1-0 out of 5 stars Not up to Disney standards
We received this toy as a gift for my 4 year old.It says 4-9 year old recommended but most of the functionality is for minimum 7 year old readers. The drawer did not open until I pried it open with a screwdriver (almost breaking it.)The paper money ripped as I tried to separate it from the package. The calculator function would not make sense to anyone under 9 years old. You need to press the buttons in a specific order to make the calculator work properly otherwise you just end up with a lot of ERROR messages on the display. We have another electronic cash register that I paid (...) for at a dollar store that makes a lot more sense for this age range.

2-0 out of 5 stars The quality is very disappointing.
My 3 1/2 year old daughter loves to play with this register, but often gets frustrated because the drawer doesn't work right and the screen only works sometimes.

This was an expensive toy and I wish I had read the reviews before I bought it.I plan on writing the company and complaining.Hopefully other shoppers will avoid the problems I (and the other buyers) have encountered.

1-0 out of 5 stars JUNK!
My daughter was so excited to buy this with her Christmas money and ended up disappointed and frustrated when we got it home and it wouldn't work right out of the box.The drawer won't open, there was very little money. The paper money ripped when we took it out of the box because it was stuck to the box w/rubber cement. It's heading back to the store tonight!Biggest piece of junk we've spent $22 on! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars MLB Superstars Baseball Game
My wife and I purchased this game to play with our nephews and nieces when they visit. The kids have enjoyed it very much, and I like it a lot better than some of the other children's games because of the baseball references. It's been a lot of fun for all of us to play.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Kids!
This game is educational fun for youngsters. It teaches them about primary colors and numbers, and introduces them to some of the basic terms of baseball (doubles, home runs, etc.).They also learn the names of today's baseball stars.Since there is no strategy involved, youngsters have as much opportunity to win as do adults playing against them.I also appreciate that the game parts are quite sturdy, and can easily be cleaned when the inevitable peanut butter or jelly gets on them.I highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quick, fun game for 4-7 age group
I purchased the game for my son's 4th birthday and he likes it very much. It's a simple game (as it should be for 4 year olds). Basically, it's a race around the bases. It plays quickly so hedoesn't lose interest before it's over - in fact we usually have to play twice. The board and game pieces are very bright with the primary color scheme that appeals to 4 year olds.

Most importantly, he is learning baseball terms and players. For his birthday I took him to his first game (Expos at the Phillies). We played the APBA game the next day and when he drew the Scott Rolen card, I pointed out we had seen Rolen play. Now every time he draws Rolen or Vladimir Guerrero, he points out that we saw them in the game we went to. He can even pronounce "Nomar Garciaparra"!

Good job by APBA. I think the game is well designed for the 4-7 age group. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars INUYASHA!!!
O.K to start off I'm like the biggest Inuyasha fan I have all the DVDS and have the plush.. And I have this game and the Cursed mask game.. I have anything I can get my hands a hold of of Inuyasha. This is a GREAT game!

4-0 out of 5 stars Mega-ultra-awesome for mega-ultra-nerds.
Inuyasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale is a wonderful game for the InuYasha fan. It's great because if you are a huge fan of the show, it expands the show into another medium in which you become the characters.A warning though, if you don't know what InuYasha is or are mildly interested in the show, do NOT buy this game because you will not enjoy it.
The graphics are surprisingly great for a playstation game.Good detail and the characters look like themselves.Good use of shadow. The graphics don't compare to playstation two, but for playstation, they are great.
On the show one can only watch the characters develop and battle but in this game, you are the characters. You have to earn characters by progressing in the games, but after one has mastered the game you can play InuYasha, Kagome, Miroku, Shippo, Sango, Sesshomaru, Kagura, Totosai, Naraku, and demon InuYasha.I don't believe I left anyone out.
The game has a loose story that isn't in sync with the show, but it is close. There is a story and some animated sequences any die-hard InuYasha fan should see.
There are some drawbacks to the game, though. It is incredibly short and takes less than a day to get all the characters and everything, if you have a four or five hour block to play it.The game also is in Japanese(spoken) but is written in English, some anime fans prefer Japanese, but I do not.It has nothing to do with my attention span or anything, I have come to associate the American voice-over artists with the characters. The game also only has one save slot, so no more than one can save.
I sound rather enthusiastic about this game mostly because I enjoy InuYasha quite a bit.If you have no idea what InuYasha is, don't bother playing this game, because it will be of no value to you, I can not stress that enough.

4-0 out of 5 stars awesome!
this game rocks!mainly cause it is in Japanese and they swear a lot so it is very funny listening to them swearing in a language i don't even know.and in case u were wondering how i know they r swearing when i don't even speak Japanese...it's cause there r subtitles.i can't wait for the next game for PS2 cause i heard it's in Japanese too!yay!!! :) i'm so happy!LOL!

When young children are pretending to do the work of adults, they like to use work vehicles that have as many realistic features aspossible. Equipped with a working front loader and backhoe, thiscolorful tractor from Roadmax offers the industrious toddler amultifunctional vehicle that looks just like the full-size version theymight see working along the highway. Made of sturdy plastic in brightprimary colors, the tractor measures approximately 26 inches long whenboth the front loader and backhoe are fully extended. Both buckets canbe used to dig and scoop, and once they are raised you can lock them inplace to carry dirt, rocks, or toys across the back yard or playroom. The tractor's backhoe swivels up to 360 degrees and the front cab isbig enough to hold an action figure (sold separately). 3-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun but average quality

The puzzle is designed somewhat difficult but not to the degree that discourages my 3 years old daughter to ensemble them. The most difficult part is the two big dinosaurs' bodies have similar patterns, thus she is a bit frustrated sometime but always comes back and finishes them. The only problem I have is its quality. There are many pieces are slightly banned. Based upon all the puzzles we bought, I think Melissa & Doug has better quality. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This toy Rocks
This toy blows all the other subs out of the water, when i first got it for my birthday i put the batteries in and bam it already worked. Although it needs to be charged for 2 hours it is real fun to drive around the pool, aquarium, or pond. WARNING (do not user in salt water!)

4-0 out of 5 stars the next ROUV
THis is a very good RC sub. i have used it in my aquarium where it manuevers freely in the small environment. the only problem is that it is hard to manuver it in moving water such as a pool.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is great!
I got this submarine for Christmas and I was so excited about it. I drove it around in the bathtub with the lights in the bathroom off and the little submarine lit up the whole bathtub! This isn't a very fast sub, but it is still really fun! If you have a pool this would be a great toy because of how far down it can go and still be in range of the transmitter. I have had no problems with this sub and it is just so fun to relax and control a little sub around in my fishtank with all the lights off. The submarine is very manuaverable and responsive to the transmitter. You only have to charge the submarine for 2 hours instead of most RC toys having to be charged for 4 hours. Megatech says it only gets 15 minutes of battery life but it really has a battery life of about 25 minutes. The one thing that is less than desirable is that when the submarine gets old and will not hold a charge anymore, you can't just buy a new battery because the battery is inside the Sub. For this reason do not overcharge it. But otherwise this is very fun and I would definitly recommend it. ... Read more

This board game, which can be played at four different levelsof complexity, is a good way to introduce young kids to prehistoriclife on earth. It's played a bit like Candyland: You roll a die andmove your fossil playing piece over colored spaces. Progress around theboard coincides with the extraordinary evolution of dinosaurs thatroamed the planet as far back as 570 million years ago. As the animalsadapt and change, players can land on squares that advance their path("Develop lungs. Swim ahead three spaces.") or hold them back ("Bittenby Plesiosaurus. Paddle back two spaces."). When you land on acreature, collect the matching creature cutout and place it on itsskeleton on your side of the board. The winning player is the first tocollect all nine of his or her allotted cutouts. (In more advancedlevels of the game, players have to answer questions about the dinosaurbefore collecting the cutout.) --Tom Keogh ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great intro to science, history, and dinosaurs
We first saw this game at the NAGC (National Assoc for Gifted Children) conference this year and were intrigued. Our son is 4 and loves to play the game. We have all learned so much about the different eras and the history of the dinosaurs. Definitely recommended for children interested in science and/or dinosaurs. The different levels of questions allow the game to grow with the child.

4-0 out of 5 stars This game is cool!
By combining a puzzle with a game we found this to be really fun to play.My kids wanted to play it again and were thrilled to be able to answer more questions the more they played. My youngest childeven caught me frombehind and ended up beating me!The reading, web site and museum list inthe instructions was a great added bonus.I would recommend this for anyone who likes dinosaurs.

2-0 out of 5 stars Could be fun if it wasn't so long!
I bought this for my daughter (age 4) for Christmas, and she was thrilled to be getting her own game, and about dinosaurs, no less!Unfortunately her enthusiasm (and mine, my almost 6 year old son's, my husband's, and mymother-in-law's) quickly died out as we played. It is advertised assimilar to Candyland, which it is.But unlike Candyland, there are veryfew ways to change the order of the players--once someone gets out infront, they stay there.Even playing at Level 1, when you don't have toanswer the questions, it is just too long. And as for thequestions...well, there is one question card for each area on the board. On the card is a question for each color on the die.So if everyone rollsthe same color (which did happen when we played), then everyone gets thesame question. So basically, we are pretty disappointed with the game. The best part about it seems to be fitting the dinosaur puzzle pieces intoeach side of the board. ... Read more

Much more fun than the plain crossover bridge of the simplest Thomas sets, this lifting bridgehas solid "brick" pilings, green plastic "steel beam" bridge railings, and a simple winding mechanism(driven by a hidden string pulley) for raising the bridge deck.Since a section of rail line goes underneath, this can't be for allowing the passage of tall-masted yachts, but it would be ideal if, say, Percy weretowing a freight car containing an upended dog biscuit. It also has a control tower and two swinging stop sign barriers. --Richard Farr ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Our first building
I have to say that this is one of those products that if you needed two, even though it's expensive, I'd spend the money again. After having purchased this item, I have bought my son 5 more buildings from the Thomas Wooden Railway System.

This bridge is great and with only two exceptions is perfect.

The first exception is that the little stop barriers come off much too easy and though this isn't a problem for my son, I regularly find them in my 11 month old daughters mouth.

The second drawback is that the track located under the bridge is of an extremely unusual length. I have put a tremendous effort into finding the right combination of tracks to make it so that I can have a nice clean, equal length track matching it elsewhere, but it doesn't seem possible. This isn't a big problem since there is some flexibility in the tracks, but it wouldn't have been nicer if they added a little in the length to make it more like the rest of the tracks.

I would of course not complain about this, but I hope that the manufacturer reads these reviews for feedback before designing other components.

The bridge itself is fabulous. I feel that since the knob which raising and lowers the bridge is quite tight, it has helped my son form motor better motor skills. The detail on the building is excellent, quality design and attention to detail is what makes me love the Thomas series more than Brio and others.

If you're looking for a good first building, this is a great one. I have to say that it has been fabulous for me and my son. Well with the exception that after purchasing the bridge, I had to buy a lot more track to make it fit and explain to my patient wife that "We need it dear... Really :)"

5-0 out of 5 stars Hours of Fun
I was a bit taken back by the price, but the durability that goes along with these products is worth it.I gave this to my two year-old-son and he has been playing with it non-stop.The crank is easy to use, even for your toddler.Worthy investment.

5-0 out of 5 stars My child loves this but...
My four year old daughter particularly wanted this Thomas bridge because of its close resemblance to some of the bridges in the videos (unlike some of the new buildings). It is a particularly attractive addition to her set, but (and I regret to complain about a toy brand that has given my child so many hours of intensive play), after only a few uses the string that lifts the bridge is already giving way, causing the drawbridge to slip down after it's been raised. My child still plays with it, and always adds it to her latest set-ups, but the bridge stays down a lot nowadays out of frustration with this slipping.

Also, parents should note the bridge's lower course track connections are on both sides "female" - you may wish to buy an additional "male" track adapter pack if you (ie, your child) still can't resist this one, for ease of construction. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars great buy due to its size and small price tag
Overall the steam locomotive is a great model. It is huge but still affordable. However, it is not as impressive as some other models by Mega Bloks. The submarine, space shuttle, aircraft carrier, tank and race truck are even better.

2-0 out of 5 stars STEAM ME UP, SCOTTY
Well, we really did it this time. After the build (which was less than stellar), we proceeded to fill the boiler and fire it up. After about fifteen minutes, not only did all the water leak out of the boiler, but the entire locomotive caught fire, and burned to the ground. ....and we all wanted a ride, too. What a disappointment. Next time, maybe we'll try Amtrak.

Made of black and gray nylon, the "Space Dome" is a somewhat intimidating object that all but screams, "No Adults Allowed--Especially Mothers." If there ever is to be a tent in space, this is it. This generously sized tent has a rip-resistant floor and a perfectly sized hole in which to insert a 5-foot-long pop-up tunnel (sold separately by Pacific Play). All accessories--storage bags, stakes, window ties, and Velcro fastener--are well made. This thing is not going to fall apart on you after one use. It'll last outdoor season after outdoor season, and even then it won't seem right to throw it away. 4-0 out of 5 stars My son loved it!
My son loved this tent. I was able to put it together with relative ease. It has plenty of space inside and doesn't take up too much space. (He had it set up in his room) It is very durable. There were a dozen kids going in and out of the thing for months. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lot's of fun when you get the other pieces (tunnel)
This tent is fun, especially for us overgrown kids when we can sneak in. Mommy & daddy will fit easily and can even enter through the round openings on the side.If you get the tent, also buy at least one tunnel (ASIN: B00000IURY). Yes together they will take a good chunk of your family room, but the combo is what makes this a true fort.Might save you a trip to Chuck-e-Cheese.The tent is nice because it gives the little ones their own space to chill out in.The tent is pretty easy to put together as long as you read the very short one page instructions first. Also make sure you keep anything sharp away from the tent (like toys under the floor).Although this tent won't fall apart with regular use, it does warn against sharp objects.

It's too bad they Pacific didn't make their tents with fabric that was just one grade better.Still the nylon used in this is thicker than what you can generally buy in stores, and the seams appear to be durable. You can take it outside, although right now it's way too cold to try.I can't wait until spring!

I'm putting the other accessory tunnels (ASIN: B00005KGOJ) (ASIN: B000067817) on our wish list! Also the tent that is still available is this one (ASIN: B00000IUX9).It looks like the same design only more colorful. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Terrence the Tractor - great little guy
Terrence is probably not made for the track - since he is a tractor and is meant to be used in fields, or for plowing snow. That said, this little guy goes about everywhere in our house and we haven't had any trouble with the tire treads. If your child is prone to pick at such things like mine is, just to see if he can get them off, then I suggest maybe advising otherwise. My little one figured out how to get them off very quickly, but became aggravated that they were not on when he was "plowing the field."So, I put them back on and well, they haven't come off since.

Some neat role playing occurs with Terrence. He just opens new doors for working outside of the track and especially with all the new construction guys that have been introduced lately like Alfie and Jack.Terrence has a lot of fun in our house and he comes highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific Terrence!
My son is a huge fan of the Thomas & Friends diecast trains and building sets.Despite the fact he had amassed a large portion of these toys, an important character was missing from his collection: Terrence the Tractor.Of course, he was thrilled when this little vehicle showed up in his Easter basket.

No, Terrence is not a train, but one of the tractors that plows the fields on the Island of Sodor.Terrence is a wonderful character, with his bright orange coat of paint and happy face.He has one magnet on his back end, perfect for pulling trains (or having trains pull him).In all honesty, we have not had any problems with Terrence's treads coming off--they are designed to wrap tightly around the wheels when rolling, so no matter how hard my three-year-old tugs on them, they stay put.Terrence is also a very durable toy--my son has dropped him, stepped on him, ran him into the other trains, and Terrence shows no signs of wear, tear, split wood, or chipped paint. Finally, Terrence is small enough to fit easily in my son's hands during play, but can also be slipped into a coat pocket during a car trip.

All in all, Terrence is a terrific vehicle, and a perfect addition to a child's Thomas & Friends collection.

4-0 out of 5 stars He is not a train, he's a tractor
I have the new designed model and the treads don't come off.He is not a train and is not meant to run on the track, the road maybe, but more for "off-road".My son likes him, just get the newly designed type. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun!
My 2 year old daughter loves this truck. She pushes it around the house, pushes it down the Fisher Price garage ramp. Love it. Great toy.

4-0 out of 5 stars trucks!
My son is 1 and LOVES trucks. He just got this one for his birthday. We love the Little People and this one is very cute. My son loves to push it around and he likes to throw the "rocks" that come with it around the room! He doesn't know how to push down the man to hear the noises, but he likes it when I do it. This toy is still pretty new, but it seems like a durable toy. I don't know how educational it is, but we like it- lots of fun. ... Read more

When the kids aren't yet big enough for a real basketball hoop in the driveway--or you just wantportability--this plastic hoop set is the ideal solution. The gray plastic base, which can be weighted withsand or water, supports a black-and-purple pole, a gray backboard, and a red hoop made of white nylonmesh. The pole adjusts easily, in 1-foot increments, from 4 to 6 feet. Wheels on the bottom of the basemake it easy to tip and move around. The set features durable, all-plastic construction, and assembly is asnap. Just think: by about 2015, you may be screaming for your favorite team with greater animation thanever. --Richard Farr ... There are many wonderful modern Disney films that have come along in recent years, but many of us still have a warm place in our hearts for the classic. That's why it's so nice to see Cinderella take her rightful place on present-day toy shelves. She's ready for the ball in her blue satiny dress with matching shoes, and her golden locks can be primped to perfection with the included hairbrush. Cinderella stands 16 inches tall and is accessorized with a big birthday cake that hides a special surprise: lift it up and find one of the charming little mice from the movie. --John Moe ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great buy, but please don't put it in WATER!!!
For the person that mentioned that their kid put the doll in the tub, there are certain dolls that cannot be immersed in water. Overall this doll is to me is a excellent buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars My 3 year old loves it, BUT...
I must warn you of some of the drawbacks. The doll's hair is made out of something that isn't combable. The hair is now a big ball of fuzz, which is impossible to comb or brush. After my daughter took this doll into the bathtub, it filled up with water. In order to get the water out, I had to remove one of the legs.Getting the leg back on was a real challenge, to say the least.Even after I removed the doll's limb, there was still water trapped inside her unremovable arms, head, and in her other leg.I imagine there must be a little mold inside the doll, by now, as a result of that trapped water. The other problem with this doll is that her legs are extemely difficult to bend.Whenever my daughter wants to make this doll sit down, I've got to help by bending the legs for her. Then, I'm inevitably called upon to straighten them out. In spite of these drawbacks with the legs, the trapped water, and the bad hair, my daughter still adores this doll and plays with her everyday. We've had the doll for 4 months already. Of course, my daughter is going through a big time Cinderella phase.Anything that is even remotely Cinderella, or Cinderella-like, is cherished and played with. These days, you could give my daughter a stick, put a light blue dress on it and call it Cinderella, and she'd be thrilled by it.I have a feeling that if this doll wasn't a Cinderella doll, and just an ordinary, no-name doll with these problems, she might not have been as interested.Best wishes!

Every child seems to go through a dinosaur phase, and this kit is perfect for those who are intensely curious about digging up bones and being a scientist who studies dinosaurs. An adult will likely need to help with just about every part of this process, from casting the 18 pieces (making sure to expel any air bubbles) to painting them to gluing magnets on the back. Obviously, assembly is only one part of this endeavor. An 11-page instruction booklet thoroughly answers the "why "questions, such as: Why are there holes in the skull? Why is the neck so short? Why do we call this dino "lizard-hipped"? Satisfaction comes when the job is done and the skeleton can be displayed on magnetic surfaces. The kit is designed to complement the Eyewitness book Dinosaur. --Sally James ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Class Project
An excellent project for your child's school report. We purchased the Velociraptor kit for our 8 year old daughter not knowing what to expect. After opening the package my wife came up with a clever idea of pouring melted chocolate chips it into the dinosaur molds, instead of using the plaster mix.We experimented with white chocolate chips and created realistic looking dinosaur bones! We buried these edible bones in ground up Oreo Cookies. What a thrill to see our daughter's 2nd grade class excavate these delectible prehistoric fossils!

5-0 out of 5 stars Need to buy one for dad, too!!!
I BOUGHT THIS FOR MY EIGHT YEAR OLD FOR CHRISTMAS WITH A BUNCH OF THE "WHATS POPULAR NOW" TOYS. THIS BY FAR IS THE TOY THAT HAS KEPT HIS ATTENTION FOR MORE THAN A FEW MINUTES. MORE LIKE NEARLY 2 HOURS THE FIRST TIME WE TOOK IT OUT. IT ALSO KEPT MY 6 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND THE EVERY ADVENTEROUS 4 YEAR OLD BUSY. I HAD TO KEEP DAD FROM DIGGING AND DUSTING OR ELSE THE KIDS WOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN A TURN. AFTER FINDING THREE BONES - I TOLD THEM IT WAS TIME TO PUT IT AWAY AND SAVE IT FOR ANOTHER DAY. MY HUSBAND WOULDN'T QUIT FOR ANOTHER 30 MINUTES UNTIL THEY HAD FOUND AND UNEARTHED ONE MORE BONE. THEY HAVE MANY HOURS OF FUN LEFT WHICH IN RETURN WILL GIVE THEM AN ADDED BONUS--NOT ONLY ARE THEY HAVING FUN; BUT ARE LEARNING AT THE SAME TIME!! ONE CONSIDERATION IS THAT IT DOES SAY FOR AGES 8 AND ABOVE, BUT MY 4 YEAR OLD HAD HIS SUN GLASSES ON AND MANAGED QUITE WELL. HIS ONLY PROBLEM WAS GETTING DAD OUT OF THE WAY!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Now we are learning the names of the bones!
My son (now almost 6) has been a dinosaur fanantic since the age of 2.He knows the names, where they lived, what they ate...you name it, he knows it!Or so we thought, until he got this for Christmas! After having agreat time making and painting the "fossil" he read in the manualthat each bone has it's own name--so now we're learning those as well! The only problem we have with it is when the smaller pieces get dropped ona hard surface they tend to break pretty easily. They are, however, alsofixed easily with a dab of super glue. ...
