Not as thrilled as the other reviewers
Purchased one of these about three years ago.I had to throw it out recently since I couldn't remove the second post to increase the height.In addition, the net had pretty much disintegrated over time even though it was not sujected to heavy use nor much weather.

It did require a bit of force and a lot of soap to assemble in the beginning. But as hard as we tried recently, we couldn't remove the second post to adjust the height.Fun toy and the kids enjoyed it. Just disappointed that the net didn't last longer and we couldn't enjoy the adjustable height feature.

i almost did not buy this toy because people in other reviews stated how much trouble they had putting it together. well i brought it anyway and i am so glad i did.. it took my son in law fifteen mintues to put it together even with a couple of mistakes. my ganddaughter loves it and i am sure it will grow with her and not be just a one year toy.

A Favorite in Our House...
Our 4 boys LOVE this basketball hoop. We got it two years ago and all of them play with it daily. Fun while it lasted
My son got this when he was 3. My 5 year old daughter thought it would be fun to lay it down and sit on it like it was a horse or something. The basket cracked. Before that, the tiny red piece of plastic that is used to adjust the height was lost, so it had to be used at the shortest height. We found the piece, and my husband superglued the basket. It worked until the first slam-dunk. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

One of the best purchases we've made
I couldn't help but add my 2 cents worth. We bought this for our 14 month old son. He absolutely loves it. We have had it for three months and he still plays with it every day. Our 3 year old loves to get into the action too and Dad and the kids literally spend hours playing ball. I would recommend it to anyone. It is a great idea for inside physical activity during the cold months, ours was in the living room, it's nice because it doesn't take up too much space.

Addicting but unreliable
I bought this for my six year old son. I must say, I have spent more time on it than him, playing it into the night after he's put to bed. I've had some reliability problems though--the scoring quit working reliably shortly after we got it--sometimes it records a score, sometimes it doesn't and checking the wiring and replacing batteries hasn't fixed it.Also beware, it's BIG. You need plenty of room and a high celing. Even when "collapsed" into it's storage position, it is a mighty prominent addition to your home. Still, wouldhave given it five stars overall if it worked reliably.

FUN TO PLAY BUT NO FUN TO PUT TOGETHER
My boys age 12 & 8 wanted this for Christmas so against my wishes I made the purchase. I knew it would be a big job to put together...why do toy makers think parents should make the toy???
Anyway the instruction book states that it will take 7-14 hours to put together...It took two people 9 hours... I must say it is durable and that is what I was looking for.Make sure you have a room with over 7 foot ceiling because we measured the basement thinking it would fit but had to put it on the unfinshed side of the basement because we did not allow room for the basketball to be thrown higher than 7 feet in order to fall into the net. My kids wanted this toy because the voice is from ESPN and without batteries this toy would be NO FUN to them.The basketball and football are the games they play most.Golf and soccer and hockey are not competitive enough and the scoring is not interactive like the the other games. I know there are other sturdy arcade style basketball games on the market for less money that I could have purchased, but no others that have the ESPN game voice. If you buy this allow ample time to put it together and make sure you have batteries on hand.

Worth it!
I'll keep this brief.I purchased this for my 2 kids (boy and girl ages 10 and 6) for xmas.They played with it all day xmas and everyday since.They still haven't played with the rest of their toys for playing with this so much.Yes it's a couple of bucks and yes it takes up alot of room...but it's worth it.Better that their on their feet moving than sitting watching tv and playing video games. ... Surprise
I bought this for my niece two years ago and never thought about it or heard about it again.Recently, I went to her soccer game and while she was playing, her brothers were playing with this decorated ball.She had fun decorating it and they all love to play with it!!I was pleasantly surprised.

Cool Look, But won't Last
This seems like a lot of fun, but at the same time most people nowadays are looking for the new cool-looking Adidas or Nike. Plus it probably won't last very long because of the material.

Coming from a kid, I must say that this is a wonderful item to have. I got it for my birthday last year and I loved it. I played with all the time. still a favorite after all these years...
I just bought this item for my nephew's 2nd birthday.It was a no brainer because I remember how much fun my own 2 boys had with this very same set when they were younger - they're both teenagers now and have graduated to the "real professional sets" although I'm confident their first Little Tykes set was fun & encouraged them enough to make them want to continue enjoying the game!

Top ten toy for toddlers
We received this toy as a gift when my son was almost two. Now a year later, I'm buying a replacement - we have played with this so much in in our driveway that he's worn a hole in the bottom of one of the clubs!Not that this set isn't durable, but it has seen a lot of action at our house. It's been one of if not the most popular toy with my son for an entire year. It's nice that there are two clubs as well so that other children or mom/dad can join in.We lost the balls that came with it quickly but wiffleballs or practice golf balls work great as replacements.

Very good golf toy
My mom gave this set to our 3 year old daughter last year. She played with it as soon as she saw it and still plays with it every day. The set is composed of a pretend iron, a pretend putter, a golf cart, an inverted cup that serves as the hole and 3 balls.

Since I, my husband and her older sister play real golf, my now-4 year old has graduated to a real putter and hits with adult golf balls. Whether or not you plan to introduce your child to the sport, it's still a good toy. She still pays with this set inside the house. It's made of plastic so it hasn't damaged the furniture and yet it's sturdy enough not to fall apart. Just make sure you assemble the golf cart correctly or else it can turn into a little surfing board. ;) When it's not golf, the cart has been used to transport various toys from room to room and outdoors.

Won't jump!
My daughter is 50+ lbs. and can't make it jump.My husband took it apart and tried greasing the springs and it still is really tough to make it go up and down.Maybe we have a lemon?We're all disappointed and frustrated.

I got this set for Christmas last year and I had a great time building it and playing with it. This set is rather large so be prepared to have a place to store it (I built it on a piece of plywood). I would also suggest building it on a hard surface.

excellent hoop set for older little ones
We received this item as a gift.It took about 20 minutes to assemble, with no tools required.(I did use a shoe to pound the wheel axle in though :-)There were a lot of stickers included, so I had the kids decorate the apparatus as I assembled it, and everyone was happy.

There are five height adjustments but even the lowest is 5 feet, so this set is a little too tall for the recommended three-year old; however, it does fold up nicely to reduce its impact on your space, it does move around easily using the wheels, and you can fill the bottom with sand or water to stabilize it.With the exception of the axle for the wheels, all parts are plastic and colorful.This is a very nice basketball hoop (though as I said, a bit tall for the lower recommended age), and one small basketball is included.Easy to put together, easy to enjoy and easy to store.

Besides being a beginning baseball player, there are so manyother reasons why one might want to own this durable set: a small yard,a lack of a pitcher, a rainy day, all come to mind. Good if you live near a busy area
My son got this toy when he was 4.He is now 6 and still uses it.I like that the ball has a cord attached to it. It's great for us since we live on a major street so when we play in the front yard, I don't have to worry about it going in the street and getting lost.(We don't have a backyard)It isn't very durable.The cord on ours has broken a couple of times so I have just tied it back together so it works.Also, my son keeps hitting the T stand instead of the ball and the stand has come off many times.I just have to keep putting it back on. It is falling apart now that it has been 2 years years, but my son still likes it and it works good for us.

BROKEN ON THE FIRST USE!!
My husband and I decided to get this for our 4 year old daughter to teach her how to hit before t-ball season started. It was easy to use,but after several tries that afternoon...it broke. My daughter missed the ball and instead, she hit the post that the ball sits on. It broke completely off of the base and there is no way to fix it. We will have to buy a new one. Great Fun
We got this for our son a year ago. It was easy to install, and it has 'grown' as he grew ! The height adjustment is easy to make. It is also very sturdy. I have not filled it with sand, so it is light enough for my son to move the entire toy himself to wherever he wants it ! The only thing I am unhapy with is that the noise from the battery-operated speaker is so loud that it sometimes scares my son.

SON'S FAVORITE TODDLER TOY
My son, now 4 1/2 recieved this toy on his 1st birthday and it immediately became his favorite toy.This STURDY DURABLE toy got a DAILY workout from my son for about two and a half years.At which time we retired it for no other reason than he had graduated to a taller hoop (this one goes to 4 foot).I should also mention that our son preferred a full size ball (yes, it fits!)to the one that is included.I mention that only to support the DUABILITY rating. It's a hit!
We have two kids, ages 3 and 1.They both love this toy!The only "problem" we have had is them fighting over who gets the ball ... so pick up an extra ball if you have more than one kid playing with this.As for the toy itself, it is very durable construction, has withstood being toppled over more than once, and the hoop does not fall out because we have pushed it firmly into place (you will hear a snap when it locks).The children hang on the hoop and it is just fine.I love the adjustable height of the stand, and the net has held up despite many things besides just a ball being forced through it.Now I just need to fill the base with sand and we will be in great shape!This is one of the best toys we have purchased for the kids, it keeps them active while having fun. ... I bought this for my 8 year old grandchild and it was a big hit.Flows easily and is used often.One leg was broken when we received it but used super glue and it was like new.I wanted to order another, but alas, on Christmas, the answer was no.For the price, I feel this is an exceptional product

A Great Product for the Price
I bought this air hockey product for our 7 year old twin boys this past Christmas.They rated it as their "best gift" and it is one of the few toys that is still being used and enjoyed on a regular basis.I was concerned that the table size would be too small and the air flow would be inadequate to have a fast paced game for the cost of this model.However, I am extrememly pleased with the table proportion and it has a flow more than adequate to "float" the puck and produces a very fast game.We started out playing with it on the floor with the boys sitting down, but have since moved it to a small table and they now play standing up.It is a fun game for parents to play with their children and it is the type of game that kids can play with a minimum amount of disagreement or supervision.There is a manual "score board" to ten points for each player and the only additional rule we had to implement was to keep their "free hand" off the table.It is a great game for eye-hand coordination and the fast pace makes it exciting for the players and spectators alike.

This game is awesome. I really enjoy playing this game. The buzzing sound does not bother me at all. I would soon want to get plain figures and paint them exactly like an Arena Football team. I love football. I understand football. I learned about football when I was 5 years old because of this game. I'm 26 now....Electric football is the most hands-on game in the sports toy circle. Granted it's not as savvy or intelligent as most of the football video games out there, but it allows for creativity and imagination. Growing up, my buddies and I started a league. We each had 4 teams and kept track of stats and standings. We even had a pro-bowl. Instead of using the lame-o quarterback they give you, we simply threw the ball ourselves. The loud buzzing sound is a bit annoying, but even when that broke on my old board, we still played by tapping on the board. MLB Superstars Baseball Game
My wife and I purchased this game to play with our nephews and nieces when they visit.The kids have enjoyed it very much, and I like it a lot better than some of the other children's games because of the baseball references.It's been a lot of fun for all of us to play.

Great for Kids!
This game is educational fun for youngsters.It teaches them about primary colors and numbers, and introduces them to some of the basic terms of baseball (doubles, home runs, etc.).They also learn the names of today's baseball stars.Since there is no strategy involved, youngsters have as much opportunity to win as do adults playing against them.I also appreciate that the game parts are quite sturdy, and can easily be cleaned when the inevitable peanut butter or jelly gets on them.I highly recommend it.

Quick, fun game for 4-7 age group
I purchased the game for my son's 4th birthday and he likes it very much. It's a simple game (as it should be for 4 year olds). Basically, it's a race around the bases. It plays quickly so hedoesn't lose interest before it's over - in fact we usually have to play twice. The board and game pieces are very bright with the primary color scheme that appeals to 4 year olds.

Most importantly, he is learning baseball terms and players. For his birthday I took him to his first game (Expos at the Phillies).We played the APBA game the next day and when he drew the Scott Rolen card, I pointed out we had seen Rolen play. Now every time he draws Rolen or Vladimir Guerrero, he points out that we saw them in the game we went to. He can even pronounce "Nomar Garciaparra"!

Hours of entertainment.
First of all, I'd like to say that the 1 star review on this item below is completely unfair. The deal is I bought this bowling set for the dorm hallway, and I can't begin to tell how much entertainment it has provided. Believe it or not, the quality of the set is pretty high. I mean it definitely isn't made of plexy glass, but it has survived 2 semesters of wear and tear from college students, and the set is still complete and in fine form. Besides, of course, wind will blow the pins down; they are made of plastic not metal. Who bowls outside anyhow? The truth of the matter is for the price of this set you can't go wrong.

You get what you pay for...
We purchased this set and were very disappointed with it. The bowling set is extremely cheap and will fall down with the slightest breeze (very frustrating for kids and parents to try to keep up). The set was returned the follwing morning and new set purchased with weights in each pin... you get what you pay for with this item.

Fun while it lasted
The pins are very lightweight, which makes them easy to knock down, but difficult to set up (especially outside on a windy day) and very, very easy to smash. Four!
Ever since we purchased "Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour", our kids have been obsessed with golf (our 5 year old boy even stops channel surfing to watch golf: SNOOZE). Putt-Putt has been #1 on their list of things they want to do, so we purchased this Junior Golf cart for them. All three kids (ages 6, 5 and 2) have a blast with this.
