed off to Europe for a series of misadventures. One of the more memorable episodes from that season (besides the infamous grape-stomping show) featured Ricky tricking Lucy into wearing a potato sack while convincing her that she was actually draped in a dazzling gown from one of Paris’s top designers. Besides the fetching sack, Lucy wears a white hat (actually a horse’s feedbag on the show), black gloves, a stylish broach, and carries a simple black handbag. Although the joke, as always, is on her, Lucy maintains that look of innocence, earnestness, and, yes, glamour that made generations of television fans fall in love with her. This doll is not really a toy; it’s more of a keepsake for people who, after all these years, still love Lucy. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite Barbie Princess
The princess of Ireland is my favorite from the Dolls of the World series that I own. I think her best feature is her dark red hair which is almost auburn in color. Her least appealing feature is her makeup, which features lipstick that is too dark for her complexion. I only rate the durability of the doll at 3 stars because she really isn't meant to be played with. I have not removed her from the box, or any of my other dolls from this series.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lovely
This doll is, in my opinion, the prettiest Barbie doll from Ireland I've seen so far.She is built thin and with creamy white skin. Her make-up is very formal yet gorgeous, and her face has a sort of peacefulness to it.But her hair is definately one of the best parts about her!It is red and wavy with a small braid going down the front. It is also very long and is not easily matted. Her dress is decorative with a plastic gold-colored belt.A snap did break in the back where the dress buttons up, but it's hardly noticable.Over top of her dress she wears a forest green satin cape with a broach titled "The Tara Broach" that matches her belt. The crown is also nice, but I prefer her without it.

Overall, she is a lovely Barbie who is easily one of my favorites. She is meant to be collectible, but she isn't too accessorized or non-durable to be played with, which is how I use her.I think she is worthy of a high recommendation.

This doll is so pretty.I have her and I love playing with her.I would not recommend her for kids under seven because she is very delicate. She is collectable too. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Barbie!
Coca-Cola Barbie is simply gorgeous! If you love all that is Coca-Cola and the 1950's, you'll love how they've lovingly captured that era in the details of her costume and lovely face.I purchased this as a Christmas gift, but will enjoy visiting her whenever I am with my friend for whom I bought this beautiful doll! She's a treasure to keep for posterity.

5-0 out of 5 stars LEADING THE PARADE
I just love this doll. She reminds me of my childhood. I twirled the baton in many parades and entered twirling contests all over the U.S. I found it very exciting to find a doll that was not only leading the parade but twirling a baton too. The coca-cola logo adds something special. If your a coca-cola collector she would be an unusual piece for your collection. The doll is very attractive in the sturdy red and white uniform. Not many collector Barbies have black hair, so she is not the norm. Her red cape adds a flare to her uniform. She is a real collectable! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars This Doll
I am a 15 year old girl who has over 30 collectable dollls. Usually i get 2 of the same dolls because i have a job and a lot of money. i bought two of these dolls i played with one and it wasn't that fun but it is very durable. How is it Educational? But it is a good toy.

1-0 out of 5 stars cool
i gave this doll 1 star in education and fun beause it is a collecter doll and it is in the pink label sereies (if you read barbie bazzar you would know!). it is a cool doll and i am a 11 year oldcollecter. the only problem is that it looks like barbie, not elle woods. and the face is is a bit chunky.

Get over yourself...it's a doll depicting a character...she is Not a talking doll telling little girls to BUY pink or to pay more attention to fashion rather than careers...Have you even seen the movie???
