5-0 out of 5 stars Finally a modest Barbie
I have two daughters,a 6 year old and a 4 year old.It has been a struggle finding dolls they can play with that are beautiful, but still modest in their clothing and looks. My girls love this doll and I'm excited to give them a role model that I agree with.As for the old concern of the Barbies' figure being unrealistic, I grew up playing with Barbies and still gained a realistic understanding that a Barbies' figure is unrealistic. It's a toy.Children understand that if the parents explain it to them.

4-0 out of 5 stars Lovely!
My three year old daughter loves this barbie doll. She has Erika also and loves it too. She plays with these more than her other barbies probably because they sing and she pretends they are sisters. I help her maintain her barbies though; she can be a little rough. Over all good by for barbie fans.

4-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Barbie Doll
I bought this doll as a gift and was very happy when she arrived.

She is even prettier than in the picture and very well made. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Guess what! Dora the Explorer has jumped on the royal bandwagon! This intrepid explorer is now a fairy tale princess with magical hair that grows when the jewel in her crown is pressed with a wand. Dora talks and sings, too, in both English and Spanish: "Vamanos! Let's go to fairytale land! Will you brush my hair?" The 14-inch-tall plastic doll is not designed to be cuddled so much as played with and groomed. She is attired in a satiny yellow gown trimmed in pink and purple, and has a brush, barrettes, and magic wand. The magical tresses emerging from the hair-growing tube are quite realistic, although grownups, at least, might be a little unnerved at the sleek brown hair oozing in and out of Dora's head. Still, children are experts at suspending disbelief and accepting weirdness in the world, so they probably won't mind a bit. Four AA batteries required (included). --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not as happy as I thought!!!!
We bought this for our daughter Brittney (39 months), she wanted it so bad, then after a few days she just stopped playing with it. I don't think she's into the hair brushing and that sort of play just yet. She still loves dora's house, and her other dora dolls which include star catching dora, cowboy dora, buenas noched dora, magic surprise dora and some other ones.

5-0 out of 5 stars A review for my Sister
The first day my sister ever saw this item, she wanted it for her birthday, but she got it for Christmas. Thanks to our best friend, Pat, now living at Bethel Retirement Home. When my sister got this, she thought that Dora looked cute in the box. My sister really likes the song that Dora sings. One time, my sister combed Dora's hair too much and too hard. Then it didn't work. My father fixed it on the day he got batteries for my MindMania Spelling Clip. Last, my sister doesn't play with Dora oftenly. Dora uses 4 "AA" batteries (included.)- Cristian and Alejandra Mojica.

4-0 out of 5 stars 3 yr old likes maybe too much
Dora is still doing okay considering what she has been through since Christmas. Her pretty hair do was taken out of its rubber bands fairly quickly. She has gotten an unrequested hair cut, luckly not much was cut because I caught my daughter in the act.She gets played with somewhat often even by visiting children.I do sometimes have to take Dora away when the kids start fighting over her.She doesn't look as good as new anymore, but well loved. ... Serafina, the pampered snowy-white companion of Princess Anneliese, certainly does not lack self-esteem. This chatty kitty burbles over with more than 75 one-liners, including, I am quite the talented kitty, and I love looking pretty. Squeeze her paw, stroke her back, kiss her nose, and Serafina responds with words, songs, purrs, head tosses, tail wags, and, of course, meows. Additionally, when her human friends set up Serafina's jewelry box next to a CD player and insert Serafina's Adventure (included), signals from the CD and jewelry box cause Serafina to do her feline thing! She'll also respond to the Barbie as The Princess and the Pauper and other Serafina DVDs and videos. Measuring a good 22 inches from pink-tipped ears to long fluffy tail, Serafina has blue eyes, a gem-studded crown, and a matching heart-shaped locket, as well as a brush to keep that lush pelt sleek and smooth. Her jewelry box requires one 9-volt battery (not included), and Kitty herself requires three AA batteries (Try Me batteries included, but you'll need fresh ones). --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Daughter loves it!
My 5 1/2 year old daughter went on and on and on about wanting this item for Christmas. So, her Grandma and Grandpa bought it for her. She was THRILLED!!! She absolutley LOVES this cat. She pets her, carries her around, and combs her fur. My daughter LOVES watching the "Princess and the Pauper" DVD with Serafina. It does run through quite a few batteries, but even when the batteries have died, my daughter STILL plays/interacts with her. This is one of her favorite toys!

3-0 out of 5 stars Great toy for $20.00, but I wouldn't pay more
I bought Serafina for my 6 year old daughter at a Wal-Mart store for $19.88 (the website says $27.88).At $20.00, I can say that it was a good buy. Some stores are charging $30 or $40 and I wouldn't recommend paying that much for it.

Pros:Moves, talks, and purrs when you interact with it.Works alone or with the included CD and the movie.

Cons:It sounds a little too mechanical when it moves and the sounds are a little on the loud side.It sheds white fur a little when brushed and it sounds demonic when the batteries are almost dead.

Overall, I would say that it's worth $20, but I would say they could have made the mechanics run more silently.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cute toy
We got this toy for our daughter's 4th birthday. She wanted a real cat and this was our solution to not going to the pet store. She LOVES it. We didn't buy it for educational purpose's, we got it just for the fun. She doesnt let it outta her sight for long. Her 2 year old sister also enjoys trying to steal it away from her. It is a battery monster, and it definately does sound like a demon when the batteries are running low which is kinda creepy. So we just turn it off when we are needing to put new one's in. The jewelry box hasnt yet worked, but peyton our 4 year old doesnt know that, she pets it and play's with it enough that she gets plenty of interactiveness from it. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars 'The King' has broken his arm...
This is the 4th male doll we've owned from Mattel to have a broken arm. We've had three seperate Alan dolls from the Happy Family Collection with this problem.I must say that the company was very good in handling this, so I thought it must have been unique to the particular doll.My 8yr old then received King Dominick as a gift.Lo and behold, his arm was broken in no time at all, but unfortunately not before all of the packaging had been disposed of!So, let's see if I can exchange this with no box and no reciept.I'd like to say I'd never buy these again but the girls beg for them!
I,too, would have liked to see a seperate Julian doll.I have 4 girls close in age who like to play together so someone has to use the 'pretend' character- the Ken masquerading as Julian.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Ken Doll is U-G-L-Y
This is one of the ugliest dolls I have ever seen in my entire

life. His hair looks like a wig, and his face looks like a

monkey. He makes me sick.I really think this doll should be

taken off the market, as it is probably going to give some

small children nightmares.I hope I never have to look into

the face of this hideous doll again.Thanks.

In a fancy, stallion-drawn carriage, The Prince sits alone in his dashing uniform, waiting for his princess to appear on the horizon. How he'll choose among Disney's many maidens (or any maiden in the toy chest) is his horrible dilemma, but parents of doll-lovers will choose well by adding this set to the collection, if only for the prince's 17-inch long horse and carriage. The horse's long, pink-and-lavender mane and tail can be combed, and it wears a removable pink saddle and harness. The basket carriage has a sheer, glitter-covered canopy that can be raised or pushed back to thrill any Disney princess with a view of the stars. A diorama of a castle and forest at sunset is inside the box, for role-playing the prince's romantic encounters. Minor assembly required.Diane Beall ... Read more

There's a charming simplicity in this game for little ones who dream ofbeing a princess. Players move their pieces around the game board collectingplastic costume jewelry, such as rings, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. Thewinner of the game is the one who collects the crown and all the jewels thatmatch their playing color. That player is the princess who now turns over thespinner to reveal a mirror into which she can gaze at her royal self. Game playincludes the dreaded black ring, which no one wants but someone might get.Sticky jewels are included to decorate the jewelry box and the crown. For youngchildren with royal fantasies, Pretty Pretty Princess is pretty pretty good.--Lee Strucker ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This game is pretty pretty stupid.
What is this? There's no guns or explosions or anything. You don't even get to conquer people like in Risk and Risk is pretty pretty lame to begin with.

Besides, this game can only turn little kids into snobs. If you let them think they're princesses now they're just going to keep asking for things. All they want now is a little plastic crown but in ten years they're going to be asking for the keys to Daddy's BMW so they can go canoodle with their greasy sketchy teenage boyfriends behind the K-Mart.

Don't get your daughter a Pretty Pretty Princess.Get her a job.Then she'll learn something.

4-0 out of 5 stars Another Pretty Princess
We bought this doll primarily cause our baby's name is Jasmine and we wanted to save it for her for when she's older. Our 3 1/2 yr old daughter had other ideas! She has all 5 of the original (not color changing) toddler princess dolls, and wanted to play with this one too!! The little slippers were history relatively quick, but it's held up great, I agree with the 1st review regarding the color changes, you have to follow the instructions, and then it works fine. Her hair is gorgeous, and although matts up some after heavy play, all ya gotta do it wet it, and brush it, and it's fine. At least that's what I do! I think I have as much fun with their hair as my daughter's picking out the "Hairstyle" for their dolly! My 15m old now has to really learn how to steal it back from her sis!! Both girl's love the princess dolls and 3 1/2 yr old is now getting into having "tea parties" with them!! Even for collecting for a shelf, they are beautiful and durable dolls. When they're not playing with them, I put them up on a shelf in the girl's room, and they look awesome.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful doll
I have just recently purchased Little Jasmine.I must say that like Little Pocahontas, Jasmine is beautiful!! Her eyes are a pretty shade of brown, her hair is ebony and done in a pretty long ponytail with multiple rubber bands to keep the hair in place. Her outfit is the traditional Jasmine outfit that is glittery and a pretty shade of lilac.Jasmine comes with Raja, which is just too cute! There are plently of accesories for Jasmine and they are nice as well. The hair clips were a little tricky at first to put on, but once I just "opened" the clip everything stayed on fine.Jasmine has a headband that I don't recommend attempting to take off, but that is just me.Your child will still be able to comb and style Jasmine's hair with the headband on. Jasmine's hair is easy to comb and smooth. It hasn't knotted up, even after a rough "slumber party" with a three yr old!! Her color change effects are great too.I know some people have complained that the color doesn't last long enough, and that it is hard to get the color to change without using ice cubes.I have found this to be just the opposite for me.I read the instructions which say,
"PARENTS: PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING NOTICE TO INSURE OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE OF THE MAGICAL COLOR CHANGE FEATURE ON YOUR NEW "LITTLE PRINCESS" DOLL.
"IF THE COLOR CHANGE HIGHLIGHTS APPEAR ON YOUR "LITTLE PRINCESS" DOLL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE DOLL FROM THE PACKAGE, PLEASE PLACE YOUR FINGER OR A WARM, WET TOWEL ON THESE HIGHLIGHTS.lEAVE YOUR FINGER OR THE WARM TOWEL IN PLACE UNTIL THE COLOR CHANGE HIGHLIGHTS DISAPPEAR BEFORE GIVING THE DOLL TO YOUR CHILD.TO REVEAL THE COLOR CHANGE HIGHLIGHTS, SIMPLY FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS DETAILED ON THE ENCLOSED INSTRUCTION SHEET."
I think many parents must be over looking this step.I find the wet towel to work the best and haven't had any problems with the color changes.I live a very hot state, and the color lasts a reasonably long time.I don't expect it to last all day, or even for hours at a time.I think that is what makes the the doll extra fun, changing her color highlights over and over!! All in all Jasmine is well made, beautiful, and inspires your child to use her imagination. For this reason alone I think Jasmine is 5 stars all the way!I also suggest getting Little Pocahontas who is equally beautiful and durable!
I hope this review has helped you!

2-0 out of 5 stars Nice to look at, but....
only for a little while! As soon as we got her out of the box (and that took some patience!) she had issues. It doesnt colour change, unless you put an ice cube on her, and that gets old pretty fast.My daughter thought she was really pretty and wanted to sleep with her (we got the extra nightgown set too). Her hair got nappy that same night. She sure does look cute in the box, but that's about all the enjoyment we got out of her.My daughter put her in her toy box with all the rest of the stuff she never touches anymore. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Not up to Disney standards
We received this toy as a gift for my 4 year old.It says 4-9 year old recommended but most of the functionality is for minimum 7 year old readers. The drawer did not open until I pried it open with a screwdriver (almost breaking it.)The paper money ripped as I tried to separate it from the package. The calculator function would not make sense to anyone under 9 years old. You need to press the buttons in a specific order to make the calculator work properly otherwise you just end up with a lot of ERROR messages on the display. We have another electronic cash register that I paid (...) for at a dollar store that makes a lot more sense for this age range.

2-0 out of 5 stars The quality is very disappointing.
My 3 1/2 year old daughter loves to play with this register, but often gets frustrated because the drawer doesn't work right and the screen only works sometimes.

This was an expensive toy and I wish I had read the reviews before I bought it.I plan on writing the company and complaining.Hopefully other shoppers will avoid the problems I (and the other buyers) have encountered.

There are many wonderful modern Disney films that have come along in recent years, but many of us still have a warm place in our hearts for the classic. That's why it's so nice to see Cinderella take her rightful place on present-day toy shelves. She's ready for the ball in her blue satiny dress with matching shoes, and her golden locks can be primped to perfection with the included hairbrush. Cinderella stands 16 inches tall and is accessorized with a big birthday cake that hides a special surprise: lift it up and find one of the charming little mice from the movie. --John Moe ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great buy, but please don't put it in WATER!!!
For the person that mentioned that their kid put the doll in the tub, there are certain dolls that cannot be immersed in water. Overall this doll is to me is a excellent buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars My 3 year old loves it, BUT...
I must warn you of some of the drawbacks. The doll's hair is made out of something that isn't combable. The hair is now a big ball of fuzz, which is impossible to comb or brush. After my daughter took this doll into the bathtub, it filled up with water. In order to get the water out, I had to remove one of the legs.Getting the leg back on was a real challenge, to say the least.Even after I removed the doll's limb, there was still water trapped inside her unremovable arms, head, and in her other leg.I imagine there must be a little mold inside the doll, by now, as a result of that trapped water. The other problem with this doll is that her legs are extemely difficult to bend.Whenever my daughter wants to make this doll sit down, I've got to help by bending the legs for her. Then, I'm inevitably called upon to straighten them out. In spite of these drawbacks with the legs, the trapped water, and the bad hair, my daughter still adores this doll and plays with her everyday. We've had the doll for 4 months already. Of course, my daughter is going through a big time Cinderella phase.Anything that is even remotely Cinderella, or Cinderella-like, is cherished and played with. These days, you could give my daughter a stick, put a light blue dress on it and call it Cinderella, and she'd be thrilled by it.I have a feeling that if this doll wasn't a Cinderella doll, and just an ordinary, no-name doll with these problems, she might not have been as interested.Best wishes!

Belle, the brainy ingénue of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, is the princess of choice for film fans who prefer a heroine with a strong academic pedigree. And besides being a big fan of literature, she showed plenty of moxie standing up for her father and showing a certain brutish hero that he really wasn’t as scary as he thought. Here, Belle is done up in baby form, with a pony shaped rattle, a hairbrush, and a gold baby bottle. And, to show just how advanced a child she truly is, she even holds a small book. Belle is dressed in a yellow satiny dress with little baby booties and also comes with a one-piece yellow sleeper. Her hair is auburn colored and she has bright green eyes. It’s a bit strange, perhaps, to see a grown-up movie character in baby form but it’s also a unique and creative addition to the Disney lineup. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

okay this doll looks like a country hill billy but in person she is okay

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy for play in and out of the bathtub!
My daughter is 6 and has truly enjoyed these dolls...she also has Color-change Mulan. I read another review where the mom complained of using an ice cube to make the 'tattoos' reveal. We tried the same and it worked great! Whenever my daughter takes a bath, I just put an ice cube in the little cup that come with the doll and it makes the water col enough for the tattoos to appear. Not a problem. And her hair hasn't became unmanageable. 5 stars for the color change dolls!

3-0 out of 5 stars Original is nicer
The original Toddler Princess Ariel is nicer than this one, it seems to me, that they "cheapened her up" for this doll. I mean, yea, she's still an Ariel doll, but the whole color change thing is really ugly. Especially the design on her face, it just looks awful! Also her mermaid outfit is weird, it's not the same as her real mermaid outfit, the tail especially is horrible, with the purple swirl down the middle...yuck!

Still, she's made very well, and if you can't get the original one, this one is ok to settle for. Maybe some people actually like the color changing thing. She comes with a purple seahorse that squirts water, a shell shaped water holder (for color changing), a hairbrush, a strange necklace, and boldly colored...hair extensions....eww. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Belle, the beauty who won the heart of the Beast in the classic Disney animated film, looks ready for the ball in her flowing yellow satiny gown and matching shoes. She's joined by a little blue bird who, in a neat bit of design work, can fit right in her hand. Kids can have fun brushing Belle's long brown hair with the included brush or conducting a tea party with the included teapot and cups. Belle is made of hard plastic so while she is durable, she's better suited for daytime play than snuggling up with at night. --John Moe ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars love it but disappointed
My daughters both love this doll. They want Santa to bring another one.Unfortunately, my problem is with her hair. Her hair became matted with only a few hours of play.If we try to use the comb that came with it then the hair comes out.I would be sure Santa brought another one if the hair were different.

1-0 out of 5 stars I Know You, YOU ARE BELLE!
I have this doll at home, it is great to have the Hair got messy so I turned it into A ponytail oh can you hear me? Belle is a great doll! Note: This Doll Is Not Glass

Editorial Review

Before Ariel was the regal adventurer of sea and land, she was--just like you and me--a baby. But what a baby! Twelve-inch-tall Ariel is clad in a shimmering turquoise and purple dress fit for, well, royalty. And come nightfall, does she return to her more amphibious, tailed state? Certainly not! It's time for all good little princesses to slip into their turquoise one-piece sleepers and say good night. Wee Ariel also has a brush, a bottle, a toy seashell, and a bib; after all, even little mermaids spit up. This baby-powder-scented doll, with realistic red hair and a sweet expression, will be an immediate favorite with all the young ladies-in-waiting. --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute Cute Princesses ^__^
These dolls are so very cute, each one has her different style of beauty, each one is different from the others in hair, eyes, skin, dress.
Only one problem with Ariel: when she was born, she was a mermaid with a fish tail, not legs... she turned into human when she was a teen, not a baby!

5-0 out of 5 stars Adorable
My 4 year old daughter loves her baby princess. She is now looking forward to Snow White and Sleeping Beauty to come out since she now has Jasmine, Ariel, Belle, and Cinderella. If your daughter loves the Disney Princesses, this is a great Christmas choice.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful doll
I bought this doll for my 4 year old daughter.Ariel is her favorite Disney princess and this doll is simply darling!Although she dosen't "do anything" She is too cute, especially her little booties! My daughter loves putting on and taking off her bib at feeding time. She is able to remove her dress but I have to help her w/the other outfit(it's a little of a tight fit). She also comes w/a bottle, teether and has on a diaper.Great doll for the price.Good Buy!!! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Very Cute
My little sister got this doll about a year ago. She really liked it at first, but soon she lost interest. This is partially normal, but I think it could have done a better job of holding my sis's attention. The clothes and phrases were cute, and the songs were rockin', but after a while it gets kind of old. You could even guess what she was going to say next. we could practically lip sync it. Other than that, the doll was pretty cool, and I mostly recommend this doll to younger children, who will think that lovely Gabriella is saying something new and different ever time. I say give this doll a try!

5-0 out of 5 stars Get all 3 Pop Dreamer dolls to really enjoy this toy
My 5-year-old daughter got all 3 Pop Dreamer dolls for Christmas and LOVES them. I can understand the reviews not being so good if you only have one doll, but when you have all 3, they sing and interact with one another. They "know" when they are wearing another doll's clothes and comment on it, and they sing other songs together. We also bought the Pop Dreamers music CD, which my daughter loves, too. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Make-believe and dress-up play allow children the opportunityto be anything they can dream of. Sometimes all it takes is a pink hatto transform a child into a medieval princess or a magical wizard. This17.5-inch conical hat is covered with luxurious dark pink velvet, trimmed with shimmering paisley ribbons, and comfortably lined withblack fabric. Made of 100 percent polyester, it can be dry-cleaned orspot-cleaned with a damp cloth. The base of the hat measures about 23inches in circumference and has a spongy band draped in metallic goldfabric that has enough give to fit a variety of head shapes and sizes.A tuft of white tulle threaded with metallic gold strands blossoms fromthe crown of the hat and cascades down the back to create a majestic25-inch veil. --Kathryn Gustafson ... 1-0 out of 5 stars So Disappointing
In my opinion, this toy is a piece of junk. The "makeup" would not appear even when my daughter used ice water--disappointing.The hair easily falls out--disappointing.Two of the hairpieces fell apart within the first hour--disappointing.The head will not stay on the base--disappointing.I was a little surprised that this toy only cost $14.99 and now I see why it was so cheap--you definitely get what you pay for.

2-0 out of 5 stars Cute idea, but it doesn't work...
This is a cute concept. My 3 1/2 y.o. daughter has wanted the Bratz doll styling head, but she is still a little young for that look (grin), so I thought this would be a good compromise. It is a cute idea, in that you don't have to use real make-up, and she can still do a makeover.Well, even after putting ice in the carriage cup, the water still wasn't cold enough to elicit a color change on the doll's face.We tried everything, but the makeup didn't change colors. The hair falls out easily when brushing it, and the barrettes are difficult for a little girl to fasten alone. She ended up being very disappointed in this toy, and it sits up in the closet unused.Perhaps I will let her buy some cheap makeup and give the doll a real makeover, but then, that sort of defeats the purpose of this toy.Overall, I consider it a big waste of money...

Editorial Review

Everybody's favorite little mermaid, Ariel, is ready for a pool party. She features a green mermaid tail that can be removed to reveal a purple swimsuit. Her long flowing hair can be groomed with the included hairbrush or she can sip a refreshing beverage from a pineapple-shaped container on a floating platter. Baby Flounder completes the set and can squirt water for an extra bit of fun. The ensemble is nicely assembled and features enough accoutrements to give Ariel context, but not so many as to make the set unwieldy. --John Moe ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This Ariel is lovely! She can be "part of your world"!
Ariel is very beautiful (well that's obvious, what I meant is this doll is beautiful!), and is made very well. She has lovely red-auburn hair that is long, wavy and luxurious, and she has a cute barrette clipped in. Her eyes are cheery and bright, she just looks adorable!

Ariel comes dressed in her signature yet beautiful mermaid outfit, and her mermaid tail can be removed to reveal a pretty purple swimsuit underneath.

She comes with accessories including a baby Flounder that squirts water,a festive plate that holds two pineapple drinks, two orange pieces, and two strawberry pieces, as well as a purple hairbrush. I wish she came with Sebastian too, oh well.

This Ariel is MUCH nicer and prettier than the color changing Ariel! She is getting harder to find, so it you want her for your little princess or just for yourself, don't wait much longer! She's a decent price, and is worth it for any girl who loves Ariel, young or old (or somewhere in between!).

5-0 out of 5 stars MY DAUGHTERS TUB BUDDY
MY FOUR YEAR OLD RECEIVED THIS FOR HER BIRTHDAY AND SHE TAKES IT EVERYWHERE WITH HER AND IT HOLDS UP! SHE LOVES TO PLAY SPLASH WITH HER IN THE TUB AND POOL, AND SHE LIKES TO STYLE HER HAIR...I KNOW SOME HAVE SAID THE HAIR IS HARD TO COMB THROUGH AND SHE FILLS UP WITH WATER BUT WE HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM AND SHE SWIMS WITH IT DAILY IN THE BATH. SHE LOVES IT!

2-0 out of 5 stars Whatever you do, don't put her in the bathtub!
She's not meant to go in the tub and will fill up w/ water. The only way to get the water out is to pull off a leg and empty the doll that way.Extremely hard to get back on!Also her hair is not meant to be combed even though they include a comb w/ this toy. It's made of something that isn't combable. ... Read more
