Disappointing Tank
Each of my two sons received a tank from their Grandparents.Great toy until the tracks broke.After just a few weeks of use they broke into several pieces and cannot be repaired.Kids do not play with them anymore because they do not move.Very disappointing.

Great Tank!
After my son played with this in the toy store for 30 minutes I came home and ordered it for him last year for Christmas. He was 3 1/2 and he loved the fun sound effects. The commander yells "ready, aim, fire" along with other military phrases as the tank lights up, shakes and makes blasting noises that anyboy would love to imitate.It is a favorite when any young boycomes to visit from age 2 to his 8 year old cousin! After almost a year of ownership the only thing we had break was one of the guns (probably got stepped on. 5 stars all the way because it is so popular and used so much around here. Note: we have only used this truck indoors.

Not Rugged At All
Bought as an Xmas gift, by June all the sections of the tracks
have separated. Tank is just a thing that makes noise now.
No idea how to repair the treads, won't move without them. ... Read more

Oh, you HAVE to buy Diesel!

Good addtion to the Thomas collection
My sons are bonkers about Thomas.They want all the trains but you have to be careful.Some trains are introduced on the show and only used once or twice.Others are more visible.

Skarloey is a fantastic train purchase because he is very good looking.The kids love his red coat.He also is smaller, so he is priced right.This is not a $20 train.And, as I mentioned before, the show uses Skarloey enough that your kids will get to see him in the show and on the DVDs.

He of course is not a main character like James, Thomas, Percy or Gordon, but once your kids get those guys, you start to wonder which characters to get next.Skarloey is an awesome choice.

Also, we find the smaller trains that have 3 wheels on each side (rather than 2) hug the tracks best.Skarloey never comes off the track.That makes him more fun to play with.

Skarloey doesn't seem old in person
In the stories Skarloey is a older engine whose parts get worn and he has to go to the works. His friend Rhenas is also old but they are both very useful. Just becasue he's old in the stories doesn't mean he has to be old with the wooden railway. A great buy and he's very durable also.

love it but disappointed
My daughters both love this doll.They want Santa to bring another one.Unfortunately, my problem is with her hair.Her hair became matted with only a few hours of play.If we try to use the comb that came with it then the hair comes out.I would be sure Santa brought another one if the hair were different.

Its fun..

favorite toy!
This was our daughter's favorite toy ever since she was about 3-4 months old. She is now 9 months and still enjoys it. She bangs on it all day long. Her entire little body would start to jump up and down when she would see it on the floor!

Musical fun, builds motor skills
My kids really enjoy music, and both can play with this toy. BARRELS of Fun!
William was overjoyed to receive the Barrel Loader along with his train set.In my opinion, this piece is one of the most versatile destinations in the Thomas & Friends line.It can be expensive to add new destinations to an existing set, as the new piece often requires additional track, or a new layout all together.Most destinations come with track that is attached to the building, and is designed to substitute a straight piece of track.The Barrel Loader doesn't have any attached track, so it can be placed anywhere in a set.It can be set along side 3", 4", 6", or 8" Straight Track.I see this as an advantage over other destinations.

In addition, the Barrel Loader requires a bit more hand-eye coordination then some of the other destinations.Simply lifting the lever isn't enough to load the barrels.One must finesse the lever to get the best results.Too much gusto and the barrels fly off the building, not enough, and they don't load.I like this aspect of the toy for its developmental qualities.

I am delighted that the Barrel Loader entertains my son, and I recommend it to all engine enthusiasts.

Good action addition
The barrel loader is a good action addition to a Thomas layout. It is movable and holds up well. Curious that they include three barrels when the car can only hold two. In addition, I bought a car with red barrels on it to add to the fun. My son now enjoys loading these items onto his Thomas train. Good addition, though like most other Thomas items, it is priced a bit.

Despite his rather pugilistic moniker, this little boxer is anything but combative. In fact, his sad expression indicates that he's really a lover and not a fighter. He's a Toys "R" Us Exclusive from Animal Alley and features a tan coat, a white belly and paws, and a tan-and-black face. He is set in a standing position, but since he's built to be soft he probably can't stand on his own. Perfect imitation
Good job Animal Alley!You captured the Boxer's charm and puppy-like looks perfectly!I love the way you emphasized the Boxer's playful, friendly side instead of the ferocious side.They really are just oversized puppies.
This Boxer's sad eyes and slightly wrinkled forehead are wonderful, and I love the way you gave the Boxer drop ears.The look so much cuter that way.

IT SUCKED

Well, Captian Picard just wouldn't have liked this one. No Klingons, Romulans, Vulcans or even Q. No fun at all. Once we realized we couldn't get enough dilithum to fire off the warp core, we just strapped on a Cox .049 engine, and let her rip! It flew pretty good until that big pine tree. Seems those warp nacells just ain't made for violent impacts. The saucer section just didn't hold up too well, either. We're still finding pieces of it in the yard a month later. We think they should have included Dr. Crusher for all the injuries that we ended up with. Yes indeed, today was a good day to die!!!

I'm very pleased with mine.
First of all, the model in the picture on this site is not assembled correctly- the two engines (nacelles) are actually a bit longer and have rounded ends.

The finished Enterprise has a nice weight to it and is fun to fly around.It would have been nice if it was easier to separate the saucer from the main ship (like in the show), but I'm guessing that wasn't possible for structural integrity reasons (the saucer is heavy).But overall, it looks surprisingly good.In addition to the section that holds the nacelles being smooth, there is a specialized bridge section which is also smooth and balances the smooth/blocky aesthetic.My only complaint might be that the underside lacks detail compared to the top (a frequent complaint of mine for Lego, i.e. Millennium Falcon, great detail up top, nothing underneath).

I like the Captain Picard figure included.The head sculpt looks pretty close to the character, who is bald.I think it's better that he has a smooth head rather than having a connector on the top (Lego characters look great with hair or hats, no so good bald - look at the NBA figures).The weapon looks very much like the phaser used in the show - much better than the guns that Lego gives to the Star Wars characters.

As for play value, the scale is not right for this to be a "play set" - it would have to be massive to have any meaningful interior play areas - and which ones would be included?The stories on the show take place all over the ship, so even if there was a bridge and engine room interiors, it would still be lacking- if the ship was to scale for a standard Megablock/Lego figure, the ship would have to be the size of a house - simply not possible.

The saucer section is relatively complicated to build - this is not a set for younger kids.But for teenage and (more likely) adult fans of Star Trek and Lego/Mega blocks, this is a nice set.

Going through with this charade
I got this for an early Christmas present from a fellow geekin' fanboy, and I decided to make the most of it (heh) by building it whilst watchin' my fave NextGen cliffhanger, "The Best of Both Worlds". When I had completed my task, I found the finished product pretty decent looking, like a kit model complete with display stand... only blockier. Well, except for the special bridge and aft nacelle strut pieces, whose more-rounded and curvilinear appearance clashed quite a bit with the rest of the vessel. Personally, I feel Mega Bloks should've made them look as "blocky" as the rest of the ship so they'd blend in better...

Another interesting and weird mix of angular and "natural" is the Captain Picard mini-figure. While his body is shaped pretty much in the same way as your basic Lego mini-figure, his head (which is ludicrously large in relation to his body) and phaser weapon possess that "real-world" look. Like the ship, I would have preferred they made l'il Jean-Luc completely "blocky", like what Lego did with the mini-figs in their Star Wars & Harry Potter sets.

Another problem I have with this vessel is its less-than-stellar (heh) play value. With the Star Wars Lego sets, you get a playset as well as a model vehicle, (a wonderful example of this "display-`n'-play" duality is Lego's Millenium Falcon toy; check it out at www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0001CU1HY/qid=1102994485/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl21/104-0299549-1691908?v=glance&s=toys&n=507846) giving the line the kind of playability and interactivity that this glorified model lacks. In other words: while the Mega Bloks NextGen Enterprise might cool to look at, the Lego Star Wars vehicles are both cool to look at AND cool to play with. `Course, if an eye-catching conversation piece is all you're looking for, this could very well fill the bill for ya...

My ratings breakdowns:

FUN: Three stars, for reasons stated above.

DURABILITY: Four stars. One thing I like about Mega Bloks is that they tend to hold together quite well, even better than Legos do. BTW Mega Bloks and Legos are compatible with each other. Both brands are compatible with Best-Lock blocks, too.

EDUCATIONAL: I always have a tough time figurin' the "educational" part out when it comes to these building toys, so I'll just go down the middle of the road and give this three stars.

great toy
I was worried that I had spent too much until my 3 year old played with it over and over.Yes, I agree you have to be careful taking the pieces out the first time, but after that it is sturdy.

What a life saver this toy was!!
I bought this for my just turned three year old girl.The two of us took a 10 hour car drive with this as a brand new car toy.She spent 8 of 10 hours playing with it on the drive down.She played with it some everyday during a confernece I was attending with her in tow.She spent 6 of 10 hours playing with it on the way home a week later.She would have played with it longer had the daylight lasted longer.It saved our sanity!!

My only complaint is the magnetic pieces were easy to tear when punching them out of their original magnetic sheet.Take care and this shouldn't be a problem. ... Read more

Very small set
Our 8-year-old son wanted space stuff for Christmas and this was about the only set we could find. I couldn't tell by the picture how big the figures, vehicles, etc. were and the other reviews were not really very helpful since they were mainly complaining that the set was not meant for small children.

The set is actually very small. It is the equivalent to something you could find in a dollar store, but with more stuff and a nice storage box. If I had to guess how much the set cost I would say no more than $8...I paid $15.

On the plus side I was able to fulfill my son's wish to get astronauts and space vehicles for Christmas, although it was not exactly what we had in mind.

I AGREE
Having young children myself, please be careful in purchasing items for young children.If the manufacturer states the age is 6, don't buy this just because your child lives space.Buy a product more age appropriate for him or her.Also, don't rush it, they grow up fast enough :)

Hours of entertainment.
First of all, I'd like to say that the 1 star review on this item below is completely unfair. The deal is I bought this bowling set for the dorm hallway, and I can't begin to tell how much entertainment it has provided. Believe it or not, the quality of the set is pretty high. I mean it definitely isn't made of plexy glass, but it has survived 2 semesters of wear and tear from college students, and the set is still complete and in fine form. Besides, of course, wind will blow the pins down; they are made of plastic not metal. Who bowls outside anyhow? The truth of the matter is for the price of this set you can't go wrong.

You get what you pay for...
We purchased this set and were very disappointed with it. The bowling set is extremely cheap and will fall down with the slightest breeze (very frustrating for kids and parents to try to keep up). The set was returned the follwing morning and new set purchased with weights in each pin... you get what you pay for with this item.

Fun while it lasted
The pins are very lightweight, which makes them easy to knock down, but difficult to set up (especially outside on a windy day) and very, very easy to smash. Lots of Fun
Highly recommended. Nice detail. Can also be used for Jello, Pudding and Chocolate as well. Makes for some nice quality time with your kids and children or adults who like dinosaurs will especially enjoy this. The price is right and the quality is good so it can be used over and over again.

School Project
Excellent school project!We purchased the Velociraptor kit for our 8 year old daughter not knowing what to expect. Afterinspecting the contents my wife came up with the clever idea of pouring melted chocolate chips it into the dinosaur molds, instead of using the plaster mix that came with the kit. We experimented with white chocolate chips and created realistic looking dinosaur bones! We buried these edible bones in ground up Oreo Cookies.
