The Barbie Shop With Me Cash Register proves once again that Barbie is the coolest.Madedurably and in Barb's trademark colors (pink, hot pink, purple, white, etc.), this is a sleek number that canbe operated on the floor, bed, or tabletop. It features four realistic ways to buy noodles, yogurt, and toiletpaper. Option 1: A "clerk"--either a child or Barbie--scans the bar codes of included price tags. Option 2:You can manually input the price of items. Option 3: Items may be scrolled down the register. Option 4,which is, by the way, your humble writer's favorite: Make up your own prices! Get "Barbie Discounts"when you use your savings debit card. The Barbie register comes with a slew of accessories, including 18scannable price tags, play money, play credit/debit cards, a keypad, built-in microphone, and a 120-itemshopping catalogue offering everything from Barbie-brand jeans to junk food. The machine features ahigh-tech hand-held scanner and LCD on the register, which shows a customer's subtotal, item number, unitprice, and total. You get everything but a receipt. Hmmm.

A built-in microphone allows your child to make store announcements and call for price checks and itemvoids. This heightens the interaction this toy was built for, since Barbie's voice simulates the real shoppingexperience enough already. "Cash or charge?" she asks in a perky tone. Tip: If you don't pay up at oncewith your Barbie greenbacks or American Express-like credit card, you'll be harassed. We writers foundourselves fumbling through our own wallets, trolling for coupons. Educational and Fun!!!
This toy is very educational and fun. Like going shopping in your own home. It is very high tech and advanced. If I had to recommend a toy for a child this would be my number one choice.
It is educational because it has a built in calculator. Also when you have to give change you have to count out the right amount of money to give back to the customer.I am 11 years old and I stil play with mine. It is the best toy I have ever had. Very amazing!!!!!!! Kids are learning some math skills and are having fun doing it.

I have had this toy for such a long time and even though I'm 10 I Istill play with it!It even teaches little kids math skills!I don't like what the lady said about her kid not being able to read it because I had it when I was five and I still had fun with it. Still a great toy!

Microphone will drive you crazy
I bought this register used at Goodwill for my 3 year old niece. She was with me when I bought it and loved it right away, even when the batteries weren't put in. We brought it home and her 15 month old sister adored it too. The only problem about this toy is the microphone. It absolutely drove their parents crazy! That's pretty much the only part of the register the girls played with and she figured out that if she put the microphone in her mouth and blew on it, a VERY loud feedback sound would occur! I didn't think the microphone was real when I bought it or that it would cause such problems. Can buy house with chairs at Sam's Club
I have not decided which house to buy my daughter, but wanted to let you all know that at Sam's club the house does come with the chairs.Hope this is helpful....and, here at least, it's cheaper than at other stores....

Great Toy but the chairs don't come with it...
The little chairs do not come with the playhouse and I haven't seen them anywhere for sale but any little plastic chairs (from Ikea or Wal Mart) can be used there.The playhouse has provided hours of fun for our kids and all their friends.We initially assembled it in our basement and later decided to keep it there for year around play!The comment to assemble the roof before attaching it is probably a good idea as we had trouble gettig the roof on correctly.You will have to drill a few new holes but I also suggest that you attach the counter piece on the outside as shown in the photo and NOT inside as the directions show.There isn't much space left if you have that table on the inside of the playhouse.

Of course it's not educational!
But that's why we play with dolls - to get away from school life and tension.Now, this doll CANNOT be a role model, because Mattel hasn't given her a plastic 'life' in the form of media or books.I like her! She doesn't have that gaudy grin on her face nor a snobby look like Bratz and My Scene.Know why she's great?She's got cool stuff that comes with her.She looks like a real person, NOT A MONKEY!These dolls are NOT - I repeat - NOT a rip-off to Bratz like My scene was, because Hilary duff designed them, and Hilary Duff DID NOT rip-off of anyone (and when you think about it, Bratz themselves are a rip-off to real stars like Hilary Duff, because she was here long before any of them).

Gracie loves it!
my almost 4 year old daughter Gracie, just received the kitchen last week and absolutely loves it.My husband assembled it, he said the instructions were very easy and clear.the only problem is that in the packaging of the item, a small plastic piece was broken off, the piece that makes the oven door click shut.Now that the item is out of stock, we have to wait to have the kitchen replaced with a new one in perfect condition.Gracie is unaffected by this though, she loves it, loves all the accessories. It's really a cute, big-girl kitchen for any Barbie fan.

Brittney loves her Barbie kitchen!!!!!!!!!
This was one of my almost 3 daughters christmas gifts. It took awhile to put together, I had a rough time with one screw because it was very difficult to maneuver the screwdrive in that particular part, otherwise it went smoothly. My daughter loves the fact that"Barbie just calls her out of the blue", she plays with it and sits down for a snack or something and all of a sudden it is Barbie on the phone. She just had her birthday and it was fun for her to hear Barbie "telling her how much she likes birthday parties. Santa had his heart set on the disney kitchen, but is was out of stock, but we are pretty satisfied with his choice and most of all so is Brittney.

Not the best kitchen
I bought this toy for my almost 4-year old and 2-year old daughters. They wanted it so bad for Christmas, but hasn't been played with very much. It has a lot of screws and took a long time to put together...some of the screws were very difficult to get in, both because of tightness and because you can't manuever your hand and screwdriver around the toy itself. Once it was all together, it looked great, but the refrigerator doesn't exactly close right. Also, the sink comes out because it is not screwed down and doesn't snap in. I'm also just waiting for it to fall over, because it isn't very heavy, and I've seen it tip several times while my girls played with it. The food pieces are very sturdy plastic, but there aren't enough pieces. I think we'll end up using food from other toys that we have, just so there's enough to go around! There are only 2 plates and 2 cups, along with 2 sets of forks and spoons. Once my 3rd daughter grows up, I'm afraid she'll be left out! ... Read more

Great for imaginative play
My daughter received this toy for Christmas.We have no trouble with the pieces falling apart.My daughter loves playing out the scene from the double wedding of Annalise and Ericka.

Piece of Junk!!!!
My daughter got this for Christmas and she was so excited for us to open it. It is the most flimsy and cheap toy. It will not stay together or stand up. The only durable parts of the toy are the wedding cake and the cats. Please, do not waste your money on this toy.

Who wrote 'GROSS!'?
I think the SO CALLED DELANCY is my favorite myscene doll! So whoever wrote 'GROSS!' NEEDS TOJUST THINK; what if someone said HER favorite toy is junk? OH and P.S. she spelled 'always' wrong.

Absolutely Wonderful!
This styling head is so totally awesome! I have so much fun styling her gorgeous hair. The dark red streaks look amazing with the light blonde color of her hair. I think that the My Scene styling heads are very educational because they can teach how to style all different kinds of hair. This head has very thick gorgeous hair. It was a little ratty and tangled when I first took it out of the box. After brushing it for a while, it looked wonderful. Also the size of the head is actually very close to the size of an actual head (maybe like a toddler's). I am a 14-year-old boy and I have hours of fun styling this doll's hair!

What a waste of money!
I thought it was over priced but there were so many good reviews so I took a chance. OOps that was a mistake. My stove malfunctioned after a few times playing with it. My four year old daughter was bored in no time at all. It is neat that the food has microchips in it but there is a warning that if the food is placed in drawer under stove ( the only storage place on this toy) that microchips could no longer work. Please don't waste your money on this toy. (...)

Barbie Kitchen
I bought this for my daughter when she was 4. She loves this kitchen. As the other reviews state, it is a tad on the small side, but I just put it on a small table and my daughter plays with it all the time. We purchased the additional meals online at Toys R Us and she loves serving up all sorts of meals. She even enjoys setting the table now and has become very interested in being mommy's helper in the kitchen. Her 2 year old cousin loves it and when her babysitter comes over, she loves playing with it too. There is no age limit.

Great kitchen! (but just a little small)
After returning the Magic Cook kitchen, we got this Barbie kitchen for our 3 year old daughter who absolutely loves it!The sound is clear and it is a good educational toy.The product is very sturdy and comes with great play food and accessories.The oven is a good size and there are no problems with the doors or anything.The downside to this product is that is very small, seems the manufacturer should have made it larger, especially since it is so educational and teaches children how to properly set the table, manners, etc.Older toddlers and children can benefit from this, but by the time they are 5 or so, they will be taller than the kitchen!This is when a table will come in handy (but it seems weird to put a kitchen/oven on a table).Anyhow, my daughter simply loves this kitchen and that's what is important.My overall rating of 4 stars (should have been 5) is simply because of it's small size. ... Okay
I got this toy and after a while the head started coming off. Later the head just fell off all together. The durablity is not that good.

My daughter loves this!
My 6 year got this for Christmas last year and she still plays with it often.Unlike the the Barbie Primp and Polish styling head (I've read the bad reviews), this head has durable, easy to comb hair.It seems as if the hair has some kind of coating on it to keep it straight and silky.I've only had to untangle the hair once because she got a bow twisted in it.Other than that, we have no complaints.Maybe they should use the My Scene hair on all of their styling heads.

Horses wont stay attatched to carriage
Sorry Barbie fans.This is a disappiontment.The horses just do not stay attached to the carriage at all.The horses are smaller than the standard Barbie horses so they can't share saddles and tack with the other horses in our Barbie collection.Decorative pieces of the carriage fall of regularly.It looks so pretty in the box, but it does no good if the girls can't play with it.As my daughter told me, "Sell this in the Yard Sale.I never play with it."I say get the blue Barbie convertable instead.

Waste of money
This carriage was a present to my daughter, Christmas 2004. She liked it until she attempted to play with it. The horses do not stay on the toy...the plastic strap to hold them in place is the problem. It's too flimsy. It now sits in her toy box, unused.
Mattel had a good idea. Their follow thru leaves much to be desired, however.

My daughter wanted everything princess & the pauper this year from Santa. I think the castle and everything else was great but the carriage is the worst toy EVER! Ok toy, just not for me.
Their is no patent on Shoe packs, Styling Heads, Fashion packs or Sets! Mattel and MGA can make anything they want! No one is copying anything! (And no offense to anyone but everyone who has said MGA is copying mattel they are somewhat right since Mattel has been around since the 60's!) But, I personally don't like the styling heads, I had one but I returned it. But I also am older and look at things from a more collectible standpoint rather than a play toy standpoint. I also think it would be educational if you wanted to be a hairstylist and it was pretty fun!

I think Granny Bear has brought up a very vital point. I don't need to repeat it, I think you can read it for yourself. I find myself brought to tears again and again reading all these cruel remarks about Bratz(well not really but it was VERY angering).
I like Bratz the best but I also do my little sister's My Scene's hair and I think that My Scene are kinda alright. Also, I like Barbies, I have loved them FOREVER but I admit I have moved on with still the same respect for them as always. They have been around a LONG time but... change is good, right? It's not a competition, it is simply one's choice. Also, the remarks saying that My Scene's suck and all that are really unnecessary and I think that we should all respect different people's taste whether it be that they like the original barbies, the evolved barbies(that would be the My Scene's), or the recent Bratz.
