While Barbie seemed to be assimilating quite nicely into the various environments assigned to her over the years - veterinarian's office, lifeguard chair, NASA-it's in a shopping mall that Ms. B truly seems in her element. And what a sizable and comprehensive mall this is. It sports a hair salon where the fashion-conscious plastic doll can get a complete makeover or just a light touch up, a shoe store with a musical shoe stand, a clothing boutique, and numerous other shops. There's even an ATM, which makes a lot of sense given all the shopping to be done. What makes the mall really fun, however, are the zillions of tiny accessories - shoes, flowers, brushes, combs, outfits, and many more details that will make for hours of fun at the mall. Fun, but not very durable.
I bought this for my 8 year old for Christmas.She loves it.However, it is VERY cheaply made.It arrived with a slight crack in the floor.With just normal use, parts constantly fall off.I re-assemble this thing almost weekly.I paid $100 plus shipping for this toy.For that much money, it should at least stay together.
Even though my daughter enjoys it, I am very disappointed in this product.

This doll is so beautiful I really could not chose if I wanted the redhead with the peridot dress or the tawny colored hair with the red dress or the pale blonde in the purple dress.At this price?I bought them all!They are so utterly beautiful. The stunning, long hair is pale blonde, instead of the red or tawny hair, and the grown is purple this time (know my cousin Mary is going to love that!), but again so sophisticated. Great Item
I got this toy when is was little and it is GREAT!It tought me about the letters and numbers and more.If you are thinking about buying this you better think yes.It will teach them great inportant things.

THIS TOY STINKS
THIS IS THE MOST BORING TOY EVER! My daughter got sick of it in 5 minutes and she hasn't used it since last month! I asked her why she never uses it and she said that it is so boring because it is broken! It's a waste of money!

It only worked for ONE WEEK!!!!
This was a great toy the whole one week it worked, my daughter loved it, very educational! Then the buttons started sticking, I could "pop" them out with my fingernail, but then they started really sticking andI couldn't get them unstuck.I had to take it back, nothing I did would get it working again, so then we got the "Leapster", much better for the money. ... Pretty but poorly thought through construction
my daughter received both of these items for a gift.the horses will NOT stay connected to the carriage at all and she is 6 and gets very frustrated playing w/ it.the carriage moves fine on its own, just can't use any horses.same with the saddles coming off and going on.as far as the vanity, very tippy on carpet as i was putting it together.i wouldn't let a child snap the pieces of the long white rods-wouldn't trust not to break.not impressed.only had out of box for a day, will see how long both of them last.we however got them as seperate buys.not as joint deals!

disappointing
My 5 year old daughter was very excited to receive the horse and carriage from Santa.Excitement quickly turned to frustration.The horses come apart from the carriage after being moved a couple of inches, even if moved very slowly.The carriage now sits on her dresser with her favorite dolls.It's a pretty carriage, just don't expect to get any play time out of it.

Cheaply made toy very frustrating for children to play with.
My daughter who is 6 wanted this for her birthday. We got it home and put it together. She went to play with it and the horses fell off of the carriage. She tried putting them back on and couldn't. I put them back on and she went to play with it and they fell off again. She was very frustrated. Now she just plays with the horses and the Barbie dolls we purchased to go with it. She does not play with the carriage at all.

Her 16 month old and 4 year old sister play with the carriage they put their little people and weeble wobbles in it and push it around. Not worth the price we paid at all. Very disapointed in Mattel. I should have talked her into getting the Barbie Learning Notebook which is what she originally said she wanted until she saw this in the store.

I do not recommend this toy at all unless you want frustrated children or if you want to constantly put the horses back on all the time.

No Regrets, Great Value
I just bought this item 10 days ago. My daughters are 2 & 3yrs old and love this jeep. My 3yr old drives with her sister right beside her and they have a great time. Changing gears to reverse and forward are easy for my 3 yr old, now getting her to steer clear from my flower bed is the only challenge. Perfect speed,on or off grass, durable and one of the best gifts I have given them. Assembly was easy and the battery lasts for quite a while. I have nieces that range from 1-6 and they love coming over to ride the jeep. I highly recommend this item for any little girl.

Jordyns Jeep
We bought this for our daughter who just turned 4 and she absolutely loves it!She has learned how to go back and forth changing gears and going around objects.GREAT DEAL!WORTH THE MONEY!

Great Fun for Hours!
Santa brought this great jeep to my 3 almost four year old daughter for Christmas.She loves it and has traveled all over the neighborhood.The jeep is durable and keeps its battery charge for several hours.She has learned to really watch what she is doing and can drive pretty well (Boy is it fast).The wheels would spin some when she tried to ride, so we bought 12 inch bike tire tubes and cut them to put over her wheels...that thing will now climb a mountain.She has truly enjoyed her jeep and I feel like it was a great purchase!Thanks Santa! ... These dresses are washable
I washed the pink Annelisse dress in the washer and also put it in the dresser. It came out fine except for some lint on the velour part on the chest. I just used a lint brush to get it off and it was fine. I haven't needed to wash this blue one yet but totally plan on throwing it in the washing machine.

the sparkles shed all over the place!
My mom bought this dress for my daughter, who like most little girls wants to play dress up all the time.However, the sparkles on the dress shed EVERYWHERE (her face/hands/our furniture).We had to pronounce the dress "broken" and throw it out.The care tag says "do not wash" so we couldn't even try to wash the sparkles away.The pink princess barbie dress has no sparkles and has been successfully worn almost each day for over 2 months now - however, it is also not washable so will have to be retired soon as well.

Pretty dress, but itchy
My daughter loved this dress when she got at and wore it for about 20 before taking it off saying it was too itchy.She has yet to put it back on, and she's not overly sensitive.If your daughter is picky in any way about scratchy material, don't buy this dress.Very well made though.

I have both dresses
I got these for my 2 1/2 and 4 year old for halloween.Took everthing I had to keep them from ruining them before then.Now that that's over, I can't keep my little one out of Erica's dress.It's a bit big on her but she doesn't care.The lining of the blue dress does scratch her up a bit but not seriously.
It said ages 3 and up so I thought there wouldn't be a problem.My 4 year old is closer to the size of a 5 year old and this is really small on her.Tight across the sholders and comes just past the knees.She doesn't wear it as much.They are wonderully made dress with nice fabric.I suggest it to any movie lover.Just judge by how big your kid is as to if it will actually fit.

We bought this bike for my three year old daughter in August.She has ridden this bike maybe for an hour.The front wheel is defective and will not hold air!!I was told I waited to long to report this defect, we did not put the bike together until the middle of September so we had no way of knowing that the wheel was defective!!I'd steer clear of this bike and spend a bit more and buy one from a company that values it's customers. ... The songs are not age appropriate for the toy
My daughter's grandfather bought this guitar for her.He only looks at the "For ages 4+" part, so he thought it was a good choice.I think it's a cute toy, although it has no real redeeming qualities.But it's fun and a kick to watch her pretend with it.But I do have a problem with the song selections, with lyrics like "I'm not that innocent" from Brittney Spears and "I look but I don't touch"!!I don't really think it's approriate for 4 year olds, and as one other reviewer stated, by the time girls are 7 it's a boring toy.Not that those songs are for 7 year olds either.So, I'm a bit disappointed and frustrated that I am going to have to deal with her frustration when I get rid of the song cards.

HELP find new songs
My 4 year old daughter, ha steh dream of being a singer when she gets older. She recieved thsi guitar as a gift for Christmas. Well here it is Jan 5 and I am tireed of the same songs over and over!She loves the toy and plays with it from sun up to sun down!The only problem is that I am not able to find any other cartridges for this guitar. Please help find soem new cartridges! But over all it is a great toy and I agree it could use an on/off button!

My daughter loves it!
I agree with Ky from Kentucky.My daughter started saying she wanted it about the end of November and this is the ONLY thing she said she wanted!I went to Toysrus and they had several, so I didn't get one then mainly because I had my daughter with me.I went back about 2 weeks before Christmas to get it and there were none left.I saw one on toyrus.com and ordered it right away only to get an e-mail the Monday before Christmas that they were out of stock, so I got on the phone to every Toysrus within a 75 mile radius and not one store had any.I finally found one and it was the absolute last one at a Target.I have to say though it was worth all of the stress I went through to see her open that on Christmas and see her eyes light up and also see all of her "shows" that she puts on now! ... 7 yr old LOVE it
My 7 yr old daughter wants to be a vet when she grows up :0) So this was a perfect toy for her. She loves it. The barbie is great, but my daughter mostly loves to play with the cat and dog on the x-ray machine.

It's more of a fancy doll cottage than a castle, but I suppose no matter how compact, only a castle can pull off pointed spires, pink walls, a moving, music-playing ballroom floor, and inhabitants (Barbie and Kelly being two of them) dressed in gossamer and glitter. Flimsy!
It is a beautiful castle after it is put together...but shame on Mattel for terrible, blurry, vague instructions!The canopy/footboard fall down everytime.The Kelly bed keeps breaking off! My 4 year old gets angry bc everything falls over! Mattel could have done much, much better! Not a great toy.

Really cut, but not very durable
I really wanted to give this castle 5 stars, but it just isn't made very well.

My 5 year old daughter received this castle from Santa.We have a small house, and I liked that the castle had an eating area, vanity, Barbie canopy bed, small bed and bathtub, yet still closes up compactly.It took a LOT of time to set up on Christmas eve.There are a bunch of pieces and stickers to put in place.4 of us worked on it for about 2 hours.We finally figured everything out, but I didn't think that the instructions were very clear.In fact, there was one hiding place (the clock) that we never figured out how to open.

Christmas morning, my daughter was ecstatic!She is very into Barbies and princess, and she had a grand time with the castle.Of course, in short order, SHE discovered how to find the hiding place in the clock!I guess that's why this is marketed to little girls.

She has been playing with the castle steadily (but not roughly) for 4 months now, and it just isn't holding up.The little Kelly bed has broken off, and the canopy/footboard has broken.I was able to glue the canopy/footboard so that it is still usable, but the Kelly bed is now a stand-alone item.

My daughter would rate this castle highly, because she loves playing with it.Her Barbies and "dollhouse friends" (Little People sized dolls) all live in the castle, and really, how could a princess-girl resist it?But I have to rate it a little bit lower, since I expected it to hold up better.

Bottom line - It's a pretty neat castle for $35, but it doesn't give you value in the long run.

Great Castle!
I bought this smaller castle for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas after looking at the $100 castle.I am glad I did not spend the money on the large one.This is the perfect size to tote around from room to room and fits neatly on a shelf or corner.My daughter played with it for about 2 hrs straight one night before bedtime.She makes up a whole story with her barbies and other dolls can join in too.
The down side of the castle is that the chairs don't fit inside and in true barbie fashion there are a bunch of very tiny pieces that can get lost easily.We have been keeping these tiny things in a zip lock along with the chairs in one of her barbie boxes.Overall, this is a cool toy.I am enjoying the fact that she's at an age where it doesn't take very expensive toys to entertain her. ... Can buy house with chairs at Sam's Club
I have not decided which house to buy my daughter, but wanted to let you all know that at Sam's club the house does come with the chairs.Hope this is helpful....and, here at least, it's cheaper than at other stores....

Great Toy but the chairs don't come with it...
The little chairs do not come with the playhouse and I haven't seen them anywhere for sale but any little plastic chairs (from Ikea or Wal Mart) can be used there.The playhouse has provided hours of fun for our kids and all their friends.We initially assembled it in our basement and later decided to keep it there for year around play!The comment to assemble the roof before attaching it is probably a good idea as we had trouble gettig the roof on correctly.You will have to drill a few new holes but I also suggest that you attach the counter piece on the outside as shown in the photo and NOT inside as the directions show.There isn't much space left if you have that table on the inside of the playhouse.

A Beautiful Character Study
I saw her in the store today. I just had to get her. She is very good education, the clothes are realistic to the time period as well. I thought she looked so gorgeous. I love herface, whicht he photo makes look European. But my doll is very Asian looking. She is the only WORLD doll i have. I only am getting the Asian ones, they are the mos beautiful.

Anyway you wont be very dissapointed in her. She is beautiful.

One flaw is that her hands are in a 90 degree angle for good.
Her legs can bend. The suit is one piece.

A bit dissappointed at first, but then....
When I first saw the picture on amazon I thought this doll was a *must have* for any Barbie collector. When she arrived, though, I admit I was dissapointed that I didn't get that same "Wow" effect. However, after a few minutes of checking her out I determined I was indeed thrilled with my purchase! Being that I collect the Princess Dolls of the World collection, (and would have bought her anyway) I must say she is definitely one of the nicer dolls in the collection (and I am even considering buying a second to remove from the box!) Her hair, though not braided like in the pic Amazon shows, is indeed long (maybe somewhat braided or wavy, it's hard to tell) but gorgeous!. The dress (if you open the box) is not as nice,all one piece as opposed to the way it looks in the pic, but sadly, these DOTW dolls are simply a cheaper end doll and for the price, the dress is fine... overall I would give her 5 out of 5 stars for her appearance. The face looks more unique than many of the other Princess dolls and I personally think she does have a foreign look to her. Her eyes are hazel and her lips a nice dark color, her skin is also not so pale as typical barbie and definitely next to the Russian Princess, you can see her skin is certainly darker (perhaps not truly olive, like most Italians I know, but definitely not white). The box is a dissappointment on these as well. The new design makes them easier to open, however, most collectors will not even do that! I think it allows for dust to creep in easier..and when I did (I couldn't resist) open this one up I noticed the inner 'box' with the Italy backdrop on it was starting to warp already!? Brand new, huh...what will it look like in, say, 5 years!? Hmm... All in all, a must have for the DOTW Princess collector and a even a nice doll for any little girl (or big girl) to remove and play with! ... Read more

she loves to sing
I got this toy for my 3 1/2 year old daughter and she loves it!Especially the 'echo' effect!!I like the fact that she can sing along to the music (on cassette tape) or a cappella.

Fun for a while...
This toy was fun for while.My aunt got it for me when I was like 7 or so.I loved it when I got it but it broke after a while.I was so sad when it broke so my mom returned it and got another one to replace it.I played with it for about a year and almost all the tapes are lost now.Just to warn you the sound isn't very good and the headset does not fit me at all.But maybe it's because I am to big for because I'm 10 now.Overall it's still an ok toy.

Great idea, bad manufacturing!
My 7 and 8 year old loved this toy a lot last year, but it only lasted a couple months.Both microphones went out immediately and the headset didn't fit.We go them the Bratz karaoke machine to replace.More expensive, but it lasts.:) ... Read more

Not as pretty in person
This is just my opinion here, but this doll looks interesting and gorgeous in the photos, but when I saw her in person I was underwhelmed. Her face wasn't nearly as pretty as I thought it looked.

Keep in mind, I am very picky about Barbie dolls because I don't buy that many of them. I look for uniqueness, rather than the same old blonde Barbie, but I also look for dolls whose face is very nice looking. I loved Barbies as a child and am appalled that now many of the playline dolls have large heads, significantly larger than Barbie's head used to be. I don't see this problem as much with the Silver Label collectibles such as Choclate Obsession Barbie. I am collecting dolls for my daughter to have one day, and this was one I am not keeping for her. I was really disappointed in it.

Now on the other hand, this would make a nice collectible for a chocolate lover or someone who likes to buy a lot of unique collectible dolls, and at least this is not just another blonde Barbie.

I hope this review isn't unhelpful just because it's negative, I honestly just think this doll is merely okay, average, nothing too special or beautiful.

Crave chocolate?
This is one of the prettiest dolls that Mattel has released this year.Her chocolate attire is "yummy," and if you want the aroma of chocolate -- it's here.

She is a silver label collectible, which means that there will be no more than 50,000 dolls created world wide.(Pink lable or for play, gold is limited to 25,000.) So, for a collector, this is a gorgeous doll at an excellent price and will reach the point that she is no longer available quicker.

But for those of us who love chocolate -- well, enjoy the fragrance, grab a candy bar, and play.Her price is affordable for kids or adults.

Lots of fun, but many tiny pieces
My daughter loves this (even though her other barbies aren't played with much). My major complaint is the pellet pet food- do yourself a favor and discard it. The tiny rabbits and frogs tend to get lost, but my daughter doesn't seem to mind. She has spent many happy hours with it. Well worth the purchase!

I purchased this a few months ago for my eight-year-old's birthday - it is one of her favorite toys!She is not a Barbie collector, but plans on owning a pet store some day, so this was perfect.I can even have fun pretending with her - we take turns being the shop owner and customer (I love to drive her nuts with customers calling in with crazy questions, while she's "ringing up" my total!).This is not something she can have out when her tornado of a little brother is around (too many small pieces), but she enjoys setting it up for some good pretend time when he's asleep!
All in all, it's a great toy, with small pieces but lots of nice surprises - animal sounds, a cash register that opens, and a hamster that runs around his cage (he's magnetic, you control him from behind the wall) and even a hamster wheel.Lots of fun!

It's cute and all for a barbie lover but theres not that many pets -a couple of rabbits a dog a cat a hamsterand a bird wowthats a lot -NOT

Yeah Ijust dont see anyone buying this unless their on a barbie spree the 'toy' itself is kind of bulky and i had a hard time trying to find a good place to put it
