Editorial Review

Barbie fans will delight in getting this popular fashion doll ready for the ball in the final scenes of Barbie of Swan Lake. Barbie comes dressed for the role of Odette, the movie's beautiful heroine, in a glittery dress with a fitted bodice and an overlay of feathery leaves over a gauzy net skirt. Sparkling wings, a bejeweled necklace, and a crown marked by a swan complete her ensemble. A doll-sized skirted vanity table and chair provide a special place for Barbie-as-Odette to prepare for the ball. Her numerous beautifying implements include a comb, a brush, a hand mirror, barrettes, a purse, bottles of lotion and perfume, tiaras, and other jewelry. Other accessories include a framed picture of Prince Daniel (played by Ken, of course), a clock, a book, and several storage boxes. A kid-sized tiara and hand mirror are included with this gift set for girls who would like to play the Odette role themselves. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars attention prospective beauty queens
This toy is great. It is very durable and my 4 year old daughter will have plenty of time to grow into the toy.I was a bit worried that the toy was going to be to big for her because the reccomended age for this toy is eleven years of age; however, it is perfect. The toy has really boosted her confidence to become an entertainer.

4-0 out of 5 stars Made very well.
Over all I would say this is a great toy. Very durable. Most girls would love it. But not mine she isn't much into these type of toys. She likes her learing toys more than any.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!
I bought this for my daughter for her 5th birthday to replace a cheap one she had gotten when she was 2.She absolutely loved it.It's plenty big enough and she even has room to grow with it.Definetly worth the money.Takes up a lot of room though.I would highly recommend this!!! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars I HATE IT!!!
This doll is a waist of money. If I would go back in time and know about this doll, I would think about flushing MY money down the toylet before buying this HUNK OF JUNK!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Beautiful Character Study
I saw her in the store today. I just had to get her. She is very good education, the clothes are realistic to the time period as well. I thought she looked so gorgeous. I love herface, whicht he photo makes look European. But my doll is very Asian looking. She is the only WORLD doll i have. I only am getting the Asian ones, they are the mos beautiful.

Anyway you wont be very dissapointed in her. She is beautiful.

One flaw is that her hands are in a 90 degree angle for good.
Her legs can bend. The suit is one piece.

i give it on a scale from 1 to 10
9/10

fantastic doll.

5-0 out of 5 stars A bit dissappointed at first, but then....
When I first saw the picture on amazon I thought this doll was a *must have* for any Barbie collector. When she arrived, though, I admit I was dissapointed that I didn't get that same "Wow" effect. However, after a few minutes of checking her out I determined I was indeed thrilled with my purchase! Being that I collect the Princess Dolls of the World collection, (and would have bought her anyway) I must say she is definitely one of the nicer dolls in the collection (and I am even considering buying a second to remove from the box!) Her hair, though not braided like in the pic Amazon shows, is indeed long (maybe somewhat braided or wavy, it's hard to tell) but gorgeous!. The dress (if you open the box) is not as nice, all one piece as opposed to the way it looks in the pic, but sadly, these DOTW dolls are simply a cheaper end doll and for the price, the dress is fine... overall I would give her 5 out of 5 stars for her appearance. The face looks more unique than many of the other Princess dolls and I personally think she does have a foreign look to her. Her eyes are hazel and her lips a nice dark color, her skin is also not so pale as typical barbie and definitely next to the Russian Princess, you can see her skin is certainly darker (perhaps not truly olive, like most Italians I know, but definitely not white). The box is a dissappointment on these as well. The new design makes them easier to open, however, most collectors will not even do that! I think it allows for dust to creep in easier..and when I did (I couldn't resist) open this one up I noticed the inner 'box' with the Italy backdrop on it was starting to warp already!? Brand new, huh...what will it look like in, say, 5 years!? Hmm... All in all, a must have for the DOTW Princess collector and a even a nice doll for any little girl (or big girl) to remove and play with! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Barbie didn't need the reputational damage
Why would Barbie, a doll with a stellar international reputation, risk her sterling character by impersonating the heroine of one of the least successful motion pictures of all time?Barbie claims she wants to be taken seriously as an actress as well as a model, but then she goes and pulls what is clearly a publicity stunt.Surely her manager should be reigning in Barbie's tendencies to flash her figure in skimpy outfits. If Barbie wants to capitalize on Halle Berry's fame, a better choice might be "Monster's Ball Barbie," along with "Billy Bob Thornton Ken doll."

Speaking of which, I find it disturbing that other posters are alluding to Ken's sexual arousal at Barbie's latest get-up.I thought everyone knew that Ken does not have actual genitals, but rather a smooth plastic mound beneath his zipper.Sadly for Ken, he will never be able to satisfy Barbie.I think the other reviewers should be more sensitive to the differently abled, like Ken, and not assume that people's genitals are functioning or even existent.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bought this for my collection..
I collect African-American barbies and this one was a great addition to what I have so far.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice doll to add to collection
I really just wanted to rate this doll a single, 5-star rating. I don't think educational value is an issue because it's not supposed to be educational. As for durability, I don't know- I keep mine displayed in the box until my daughter is old enough to play with it.

People are missing the point when they protest this doll's outfit: this doll is SUPPOSED to be movie memorabilia, a likeness of Halle Berry's character in the movie "Catwoman". The outfit is similar to that worn by Halle. This is NOT slut-Barbie--- it is a replica of Halle Berry in "Catwoman". The real shame is that the doll doesn't resemble Halle at all in the face.

However, it's JUST a doll, and meant to be fun. I think this is a unique doll to add to a Barbie or similar doll collection. I like this doll better than the others out there- Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Poison Ivy. Catwoman is a doll with an amazing costume. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Supergirl is just SUPER!
I wonder what most collectors of this doll are complaining about? There is nothing wrong with this doll what so ever. Yes, I know I said that I wasn't going to buy this doll but hey I lied ok so Sue me. I mean how can I not right? I have all of the other Barbies like, Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Catwoman, Poison Ivy and now Supergirl!I got her two days ago and took her out of the box and was toying with her. There is NOTHING wrong with her boots as most collectors complained about, there's no slit in the back and it DOES NOT come off of her feet! Now I left her hair in the plastic wrapper that it comes in to keep it from being messed up. I know collectors/buyers were upset because hair on the doll comes out easily and that I do agree with in the case of Wonder Woman doll I first purchased, her hair came out easily when you combed her. So I stopped combing her hair and it doesnt come out so I just leave the doll on display. I bought a second Wonder Woman doll and that one I left in her box. Aside from that Supergirl is a great doll. I love her now and I will treasure them all. These dolls are nostly aimed for collectors and for young girls who treat their dolls delicately. If you know your child is rough with their toys then these DOLLS are NOT for THEM! Buy them and treasure them for years to come. ENJOY!

1-0 out of 5 stars Super Hero To The Rescue? It's SCARY!!!!!
Man, this doll gives me nightmares! I mean look at it! It's ugly!!!!!!! You would NOT want this hanging in your room!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars BEWARE
When my sister got this doll out of the box, she was so excited because she had finally finished collecting the whole D.C. Doll Series(Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Catwoman, Supergirl), but only to find out that this doll was poorly done. She started playing with her hair, very gently, and hair plugs went missing! Within 5 minutes out of her box, the Supergirl doll had more than six missing hairplugs! Strands of hair just kept coming off. We were all surprised because Mattel has always made quality products and this had never happened. All the other dolls had come out fine, it was just this doll that came with defects. My sister was sad, and my mom decided to buy her another one because the doll was missing a lot of hair and probably could not be returned. So when she got her 2nd Supergirl doll, she also came with defects. The shirt was kind of small, and very tight and hard to put back on. The hair did not come as defected as the first doll, but it still has hairs coming off when her hair gets combed or a little pull. A BIG DISSAPOINTMENT. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing
My step-son bought this for my daughter last year (she was five). She was so excited she couldn't wait to get it out of the box, and when I looked at all the activities I thought "wow, this is both a really great intro to a computer and a fun learning toy for her."She played with it for exactly one hour and then put it down and told me she had a headache.Since then she has tried on and off to use it, but she only gets frustrated.Reason:The screen is very tiny and the lighting of the screen is very dull which makes the child have to squint to see it.She was so disappointed she was practically in tears.I think in the year she's had it she's played with it a handful of times and always tells me she can't see it, and she gets very frustrated because the games are very interesting to her and she would really love to play them if only she could stare at the screen for longer than an hour at a time.

Come on, Mattel, I expect better than that both from you and the Barbie line.Barbie products are typically better made and more expensive than other toys, and parents buy them because their daughters are crazy for Barbie--as I was when I was a child.I don't mind being "locked-in" to buy a product line that is pricy if my daughter loves it and will use it, but this was a terrible waste of my step-son's money. With all the technology of today, and considering the size of this toy, couldn't you find some way to make the screen bigger so kids could enjoy it?

The only one who gets any use out of it is my 3 year old son who gets a kick out of Barbie's voice when he presses the buttons, but has no interest in the screen--and that's the only reason I haven't thrown it out yet. That's just sad for a Barbie product.

2-0 out of 5 stars couldn't return it fast enough
Yuck. We didn't like it at all. We got it for our 4 1/2 year old. It's cute looking before you turn it on but that's all it's got going for it, in my opinion. The sound is awful. The screen is hard to see. And the games are way too complicated and confusing for the age it's recommended for. The child definitely needs to be able to read to use it. It was such a poor toy that we decided to just return it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great learning fun!

3-0 out of 5 stars Really cute but.....
My daughter got this set for her birthday. As I'm taking the dolls out of the packaging their pedestal breaks. So now there is only one seat for the mermaids. Plus as everyone else has mentioned the accessories are far to small, and there is nowhere for them to go, except the garbage. The dolls are really cute but the quality is lacking.

4-0 out of 5 stars Magical Mermaids are a winner in our home!
The first thing that I noticed that I didn't like about the mermaid set was the tiny accessories. They are extremely cute and a good idea for a child's imagination, but they are just so small that within the first day they were lost. My daughter has never been good about saving any of the accessories with any of her toys, and I have never been good about finding them. I almost wish I would have just left them attached (especially after the trying time we had just to get the accessories pulled off). Second, the little halter tops that both fairies wear are removable. As usual, my daughter pulled them off immediately and they are lost as well. This would be fine if the mermaids weren't so small, but now the little cloth halter tops are lost somewhere in one of the toy boxes (or somewhere else).

However, aside from those minor annoyances this really is a wonderful set. The pixie flower is extremely sturdy and it almost impossible to bend or break. And as tiny as these mermaids are, they are sturdy as well. As small as their little arms and fins are, these are two strong little mermaids. My daughter absolutely loves the mermaids and plays with them continuously. Every night they are put in their pixie flower, and greeted every morning. They also make a cute decoration, as the flower sits perfectly by itself. I would suggest though (if you want to keep the accessories) that parents keep a close eyes on all the tiny brushes, bottles, and mirrors. They can and will be lost by most young children.

The mermaids and flower still look new to this day and considering how much time and enjoyment my daughter has had with the mermaids, this was definitely $9.99 well spent. Although I cannot recommend some of the other Fairytopia fairies and mermaids, this one is a winner.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love the little mermaids!
I got my 4 yr old the Elina, Dahilia and two sets of pixie dolls (1 fairy & 1 mermaid). She absolutely LOVES them! She carries them around and plays mommy and baby fairies with them.We braided their hair (pony tails for the big dolls) and the hair has not gotten ratty.I recomend this set for any little girl who needs babies for her fairyies and mermaids. Not very educational, but they do prompt role playing and imagination. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars violet beauty
This Barbie is so pretty. Just look at the sparkles and the purple/violet hair.i love this doll.you will too.

2-0 out of 5 stars The Shedding Sparkle Barbie
When I first saw Barbie Fairytopia Sparkle Fairy Barbie I must admit I thought she was quite pretty. I still think this Barbie is beautiful. She is a lavender color and her entire body glitters with sparkles. Her body is a light lavender color topped off with a darker shade of lavender for her hair. She has gorgeous little fairy wings that jut out her back. The wings are white with dark lavender swirl designs on them. Sparkle Barbie has a lavender strapless half shirt that is painted onto her body(with glitter all over it). She is also wearing an "extremely" short lavender skirt with a white train that attaches in the back. She also has a lavender flower belt, and she is topped off with, yep you guessed it, lavender slippers. Even her lipstick is "lavender". Like I said, she really is a beautiful Barbie and probably the prettiest one that I have seen in the Fairytopia collection so far.

The wings are attached by sticking them into little holes in the back of Sparkle Fairy Barbie's back. There is also a little button that you can push to make the wings flap. The skirt, train, and slippers can be removed if you must (and of course, my daughter MUST undress every Barbie that she receives).

Don't let Sparkle Barbie's good looks fool you. She is a pain! I didn't think that anything could be quite as bad as the Fairytopia Mermaid, but Mermaid has met her match! Of course Haleigh loves her and she especially loves the wings. Mommy does NOT love the wings at all. They fall off all the time and I was constantly having to put them back on over and over again. It brought back nightmares of the fin that would never stay put. Haleigh understood that I was getting frustrated so she tried to attach the wings back itself. One wing broke in half and the spoke was stuck in Sparkle Barbie's back. I then heard screams and cries for days on end about how Barbie is now broken. When the wings were actually intact, it was impossible for my daughter to make the wings flap. Even when my husband or I flapped the wings for her, they only half way flapped and consistently got stuck.

Second, the glitter that is supposed to stay on Barbie and no one else simply does not stay put. Sparkle Barbie has shed glitter everywhere. If anyone has had experience with glitter, then you know it's not the easiest thing to clean up being so small. There was not a large amount of glitter shed, but enough for me to really dislike this Barbie.

The only good things that I can say about Barbie Fairytopia Lavender Sparkle Fairy Barbie is that the rest of her body is pretty durable. Even though she sheds glitter, the painted on shirt has not faded and her arms and legs are still in working order.

4-0 out of 5 stars a great doll - but not for kids
I am a teenage girl collecting barbie dolls, and occasionally I play with them. I recently added this doll to my collection. I really love her, since she's gorgeous and the glitter doesn't come off (which is often a problem with glitter toys).

However, if your child is between the ages of 3 and 10, this might not be the right purchase for them. As a 'mature' collector I am always very careful with my dolls, but I'm sure you know that children often aren't. Since the wings are very fragile and will easily break, they're not really fit for children to play with.

I think that overall it's a wonderful doll, but children will need to be careful with it and that's not always an easy task while playing. ... Read more

Editorial Review

There are few toys quite as fun as that old standby, the pretend cash register. But as anyone who’s been in a grocery store in the last few years can tell you, the technology has changed a little bit. Gone are the days of punching in each individual price by hand, replaced by high-tech scanners and coding. Fortunately, Barbie rolls with the punches, unveiling this souped-up shopping cart, brimming with products, and scanning system for any kid looking to play grocery store in a more realistic way. 24 pieces of pretend food are included, with a heavy emphasis on snacks like popsicles and cookies, along with a small scanning station. Other shopping items, featured in a flip-book catalog, are also able to be scanned using a special electronic pen. This kit may lack the satisfying clunking sounds of the old fashioned toy cash register, and the American Express co-branding seems to be a bit of unfortunate marketing that does little to enhance the fun, but the use of modern shopping gadgetry will likely be a hit with kids. --Charlie Williams ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The best toy for my 5 year old daughter!
On December 4th, my daughters birthday I bought her the Barbie scan and play shoping cart. For the whole day she could not stop playing with it. When I called her for dinner she would not leave it alone. I want to assure you that this toy is both educational and fun for you and your child. My girl can now add and partly subtract and she knows what to do when she goes to the store she can tell me how to pay and she knows how to count money. This toy is absolutly incridable!

3-0 out of 5 stars Too high priced
My 4 year old daughter received this for Christmas this year.Like the other reviewers, we found it frustrating.Everytime she looks for an item on the shopping list, it shuts off before she's through. It is very durable but is hard to push on the carpet. She never uses the scanner because you have to do it exactly right for it to work. I think she was a little dissapointed that it doesn't have a place for her doll to sit. It was not worth $70.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Good and Bad for a 6 year old.
Bought this for my just turned 6 year old.The first one had to be replaced as it kept going back to the demo mode by itself. With the first one, though, the scanner seemed to work most of the time (when not in demo mode).Got the replacement and everything seems to work with the exception of the scanner.I can't get the scanner to work more than once out of every 10 or so scans.I think for the price, the scanner should work at all times.

Besides the scanner, my child seems to love the toy.She likes to shop via the "shopping list" feature. At first, the 90 second automatic turn-off feature of the toy was somewhat of a problem, but after a bit, this ceases to be a problem with her.I could see where this would be a problem with younger children. But, the cart and food products are so durable, that a younger child could play rough with it and I think it would still survive and "grow" with your child.

Overall, my child is really enjoying this toy and there is educational value in it.Also, because of the 90 automatic turn off feature, it does make her pay attention and stay focused while playing.I think at it's price and it's association with Barbie that one should expect all parts to work at all times, but apparently there is a problem with at least some scanners with this toy.

Girls can reenact the most romantic part of the movie Barbie as Rapunzel with this horse and carriage play set. The carriage carries figures of Rapunzel (as played by Barbie) and the prince (both sold separately) away from the tower the princess has been locked away in for years. The carriage is every girl's fantasy, with a plush purple seat, pink roses traveling up the sides and back, and glittery blue heart-shaped hubs covering the wheel spokes. The gorgeous pink horse has a long, blonde, silky mane, not unlike that of Barbie herself, and an ornate purple bridle, halter, and reins. The horse comes wearing a bejeweled tiara with matching clips in her mane that girls can wear in their own hair. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars okay
though she is very pretty and her dress is made out of nice fabric i think her dress is very plain. no wonderful designs some of the other dolls had like, the ancient greece one or the irland one. she just seems kind of plain, and her eyes seem to dazed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Barbie Fan - England owner
This Barbie is very well made.I do have a few complaints. The dress is sewn on which means that it can't be changed unless you cut the threads holding the back together. If there is a seamstress in your family, this is fine to do since the back is hemmed, meaning that snaps or hooks and eyes can be sewn on.My other complaint is that her arms are bent at an almost 90 degree angle, permanently.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite Princesses
The Dolls of the World: Princess of England is by far one of my favorite princesses. Her costume is exquisite and her hair and makeup are gorgeous as well. Of course the quality of this doll is the same as the other dolls in the series. I just happen to think that the costume and hair combinations that were chosen turned out well on this doll. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Realistic and Really Cool
This horse is the best toy horse I have seen to date. It is fully articulated, with joints at the base of the neck, the head, knees and hocks, and at the top of each leg. The overall shape of this horse is really nice, and the colour is also very pretty. It looks better in real life than it does in a box or in a photo.
One of the best features about this toy horse is the mane and tail. Both are crimped and sunstreaked with copper, and the texture is unlike any Barbie hair I have felt before. The hair is fine and silky. The mane is also very long. The beads are as shown in the second Amazon photo of this horse, and they slide nicely onto the mane and tail with the simple-to-use 'beading wand' included, although it can be a bit tricky sometimes with a thick piece of mane or tail. It also comes with 10 small rubber stoppers to place underneath a bead to prevent it from sliding off.
The tack which comes with this horse is also the best I have seen in Barbie toy horses. The bridle is plastic and fairly ordinary, but the reins are actual fabric- faux leather- which is a nice touch. The reins come tightly curled in a coil and tend to want to curl up but it is easy to fix this- just place them straightened underneath a heavy book for at least one day and they are fine. The saddle I love. It is a western saddle, ornately decorated and with great attention to detail. The saddle pad is a simple blue fabric square. The saddle bags are also nice. The pockets really open and have velcro to securely close them, and you can store the beads in them. They are also decorated with decorative stitching, again showing attention to detail. The blue blanket shown rolled up on the saddle bags is secured there by two pieces of elastic, and can be taken out and unrolled. It unrolls to be around the size of the saddle pad.
All in all, this is a great toy. I would highly recommend it for any horse enthusiast who also likes Barbies and toy horses. The horse is a good size for Barbie dolls to ride it, as long as they have flexible hip joints and preferably jointed knees as well, as the California Girl horse-riding dolls Summer, Barbie and Lea do.
One more thing- the box this horse comes in is not shown in any of the Amazon pictures, but should be, as the inside part (the part which slides out) is made out of sturdy cardboard and is made to look like a stable. It has slatted gates for stable doors which swing open and closed, and the inside is designed to look like a stable, from the 'hay' on the floor to the photos 'stuck' to the walls. It also has a huge window thing at the back of the stable which is covered with a piece of translucent plastic, which shows a scene of the beach. It looks as if you are looking out of the stable onto a beach. It is really nice. It is not very deep, probably about 20 or so centimetres (8 inches), but has generous height and width.
This is a really cool toy and I really enjoy having it. Recommended! ... Read more

Features

  • 'I Love Lucy®' is one of the world's very favorite television shows. Since its inception in October of 1951, Lucy Ricardo - along with her husband Ricky Ricardo and neighbors Fred and Ethel Mertz - is an unforgettable character, always funny and unique. Classic, timeless, and eternally hilarious, 'I Love Lucy®' remains a benchmark of comedy.
  • One iconic Lucy costume is her navy and white polka dot dress with white apron. Although seen in many episodes, it is perhaps most memorable in 'Sales Resistance'. Originally broadcast on January 26, 1953, 'Sales Resistance' begins with Fred and Ethel around the piano as Ricky records a song he wrote for Lucy, who is in the hospital after having a baby.
  • In fact, Lucy bought the new tape recorder from the woman in the next bed. This story causes the triou at home to reminisce about their sales experiences. Lucy is in her kitchen, showing Ethel the 'Handy Dandy Kitchen Helper' she had ordered from TV.
  • When Ricky discovers yet another frivolous purchase, he demands that Lucy return it to the company. Lucy tells Ricky how difficult it is for her to resist a salesman, but Ricky insists. When the salesman comes that afternoon, he happily takes back the kitchen gadget, but bamboozles Lucy into buying a 'Handy Dandy' vacuum cleaner.
  • Again Ricky insists that Lucy return this new acquisition, but she knows that the salesman can sell her anything. Ricky finally agrees to return it himself. To avoid another sales pitch, Lucy takes off for the movies with Ethel.

5-0 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE for Lucy Collectors
An incredible likeness to everyone's favorite redhead, this Barbie is perfect for the I LOVE LUCY collector and fan. The episode was hilarious, with Lucy buying a vacuum cleaner, Fred buying a washing machine, and Ricky a fridge! The laughs were non-stop as one fumbling mishap after another keeps the Ricardo's and Mertz's bickering the entire time. Lucy wears this pretty polka dot house dress and the details of hairdo, backdrop of the apartment and even her facial expression are wonderfully accurate.Treat yourself to this one of a kind collectible. The first dolls in this limited edition series are long gone and hard to find -- don't let this one get away!

5-0 out of 5 stars "Peels and slices, cuts and dices..."
I absolutely love "I Love Lucy" and have eagerly collected each of the Barbie dolls issued by Mattel in the Lucy series. This one is exceptionally nice as it features Lucy Ricardo dressed as she was in so many episodes, as a typical New York housewife. She is wearing her navy dress with white polka dots and a white apron with red rick rack trim.

Of course, this is the classic episode in which Lucy purchases the worthless Handy Dandy Kitchen Helper, prompting Ricky to accuse her of having no sales resistance. To her credit, Lucy does attempt to return the worthless item but the salesman is just too persuasive and ends up selling her a more expensive vacuum cleaner instead. In one very funny scene, Lucy goes door-to-door in an attempt to sell the vacuum to some other gullible housewife. Unfortunately she has no luck. She returns to the apartment exhausted and minus one shoe and tells Ricky that a few hours more and someone would have reported the death of another salesman. Lucy then leaves it up to Ricky to deal with returning the vacuum cleaner to the salesman and he soon discovers that he, too, is "putty" in this man's hands. :)

The photo/tableau in the box is taken from the living room of the Ricardo's apartment. Lucy is standing with the fireplace to one side ( with the Kitchen Helper sitting atop the mantel) and the vacuum cleaner on the other. A very, very nice addition to the series!

Editorial Review

There’s a party goin’ on at the Party Pad, and everyone’s invited! In an effort to raise money for a local animal shelter, Barbie, Madison, Chelsea, and the rest of the My Scene gang decide to throw a masquerade party in the DVD movie, Masquerade Madness. And what a party it is! My Scene followers will be thrilled to see this 23-minute DVD, and even happier to find Madison all dolled up as a very sexy City Kitty, complete with pink faux-fur-trimmed jacket (at least we hope it’s faux; it is an animal shelter fund raiser, after all), matching pink tail, belly-revealing pink faux leather tube top, sleek hip-hugging pants, chunky high heels, and cat-ear headband. Plus she has a boom box, a costumed puppy, lots of accessories, and a whole other outfit, presumably for the after-party party. Me-ow! Warning: Girls, don’t try these outfits at home--you’ll be grounded for a month! --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Copper30
My 3 year old daughter wanted these skates to take to the beach this spring so I bought them for her.She absolutely loves them. What is suprising is how well she does in them. She has a pair of the Barbie First Skates and wanted something different. If the child knows how to skate somewhat well these will do okay. These skates are not for a beginner skater as the wheels roll in both directions.I suggest that the parent not buy these if the child doesn't already know how to skate.

3-0 out of 5 stars I just noticed
I was looking for some skates for my three year old son. He always wants to put mine on and I want to get him a pair that fits him. Why is there only girl orientated skates? Where are the little boy styles? I don't think I'll bother with the store if they're not even on the website. Do you know what I mean?

I rated everything a three because I do not own these, my son has not tried them, and I have to rate them in order to comment. They may in fact be better than a three star rating.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed
We bought these skates for our 5 year old. She could barely skate in them. They are too big and bulky for children just learning to skate. We returned them and have yet to find another pair. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Sing With Me, NOT
Very cute toy, if it worked. The cd player would not play a cd on the first one I bought and the same thing when I exchanged it for a new one. Finally, I got my money back.Very dissapointed.

1-0 out of 5 stars flimsy and too loud
We got this for our 4 year old. Right away, certain CD's wouldn't spin up in the player. Even though there is a separate volume control for the 2 mics and the music, if you turn the mic volume all the way down you still can't hear the music through the vocals. The speakers are lousy, but that might be expected on what is essentially a toy. Don't expect anywhere near decent boom-box speaker quality. The whole thing rattles with the vocals. There is an echo effect that you can control the delay on, so you get this long echo or a shorter one just to enhance the vocals. That's about the only cool part. Also, it doesn't come with a power cord, so batteries only unless you pay extra for the cord.We ended up returning the thing to the store very disappointed.Even if the spin-up problem turned out to be a glitch, we were so unimpressed with it in general that we didn't want a replacement. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Creepy!Don't buy it!
My daughter received this hideous imitation of a Barbie for her birthday.Who EVER thought that the twisted spine was a good idea??????
The real stinker is that my daughter loved the kareoke machine that came with it so I can't even exchange it!My advice is to NEVER buy this and if you were suckered into it to contact Mattel and complain.I certainly will.HIDEOUS!!!If I could have posted with zero stars I would have.

1-0 out of 5 stars very weird barbie
I agree with most. The doll is pretty much stuck in this bent position. Getting her changed into her other outfit was very difficult. She is way taller than regular barbie. Her arms and legs are about the only thing that is the everflex bendable. My 7yr old played with it for a couple days and thats it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Freakish
This doll is disgusting and freakish looking. You'd think with all the controversy over the unrealistic way regular Barbies look, the last thing they'd want to do is come out with such an emaciated looking doll. They could take away the pop clothes and karaoke machine and remarket this as a dolls of the world concentration camp barbie. ...
